I was in town for a trail race in Arrington. With this being football and fall mountain leaves season, the local Hotels can really charge a premium. My sister does live in Roanoke but that was to far to drive for an early morning race. This place was the perfect find. Near enough to the highway to jump right on and get north for the race, but also close enough to go the other way to visit sis as well. Also it was nearby to gas and food, but if I wanted to I could also take advantage of the kitchen and have a home cooked meal. The home was quaint and quiet. Thanks for offering this, it was the perfect size and price point for what I needed on this weekend.
Perfect little house for our visit. Thank you.
House was exactly as listed! Great location and close to my sister at Liberty! Thank you, it was a beautiful place!! Hope to stay here again, soon!
Nice property. Exactly what we had hoped for.
Cute house. it's a quiet neighborhood it seems until about 11 pm then it's like very vehicle that goes by doesn't have a muffler. Bathroom is good sized, great towels provided. Bed is comfy. TV is quite small, I mean very small especially for the distance it is away from the couch. I don't know if someone people rent it for work or what but instead of a desk in the living room a recliner would be great! Kitchen is quite large and has all the appliances you need!
A very sweet cottage awaited us in Lynchburg. Suited our needs perfectly. Clean, simple, quiet. All A+. We will come again for sure!!
This house was perfect for the 5 nights I was in town for an intensive. The house was clean, kitchen was stocked with essential cooking tools, WiFi was lightening fast, and the location was great- just minutes from the LU campus.
I had an amazing stay. The house was in perfect condition and communication with the owner was precise and well informed.
Everything in this house you could use. Could use another TV fornthe bedroom.
This is a great little house! Very convenient location to Liberty campus and shopping. The bed has got to be one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Very clean. We will stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay. It was just enough for our visit to Lynchburg. It is a quaint little house off the main streets but convenient enough to main roads. Thank you for a comfortable stay!
Spacious and clean. Great for singles, couples or small family. Perfect location, close to Liberty University and shops.
The property was clean and had everything needed. The bed was comfy and the coach was as well considering it was a pull out. Very much enjoyed my stay.
My wife and I stayed here during a visit to Lynchburg and it was wonderful! This home is close to everything and is very cozy. The owner is very good about thinking of things you might need and making sure those items are available, and the home is very clean! Would definitely stay here again!
Nice home. Way better than a hotel room. Just minutes from Liberty and other things in Lynchburg. It had everything you need. Quiet neighborhood.
My first impression was that I was definitely going to enjoy my stay. Very neat, very clean, and very comfortable! The sheets were so soft. The books and puzzles were awesome to have there. I would definitely request this home again in the future! Definitely worth every penny!!! Thank you!
The cottage was everything we hoped for. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We would come here again. -Karen and dave
In a word, this cottage is charming. The spacious, light, bright kitchen has a romantic table for two and everything you need to cook at home or to just enjoy that morning cup of coffee. The kitchen windows open onto a country landscape that settles the soul. The den offers a full-sized desk for my husband to catch up on work (or, eh-hem, Fantasy Football draft), and he really appreciated the fast internet. In the den, I loved the warm, comfortable couch and beautiful curtains. The bedroom is decorated in rich, mahogany furniture with a beautiful comforter and pillows. The bathroom is filled with thick, warm towels. The owner has an amazing eye for design and color throughout that will make you simultaneously right at home and away from it all. This was the perfect get away, old fashioned in structure with the original hardwood floors and old, thick molding and yet beautifully and warmly appointed in all the small details. This beats a hotel any day! We had a fabulous time in Lynchburg! We took a photo by the LOVE sign in downtown Lynchburg and walked the trails over the James River. You can also rent bicycles for the paved paths instead of walking! We enjoyed lunch at Waterstone Pizza and dinner at RA Bistro – both are fantastic! We toured the Old City Cemetery and visited the museum and the historical buildings. This was really fascinating! I loved the old Pest House - Can you imagine being a doctor during this time? One day, we walked through the Community Market, where the parking is free and there is so much to see inside. Don’t miss going to the White Hart Café across the street where it is easy to pretend that you are stepping back in time into a turn-of-the-century tavern. The coffee is great, and the folks are friendly. I’m so glad we walked through Baily Spencer Hardware a couple doors down. This building used to be an old church, and you get that sense when you walk up the stairs in the back to the second floor. Monsters Inc. anyone? Then creep up the back staircase to the darkened 3rd floor… if you dare! Up in the attic is a friendly old man who still creates stained glass windows by hand. His store is filled with odds and ends like stained glass sun catchers, old maps, and pages from old Bibles. You can admire the latest projects he is creating. Then we walked down the block and peeked in the windows at the old cars on the corner. I can't wait to come back to this historical area and to this CHARMING cottage!
