Cozy Fries Escape w/ Mountain & River Views!

House was lovely. Loved the decor.

It was a nice stay. This rental place is very clean. Everything is well maintained. It is also easy to communicate with owner.

Kitchen is amazingly equipped although I rarely use it , ice maker is awesome . Washer/dryer , garbage disposal and temp control in every area. I love the porch and best view of the river and everything around. Covered parking area and host is beyond responsive to any needs.Best house on the street but it’s so comfy. Bathroom is small but efficient

We visited my grandfather in Fries and stayed at The Otter — a beautifully updated home filled with thoughtful touches throughout. The detailed guide to the house and where everything was located made our stay especially easy and comfortable. It was perfect for our family, and we especially appreciated the toys for the kids, which made them feel right at home. The view is absolutely stunning, and the peaceful setting made for a truly relaxing getaway. The host was friendly and responsive, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Very nicely renovated and roomy. Tight parking for a truck in the carport but we made it work. Nice to have covered parking area. Nicely appointed. A king bed would have been appreciated but kitchen was nicely stocked with everything we needed. Cute little bungalow. Although neighbor's house was in state of disrepair, we did meet him and his dog and he was very nice. Neighborhood under renovation with some houses in really bad shape but safe area even though it didn't appear that way. Would stay again. Loved the front porch.

3year old twins, 16 year old granddaughter and myself couldn’t have been more comfortable in the setup of this gorgeous home. Loved being able to back up into the carport and just a few steps and your on the porch with the most amazing view of the Fries dam and the beautiful New River . And the rocking chairs are plentiful and comfortable. Step inside to the most equipped Vrbo I’ve experienced so far, with a basket with a few toys, books, tons of dvds , all kitchen appliances even some condiments and a lot of local information welcome you . Mini splits in every room so everyone was so comfortable. The bathroom is tiny but so cute and we managed! I will definitely book here again as needed. Thanks so much to Matt for being a super host.

Enjoyed our stay in the cute home. Very well furnished with all necessary items and very well organized with instructions for everything in the home. We were there to visit family nearby and it was perfectly located between the towns we were visiting. When we weren't visiting, we loved sitting on the front porch and listening to the river. Stayed in June/July 2024 immediately booked for a fall trip. Cute little house, great views, and very responsive property managers. Highly recommend and hopefully will enjoy staying again in the future.

Rented for my 78 and 76 parents and they loved it. Mom enjoyed sipping coffee on the porch listening to the river below and seeing the dam and water.

We had an awesome weekend in the quiet mountain town

We stayed here last year! It is perfect for our yearly trip! Not far from where we go! We really like it here! It was Me, my mom, n our great grandbabies(great great also) Blessed we are! We plan on returning next year! Lord willing!

This located is equal distances between my sister and I. We met to enjoy the weekend and the home did not disappoint! It is clean, well maitained and is incredibly organized. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils & basic supplies. Beds are in excellent condition and bedding was clean amd plush.

The house was very clean. Kitchen has all you need. Beautiful view of the river and dam. It is a very quiet and restful place. Great place to stay if you want to use the New River Trail. The host is very responsive and gracious. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
