Newer-Built Home ... Away From the Crowds, Close to the Sand! Lower Unit

Great property. Excellent location!

I will start by saying this is a great location. The house is fine, cheaply done, but clean enough and ok. Most importantly, there’s nothing worse than traveling all day and having to make up all of the beds upon arriving. I’ve NEVER had to make up our beds when arriving at a VRBO. Also, the sheets were awful, some of them were 100% polyester, they were thin and none of them were comfortable. One of the sets had stains on them and the beds were very uncomfortable. What bothered me the most was after reading the description on VRBO about the fact you need to bring your own towels and linens and that the sheets “weren’t 4 star”, I contacted the manager and asked if this was really the case? She assured me there were sheets and they were of the quality of something you would purchase at Bed Bath and Beyond or Macy’s and they absolutely were not! Also, there were blankets provided but none of them were big enough for the beds except the twin beds. Part of being on vacation is relaxing and sleeping in a comfortable bed. These were anything but. As mentioned in the description, supplies provided are extremely limited. Besides basic kitchen supplies, (dishes, utensils, pots and pans, Tupperware, etc.), there’s nothing except salt and pepper. There were 3 trash bags for a 7 night stay and a select number of dishwasher pods. For the bathrooms there were 4 bath towels for 4 people for 7 nights so we had to wash them. There was one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and no bath soap or shampoo or conditioner. For the washer and dryer there was a limited number of laundry soap pods and exactly 3 dryer sheets. We did appreciate the beach chairs and beach toys provided. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’d stay here again. I don’t want to make up my own beds upon arrival of a vacation, nor do I want to travel with a suitcase full of sheets. If you don’t mind making your own beds or bringing your own sheets and shopping for all of your basic necessities this place is ok.

Location location location! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this beautifully appointed home with easy access to the beach for long lazy days and the marina for stunning sunsets over the water. The neighborhood is beautiful for morning walks to the Wedge and evening walks into Balboa Village for ice cream. Kristen was quick to answer any questions and provided a lovely 'home away from home'. Thank you!!

This property was perfect for our Beach Vacation. It is a little further down the peninsula which meant quieter and fewer crowds. The house was clean and conveniently located; near the beach and only a few minute drive from restaurants and a grocery store. We have been coming to Balboa Island every year for the past 4 years and this was our favorite house we have stayed in so far.

Darling place with a fantastic beach vibe. Very comfortable and tasteful decor. We would rent again. Great kitchen and house for the 7 of us. Recommend renting bikes for the week. Really need to rent beach chairs as the chairs provided are in slow death. Beautiful, quiet and so relaxing!!

This home accurately fits the description and even exceeded our expectations. The host was outstanding, warm and welcoming. The house was comfortable and very clean. It is well stocked: the kitchen had everything we needed, there were plenty of linens - including beach towels - and even had things for the beach. A perfect place for our family. You won't be disappointed ... We'll be back!
