As charming and welcoming as ever!

The Host was very accommodating and the welcome meat and cheese tray was such a welcome gift. The BlueDoor Cottage was perfect and well stocked . We cannot wait to rent it again next year. It was so cozy and comfortable for our whole family. I loved having the bikes there so we can use them.

The house was clean, relaxing and just lovely. Perfect location. The owner was extremely helpful and very responsive.

Always amazing. Our 3rd week at the Blue Door was full of memories and an opportunity to disconnect for our busy day to day.

The bluedoor cottage is as advertised. Such a cute, comfortable home with a great host! We wish we had longer to stay. The home had everything we needed and more. The garage is outfitted with plenty of toys and creature comforts for the beach. We would recommend it to anyone and looking forward to coming back longer. Short walk to shops, food and beach. Even spent a night on the bay in a Duffy at the hosts suggestion. Great trip all around.

First time on this side of the island...The property was amazing! The hospitality and amenities made our short stay perfect! Bikes, canoes, and paddle boards kept the kids busy and happy. We booked last minute and stumbled upon a gem!!! We will be back.

Our family had a wonderful stay at The Blue Door Cottage! Pete could not have been more accommodating! From the wine, cheese, and Dubai chocolates, to the early checkin and easy check out, all was perfect! The cottage’s location is ideal as well; we walked everywhere, even with a 2 and 5 year old. The bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards were the cherries on top! The house itself is clean and well stocked! Thank you, thank you!

This cottage was perfect. It was decorated so charming and the location on the Little Island is perfect. We never got in our car for 5 days, we walked everywhere. The pantry was well stocked and the host was very fast in answering when we asked a question. We will stay here again!

Peter, the host, goes extra mile on providing plenty of stock in household items. Renters need bring nothing in household goods. Garage is stocked full of vacation toys. Kayaks, paddle boards, childrens beach toys and chairs. 5 bikes. Everything works.Great printed instructions for renters.we

Charming cottage was everything my husband & I wanted. Adult children and young grandchildren loved it, too, and we had fun using the water equipment. My daughters-in-law and I enjoyed how well-stocked the kitchen was! Very relaxing stay and the Host, Peter, went above & beyond to make our stay special. We LOVED it!!!

What an amazing property on Balboa Island. We had an amazing week with family in this well appointed and perfectly located property. The owner was wonderful to work with and we loved the plethora of beach toys, bikes, and so much more. The outdoor space as perfect for our group of 8. I highly recommend this gorgeous cottage!

This is one of the more charming houses on the island. It is well stocked with toys, towels, chairs, umbrellas and a grill. The owner is very responsive and offered everything we needed and more. I wish we had booked this stay for longer and will in the future.

The Blue Door beach house was absolutely our favorite house we’ve stayed at on the island. The location was great, the charm of the house was so nice, the owner was very helpful. A comfortable but luxury beach house!!!

Our family of seven (five children from ages 7 to 16) had a wonderful three night stay at The Blue Door Cottage. The cottage was wonderful! It was very clean and well appointed. It was walking distance to the Main Street. Pete was an excellent host; he answered all of our questions in a timely manner and was very accommodating about us arriving early. Thank you Pete! We look forward to staying here again!

Wonderful stay at the Blue Door Cottage!! Very Clean and the BEST location on the island!

The Blue Door Cottage was great all around. Nice location close to waterfront and main drag, yet very quiet. The interior is very inviting, clean and comfortable. The house has pretty much everything you'd want for the location, including bikes, paddle boards, etc...and all the typical amenities. Pete, the owner, was very accessible and accommodating. We'd definitely book the place again. We looked around at other listings on the island and couldn't find anything that matched the overall value.

A lil bit of heaven by the sea. A memorable, relaxing and fun trip. The cottage, fully stocked is located in a fabulous spot, tons to do, close to the water and town. Pete was very informative and accommodating. Would love to return sometime soon.

Our stay was wonderful. Perfect house for a family get away..

