The space
This property is centrally located on 17th Street between the Balboa and Newport Beach piers. You can walk or ride bikes to anywhere on the peninsula from this home. The best thing about this location is that you are a 5-15 minute walk to over 20+ restaurants, shopping, the balboa fun zone, boat rentals, all while staying at the beach.

For those of you with kids, Balboa Park is just across the street on the bay making this home an ideal location for families.

    You’re set in the rear upper apartment, kitchen and dining/living room area looks out over the beach’s and ocean. It was actually better being set back from the beach as all the other “beachfront” properties get a constant flow of people walking or cycling past (literally at touching distance) on the main beach path. Good size rooms with open kitchen / Dining / Living area. Felt safe and very private, would suit someone wanting a little peace and quiet, couples or a small family, very clean and well equipped. Garage and outside private patio / dining area and BBQ. Surfboards, Bodyboards, Boogie boards, Bicycles etc. Easy access to the beach and great parking, nice neighbourhood and friendly neighbours. Five minutes walk to the Pier and bars etc. Overall a very easy place to stay at, all communications and instructions regarding the property and its use were all pretty straightforward. Hope to go back!!

    When we walked into the unit we were so excited for such a close stay to the beach, only to be surprised by the raging inferno of a beachfront property with zero AC. I can't believe for the life of me that any place in Newport Beach doesn't have AC. The house was clean, perfect and the beach equipment was readily available.

    We had a great time and enjoyed our stay! The condo was clean, but smelled as if someone had recently smoked in the unit. Great customer service, and would recommend Tower 17.

    Very convenient to the beach and shops and restaurants. Walking path in front of the house was great for running/walking. Very convenient to have the beach towels, chairs, boogie boards and surf boards that came with the unit. The bikes are a plus too but 2 of them are not very usable. House was great with a nice view and ocean breezes. Overall, loved our stay!

    Not a bad spot for a few days. Having a parking spot in this part of Newport is a major plus. Place is small, but if you spend your days on the beach you don't need a lot of room. Place as hot at night (85`). This place really needs to come with a floor fan or two to push the ocean breeze back to the rooms. One bed had a bunch of sand in it when we showed up. Sheets looked washed and folded, so I'm guessing the sand came after that. You are so close to the beach that sand is everywhere, we just dealt with it. The neighborhood is very nice, but it gets loud at night because you have to have all the windows open in the summer so you hear everyone yelling or playing music while cruising by the beach boardwalk. The neighbors were having a good shouting match that woke us up. If this place had a floor fan, we could have gotten the temp down enough to shut the windows late at night. Garage space was nice and the outside shower was a nice spot to clean off. The bikes were a great touch IF THEY WORKED, as we always go for rides when in Newport. Two of the 4 bikes were in bad shape. The handle bar on one of them was so loose that I almost went ass over tea kettle when I mounted the bike. Kids had a laugh, but I did not feel like a trip to the E.R. The other bike was really rusted and hard to peddle. I had to turn back after a mile to get another bike, as I was running out of gas pushing a rusted bike around. Kitchen pans need an upgrade too, they were really scratched and worn.

    This is our third time renting the beach house. We were in the L.A. area for family events. We loved being steps from the beach again and appreciated the quieter time of year with fewer visitors. Once again checkin and checkout were very easy. I’m sure we’ll be back.

    My wife and I and our two adult children spent Thanksgiving week at this beach house, our second time renting here. The location is fantastic—right on the beach bike path only a few short blocks from the pier. We found everything in the kitchen we needed to make our holiday dinner for four and enjoyed walking to Charlie’s Chili, Sharkeez, and other restaurants and bars for other meals. We are so happy that this house allows us to bring our dog and that dogs are permitted on the beach in the mornings and late afternoons/evenings. We plan to return.
