Relaxing Retreat - Steps to the Beach, Gorgeous Views & Private Dock

I couldn't be happier with the property and location! The dock area is perfect for crabbing and catching a few fish, and the walk to the beach is very easy and just as described. The house is clean and very nice... perfect for a wonderful getaway!

The views from the place were stunning. The house itself was beautifully decorated & full of sunlight. It was absolutely perfect for the relaxing weekend we were going for. We even had the beach to ourselves.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house! The view from the back deck is truly unbeatable. We took the kayaks out along the marsh at sunset, wow!! The house has everything you need and is lovely and comfortable. The only thing to note is that the master bedroom has huge windows facing the sunrise and a skylight, so the room gets bright very early. Just something to be aware of - bring your sleep mask :-)

We had a wonderful week immersed in nature! The bird watching was first rate and the fishing was amazing. The wide open views at the back of the house were perfect and the very short walk to the beach just right. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. This quiet neighborhood away from the typical hustle and bustle and traffic of our past beach vacations was just what we needed. We'll definitely be back.

This was out first visit to DE beaches and we will be back! The house and location far exceeded our expectations! The interior was bright, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. I especially loved the upstairs loft which was a great reading nook. The back deck was great, and bikes and kayaks were also on hand...but the real star was the dock! We spent as much time there as we could. The beach was very close and quite secluded. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet oasis in this very noisy world. We also had a bird-watcher in our group who loved using the binoculars provided for new sightings every day. The property owner was OUTSTANDING to work with and answered my every question promptly and in great detail. I knew we would be in good hands and we certainly were.

Great location, with short walk to the beach. Loved the views and the private dock. We did lots of bird watching and kayaking. The house had everything we needed to have a great family time week.

Booked this location because it was on the nature preserve with ocean access just a short walk from the property. This gave our family more things to do. We enjoyed crabbing right off the dock along with the canoes for exploring the river. The beach path was about 80 steps from the front of the property and the neighborhood gave a quiet laid back vibe. The ocean access is to Broadkill Beach which unbeknownst to us is a horseshoe crab sanctuary. We had plans for beach days during our stay, but had to travel to nearby beaches due to the abundance of marine life activity at the beach. The beach is not busy with people which I like;however, there are lots of horseshoe crabs decaying on the beach which attract other insects and flies. The beach also has a lot of ghost crabs and dogfish sharks. We enjoyed walking along the beach when the horse flies werent bothersome and checking out the marine life. Its not a beach our family would want to swim at but some people were in the water. On the other hand the house was nice and private. It had wonderful views of the nature preserve. We saw lots of different birds and it was very peaceful. The house has an updated kitchen which was nice along with central air. If your into bird watching this is the place for you!

Wonderful stay would rent again

Bright & airy with lovely views. Very clean with tasteful and relaxing decor. We enjoyed bird watching on the back deck and strolling on the beach. We spent time at Cape Henlopen State Park, and took the ferry to Cape May just to enjoy the ride. It was a perfect retreat for us.

Whether you’re heading to the beach across the street or enjoying the marshes in the backyard, this home is an oasis all around! Interior is comfortable and homey, with lots of natural light. Would love to come back!

Beautiful property with expansive views of the marsh. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the birds and deer in the distance. The beach is a very quick walk across the street and it's nice and quiet. Neighborhood is very quiet. We drove to Lewes for all our meals and loved that town ... so quaint! Great food there. As for the house, the renovated kitchen is amazing, and the main living area is very comfortable. The rest of the house is dated but totally adequate for a stay. Everything was clean. Communicating with the owner was great.

We had an amazing time - the house offers commanding views of the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, overflowing with wildlife. We watched osprey, heron, and hawks from the kitchen table. We swam with harmless moon jellyfish in the bay. We kayaked from the back dock into the wildlife refuge where we snuck up on birds and saw tiny crabs skittering over the low tide mudflats. Around the area, we also enjoyed the nature center at Cape Henlopen, a beach day with boardwalk in Rehoboth, and hiking in the Wildlife Refuge. An incredible experience for our whole family!

Great setting for a quiet, private, nature filled escape! Home is roomy and efficient, casual and comfy. Owners were very considerate and helpful -- kayaks and bikes available!

Had a terrific time at Broadkill Beach! House was great; clean and comfortable, well appointed, and plenty of space. Very secluded setting for the area. The dock out back was a great place to just sit and watch the wildlife. Having the kayacks was a huge bonus, we spent plenty of time exploring the marsh. The beach was just across the street and was clean and quiet, hardly anyone there. Had a nice time exploring Milton as well. Great trip, we couldn't be happier with or stay!
