Surrounded by rivers, lakes, and forests—and just a short drive to Yellowstone National Park—it’s the perfect base for adventure, wildlife viewing, and unforgettable summer daysbrbr10/10 Reviews from our past guests!brbrA wonderful time!brWe had such a wonderful time at the cabin! It was clean and ready for us when we arrived, Melissa did a wonderful job. The pond and campfire were so great, we even had a moose come visit us a few times! The cabin was great for our group of 7 to have dinners and play games, but still have room enough for privacy. The location was great for going kayaking and to Yellowstone, too! We would gladly go back again.brbrNear Yellowstone. brIt was just right for our needs. Our family enjoyed the fire pit , the large dining table, the deck, the upper deck, the comfortable beds, the big tub ( roomy for our toddlers to splash and play), the wooden swing, throwing rocks in the water , and looking for frogs. The location was convenient to Yellowstone and we enjoyed kayaking ,fishing at the reservoir and playing in the water. A larger area to store meal prep needs would be great, but overall a great home and location.brbrGreat for outdoors!brSimple, rustic place with all the basics you need to cook indoors or out, sleep a bunch of people, entertain, and/or just chill. Do laundry if you need to. They’ve even added a hot tub since our last stay! And the area is great for outdoor adventures and wildlife! We’ve rented a couple of times and would do it again.brbr=================================================================================================brbrNestled among the trees in Island Park, this charming rustic cabin invites you to unwind in nature's embrace. With ample space to accommodate up to 12 guests comfortably, it's an ideal retreat for the whole family. Start your mornings on the first or second-floor deck with a steaming cup of coffee, or indulge in a relaxing soak in the hot tub on the first-floor deck. Gather around the fire pit in the evenings to toast marshmallows and share stories while enjoying the serene surroundings. The cabin overlooks a tranquil pond, providing a peaceful backdrop and attracting local wildlife.brbrConveniently located less than 35 minutes from West Yellowstone and less than 2 hours from Jackson Hole, this property offers easy access to nearby attractions. Coming Snowmobiling A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!brbrbrbrInteraction with Guests:brbrIf guests have any questions or concerns during their stay, Please call or text, we do not monitor Airbnb messages late in the evening or early morning. This four bedroom home is a short 45 minute drive to the west entrance of Yellowstone and about 25 minutes from Henry's Lake. Summer months are fine with a small car but four wheel drive is a must in the winter!brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrWhat to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Wapiti View 6-Bedroom Cabin 28mins to Yellowstone

Island Park, Idaho, United States

There’s something about the Wapiti View Cabin that makes you feel extra connected to your friends and family. Kind of like those herds of wapiti, or elk, that cross through the area every spring and fall. Settle in, stay awhile, and make memories in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.brbrOur cabin is located 28 minutes from the western gates of Yellowstone National Park and is a spacious home base for trips into the Park, fishing, hiking, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, and beyond.brbrThe space:brHigh ceilings, modern furnishings, and well-appointed sleeping quarters make this modern 6-bedroom cabin a perfect place to gather with friends and family.brbrBedrooms include 2 king quarters, 2 queen rooms, 1 full room, and a master-adjoining bedroom with 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds (perfect for kids). You’ll also find a spacious living room with plenty of lounge space, two full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with an open-air dining room and buffet island, a garage for your toys, a back deck (accessible during summers only), a propane grill, and a one-of-a-kind Western-style saloon.brbrGuest access:brGuests have full access to the house, driveway, and garage. Enjoy!brOther things to notebrBefore you book, read on to learn about a couple of property quirks to make sure we’re the right fit for your outdoor adventure:brbrWhile we do offer WiFi, the speed of our Internet *may* take twenty years off your life (although we promise the restorative power of nature will put those years right back on). While we can assure you we’ve spent countless hours with every single ISP in the area and offer up the best we possibly can, don’t expect to Zoom into meetings or (or much of anything, internet-wise) while you enjoy your stay in the great outdoors.brbrWhile we made Wapiti View Cabin as comfortable as possible, we still are located in a remote area and encourage our guests to prepare for some rustic experiences. That can mean drafts in the winter, hot summers, or the occasional four-to-eight-legged friend around the property or grounds. We like to think of ourselves as an extension of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, so it’s all part of the fun!brbrPlease note that one of the bedrooms (the 1 queen, 2 twin rooms) adjoins the upstairs master bedroom.brbrFor the safety of our guests, we maintain an outdoor security camera covering the entrance to the cabin, as part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem we like to keep an eye on bear activity on trash days, snow and ice levels during winters, and other precautionary measures to make sure that you have a safe and smooth stay.brbrWinters are intense here. Snow shedding from the roof, as well as icy/snowy walkways, can be dangerous and difficult to pass, particularly for people with ambulatory issues. The HOA plows the neighborhood streets but keeps a thin layer of snow for snowmobilers. We’re also subject to mountain snowstorms that can occur early in the fall and well into the spring.brbrFire season typically falls between summer and early fall in the area, so air quality may be unhealthy during this time, particularly among sensitive groups.brbrThe western gates to Yellowstone close seasonally, generally closing the second Monday of November and reopening the third Friday of April.brbrWe hope you enjoy this neck of the woods as much as we do. Welcome to the greater Yellowstone region!
