Comfortable and clean with no fancy frills

    3/5 Stayed Oct 1, 2016

this room within a large home converted into a guest boarding house, was an affordable, comfortable, clean, 2 nite stay for my husband and I in Brooklyn. It offered a great bed for sleeping, which took up most of the small room, and a t.v., but no other frills, bells or whistles. As indicated you could bring your own food and cook, but the fridge was packed , yet, I did squeeze in what I had bought, Someone else was cooking, and our being vegans, it became unpleasant for me to stay in the house, unable to handle the smell of the early - morning fried meat. I was able to heat up some soup. Also, the room had a space heater, which helped to take the chill off of the room. However, the dry air was a little challenging to my throat. The owner, Ms. Christine and her family member were very pleasant, checking on us to see if we had arrived safely, and checked to see if we had a good experience upon leaving. . The home also had some little family members who peeped their heads into the common kitchen area, to shyly, check on us too. It appears that this boarding opportunity is somewhat new to them all, as a few essential things they did not have on hand, and we went out and bought them However, the next morning, the owner did provide things like toilet paper, and a mat for the bathroom. I wasn't sure if the advertisement asked us to bring our own towels and wash cloths, but, we didn't have them and had to go purchase them. Otherwise, the space is very quiet, as indicated and parking is not abundant, as indicated,. However, if you ride around for a few minutes, you will find a spot. For the price, and if you just want a good nite's rest, it will do the job.
