Less than three miles away is Bigbury on Sea a village with a large sandy beach (surf school, cafe) and stretching to Burgh Island (famous art deco hotel, setting for Agatha Christie novels). Good golf course at Bigbury. The South West Coast Path is worth exploring as is the real ale pub in the nearby coastal village of Ringmore. Further afield sensational Salcombe at the mouth of the Kingsbridge estuary with its many cove beaches and boutique shops is worth a visit.
