When we checked in Monday afternoon we were disappointed with the condition of the house. The house is in a great location & has many positive qualities however, the kitchen cabinets were dirty- some had hand prints & food splattered on them. The garbage pail under the sink did not have a liner & there was all spilled food in that. I needed to wipe down & disinfect the kitchen to feel comfortable during our stay. It just looked dirty not how you would expect to enter a rental house. The other issue we had which was a Big one was the carpeted floors in the house. The LR area rug had a big rip in the corner & it also had stains on it. Along with a few big stains on the area carpet in the DR. These stains looked like dog pee. The floors themselves weren’t vacuumed very well & were a bit sandy. The stairs leading upstairs were very dirty & every room upstairs & the hallway all had been stained with dog pee. It looked as if someone tried to clean some of them with a bleach cleaner as they were bleached out. To say the floors were filthy is an understatement. We did not feel comfortable walking around the house without shoes. We also had a toddler & were very uneasy with her playing on the floor. When we checked in I did a basic cleaning to get it as good as I could where we would be more comfortable. Who wants to clean on their vacation. On Tues I reached out to the rental agent & they apologized. They did get a carpet cleaning co to come out 5pm Thurs however we were leaving on S

Super easy check-in, nice home near beach and marsh. We love the very short walk to the quiet and relaxing beach. The whole family enjoyed walking to the dock and watching the wildlife. The local store was quaint and we ordered donuts for Sunday...they were very good! Will return to Broadkill for sure.

Great family friendly place to stay in Broadkill! Check-in was super simple and we appreciated how well equipped the house was. The kitchen had all the appliances, cookware, cups/plates and utensils we needed to cook and eat our meals. All the bedrooms had plenty of storage space and the beds all had pillows and a quilt/comforter. We enjoyed a relaxing few days here and would definitely consider staying here again on the future.

We loved this house and location!! It was perfect for our family of 4 (20 something kids) and 2 Pomeranians. This may not be the most fancy or newest house, but it is a home and if you, like us, love nature and peace more than glitz and glamour, you cannot fail to love this property! There is a private walkway into the marsh which ends at a canal and an osprey family that lives there (please respect them!). Access to the beach is across the road and it is clean and feels private. There were a good number of dead horseshoe crabs when we were there, but lots of living crabs, sandpipers and other critters. The waves are not ocean waves, but smaller and more gentle and you can walk a long way out, especially at low tide. In the house, the AC worked perfectly and the kitchen was neat and well stocked with all sorts of pans, knives, cooking utensils, cups, glasses, a Kuerig, and coffee maker. You might want to bring a cutting board and scissor. The bathrooms were clean and had some TP and tissues even though it was stated that you should bring your own. The prize of this house is the screened in porch next to the sunroom. We spent a ton of time out there enjoying the view and peace of the marsh and it was our doggo's favorite spot. Bayshore Dr. was a perfect road to walk the Pom's early in the morning and in the evening. Our youngest daughter brought her PS5 to hook up to the TV and it worked really well. I would buy this house if I could, I loved it so much!!

The house is great, kitchen well equipped, beds comfortable, outdoor shower had hot water, Old Bay in the cabinet and crabs a plenty in the river with a great boardwalk to get there. 2 min walk to the bay too. Great place to fish, crab, and chill. Would 100% stay here again.

This spacious, pretty and comfortable home is immediately adjacent to a salt marsh with board walk. This side of the house can also be enjoyed for from the breezy screened in porch. On the opposite side the Delaware cove is a short walk from the house. We were sometimes the only family at the beach. It was never very crowded. We took a trip to Rehoboth and Fun Land. And to Cape May NJ via a fun ferry ride. This house has a perfect location. And lots of space for a family of 5 adults and one baby to be very comfortable. We felt very lucky to have the privacy plus all the close by resources. Beautiful home. We hope to come back next year.
