Stayed Dec 31, 1969The Brown House is lovely, very clean and well appointed. We loved the terrace on the upper floor. Breakfast and dinner there were wonderful experiences and the views of the sea and Chora were excellent. The rooms were spacious and very well (and tastefully) furnished. The owner was extremely helpful and kind, always willing to offer good tips and make our stay easy. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely come back.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My children rated our recent holiday as 1001% brilliant, and yes they do understand percentages.. ! I would say the same, altogether it was impossibly lovely and all that i could have i hoped for. The house was perfect for us, modest and clean with everything that one could need, beautifully situated on the edge of the old village, on the hill above the port. The views are great, the breezes welcome, you can take or leave the hustle and bustle of the village centre, it's lovely to wander the small pedestrian streets and alleyways. George and his family made us feel very welcome and were so kind and helpful throughout with our queries about beaches, travel, hiring a car. .. anything. It was good to have the car and it allowed us to explore the island; its too hot to walk far in summer though we did manage 25 mins down to the nearest beach, harder coming back up but perfectly possible ! The island is unspoilt, not over -touristy, even on the busyiest beaches and the sea - ?-just amazing, clean and sparkling. There is a feeling of the authentic, essential Greece here, with Greek hospitality that was really special and I am sure we will return. I don't hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed one month at Ikia's brown house and we felt like at home. The premise was very clean and well equiped, as mentionned in the announcement. We appreciated a lot the modern kitchen as well as the laundry machine and the clean towels and sheets every 5 days ! The mosquitos nets at every openings and the ceiling big fans are a plus. The view from the terrace is amazing, both towards the sea and the old village. A great spot to enjoy meals and quality time ! The house is ideally located because the place is peacefull but also close to the shops of the village. George and Anna are very special renters. During the preparation of our trip, George was very reactive to our questions via emails. He came to pick us up at the harbor. All along our stay, he and Anna were very discreet but in the mean time : on call when needed, welcoming, warm and open minded. If we can come back, our choice is made !! 5 stars !

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We came for the second time in Alonissos and we've decided to stay in the Chora to experience the life in the village. We choose the brown house from Ikia thanks to a suggestion received by a friend that has been there the year before. We have to say the house was a real discovery. The house is cozy with lot of comforts, well equipped, clean and fresh. We enjoyed the beautiful terrace with an unique view to the village and sea. The property is very near to the restaurants of the old village that you can reach with few steps walking in the middle of olives, grapes and plums trees. This house is also the best basis to start discovering the island that is simply astonishing. More than that the owners George and Anna give us warm welcome and loving attentions during all our stay making us feel as at home. If this summer we enjoyed our stay even more than the first time it was thanks to George and this house. Thank You George! Massimo & Stefania

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed at the Brown house of the Ikia Holiday Houses, with my husband, for 3 nights. The location of the house is amazing, since one can have an overview of the deep blue sea surrounding Alonissos, from the balconies of the 1st-floor bedroom. The property was impecably clean and fresh. Downstairs, apart from the bathroom, there is a fully-equipped brand new kitchen satisfying the needs even of the most demanding cooking aficionado: one can prepare a simple breakfast as well as a proper lunch/dinner. The sitting area is comfy with a well-thought layout, providing eating and lounging space for a couple or a family. In the same area, you can find a SONY CD player/tuner (incl.USB port) set and a traditional fireplace adding to the architectural value of the house. The bedroom upstairs was a revelation, under a high ceiling roof, quite roomy, with an extra bed/traditional vintage couch and two balconies with magificent views. The one overlooking the sea and the other one both the sea and the village of Alonissos (Horio). The second one is protected from the sun and wind with a tent and is large enough to have breakfast/lunch/dinner or just relax in the afternoon. What we particularly liked is the country style of the house, with every little detail taken care of. The owner, George Tsoukanas, was very welcoming and helped us out throughout our stay, whatever we might have asked for: tips for beaches, bars, restaurants etc. We even found a jar with organic honey, fresh fruits and bottled water in the fridge, proving the family atmosphere that the owner wishes his guests to experience. We highly recommend this property and we are looking forward to staying at the Ikia Vacation Houses the soonest possible. Thank you George for the hospitality!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Thanks to Anna and George, our kind and lovable host in Alonnisos. We had a wonderful stay for a few days in July at the brown house. Everything was even better than we imagined before: the house, the village and the fantastic landscape with its dramatic coasts, fresh green pine woods, its marvelous different beaches and the extremely clear and refreshing water - what a pleasure to swim. George gave us lots of useful information: where to eat and not to eat, the best places to swim and the nicest hiking trails. With his help, I think we found the best places and got a good and complete impression of the island, even if we stayed only for five days. The traditional but very comfortable house is situated in the quiet and idyllic lower part of Alonnisos, what is a very picturesque and well conserved old village on the top of a hill. From our shadowy terrace we enjoyed the fantastic views towards the flourishing village with all its bougainvillea, fig and walnut trees and, especially, the breathtaking view over the Aegean Sea towards Euboea Island with the dramatic silhouette of Mount Dirfi. The little house is very well equipped, super clean and everything is very fresh and new. The kitchen on the ground floor enabled us to prepare all our meals. One evening we even had a fresh fish dinner with eight persons on our first floor terrace. The great room on the first floor with its typical open roof truss is a very comfortable place to relax and to sleep. Because of the thick walls and the windows on two sides of the house there´s always a fresh breeze. And you can enjoy the wonderful views out of your bed. All in all the house fits very well our family (two adults, two children, 11 and 13). We passed some unforgettable days in a wonderful place. Everybody wants to come back, for sure. Anna also showed us the green house. It is the more traditional of the two houses and everything is painted in typical greek turquoise color. It is equipped with original traditional furniture like the alcove bed, wall cupboards, an old oven and original wooden ceilings. It´s also very cute. George explained to me, that his grandparents used to live in this part of the house whereas in the brown house, there was located their grocery store. We also could imagine to come back with our friends and share the two houses with two families. Josephine, Germany
