Our new glass-front Aframe cabin was completed in March of 2020. It’s modern appeal includes a master bedroom downstairs, a loft bedroom upstairs, and a sofa couch in the living area for a comfortable stay of 6 people. The unit also includes a beautiful wet room, clawfoot tub, wood pellet stove, kitchenette, and private deck. Set 6 feet off the forest floor, this naturally lit cabin has an especially enchanting canopy view of Resurrection Bay.brbrSalted Roots Cabins offers 5 private nightly units.brbrThe property is located on the beachfront of Lowell Point. Our cabin is set back in an old growth spruce forest, with fiddleheads, blueberries, and fireweed growing wild during the summer. brbrYou space is modern, clean, and caters to the new generation of adventure travelers. We are remote without being remote. brbrWith views of the mountains and steps from the beach, you can have the luxury of wifi and comfortability in your own little hideaway. Come indulge in privacy will having all of the modern amenities you might need.brbrGuests have the entire glass-front cabin to themselves. There is also a shared sauna and firepit on property for guest use, as well as garden beds (feel free to use in your summer evening cooking!). For Salted Roots guests, we do recommend having a car to tour around Alaska. brbrHow can I get from Anchorage International Airport to Seward brbrThere are regularly scheduled bus transfers from Anchorage International Airport or downtown Anchorage, via the Park Connection. Each yurt features a comfortable queen bed with thoughtfully chosen linens (including pillows, sheets, comforters) and a double futon, a well-appointed kitchen, a private bathroom with a shower (with hot water) and a modern compost toilet, a propane fireplace for comfort, and a private deck with Adirondack chairs and a grill. Enjoy whale watching, kayaking, fishing and hiking; or just sit back, relax and observe wildlife from your private deck - a very special Alaska experience. brbrGuests have 24/7 access to all of our non-motorized watercraft, including sea kayaks, paddle boards (SUP), skiff boat, plus fishing gear and snorkeling gear. brGuests can kayak to a nearby salmon stream and stunning waterfall within the protected waters of Humpy Cove; paddle SUP boards and row boats within the cove; fish off the island's dock; explore tide-pools and the intertidal zone around the island with our snorkeling gear; and observe marine wildlife from their private deck, including Orca and Humpback whales, harbor seals, harbor porpoise, Steller sea lions, sea and river otters, and bald eagles. brbrGuests are provided with private water transportation to and from the property. On the 1-hour journey (9 miles across Resurrection Bay, departing from the Seward small-boat harbor) enjoy stunning views and frequent wildlife sightings. brbrGuests need only bring their food and drink and enjoy their home cooking in a majestic setting surrounded by ocean vistas and snow-capped mountains. Guests often prepare fish that are caught on the island during their stay. And many guests end their day around our community campfire. brbrOn check-in day: Guests will be picked up in the small boat harbor in Seward, AK, at 12:30pm for a 1pm departure to our property (2pm arrival). brOn check-out day: guests will depart the island at 10am for arrival in Seward at 11am.

Our cozy, 260 sqft cabin (tiny home) is nestled below the base of Lost Lake Trail Head under the rainforest canopy, surrounded by towering trees in a quiet, forested neighborhood. The cabin is a perfect retreat for those looking connect with nature. Hike, bike, ski or snow-machine in the winter from your front door!brbrAs you approach the cabin, you'll notice the charming front porch and surrounding woods. Your hosts live on the property and are available for any and all questions. We provide locally roasted coffee and tea . Our cabin is an efficiency unit of about 260 sq feet including the loft bedroom, small kitchenette, living space and bathroom.brbrThe loft, accessible by ladder, features a comfortable queen-sized bed with sloping ceilings and plenty of natural light. Our cabin is perfect for couples but we can accommodate up to 3 with the pull-out couch. That being said, this is a very small cabin and more than two guest can feel tight. It is heated by a Toyo stove, has a small yet functional kitchenette, equipped with everything you need to whip up a delicious meal, including a mini-fridge, stove top burner, microwave, pour over coffee pot, tea kettle and basic cooking utensils/spices/cooking oil. There's also a small extendable dining bar with stools, perfect for intimate meals or a game of cards.brbrOutside the cabin, you'll find a covered outdoor dining area, complete with a grill, picnic table and large fire pit with seating. Cozy up with a book or roast marshmallows under the stars! (Or midnight sun)
