Our stay at Blackwoods' was excellent! Ted did a lovely job of making sure we had everything we needed. Lovely wooded beachfront experience.

Stayed 10 nights and the house is fantastic! Spacious, clean, well stocked for meal prep needs! Two fridges came in handy for our family gathering. Area is great for morning walks, grill available for cookouts, beach chairs and bikes were used often. Would highly recommend and the host was incredibly responsive.

We had a wonderful time and the property was better even than the listing. The home was beautiful. Very clean and wow was it stocked well. It was the best stocked kitchen I’ve ever stayed in. Pots and pans, dishes, etc. The house was really spacious. We loved everything about it. And the beach was spectacular! We hope to return again.

Our toddlers loved exploring the property and the proximity of the beach! Plenty of rocks and sand to play with! Great communication with Ted!

Great locationClean, well equipped home!

We booked this cabin as a getaway for my husbands family. It was perfectly located, clean, well-stocked, and the host was incredibly hospitable and responsive. The only slightly negative thing I could say about the cabin was that it is not as accessible for people with impaired mobility as it may seem in the listing. There are several small steps throughout the house and a raised floor divider that runs straight through the hallway that made getting around slightly challenging for a wheel chair user. Otherwise, this was an excellent stay!

We had an excellent stay! Communication with the host was very responsive & the house was just as it was shown. There was plenty of space & the in-law suite in the back was the perfect addition to the home. We were there during a winter storm & the plows were there right away to clear the driveway. Overall excellent stay & would definitely recommend staying here & coming back!

My family and I stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday and it was perfect for what we were looking for. The home is spacious and cozy with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. We also very much appreciated how kid-friendly the property was. My kids loved digging into the game closet. Really good communication with the owner. We would love to come back during the Summer sometime!

What a wonderful time. This home provided everything we could have needed and more. Great spaces to spread out, all the kitchen equipment for making fun meals, excellent WiFi, bright outdoor lighting, ample parking space, and excellent homeowner communication with all instructions! This house is perfect! Great size house, close to the beach. The street has very low traffic. Ted the owner is very responsive and accommodating. This is the best VRBO I’ve rented.

For us it was the ideal location...a wooded lot with a view of the lake and access to a sand beach right down the driveway. It's the farthest south we've ever stayed in Door County which turned out just fine. Kids loved The Farm, we ventured to Egg Harbor and Sturgeon Bay, but mostly just enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Accommodations worked out well for all of us adults and children. Kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils, etc. and garage had multiple bikes, and beach chairs, a charcoal grill, and a big cart to haul stuff to the beach.

We had a wonderful stay at the beach house! It was perfect for our family. There was more than enough space for everyone. We loved seeing the lake every morning and our kids could not get enough of the beach! Ted is a great host. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location for spending time on the beach with families that have dogs. House has a lot of space to accommodate a big family and goes above pet friendly with providing kennels, toys and food dishes. Will definitely book again.

The house was massive, adorable, and clean. Host communicated very well. He let us enter early, left a bottle of wine for us to enjoy, and checked in on us after the 1st day. Very nice.

The house had everything that one would need and I appreciated not having a long list of house rules. The host was very responsive with all questions. I was just disappointed with the beach which is no fault of the host. I know beaches can change every season/year, it was just covered in dead alewives and rocks so the kids couldn’t enjoy it as much! If you love seeing deer this is definitely a good location for it!

We absolutely loved our family vacation to Sturgeon Bay and enjoyed staying at Ted & Kristin’s lovely beach home on Lake Michigan! The home is perfect for families, large and small, with plenty of space for gatherings as well as for personal time. The extra living space, loft and kitchen were ideal for our kids and 4 month old grandson- allowing them a private area where they could keep schedules and routines for the little one. The property was also so welcoming to our dog, offering toys and pet amenities as well. We’ve stayed at “pet friendly “ properties before but none were as clean and accommodating as this. Ted was wonderful, offering timely communications and making sure our needs were met and our stay was exceptional- it definitely was!

Ted's house was a perfect location for our girls weekend getaway! The four of us had plenty of space to spread out and relax in comfort. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was spacious, the bathrooms were plenty! Lots of amenities to enjoy, not to mention THE VIEW! Beautiful sunrises over Lake Michigan and miles & miles of sandy beach to walk! Ted was an attentive host who ensured our comfort by reaching out via text during our stay. We would definitely recommend this property, which we hope to stay at again!
