The large master bath with chocolate marble flooring offers a jetted tub and a large walk-in steam shower. It has a desk, 70-inch TV, two arcade games, mini fridge, microwave and Keurig. Step out onto another balcony and watch the sail boats, kayakers, or paddle boarders go by. On the second floor you will find the incredible chef’s kitchen with expansive walk-in pantry, two islands, two dishwashers, double ovens, three sinks, bar area with wine fridge as well as a Keurig. There’s also a toaster, cooking utensils, pots and pans as well as large plates, small plates, bowls, flatware, coffee cups, wine glasses all enough for 10 guests. On this floor you will also find the living room with couch, fireplace, 65-inch TV and the dining room table with seating for 10. Ocean views from practically everywhere on this floor. Enter the house through the magnificent red beveled doors (red doors meaning Luck and a safe stop for travelers). The open floor plan, hardwood floors, granite kitchen counters and soft gray colors make the house warm and inviting. You can leave a different message every day or any reminders on the kitchen's chalk board door. There is a full bathroom on the first floor with a stacked washer/dryer for your convenience. It's just a 2 minute walk to beach entrance at the foot of Naugatuck Avenue where you'll find shops and restaurants around the corner. brbrOriginally called Villa Rosa when the area was a beach destination at the turn of the century, my cottage was a boarding house where meals where served on what was once the front porch (now the sunroom).brbrToday the beach is a mecca for SUPers and if you don't have your own, one SUP and a kayak are available for guest use. Around the corner you'll find long lines for the very popular Walnut Beach Creamery.brbrEnjoy watching the regattas from the front garden bench or an alfresco dinner by tiki torch in the back. Play a game of croquet in its just the-right-sized-back yard. On Sundays you can enjoy live music at the beach pavilion or walk out on the pier and cast for bluefish. (You'll need a permit.) You can play volleyball on the beach or stroll over via the boardwalk to Silver Sands State Park. At low tide there, you can walk over to Charles Island on the tombolo and look for Captain Kidd's buried pirate booty.brbrEnjoy a morning espresso on the back deck's comfy bench whilst birdwatching or stroll down to the Audubon Coastal Center and watch the sea eagles nesting on the Housatonic marsh. The nature center, a landmarked old hotel, has a wonderful viewing deck with rocking chairs. You'll find a pair of binoculars for guest use hanging on the foyer mirror. There you'll also find beach totes, sun hats, beach roll, tennis rackets and yoga mat. There are tennis courts at the top of the street at the neighborhood recreation center.brbrFor family and friend BBQs, the back herringbone brick patio has a propane grill along with seating for 4. Its chiminea is the spot for S'mores at night and perhaps a ghost story or two. S'more skewers can be found in the fully equipped kitchen. Kids enjoy the Bridgeport Zoo or seeing Tiny Tim's bed in the Barnum Museum. He really was TINY!!! On rainy days the ProBass shop has a bowling alley that is like taking an under the sea adventure. Or jump on the MetroNorth and ride into Grand Central Station for a day of sightseeing in the Big Apple followed by a Broadway show. No traffic jams to worry about!brbrJune is a big month here with the annual Pirate Festival. In July the annual sand sculpture competition is held. In August we have the famous Oyster Festival and Lobster Bake. And free music abounds all summer long on Sunday afternoons at the Walnut Beach Pavilion and Friday night's Summer Nights and Harbor Lights down by the water at the Rotary Pavilion at Fowler Field behind the Library in the downtown village. When you want to relax in the summer, the outdoor living area is generous and so much fun with a large pool including all the floats and toys you could ask for, a hammock for relaxing, and a firepit and lounge seating for everyone to comfortably unwind. There are several entertainment areas in the house including a big screen TV and game space on the lower level. Fully immersible stereo sound, professional ping pong table, popcorn machine, game table and shuffleboard are all available for you to enjoy. In the beautifully finished attic, there is a large workout area with a professional grade elliptical machine, rower, full set of weights and a digital work-out mirror. Also in the attic is a full lounge with a second large screen TV and video gaming components. If you want quiet space and time, there are multiple areas to find a quiet reading nook in the den or on the fully enclosed sun porch. There are also fun details like Sonos speakers located all throughout the house, a commercial grade ice cream freezer on the porch and beverage fridges on every level of the home. When you want more fresh air, the beach is a short five minute walk from the driveway and there are beach chairs, kayak and wheeled trolly available for you to use for your day on the water. It's always vacation time at our house.
