Ak Villa-Akumal Bay, the ONLY villa on the prettiest beach in Paradise!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the third time we've stayed at Villa Taj Kumal. Once again, it was the perfect vacation! The house is the perfect size for the 12 of us. It is absolutely beautiful. Most of our time was spent at the pool. It is well maintained. I loved that the privacy wall has been lowered so you can look out to the ocean but yet still have privacy. The grounds keeper and housekeeping staff do a wonderful job. The rooms were cleaned daily and they were accommodating to our requests. David, the manager, was very helpful to us as well. We appreciated that there is 24hr security at the house. The location of the house is also a main attraction for us. No need to rent a car because everything we needed was within walking distance. Almost every morning we walked to Loncheria Alumalito for breakfast. I highly suggest the french toast and scrambled eggs with chorizo. La Buena Vida has a great ocean view while having dinner. The moonlight on the water was beautiful. La Cueva del Pescador has the best margaritas! I suggest the seafood soup while enjoying your margarita. Taverna Akumal is a new Italian restaurant with great food and a great atmosphere. Turtle Bay Cafe and bakery is also a great place. Lol-Ha has a great ocean view but the food is okay. Imelda's Ecocina is open for breakfast and lunch. It is tucked away so not real noticeable when you're walking around but keep looking for it! It had the best fish tacos! Next to the restaurants is a small area with local vendors if you're in the mood for shopping. If you're looking for shopping like the shops in Playa del Carmen then this is not the place for you. It was the perfect vacation for family and friends and I can't wait to go back again. I love Akumal and I wouldn't think about staying anywhere else besides the Taj Kumal.

The location is perfect for swimming and snorkeling right out the back door. The beach is beautiful. The pool is perfect for lounging around in the afternoon and has plenty of shaded areas for those who have had enough sun. We love being able to walk to the Lol-Ha for lunch and to Turtle Bay for breakfast or dinner. Our rental golf carts came in handy for getting to destinations a bit further away. It's the most exotic yet simple and relaxing villa we have found. Myrna and her staff are very good to work with and take care of any needs that may come up. We would recommend anyone to stay at the Villa Taj Kumal. We plan to return!

The staff at the house are wonderful. The house is spotless and the pool is kept clean. The snorkeling was awesome and we got a lot of use out of the kayak. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen making cocktails to enjoy at the pool and pigging out on the food we purchased at Sam's in Playa. We heard the TajKumal will be a B&B next year. We were disappointed to hear that. We love staying there and had planned on doing it every year. We still love Akumal and plan on going next year. It's a short walk to restaurants, bars, dive shop, market, bakery and more. I have teenage boys so it allows them a little freedom and me peace of mind because Akumal is a safe, small community. Enjoy and look forward to going back next year.

Reviewer Comments: The location was the best part but I think you need to clarify that the guest house is above the other unit above the garage because you made it sound like it was a place next to the pool. The cleaning personel were very nice but you should tell guests ahead of time about the suggested 5% tip which I think is very high.

Reviewer Comments: The Taj Kumal has so many wonderful features: Close to the beach for fabulous snorkeling and swimming, a beautiful pool and very clean, inviting accomodations with very unique decor. We had 9 adults staying at the Taj Kumal and everyone felt very comfortable with the space. We will stay there again!
