The place was amazing. The pictures and description in the ad are exactly like it is in person. We enjoyed a nice dinner in the dining area and played cards all night. The patio has an amazing view of the ocean. It was so nice to fall asleep hearing the ocean waves and then waking up to the waves as well. The owner was great, he answered all questions and even gave me hi phone number in case i needed anything while there. 5 Stars.

Rich is a fantastic host. Very attentive to all my questions and concerns. He would usually respond within minutes of sending a message. A view from the balcony to die for. Golf cart is an absolute necessity. Especially since the golf cart rental in Avalon would cost $60 per hour. The Vons grocery store is very nice and has everything you could possibly need. I would rent this villa again in the future.

The Manager Richard always responded to any questions i had and i was always able to get a hold of his assistant Veronica. My stay was PHENOMINAL!!!!!

Beautiful property with amazing views of the ocean. The property was very safe and super quiet for us. The unit had everything we needed. The golf cart was a big plus so that we easily had transportation to get around the island. It was fun putting around with it. Great comminication from our host and a lovely trip!

Communication about the flight of stairs should be more in detail. I loved the view, enjoyed with the peace and quiet.

The villa was in a perfect spot... about a 10 minute golf cart ride from the center of town (I would recommend staying away from the main part of the island. Some hotels and rooms say that they are resorts or within walkind distance of the shops... Dont go there) I slept to the sounds of the waves moving to the seashore. Nice bedroom, den, kitchen and bathroom. I was able to get some AWESOME pics from the balcony... just the perfect spot. The food in the restaurants seemed a little bland to me and the others who were with me, so we went to the little grocery store and cooked our own food. The kitchen had pretty much had everything we needed. Golf cart rentals on the island were $50 per hour, so I was elated that the rental of this villa came with a golf cart and parking slot already in the package. Gas was about $6.57 per gallon. We used the cart everyday and went all over the big part of the island twice. At the end of our stay, I refilled the tank and it only took about $8.60 (less than a gallon and a half!) NOW, THE BAD... I did NOT like the thin and uncomfortable matress on the couch. It did not provide any support or comfort. There were ants in the bathroom and the kitchen, but there was spray in the closet, so i was able to deal with them fairly quickly. The dishwasher was not in the best shape, so I washed any dishes that I used by hand. All in all... I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND a visit to the island, but especially if you can stay in these particular villas!

We liked the proximity to the ocean and the view. Also, the golf cart rental for the weekend was a big plus! Communication about available amenities was TERRIBLE and completely lacking. While I realize that we're in a Covid pandemic, we paid WAY TOO MUCH for this property not to have better communication and transparency on what would be available and what would not. There was no SPA as it does not exist at this condo: no massages, facials, ect. Only jacuzzi, pool, and maybe sauna but they were CLOSED. Also, the GYM was not open. CLOSED again. The owner of our condo did not seem to be on site, either, so he tried to communicate with us through email about a renegotiation on a late check out (literally the night before our check out). Turns out that one of his other clients really needed our room so we had to be kicked out by 12:30 ish. He was willing to put us up in a different room, but there was drama about the whole thing with him. He literally contacted us on my email on Saturday evening but I told him that I was celebrating my 18 year anniversary with my hubby, and I did not have reception on our 8.2 mile hike during the day. The last thing I wanted to do was keep looking at my email and worry about a trip that was already set. He tried to work with us, but it really seemed like too little, too late. He was literally interrupting our anniversary dinner over this whole drama that took place over a string of texts on a weekend that should have been free of this drama.

The view was amazing. we had a problem using the TV's as the system was new to us.

We love the experience start to finish. Beautiful layout gorgeous view and great customer service even before we got there. Clean and well managed place. The stairs were a bit rough but probbaly good for us at the same time. The front door was tricky to figure out.

We enjoy our stay here every year! Great host and great property. Highly recommend.

Best view on the property

My wife and I spent 3 wonderful nights at this exquisite oceanfront 1 bedroom apartment. Our adult joined us for one night and slept on the comfortable pull out couch. The accommodations were perfect, with a comfortable bed, full kitchen that was well stocked, a large bathroom, and a large outdoor deck. It was great having access to the golf-cart that took us into town, to all the sights and wonderful hiking trails. The host was a pleasure to work with and very welcoming! We hope to be back soon!

We have stayed in several condos but have come back to this one as it is our favorite. This condo is well stocked with anything you might need and much more. We will be back again and again. Pictures can’t capture the serene beauty of this property! It’s a Nice big, clean place with wonderful balcony, nice views and a golf cart! I stayed two nights, next time it will be more like 4 days or more! Rich provided a super easy check in and excellent friendly communication! Definitely will be back again! Wow - images certainly do not do this place justice. Rich's unit is the perfect location for views, access to clubhouse amenities, and the golf cart/beach and it offered the perfect space with comfy living areas and the balcony we spent most of our time on (the neighbors are nice too :)). Loved that the quiet private community was a short distance away from crowds and parties when you were ready to call it a night. Rich was very communicative to ensure our arrival was smooth and instructions/tips were clear. Will definitely return soon.

Very close to the ocean with a beautiful view from the common area and bedroom. The property owner is extremely responsive and very nice. He checked up to make sure everything worked out perfectly leading up to my stay, during check-in, and at check-out. Thanks you very much, Rich!

