Stayed Nov 13, 2025Absolutely loved this home. We we in town for wedding and thoroughly enjoyed the place. Had fun with our 18 month old grandson who loved throwing rocks in the river. Highly recommend staying here. If we are in the area again would book without question.

Stayed Jul 13, 2024We love Western North Carolina and have vacationed there for the past 20 years. Now that we are empty nesters, we have become hound rescuers and only stay in homes with fenced yards. David and April's home is the best property was have ever stayed in, right on the river. Our dogs loved the yard (so did we). The home felt like we were out in the country, with just a few homes nearby and the property backed up to an orchard. We expected we would have to drive the usual 20-30 minutes to get to groceries and restaurants. However, we were five minutes away from groceries and fast food and just 10 minutes from the charming downtown of Canton. David and April are amazing hosts and we definitely will stay again.

Stayed Sep 1, 2023What a gem this property is! From the wonderful hosts to the amazing river access this was a great experience. The house was very comfortable for our family of six with room to spare. The well appointed kitchen provides all that’s needed to prepare meals. The newly added hot tub was great for relaxing after days on the river or hiking. We’re looking forward to our next visit!

Stayed Jul 29, 2023Our group, four adults and two 5 year-old boys, had a wonderful time at David and April's new cottage. We've had this trip booked for awhile and found out our booking was being cancelled due to the sale of the property. David, the new owner, contacted us promptly and sent us an invite to rebook our trip. The process was seamless and the trip was back on. We arrived to the property and were greeted with beautiful views of the Pigeon River and an apple orchard along with an inviting home. The house is clearly older, but it's well taken care of and has a lot of charm. The landscaping is spot on. During our stay, we did hikes around DuPont and Pisgah. The accessibility to these locations from the property was fantastic. The various waterfalls in DuPont, as recommended in the host's guidebook, were fantastic. Hiking along the Graveyard Fields and Black Balsam Knob in Pisgah offered breathtaking views. It was great to go hiking, then come back to splash and cool off in the river. There are many wonderful restaurants nearby in Canton and Waynesville. We'd strongly recommend the Southern Porch in downtown Canton for quality Southern style cuisine at very reasonable prices. After supper, we'd cap the night off by enjoying the serenity of the yard and catching fireflies with our children. There are plenty of amenities (grocery, produce stands, etc.) and activities nearby (Biltmore, GSMR, tubing, etc.). We appreciate the hospitality and look forward to future visits!

Stayed Jul 14, 2023Our Family of seven enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The house was very comfortable for all of us and had everything you could possibly need for a stay. We loved waking up to the view of the river every morning. The owners David and April were very kind and helpful. They shared with us places and restaurants to visit and some welcome gifts when we got there as well. They were also kind enough to adjust our check in date to a day earlier at the last minute. We can't thank them enough for their hospitality and for sharing their beautiful home with us. We will be sure to visit again soon.

Stayed Jul 9, 2023We loved our stay. Which could have been a diaster, when the property changed owners, but it was effortless. Dave was great with keeping in touch and making sure the property was on point. The pictures do not do the cottage justice. It has a rustic southern charm with modern appliances. Our family enjoyed grabbing tubes and hanging in the river. We would definitely return!!
