Stayed Dec 29, 2025I had a hard time choosing between 4 & 5, so probably more like a 4.5. We enjoyed the house and had a wonderful stay. The house is 100yrs old and you can feel the love and history, which was very cool! I especially appreciated the original features of the house, including family photos and memorabilia. We had fun looking through the old journals and piecing together the families on the wall. The drawers and closets should have anything you may need like a wagon for toting groceries, lunch box, small appliances(yes coffee!), and extra blankets. Lots of games and books, my boys loved the poker chips! Not a big deal to many, but the living area is a bit dark; we would have moved a lamp if we could find one. We played games in there, and it was hard to see. We did have to purchase trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper on day 2 of our 4 night stay. We bought a case of each, so hopefully it helped out the next group. There is a room with bunks that isn't featured in pictures and it was perfect for the boys! Its the last in the hall too so kept the noise away from the main bedrooms. Location was perfect!!! We walked everywhere and if we needed a circuit ride, it picked up right at the top of the street. We also made a quick potty stop when we rented a golf cart since it was right off the path. Vons, golf course, museum, etc is all within a 3- 5 min walk. Thank you for having us, and please thank the owners for sharing their home in such an authentic way!!

Stayed Sep 5, 2025Generally as expected, clean, and usable. Could not find the dishwasher detergent.Check in process could be improved by providing a more secure online way besides insecure email to show ID and card within the day before arrival (went to office to check in instead).

Stayed May 1, 2025For those that are older this is not your house for staying. All bedrooms are upstairs and navigating the stairs is not easy for older or those with any disabilities.

Stayed May 24, 2024Our family stayed for three days, great all around! Quiet street without golf cart noise was a plus, and walking distance to everything. Thank you!

Stayed Feb 16, 2024Really enjoyed this place. You can tell it has a lot of history for the family that owns it, and it was perfect for our group's weekend getaway. Sometimes you have to compromise on location with staying in vacation homes, but Avalon is so small it's so easy to walk around. And we made use of the park just across the street so really it's the perfect spot for families with kids! The management was also super easy to work with.

Stayed Oct 13, 2023A group of friends and I (aged 20s-50s) stayed here for a long birthday weekend. Great location, 15 minute leisurely walk from the pier, close to town and grocery store. The rooftop deck has a great view of the city, hills, and water, made for a great breakfast and dinner spot. Definitely an older house, but charmingly maintained, and well stocked with all the kitchen necessities, along with plenty of movies, books, and games.
