304S - Stunning New Home on the flats

This is a beach style cottage as advertised. Unfortunately the upstairs neighbor is on the loud side and stomps around at night which can be disturbing in the master bedroom but the location and grocery store next door are great for families. Beach towels and some beach chairs to borrow would have been a nice additional feature. We had two non-functioning burners on the stove but did light cooking only and maintenance was responsive when we called it in (even if they could not fix the burner). Cleaning crew could do a better job of checking dishes and place mats after each round of guests as we found some of these to be too dirty to use (and there is no dishwasher). Plenty of towels and fans to cool down with (no AC) and it’s a great stay for a couple of nights although maybe not as budget friendly as the name suggests.

Floor carpet not clean, sofas not clean and some damage, some of the towels with hair. it was not what i thought.

Great location with a vons market nearby Walkable to /from the Catalina express.

The property was not clean. This was particularly concerning in the time of Covid-19. Pots, pans, dishes, and utensils had been put away dirty, with food residue. The bathrooms (powder and shower are separate) were dirty -- the cabinetry caked in grime. That same grime was on the kitchen cabinets as well. The carpeting throughout the bungalow was dirty and damp. In addition, most of the pots were missing lids, making it hard to cook. The property manager was rude and argumentative on the telephone when we spoke about check-in. She kept interrupting me and cutting me off. When I called her on it, she made a sharp-tongued remark, arguing with me some more.

The listing stated it would sleep 6 individuals, when in reality it will sleep 3. One queen bed and two bunk beds. When we attempted to sleep people on the pull out couch, it collapsed. Thank goodness, no one was injured. Then, the sleeper couch could not be put back to a couch to sleep on without contacting maintenance to make the necessary repairs so it could be utilized as a make shift bed. Having 3 to 4 air mattresses in a cabinet should not be counted in the sleep capacity without telling people that is how you get to the number of occupants. Would not rent again!!!!!

Beds and pull out couch are old and uncomfortable. The lounge chair in the living area is dirty, tattered and gross. The tv is bearly audible. This is my third stay I. This residence but the up keep has dropped I will be looking for another location.

The location was perfect. Vons Express just a few doors down. Quick walk to shops, restaurants, and beach. Alot of traffic, so if you are looking for quiet, this is not it. Place was clean, however the. master bed and dining table needs to be upgraded. The house leans so they put rocks inside for the doors. Didnt like that bathroom accessibility is through the bedroom. We got there early and check in was quick and easy.

The location of the house can't be beat. We had a great time.

I have stayed in this cottage before and it was ok, but this time it was intolerable. Fixtures broken, kitchen way out of date with dried food on cookware, freezing cold with only one meager blanket, non-functional front door lock. But the real problem was with CIVR, the private company that handles local rentals, even VRBOs. They neglected to mention that a new Von’s store was mid-construction about a hundred feet away, using large noisy equipment all day. This—coupled with the fact that the charming local coffee house is gone—made it a non-starter. I paid a small fortune for a week (of course non-refundable) and left after the first freezing night. I have been renting on Catalina Island for 40 years and will never be back.

Super cute and clean place, easy to walk everywhere, if its to the water or the golf course easy to find your way. So happy there were extra towels and coffee!! Thank you!!! Quiet at night and I loved hearing the golf carts start wizzing around the community about 8am. I would give five stars if the mattresses were updated, the bunks aren't bad, however the master and the pull out couch are not comfortable sleeping. It was fine for two days, just not sure I would enjoy sleeping on either for a week.

We Loved the location of this house, in Catalina you walk a lot, so having a house near the water was clutch. House was clean and was perfect for my family of four. Kids loved their own little bunk bed room.

This rental was great for the grandkids. Easy access walking to the beach, stores, and restaurants. Lots off open space and lots of seating. I think the carpet could be cleaned more often but that would be my only suggestion which I know is hard with all the sand that gets brought in, otherwise we loved it

The upstairs tenants are unbelievably loud. No problem is blasting their TV at all hours. Came over for a quiet weekend, this was definitely not it...
