Vacation in peace and quiet on a beach so empty it's as if it were your own. If you love nature and the feel of being away from it all, Broadkill Beach is the right place for you. Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge runs all along the small unincorporated community of Broadkill. However, if you need them, a grocery store, several restaurants, Dogfish Head Brewery (free tours and tastings), the Milton Library (there's a park behind it, right on the Broadkill River, with new playground equipment) and the restored 105+-year-old Milton Theater (featuring live theater, musical and comedy acts and movies), Puttin' on the Ritz beauty salon, and McDonald's, are all located in the quaint historic town of Milton and only a 15 minute drive away. Within 20 to 30 minutes (not including traffic, which can be rough in summer - which is why we like Milton!) there are plenty more restaurants, outlet shopping, a movie theater, Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk with rides for kids of all ages, arcades, fries, candy, popcorn, and a vibrant night life, Lewes Beach, and Cape Henlopen State park. Our two bedroom, one and a half bath home is recently remodeled and upgraded. It is directly bayfront, just steps down the wooden path (so you don't get those sand burrs in your feet) and over the dune to the beach! Cute, cozy bungalow with all the comforts of home and necessary appliances, too. Two bedrooms - one queen bed and one twin bunk bed. There is also a queen air mattress for extra sleeping space, since we no longer have a sleeper sofa. Features a large wraparound deck and a ground level outdoor shower. No need to bring your own towels (bath or beach), sheets, blankets or pillowcases - we supply those! There are binoculars and a telescope for watching dolphins, planets, birds, ships on the bay and more. The house is on pilings, so main living area is up one flight of stairs. Part of the lower level has been enclosed and finished and includes two rooms, accessible from the outside, one with laundry facilities and a half bath, the other is currently used for storage of many of the fun extras like beach chairs, sand toys, fishing poles, etc. Easy check in, no worries here. Host is available 24/7 by email or cell phone, although we would prefer you reserve the 2 AM phone calls for emergencies only, please : ) Let us know before you arrive if you have any special requests and we will do our best to accommodate.

The house was perfect for us and we loved the location. We stayed for a long weekend with our 1 year old baby. It was cozy and comfortable and so nice to have the beach gear to use! There is a high chair and lots of toys- our baby was very entertained! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Would love to stay here again. Thank you!

Everything went well. Perfect location. Beach supplies were a real plus. Kitchen and bedroom supplies were more than adequate. Only minor request would be for warmer, less obtrusively bright lights in the dining area fixture.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is very comfortable and well maintained. In less than two minutes you are on the beach. This past week we only saw a few other people on the beach. What a treat! It’s an easy drive into Lewes with great little shops and restaurants.

Such a perfect getaway! Very relaxing and peaceful. Owners were helpful and communicative and I would totally book again. The only downside might be limited sleeping accommodations if you have a larger family but you could bring a cot or air mattress. So much to do nearby with Henlopen and Rehobeth and Lewes that we had endless fun. Such a gorgeous area.

This is one of the cleanest cottages I've been in - even the windows are pristine. It's spacious (for a family of 3) and very well organized.Special mentions go to: - the beach! Private access, wonderful sandy shore, deep enough for adults, waves just right for kids, literally empty. In the evening, the view of the stars was 360*, we brought a pro telescope with us, never regretted it. - the facilities! All appliances imaginable, everything new, nothing broken - and sparkling. - Entertainment! Toys, games, sand toys, kids' outdoor games, kayaks, books, you name it. - our hosts! Very accommodating and agreeable people, we had all our questions answered very promptly, it was a delight.Interesting fact: I've never lived in a house on stilts. It sways a little when the wind blows, or when people walk. After a quick googling we figured out it was okay and completely normal, and it was a fun experience. Definitely recommend, we will probably come again!

This was the best VRBO I have stayed at. Linda was so great to deal with and was always available to answer any of our concerns. The house was the perfect location with an amazing deck to enjoy the view of the ocean. It was stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. Fires on the beach just made the whole trip complete. Would highly recommend this beautiful beach house.