Great property! Loved the views! Loved sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evenings! We had everything we needed. The golf cart was great to have, it was a hit with the kids! A peaceful retreat despite being full that weekend! We will definitely be back!

I only have one complaint is on Wednesday when we went down to town came back to condo and door was wide open they asked if we were staying there I replied yes I asked why my door was open they said they have a master key to enter they wanted to go in and turn up the hot water I said this isn’t except able I have lots of cash and valuables inside and I don’t appreciate you guys just going inside without asking me first I told them I paid a lot of money to stay here and don’t appreciate them just opening door

We absolutely love Catalina, this was our first visit to Hamilton Cove and it definately wont be our last. Sunrise coffee was may favorite part, the view is amazing. Rich is a wonderful host.

From the start Rich made sure that our stay was absolutely incredible, from working with us to help ensure a speedy and easy check in/check out to the quality of the place. Cannot say enough about how incredible it was and how great Rich is! Will definitely be staying there again!!

The condo has the perfect location. The decor is in need of updating. Did not feel the furniture was clean to sit on. No sheets for the pull out were available. Inside cabinets were dirty with trash was left behind inside of them. Not sure if maid service is looking for that. AC only exists on a portable unit in the living room with no instructions on its use. Toilet feels it’s ready to fall off the wall. The home owner really should visit the property for a thorough walk through.

Hosts are amazing. Location is perfect. And use of the golf cart really makes the experience! Highly recommend.

It was really nice to get away to Catalina. We have stayed in Hamilton Cove years ago with friends. The place was nice, but really needs some TLC. It was clean but everything was out dated and needed some drywall repairs and paint. Richard was so nice to us that we got an early check in. We will do another trip with friends in the future.

My stay at this property was wonderful. The property was cozy and relaxing and all of the views were beautiful. It was fully stocked with everything we needed and the use of the golf cart was a huge bonus! This was our first time on the island and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our family. We were able to sit on the balcony and watch the kids at the beach or playing sand volleyball. We unitized the heated pool, hot tub and gym. Having the golf cart as a part of the reservation was key! Property Manager was very helpful with making our stay comfortable and easy!

Great location. Needs some TLC. Kitchens appliances old and damaged. Proliferation of ants, especially in the bed. Lots of junk in all the cupboards. Golf cart needed attention.

We had a great time staying at Hamilton Cove. It is a very nice and secure complex with great amenities. Be aware that the condo is accessed by about two flights of stairs from the road above and three flights from below. There is a million dollar view from the balcony that we never got tired of. Watching the sunrise rise each morning was a treat. Rich, the property host, was friendly, attentive and accommodating. Communication was quick and clear. Generally the condo was comfortable, clean and well stocked. We were surprised that there was no bar soap provided. We planned to shop for some groceries so that was easy for us to rectify. There were some ants primarily in the kitchen and bathroom. We were cautious with our food and toiletries so they never caused a serious issue. We found the tile shower to be quite slippery but we countered that by putting a bath towel down to stand on. A rubber mat would be a nice addition. The dishwasher didn’t appear to have been working properly. I could see a lot of detergent residue inside and it had a funky smell when it was opened. There wasn’t any dishwasher detergent anyway so we just left it closed and hand washed the dishes we used. It wasn’t a big deal for us but could be for folks that plan to cook a lot. Bottom line, we would happily return to Hamilton Cove and Rich’s condo.

I have rented some lovely VRBO homes. I do expect a certain standard, when I pay a lot of money and the stay in this apartment failed to live up to normal expectations. Oh boy, does this owner know how to charge! $100 Extra to check in a few hours early. Extra to hire a crib for a baby, an extra $100 if you fail to fill up the golf cart tank. It took $6 in fuel, when we filled it up. Very abrupt text messages from owner when we asked a question. I expect a certain standard and do not expect ants to be all over the kitchen. Owner clearly knew about them as ant bait is in the laundry room. Cleaners were waiting outside the apartment 15 mins before check out time, clearly rushing us out. Catalina is lovely, but I would not stay in this apartment again.

Our 6th anniversary. Spent a week and could have used a few more days. Last time at Hamilton Cove/Catalina was about 9 yrs ago in an upper unit. Being in a lower unit was great as we always could here the ocean!

Booked this place for the 2nd time for a 4 day stay with grandsons. Perfect location to be away from town when cruise ships arrive. Golf cart is a lot of fun and makes it easy to see more of the island. Richard is a great host. Will definitely book again!

This condo was very cute and had all you would need in a full kitchen, king-size bed, and family room. You need to be comfortable driving a golf cart everywhere, since this location is not close enough or safe to walk to town. The golf cart was older and emitted quite a few fumes...maybe time to upgrade it?

We enjoyed our stay immensely! The peaceful setting and gorgeous views were so relaxing! There was always something to see out beyond the railing of the balcony; a variety of boats, kayaks, swimmers, birds and people watching. We enjoyed the private cove for great snorkeling and even though the beach is rocky, wearing water shoes or sandals made it navigable. There are shaded tables and bbq’s in the common area at the beach level. The condo was well equiped for home cooking including a nice bbq. The washer/dryer was appreciated. The bedroom can be closed off for late sleepers and the bed was very comfortable. Of course the ‘free’ golf cart was the deal closer! It was dependable and we took many long rides on the scenic routes. It was so convenient to get to the market and restaurants. ( carts in town rent for $65 an hour!) We fueled the day we left, we used less than a gallon! We would definitely stay in this property again.