I highly recommend this little gem of a place. Very clean, super quiet neighborhood, comfortable bed and bedding, truly everything one wants in a home away from home! Love the hardwood floors and the solid wood doors! Convenient to anything we wanted to do, and really close to Liberty. I bet this little home stays booked :)
This property was exactly what we needed and was so charming! Laura was easy to work with and was prompt with questions that we had during our stay. It was much more comfortable than a hotel room and was close to downtown and the mall. We hope to stay here again in the future.
I hesitate to recommend this little gem for fear that getting my reservations will become that much harder!! So with a heavy heart and much trepidation, I do highly recommend this house as my favorite place to stay in Lynchburg! My kids both attend Liberty University, and this is a perfect retreat for visits and in the yearly comings and goings. The house is an old, turn-of-the-century home with beautiful original baseboards, old doors, and likely the original hardwood floors – and yet fully restored and appointed in a lovely country cottage style. The light, bright kitchen is as large as the den and fully stocked with everything you need from dishwasher to full oven, microwave, and fridge, and the house is warm and comfortable in both decor and design. There is a full size desk and fast internet which is such a great asset! The backyard looks out upon what can only be described as Mister McGregor’s garden with the mountains in the distance, and the front porch offers an enjoyable place to drink a cup of coffee and enjoy the flowers out front. The house is quite literally less than ten minutes from LU. (I can usually pick up my kids in about 8 minutes by taking Wards Ferry to Harvard Street.) Also by using Wards Ferry Road and the many side streets, you can easily access Target, Walmart, and the many restaurants without ever facing all the traffic on 29/Wards Road. This is quite the little gem! If you do stay here - please, please, don't tell anyone. It should stay our little secret!
We really enjoyed the country feel of this little cabin and its surroundings. Everything was clean and neat as a pin. There was even coffee in the cabinet for the morning. The beds were comfortable, including the blow up mattress on the sleeper sofa. There was plenty of extra room in the bedroom for the twin air mattress we had brought along for our toddler. Clean up instructions were easy and quick. Thanks to the owners for making this spot feel welcoming and peaceful.
This bungalow was perfect for our family of 4. It was very clean with all the essentials provided. The location is convenient to Liberty University and downtown Lynchburg. Quiet area.
very nice, could use another living room chair.
We spent a weekend here visiting our Granddaughter who attends Liberty University. Everything was perfect. Very clean and organized to make it very functional for all our needs. Neighbor hood is within 5 minutes to Liberty but very quiet and spread out Our granddaughter enjoyed staying with us and found the pull out sleeper very comfortable. Lynchburg is a very fun city to visit. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. Look forward to returning again.
We'll definitely be staying here again. It was wonderful to have a "home" environment while visiting our daughter at college. We were able to sit around the dining table, enjoying meal together and play games, which would not have been possible at a hotel. The pull out sofa bed was very nice. It is a lazy boy and was plenty comfortable for our teen. The home was clean and well-kept. I did forget to bring soap and shampoo, but there are plenty of stores very close where you can pick up anything you might need.
Would definitely recommend this property, had a great time.
Here for intensive at Liberty with my daughter. Close to school and airport. Perfect accommodations and great property manager.
We were in town for a weekend sports event. House exactly as advertised. Close to everything but on a quiet side street. Much better than a hotel.
We came up for the LU winterfest. Had a great time, but it was so nice to go to a Home and not hotel where most of the people we’re staying at and being rowdy. The house was clean and the linen was soft! A big plus. The sleeper sofa was a lazy boy with an inflatable mattress. Best idea ever. The kids were very comfortable on it.
Quiet and clean. Thanks for the coffee😊
When we arrived there was a card and some oatmeal cookies for us. It was very cute and very clean. We enjoyed our anniversary getaway and would definitely go back again. We were close to food, shopping and other activities like winery and apple orchards. Thank you!
I only wish I could give it 10 stars instead! Forget the hotel! I can't wait to come back!
Comfortable, clean, great location. So many great places to visit within 30-45 minutes of Lynchburg. With family in the area, it was perfect for visiting, cozy when the weather was cold and rainy...price was very reasonable. No washer and dryer for extended stays but laundry facilities are close by.
The bungalow was really nice. Looked like everything was brand new at the time of our stay. This was my third HomeAway stay in Lynchburg and my favorite so far. Laura communicated with us and was available in a manner I felt to be very acceptable. I would definitely stay hear again.
