Overlooking Lake Wanaka and the majestic southern alps beyond, this large contemporary house is luxurious and relaxing, offering spectacular views, comfort and quality facilities. Island View Place, provides essentials in the larder and a selection of fresh breakfast items for your first morning.

The ski fields of Treble Cone, Cardrona, Snow Park (Terrain Park) and Snow Farm (Cross Country Ski Field) are all short drives away, and, after an energetic day up the mountain Wanaka town has a vibrant cafe and restaurant culture where you can find delicious food any time of the day.

Close to Lake Wanaka and its many amenities, Eely Point and Beacon Point Walks, and many mountain bike trails, Island View Place provides guests with the 7 adult and 5 childrens bikes for their use.
Special conditions:
Island View Place, IVP is available for exclusive use. It has a stocked larder and fresh breakfast items are provided for the start of your stay. IVP is a unique experience where we are always at hand for any requirement, but guests have a gorgeous luxury house all to themselves.
Guests also have access to the 2 heated pools, 2 spas, gym and BBQ at Peninsular Bay facilities. (facility rules to be strictly adhered to)

    This home was perfect for our week in Wanaka. Beautifully appointed with everything we needed to make meals, with options to sit outside or inside, looking at the beautiful lake and mountains. Each bedroom had its own private bathroom with lovely views as well. We enjoyed being close to downtown Wanaka, and having options to use the community pool and facilities as well as ride bikes into town. We will definitely make this our home away from home next time we are in Wanaka!

    Beautiful, spacious home with great facilities to accommodate us all on a girl's weekend. We enjoyed having our own bathrooms and the rooms are amazing. Fantastic place to stay.

    We stayed at Island View Place as a group of 12 - 6 adults and 6 children (18 months - 8 years). Everything about our stay was amazing. The house is a great size for large groups, with plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen was excellent to cook in and well equipped with everything we needed. The pantry was stocked on arrival and included fresh fruit and milk etc to cover our needs before we went to the grocery shop. The house was heated when we arrived at night and the fireplace was the central place for both kids and adults to relax at the end of each day. Wonderful views of the snow covered mountains and Lake Wanaka. We loved every minute at Island View Place and would definitely stay there again.

    We love the South Island, have been visiting since 1988. The Wanaka area remains our favorite place to spend a relaxing 2 week stay, and IVP continues to be our preferred rental. We stayed 10 days in 2023, and 2 weeks this Feb (was already reserved by others pre and post stay dates, so couldn't stay longer). Owner had added a mini-split A/C, heat pump to the upstairs master, which tremendously improved the comfort during those sunny afternoons! Also added power shades in upstairs landing. These were the only noteworthy downsides we had experienced on the previous stay. The neighborhood is absolutely wonderful: quiet, many walking paths, greenbelts, friendly residents, upscale etc. Plenty of day hike opportunities in the Wanaka area. We prepared most of our meals, drank good Pinot, and enjoyed the wonderful dinners enjoying the views from the patio or dining room. The most relaxing vacation we have had in years - lived almost like the locals! Also very important to note: even though they have a wonderful local contact (Sabine), the owner still checked on us even while she was awaiting evacuation orders from her main residence above Christchurch due to large grass/forest fire in her neighborhood. We will not hesitate to stay at IVP again

    We loved IVP! The views were stunning and the house was oh so beautiful. We all cook and found the kitchen to be well equipped. We used the bikes, yoga mat and pool. Five stars all around on this VRBO!