Our family consisting of six adults and two children (4,6) stayed for a little less than a week. The house was well equipped and the manager left us goodies for our arrival. The neighborhood has all that you can want within walking distance. We will be staying again in the future

The Blue Door Cottage is perfectly appointed. The rooms are cozy and all filled with personal touches. Pete is so easy to reach and communicate with via text or email too. We were welcomed with a wonderful selection of cheese, crackers, wines, and sparkling water. The local Night Heron visits our tree on the patio during the day and adds to our alfresco meals. We cannot wait to return. This is a gem. The cottage is located near everything in this quaint town. Thanks again Pete for making this an unforgettable adventure!

We had the best stay here! Comfortable, cozy and homey - Beautifully decorated. Communication with Pete was very smooth. We liked that we could walk into town. It's quiet and peaceful. Everything we ever wanted was available in the home. The snacks Pete left for us were delicious! The big patio was really nice for outdoor living. Just book it! 😊

Great place for a family.

Everything about our stay could not have been better. The house is in great shape and appointed very tastefully. The property manager goes out of his way to ensure you and your guests are taken care of and puts a lot of work into ensuring it. Nice touches like refreshments and other things await you. Bikes, paddle boards, kayaks. The bathrooms are pristine and have very nice towels. Bedding is great. Awesome seating area outside and in my opinion the best location on Balboa Island. Steps to the strip downtown, public peer, close to the ferry. If you chose to stay at the Blue Door Cottage, you will be very happy!

Terrific Balboa Cottage with all the beach vibes and island style. Great outdoor space with easy seating for 8 for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Two updated baths, comfortably slept 6 (and could have been 8) in the 4 bedrooms. Everything you need for an awesome Balboa experience. We enjoyed the bikes and the generous hospitality of the accommodating host. Class A - look forward to a return stay.

Our stay with our family at the Blue Door Cottage was amazing! Pete was very available if I had any questions! The house is very comfortable and is on little balboa, amazing location to all the shops and restaurants! The house was furnished with beach cruisers, beach chairs, anything you need to enjoy a vacation just relaxing. No need to drive ever, just bicycle to everything!

My wife and I were looking for a final summer getaway with our four children, before the school year begins. When we saw all of the positive reviews for the Blue Door Cottage, we couldn't pass it up. The cottage did not disappoint. Actually, it is the best rental we have stayed in. This is likely due to the fact that it doesn't feel like a rental at all, but a second home. Pete went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We were welcomed with snacks and a wonderful cheese tray. He gave us local tips on where to go and how to get around the island. We loved being able to use the bikes to cruise around the island and cross the ferry to Newport. The beach chairs, umbrellas, boards, and other beach equipment made our trips to the beach easy. The house is cool, comfortable, and everyone slept well. Our favorite part of our stay was how peaceful everything was. The house has a relaxing vibe to it. We felt like we stepped away from the world for a few days, and all the stressors of life, and were able to recharge together. Amazing.

We had a happy time at the beach with stand-up paddle boards and beach toys, kept the kids all busy and happy. It was a great time for the cousins to bond with each other. We had great meals and chatting around the outdoor dining table. The kids all slept very well and comfortably!

We recently spent 7 days at the Blue Door Cottage and it was awesome! Pete was great with communication from beginning to end answering all our questions and offering recommendations. He even arranged for my husband to golf at a nearby golf course - over the top kind! We were a family of 5 adults and 2 toddlers (3 and 4). The bedrooms were set up perfect for us and the kiddos loved having their own cute bedroom with port hole nightlights! The hosts had a board of cheese. meats, crackers and cookies in the frig on our arrival as well as a bottle of wine. Since our flight was delayed multiple times it was late when we arrived and we were all hungry so it was just perfect for us! We spent 2 days in the Disney parks which is a short 25 minute drive from the island. We also rented a Duffy boat on the island for a 2 hour tour and brought our own snacks & wine - a delightful way to self tour the area by water. Unfortunately our mini van we rented was too long to fit in the garage at the property but we never had an issue finding parking on the street. The front patio is quaint-we ate dinner out there most nights (take out from near by restaurants). The location of the property is an easy walk to the main street on the island as well as the ferry. The island itself is a very quiet and relaxed place - bummer that construction was happening on both sides of us during the day making it tough to take a nap. The updated furnished house and fresh cut flowers made our stay perfect!