Everything about this property is fantastic! It was super clean, and the owners were easy to communicate with. We took advantage of the many amenities of the place - my husband and I used the two person kayak and we went surf fishing two of the nights. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet, and super friendly. It is close to so many great things- on our short trip we went to the Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge (and saw a bald eagle!), the Lewes Farmers market, a few antique stores, Cape Henlopen State Park (including nature center, Fort Miles, and walking the fishing pier) and grabbed ice cream in Milton. We plan on making this an annual trip!

This one one of the cleanest places we've ever stayed at. The kids room was equipped with toys a little play kitchen that my youngest enjoyed every day. You can tell that every detail was carefully thought out - there was a small gift for each of my kids (chalk and other small toys) and then a chocolate for my husband and I in our room. It really was the sweetest! I highly recommend staying here. The beach was just up the hill. It is a bay beach, which is great if you have littles. Sadly it was a bit overtaken by horseshoe crabs when we were there, which scared my youngest, so we didn't get to spend too much time there, but again, the hosts supplied so many beach toys and blankets that you do not have to worry. You are far away from town to feel like you are getting a break from everything, but close enough that you don't feel isolated. If you are looking for a quiet family getaway - this is the place.

We fell in love with our stay in Broadkill Beach. The home welcomed us with warmth and charm—thoughtfully prepared with everything we needed for a perfect escape. The space radiated a peaceful energy that stayed with us long after we left. Our hosts were kind, attentive, and gracious, adding to the comfort of it all.A beautiful place, a beautiful feeling. Thank you, truly.

My husband and I needed a few days away after a hectic and crazy summer. The house is on the bay side. The backyard is mainly a sand dune with a path right to the water. Our first morning there we watched a beautiful sunrise from the deck while having coffee. The check in with Linda went very smoothly. I only had to reach out once because we couldn't figure out the cable TV and she answered immediately. The amenities provided were fantastic. If I had to say anything negative it would be that there isn't a TV in the master bedroom.

This is all about location, location, location. Literally, just steps from the beach. Broadkill Beach may be on the open bay, but it feels more like a calm ocean setting. The few people and doggie companions we met on the beach, were friendly and respectful of our privacy. Long, quiet afternoons, just us and the crabs. Read up on horseshoe crabs for details. The house is spotless, and easy to enjoy, with a deck, outdoor grill, laundry facilities, all the kitchen gadgets you'll need, etc. Bring enough groceries and stay for the week! Our host was very welcoming, and available for any suggestions and/or questions.

Lovely beach house, short private walk to Broadkill Beach which was empty apart from walkers. Beach is a natural beach so if you are looking for groomed sand you’ll need to go to Rehoboth or Lewes. We loved walking the beach each day - saving horseshoe crabs and watching the wildlife. The beach house is well equipped, comfy and well placed in a quiet area (we were there in Sept). The hosts are generous, attentive and kind. It’s a wonderful place if you want a peaceful retreat after a busy trip as we had! Thank you Linda and Lance for a fab stay.

The Broadkill Beach House is exactly as described in the thumb nail on the VRBO website.....a Secluded Retreat....and much more! We found a very comfortable, open and airy house raised up on pilings with a terrific wrap around deck, overlooking the beach and water. We saw a beautiful sunrise on our first morning! The house included a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and plenty of extras e.g. beach chairs and toys for kids and a kayak. A washer and dryer were also available, although we didn't use them during our 4 night stay. Best of all, our hosts, Linda and Lance M., were very responsive to our questions through texts and telephone conversations. They provided recommendations for area restaurants, and various attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the Delaware beaches, and look forward to returning in the near future.

Linda is an amazing host and gave wonderful recommendations. She was also very flexible. The house is super kid friendly with toys and games and Linda even left goodies for the kids (and adults!). Everything you need is provided, so we didn’t have to bring beach towels, chairs, linens or boogie boards. The private beach is well worth the stay. The only recommendation we would have is to update some of the furniture, but it was not a problem for us at all. Thank you Linda!
