Stayed Feb 17, 2024From the beginning to the (sad) end our experience with all things Casa Chulada was exemplary. Teri, the host, could not have been more responsive or communicative. We were a family (and friends/significant others) of nine adults, and the house was perfectly sized with awesome communal and private spaces. As others have posted, the photos do not lie, and the casa and property are even lovelier in person. The pool was impeccably clean and had the most perfect temperature. We very much enjoyed lazing in the rings. A friendly iguana often visited us in the sunny afternoons. The view to the beach and ocean was magical. We walked the length of the beach (as far as you can to the left) daily and even saw some whales spouting far offshore. The casa's location is extremely convenient but also feels very private. We walked to Cafe Pacifico (which we loved-breakfast and one dinner), to Mi Jardin (literally across the street with amazing pasta and pizza), and had a short drive to the Terrace restaurant at the Manzanillo Inn. But-the best dinners by far were those made by Natali and her daughter Stephanie. What a decadent and blissful treat! We let her know what we wanted (one night we asked for a surprise and it did not disappoint!) and she both shopped for the ingredients and cooked. The fact we could walk in from the pool and beach and just sit down and enjoy her delicious creations was truly a treasure. Casa Chulada is a GEM!!!

Stayed Nov 20, 2022Our family of 14 stayed at Casa Chulada for the week of Thanksgiving. The house is beautifully decorated and equipped and has a wonderful outdoor area and pool. The house is probably better suited for 10 people and maybe a couple of children. We had 5 couples and 4 singles in our group. The house has 3 bedrooms with baths and the apartment has another 2 bathrooms with a shared bath. The 4 singles were set up in the common area of the apartment - 2 twins and a inflatable double. This really didn’t work well since that area doesn’t have an air conditioner and would mean 8 people are sharing a bathroom. We adjusted and moved the inflatable bed into the house in one of the rooms. I would advise against trying to fit 14 adults in this property. The staff are wonderful. We had Thanksgiving dinner cooked for us and 3 additional family members and it was by far the best food we had in our 4 weeks in Mexico. DELICIOUS!! I would highly recommend that you take advantage of this service. We will cherish the memories of this wonderful family time in Troncones!

Stayed Apr 6, 2022There aren’t really any words to adequately communicate how amazing this property is, the quality of the home, the mind blowing home cooked food, or the friendliness of the hosts. We had such a good time relaxing we never wanted to leave. Thanks Teri, Eduardo, Natalie, Patricia, and Estevan for one of the best experiences travelling any of us had imagined.

Stayed Mar 28, 2022Booking this property for our vacation may have been one of the best decisions we ever made. We were traveling with a large group and a lot of small children, but Casa Chulada was everything we hoped it would be and more! The property is absolutely beautiful with well cared for gardens (thanks to Estevan, the grounds keeper) with a pool perfect for the kiddos and beachfront right out the back gate filled with little tidal pools and perfect sand for sandcastles and sea shell hunting. Natalie and Patty cooked delicious and authentic Mexican food for us everyday, and even made us a soothing tea when a few of us ran into some travel tummy troubles. Eduardo and Mariana were extremely helpful, arranging taxis for us and making sure we had everything we needed, and Terri the owner was responsive and answered the many questions we had prior to arriving. I only wish we had more time there to explore the town a bit more! We spent most of our time either at the pool or at the beach, but there were lots of little shops in town that wouldve been fun to visit. Of note the surf is quite rough right near the house (not a lot of ocean swimming was had), but surfing lessons can be arranged in town easily where they bring you to a calmer area north of town to learn. Definitely make sure you get out to the beach nightly for the sunsets. They are fantastic! Overall we had a wonderful and relaxing stay and hope to be back!

Stayed Mar 14, 2020Teri and Sid’s Casa Chulada was everything our group desired in a home and so much more. From the moment we entered the courtyard into the lush gardens, the warm ocean breeze welcomed us in with open arms. The house is thoughtfully designed with plenty of options for communal and private living. Our group took advantage of the outdoor dining and lounging spaces the most. The pool was warm and cleaned often by the gardener, Esteban. A palapa and lounge chairs are set up on the beach for your afternoon siesta time. Teri and Sid are intentional conservationists and it is evident in the way the home is maintained and operated. Compost and recycling are practiced along with the use of non-toxic products. The house staff quickly became like family to us. Yasmine and Unfalia created some of the most delicious meals during our stay. I highly recommend using the grocery shopping and meal service to allow more beach/relaxing time. The wi-fi is dependable should you need to use it. Our visit was during the Covid-19 outbreak and we never had a problem staying in touch with our families in the States. Aside from the home, we were also impressed with the town of Troncones and it’s locals. We felt very safe riding bikes (3 available for use) into neighboring towns and returning after sundown. After a full week of living in paradise, we all wanted to extend our stay indefinitely :) If you are on the fence about where to stay in Troncones....look no further than Casa Chulada.

Stayed Nov 23, 2019The house is just as pictured in the photos, except that you can't tell from the photos that the beds are comfortable, the a/c works beautifully in the bedrooms and there's always plenty of hot water. The kitchen is very well stocked and if Unfalia cooks for you she is great! The property manager and her assistant were very prompt to respond to any questions and the owner was very easy to work with. Yasmin was happy to do laundry for us in the mornings and Esteban kept the yard and pool sparkling clean. At the time of our visit, the neighbors had started construction next door, but it had very little impact on our trip. We enjoyed the beach (you do need to walk south, there is a very strong rip right off the property) and the kids boogie boarded for hours. Troncones was an easy bike ride away, and there was an abundance of great restaurants from which to choose. We especially enjoyed the kayaking trip and snorkeling trip we set up through Costa Nativa . We felt safe and cared for and it was a great set up!
