And it really pleases me that guests report feeling relaxed, comfortable and at home here too. Whether you’re in town to explore Mystic, attend a wedding, visit family or for work you’ll find the house an ideal base for your adventures. The home is set up to comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests (and one to two dogs). brbrCook meals in the large kitchen, fully stocked with pots, pans and kitchen gadgets or bring take-out home from one of Mystic’s many restaurants and dine in the cozy dining room or outside on the porch. Borrow a book from the library, set up a board game or connect to Netflix to watch a movie in the living room. brbrPlug in your laptop and catch up on work (if you must). Parents with kids will find associated children’s toys, books and more to make their stay more comfortable. One of the upstairs bathrooms has an antique clawfoot tub, perfect for soaking after a day of exploring. And a washer/dryer and off-street parking make the home ideal for longer stays. brbrBecause I live here some of the time, there are some personal effects around the place, but there is plenty of storage space for guests' clothes (hooks, drawers and shelves), and many of the personal effects are books, art and wine that I've gathered on my travels. I'm a freelance writer, which means that there are lots of books which you are welcome to dip into (including books, maps, novels and poetry from the local area), wine you're welcome to open and various cooking supplies to help yourself to.brbrI try to be flexible about check-in / check-out times although during the summer have to be stricter to allow my housekeeper enough time to clean between guests. The second full bathroom leads off this bedroom.br- Kitchen, Dining and Living roombrAmazing bright open plan spaces that open onto the sunny deck. The living room has a small library of interesting books about the local area and literature by local authors, and funky and comfortable furniture. brThe kitchen is completely remodeled in 2025 and we're delighted by a new more spacious design and cool yellow color. We are a family that loves to cook and entertain--we've had so many good meals here and hope you do too. You'll find everything you need to make ambitious as well as everyday meals.brWith the kitchen remodel we also installed a gorgeous tile floor in the kitchen and refinished the original pine floors in the house throughout. Upstairs got a new paint job too.br- The DecksbrLovely spaces for entertaining, dining al fresco at the rustic tables or just sunbathing. There is a chiminea and a gas barbecue. A solid, bespoke outdoor table is on each deck--we use one for summer breakfasts in the shade, and the other (can seat 10) has wonderful views of the harbor.brbrPlease note that there is no air conditioning in the house. We've spent a lot of resources making the house as comfortable as possible with no a/c--with heat filters on the windows and fans in every room.brbrThere is central heating (air), a woodstove, and underfloor heating in the kitchen/dining area, making it cozy in winter!

Entering this private location and home, guests have initially commented on the beautiful setting and the peacefulness that comes from stepping onto the property. Our home sits on 4 ½ acres in a private waterfront community named “Osbrook Point” in Stonington Ct. Bordered on 2 sides by preserved woodlands and the Pawcatuck River on another, this year round home sits upon a knoll and the views and property look out down a gentle slope toward the river where one has access to a private dock and float for boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and wonderful views. The view across the river is of Watch Hill. Boaters will have direct access to open waters for fishing, boating or beaching at local beaches or at “Sandy Point”, a small island which is also a nature preserve. The boat dock is suitable for a boat up to 26 feet. There is fresh water and electricity at the dock.brbr Our home sleeps ten guests with four bedrooms and two full baths. Three of the bedrooms have queen beds, one with a pair of twin beds and a pull out couch in the living room. There is a laundry room and pantry for your convenience. It is an open concept home with water views from most rooms, a large deck for relaxing and barbecuing and a large yard to entertain and enjoy friends and family in a safe and secluded neighborhood. While it is in an ideal location for entertaining, this is not a party house.brbr The home's location allows renters to enjoy a natural setting with wildlife and the river with views to Weekapaug and Watch Hill. It is close to historic Stonington Borough, Mystic with it's Seaport and Aquarium, Napatree and Misquamicut Beaches and Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos and local wineries.
