We are very proud to have been chosen by PENHALIGON’S and more recently FLORIS to offer their complimentary size toiletries in our Apartments. PENHALIGON’S was founded in 1860 by Cornish Barber William Penhaligon who moved from Penzance to London, and later became Court Barber and Perfumer to Queen Victoria. Penhaligon's was granted a Royal Warrant by Queen Alexander in 1903, and today still holds two very long standing Royal Warrants granted by HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh. FLORIS, founded in 1730 by Juan and Elizabeth Flores are the oldest English retailers of fragrances and toiletries in the country, and is still run today from the same shop at 89 Jermyn Street by direct descendants of the Floris family. Floris was granted its first Royal Warrant by King George IV in 1820, with 19 Royal Warrants following. Today, very long standing Royal Warrants were granted by HM the Queen and HRH the Prince of Wales. Past customers include Florence Nightingale, Mary Shelly (author of Frankenstein and wife of the Poet Shelley), Beau Brummel and fictional James Bond always wore Flores No 89. brOur Apartment is the ideal base for holidays, honeymoons, birthdays and all anniversary celebrating guests, not forgetting Christmas and New Year guests. St. Ives holds a very lively fancy dress New Year's Eve Street Party each year. St Ives is a paradise of 4 of the most stunningly beautiful white sandy beaches in the UK, and boasts one of the mildest climates in England. Porthmeor Beach is great for surfing, Porthgwidden Beach is sheltered and Porthminster Beach has beach activities. All are ideal for swimming and all have cafes, shops and public loos. St Ives is the perfect place to relax and unwind, whether it is sunbathing on the beach or enjoying walks, it is steeped in history, and a century or so ago, was known for it's tin and copper mining and fishing. Today, mining no longer exists, but fishing still does. brThe North West Cornish Coast was featured in the TV series Poldark, where it was filmed. St Ives has a magical atmosphere and has changed very little, which is why it is easily one of the UK's most popular holiday destinations. The original cobbled streets and quaint old buildings are still here, which are now mostly upmarket shops in the centre. There are plenty of shops in St Ives stocked with local and general produce. A Tesco Supermarket is located in Carbis Bay, a 5 minute car drive away, or guests could pre-order groceries online before they arrive. There is an array of restaurants and bars in St ives for dining out. There are many attractions to visit, such as the Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and St Michael's Mount in Marazion (a very short car drive away) to name but three. A Taxi Company, St Ives Train Station and the Bus Station are all just a few minutes walk any. We hope that we have said enough to tempt you into booking with us, but if you would like any further information, please don't hesitate in contacting Chris and Janice Smith, owners of Apartment 9 Fernlea Court, who would be more than happy to assist. We offer SHORT BREAKS (3 nights minimum) in LOW SEASON. Meadow Corner | Boutique cottage in Downalong, St Ives

Saint Ives, England, United Kingdom

Meadow Corner is a unique and characterful seaside cottage in the heart of Downalong and close to pretty much everything in St Ives, but it is also reminiscent of the comfiest and cosiest boutique suite you’ve ever stayed in!brbrThe cottage is set over three-storeys and has been interior designed in a classic contemporary feel from top to bottom. You will find no clichéd seaside interiors here, just plenty of eclectic, tasteful cosiness, all testament to the owner and interior designer.brbrThe location of Meadow Corner couldn’t be better, literally seconds away from the stunningly beautiful Porthmeor beach, renowned for its soft sands, surfing and fabulous Tate gallery. It’s worth mentioning Porthmeor Café too, just around the corner and perfect for breakfast overlooking the beach or evening meal whilst watching the sunset from your very own heated outdoor pod.brbrThe cottage is on The Meadow and surrounded by quaint cobbled streets with such intriguingly quirky names as Virgin Street, The Digey, Teetotal Street and Fish Street, all a short meander away and perfectly mazey to safely get lost amongst. There is no risk of becoming lost for too long though as Downalong is surrounded by the clear turquoise waters of the Atlantic on three sides.brbrThe cottage itself has three-storeys with the front entrance opening on to the living room, especially lovely in the winter with log burning stove making the room invitingly cosy.brDownstairs you will find the kitchen with more than enough of everything for two guests, including a wooden farmhouse table that would comfortably seat more.brUpstairs is the bedroom where you will find a king-sized bed and plenty of indulgence with cosy throw, scatter cushions and quality bedding, and plenty of the cottage’s character evident with old beams and wood panelling.brOff of the bedroom is the surprisingly spacious en-suite shower room with wc, basin and indulgent walk-in shower.brbrTo the front of the cottage is a bistro table and chairs, perfect for that al-fresco coffee in the mid-morning sunshine.brbrOne dog is welcome to stay with you at Meadow Corner, so those post luscious winter beach walks can be spent cosied up in front of the fire with your faithful four-legged friend. Perfect!brbrMeadow Corner really is the ultimate St Ives luxury cottage for two!br

