This place is in a great location to explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the heart of the South Hams.brbrEnter the chalet straight into the comfortable living room with dining table and tv. Straight ahead is the compact kitchen with washing machine and fridge with ice compartment. On the left of the property are the two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the second with twin beds. Between the kitchen and the twin bedroom is the shower room with electric shower.brbrThe chalet is solely for the use of guests.brbrI won't be available in person but we use Field and Beach Property Management or FABStays for short to look after our home. Local manager, Ali, is on hand if you need any assistance during your stay. Either message via the booking platform or text her during office hours.brbrThere is an allocated parking space a short walk away. Dartmouth is a 5 minute drive away or you can catch the local bus at the entrance to the park. Please check bus times or use a local taxi service.brbrThis is self-catered accommodation. Tawny and Kestrel Cottages are converted barns on our farm, Woodbury Farm Cottages. We are two miles from the riverside town of Dartmouth. This is a rustic farm location and many of the old buildings remain. You get the feeling of being away from it all in a quiet rural setting, but still very close to Dartmouth.brTawny cottage sleeps six with two kingsize beds, one en-suite and a twin room sharing the family bathroom. Upstairs is the open plan-living, dining, kitchen area with vaulted ceiling, giving a light and airy space great for relaxing in.brThe spacebrWe have two cottages, both sleeping 6, Tawny and Kestrel, ideal for two families or friends holidaying together. The cottages are part of a converted barn and retain the original features and roof trusses with vaulted ceilings. The windows have all been placed in the original openings, so each cottage is unique. Much of our furniture has been up-cycled and hand painted. The 3 bedrooms are on the ground floor with an open-plan living, kitchen, dining area on the first floor. The wood burner is perfect for warm cosy relaxing evenings. Quality white bed linen, towels, pillows and duvets are provided. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils, cutlery, plates, glasses, kettle, toaster, fridge with small freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Anything else you need just ask and we’ll try our best to assist. The farm is our home too and we want you to feel welcome and have a great holiday. brGuest accessbrThere’s plenty of parking in the yard and a seating area outside the cottage. Why not wander in our orchard paddock, the grass has been left long to attract wildlife, sit quietly and see what appears. You’re welcome to pick apples. If you’d like to meet our horses in the stables or feed our chickens some corn, just ask.brOther things to notebrThe barn is part of a courtyard of buildings along with our grade 2 listed farmhouse. They were once used as cow sheds on the former dairy farm. We have plans to convert an adjoining barn, which was once stables into another cottage. There are other farm sheds used for storage of machinery and hay. This is a rustic setting with free range chickens and our horses. brWell behaved dogs are welcome, please keep them on a lead on the farm. Also, please keep them off the furniture and beds a towel is provided for muddy paws. Please don’t leave your dog unaccompanied in the cottage. Please remember to book your dog in too, they cost £50 to stay.brThe track leading down is bumpy so please drive slowly and beware of free range chickens in the yard.

A streamside, spacious & cosy barn built c.1754 with the watermill across the courtyard, it sleeps 2-6 in 3 bedrooms, so is ideal for extended families/friends. A log burner, comfy sofas and armchairs for relaxing, and open plan to a modern dining kitchen with extendable dining table. Downstairs, a romantic double bedroom above the stream; a full-size bunk bed room with space for an extra bed; a shower-room and a further separate loo. Upstairs, a light twin room and a huge private bathroom.brbrFall asleep to the sound of the stream, to owls hooting and, if you're very lucky, otters and kingfishers. The patio gate opens to a level lawn then a wooden bridge over a little waterfall and you're on the track through the wildflower and bluebell woods between the mill leat and the river. A lovely stroll to the log seat by the ruined wears and waterfalls. Slapton and Strete are the closest villages, each with a good village shop. Strete has The King’s Arms village-owned pub, dog-friendly with great sea views from the garden and a kids’ play area. It’s a forty minute walk from Watermill Cottages on green lanes and fields with amazing scenery. Slapton has two dog-friendly, welcoming pubs which offer food: The Queen’s Arms with a west-facing beer garden and The Tower Inn with walled garden.brbrWe have plenty of parking on site. Dogs are £25 per dog per stay. Please keep dogs under close control around the cottage grounds as we have free-range poultry and there is livestock in the area.brbrWatermill Cottages is perfect for getting away from it all. Feel real peace here in a tranquil valley almost untouched by the modern world. A sustainable holiday too – a water turbine generates electricity using the old mill leat and there’s free electric car charging for guests. It’s tranquil here – TV or mobile signals don’t reach the valley, so you can enjoy a real-life 24-hour nature channel with a soundtrack of birdsong and the splashing stream – real peace and quiet! Each cottage has a radio, plenty of books, jigsaws and games, an info folder with walks, beaches and where to eat. We also have superfast broadband but of course you could switch this off if you want to have a real digital detox… The office has a landline for emergencies.
