Stayed Jul 22, 2023We stayed in the ground floor apartment, in a beautiful and well-kept garden. The hostess, her son and her husband gave us a warm welcome and were a great help to us. The place itself and the pool are very clean and nice, and we had a wonderful and peaceful holiday there. There are lots of interesting places to go to in the surrounding area. The neighbourhood was not so clean (garbage along the streets), but that was the case almost everywhere in Sicily.

Stayed Aug 10, 2019We have just spent a very enjoyable week at Case di Bacco in it's unique location. Our 2 bedroom appartment was ideal and well equipped for our family of 4 with wifi (much appreciated by our teenagers) and air con (very welcome coming in from 33 degree heat some days). The gardens surrounding the appartment are beautiful and you get a great view of Etna whilst relaxing by the pool. Gabriella, Alfio and Ricardo were very attentive and friendly hosts and happy to advise on places to see and eat. One of the most enjoyable and memorable days of our week was the excursion up to Etna which Alfio took us on in his jeep. Alfio and his son Ricardo were able to give us a tour of north Etna and introduced us to some of the excellent food specialities of the region. Zafferano Etnea is a very lively local town which had entertaining music and dancing going on around the main square in the week we were there. We also enjoyed and were very impressed by the sites and culture at Catania, Taormina and Syracuse. You definitely need a car to explore this area as the property is quite remote. For those that enjoy relaxing with great views, eating good food, drinking good local wine and exploring sites of architectural/archaelogical significance, this is a great holiday! Many thanks Gabriella, From the Halls

Stayed Jun 3, 2019We had a wonderful stay. The garden and surrounds were beautiful, as was the view of Etna. Whilst calm and peaceful there were a number of excellent restaurants and wineries within a short drive. It was also super convenient to visit a number of key attractions as it was just of the express way. The host family were incredibly welcoming and accommodating whilst respecting privacy. We are planning to visit again soon as we thoroughly enjoyed the property and Sicily.

Stayed Jun 5, 2018The property is beautifully located in a lemon grove with distant views of the sea on one side and Etna on the other. Gabriella and her family made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed the home grown produce - lemons, cherries, local wine and the new laid eggs from the chickens. Gabriella even baked us a pistachio cake! It was very peaceful sitting in the lovely garden and having a swim in the pool after a hectic day of sightseeing. The property is well located for visiting Etna and the centres of Taormina and Catania. It felt home from home and I have no hesitation in recommending this property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Stayed Apr 9, 2017With 2 small children (2&3 yr) we stayed 1 week in this house with the beautiful garden. It is a great location for several day trips nearby. We enjoyed the garden so much, with the view on the Etna and the sea. The kids loved the tree house, the swing, and the chicken! Gabriela and her family are very hospitable. Thank you again Gabriela, and all the best to you and your family!

Stayed Oct 13, 2016We have stayed in Le Casa di Bacco 5 days and it was a great experience! First of all, we have been welcomed with homemade wine, delicious pistachio cake, limoncello, marmolades which was a very nice surprise :) Gabriele and her husband are very charming and friendly people that were always available in case we would need some support. Moreover, the location is perfect, on one hand very quiet and peaceful and on the other hand close to Catania or Taormina, so great base for one-day trips in Sicily by car. The house is big enough for 2-4- persons. The garden is very cosy and it is a pleasure to spend evening there. It is also a very convenient location in case someone would like to visit Etna as the location from which you can get a cable car for Etna is around 20 mins by car. Overall, we would highly recommend Le Casa di Bacco!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed here for two weeks. The welcome was warm with a bowl of fresh fruit, a clean house and a bottle of home-made wine. If you are looking for a real rustic sicilian experience, excellently placed for a myriad of road-trips to Etna, Catania, the sea and inland, this is the place to be. Every week, Alfio bakes fresh pizza's in his own brick-kiln, made from Etna lava stones, using the best ingredients, home grown and locally availlable. In sicily, that means 'really really good'.