This delightful coastal retreat has sea views, a welcoming open-plan living area, and two comfortable bedrooms. Benefit from effortless access to the pristine nearby beaches, a variety of shops, and an array of restaurants. It's perfectly suited for families and welcomes dogs, making it an excellent base for discovering all that St Ives has to offer.brbrbrbrThe Space:brbrThis charming 2-bedroom fisherman’s cottage is set in the heart of St Ives’ historic old town, known as Downalong. Tucked just one street back from the bustling harbour front, it offers the perfect balance - close to the waterfront, shops, restaurants, and beaches, yet in a slightly quieter position. The cottage also warmly welcomes dogs, making it a great choice for guests travelling with their four-legged companions.brbrbrbrStep inside to the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, decorated in calming coastal blues and whites with ample woodwork, giving the home a warm and relaxed feel. The space is thoughtfully equipped with all the kitchen essentials. After long days out exploring St Ives, snuggle up to movie nights on the smart TV.brbrbrbrHead up to the top floor to discover the master bedroom. Elevated above the rooftops, this light-filled room is flanked by large double windows framing stunning views across the harbour, sea and beyond. Wake up to the sounds of the waves, or unwind in bed and enjoy the wall-mounted smart TV.brbrbrbrOn the first floor, you’ll find a twin bedroom, ideal for friends or family, along with a pebble-floored wetroom featuring a shower. A small corner desk also makes this floor practical for catching up on work or writing postcards home.brbrbrbrPerfectly positioned and full of charm, this cottage is a wonderful retreat for couples, friends or small families looking to immerse themselves in the magic of St Ives. For guests arriving by car, there are several paid car parks in St Ives. The Sloop Car Park is just seconds from the cottage but is quite small and can fill up quickly, particularly during peak season. The Island Car Park and Barnoon Long Stay Car Park are both larger options located around a 5 minute walk away.brbrbrbrGuest Access:brbrGuests will have access to the cottage.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrThis fisherman's cottage in St Ives offers the perfect base for exploring one of Cornwall’s most picturesque and lively seaside towns. Famous for its golden beaches, turquoise waters, and artistic heritage, St Ives has something for everyone.brbrbrbrJust minutes from your door, you can enjoy Porthmeor Beach, a Blue Flag favourite for surfers and sunbathers, or stroll to Porthminster Beach, ideal for swimming and family days out. Wander the narrow cobbled streets lined with galleries, boutiques, and cafés, soaking in the town’s charming character.brbrbrbrArt lovers will be drawn to the world-renowned Tate St Ives, showcasing modern and contemporary works inspired by the Cornish landscape, as well as the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, where you can explore the artist’s former home and studios. The lively harbour is perfect for grabbing fresh seafood, taking a boat trip to spot seals and dolphins, or simply watching the fishing boats come and go.brbrbrbrFor walkers, the South West Coast Path offers spectacular hikes with dramatic sea views, while nearby Carbis Bay and Godrevy provide more stunning beaches. In the evenings, enjoy a wide choice of restaurants and pubs, from casual fish and chips to fine dining with a sea view.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrThe cottage's central location means you can explore much of St Ives and the local area on foot or by train. All of the town's best amenities and attractions surround you. The train station is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive and the line runs all the way from London Paddington with only one change. You can also catch the train to Carbis Bay, which is a great ride that goes around the edge of the cliff, as well as further afield. There is also a good number of buses servicing the local area. brbrbrbrFor those who do drive, there are numerous paid car parks in St Ives. The Sloop Car Park is seconds from the property, but is rather small so you may struggle to get a spot - especially during peak season. The Island Car Park and Barnoon Long Stay Car Park are both around 5 minutes walk and much larger.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrSea Air is a historic cottage full of character. This also means that it wasn't built to modern building proportions. The property is split over three levels, with the master bedroom located on the top floor and accessed by a quite steep, narrow staircase. It therefore may not be suitable for those with mobility limitations. brbrbrbrThe cottage is centrally located and, whilst not as busy as the harbour front itself, there is still potential for noise. brbrbrbrDogs are welcome with a fee of £20/dog (max 2). It is on the condition they are not allowed on the soft furnishings or in the bedrooms and not left in the property unattended.brbrbrbrInteraction with Guests:brbrWe will be available via message, email and phone during your stay.
