Our stay was meant to visit family in nearby Lytle, TX. We stayed a little less than a week and had the space we needed to do Christmas together. We would have stayed longer if the price had not been raised for the holiday. Overall, our stay was what we needed.
It's a great place, quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
Quick trip to San Antonio for grandson's graduation from Lackland AFB basic training. Didn't get to spend much time there but it was a nice, clean, spacious home. Quiet neighbor hood with resturants and shopping close by. This was a reasonably priced place to stay since there were 6 of us traveling. Modern kitchen so we were able to save money by fixing several meals and enjoy relaxing in the evening watching TV. Short trip back and forth to Lackland AFB and not a lot of traffic. Wish we could have spent a little longer to take in the local site.
A fine experience start to finish and a great location in Castroville! Easy communications with owner, attention to detail with info about the property and more provided inside the house. Super clean! Would stay here again!
This property was more than we had expected. The house was very clean and spacious. The owner was easy to get ahold of and very helpful.
Awesome kitchen with everything you need, spacious, very thoughtful of renters ( ex. All lights are labeled) very clean. Rick is great!
Very nice and spacious. Home was very clean. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen to cook in. Will stay again soon.

Nice...Clean...Comfortable...Great Location...Would definitely do it again!
We visited Rick's place while attending my son's BMT graduation at Lackland Air Force Base. It was nice and quiet, and Castroville is a cute little town with a lot of history and good food. Highly recommend. Great for families.
This is a fantastic house with lovely amenities, in the heart of Castroville. The owner is very responsive and accommodating. Thanks, Rick!
We stay at the redbud house in may this year as it was close to the venue of our sons wedding, we arrived late due to a flight delay, and were pleasantly surprised to find the house extremly welcoming with low music playing and subdued lighting. The house was spotlessly clean and close enough to drive to San Antonio for a visit to the Alamo, there are restaurant's also very close to the property for breakfast, lunch and dinner . I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in quaint Castroville
PERFECTION! BMT graduation brought us to SATx but the RedBud house makes us want to come back. Don't let being outside the 1604 loop prevent you from staying here, it is only 17miles from base. Rick makes sure you have everything you need. It felt like walking into a 5star spa upon arrival. My son earned an extra day of town leave & Rick was gracious enough to extend our check out time so we could have 1 more home cooked meal with him. The home was so comfortable we spent more time just being together than sightseeing. The Riverwalk, Mall & Alamo were close enough we visited them all in a day & still had time for steaks on the grill that night! We tried several of the restaurants listed in the info book & all were good, definitely do the bakery. We split the house with another family (4total) & the layout could easily accommodate 8persons. The cost was less than 2hotel rooms in SATx of equal quality.
My son joining the Air force brought us to San Antonio Texas, But the Red bud house made us feel at home. Not only was the house fully furnished and clean it was more then we expected. The house is easy access in and out of San Antonio and is in a great little town where you can enjoy your time away. The owner thought of everything. Things you may have forgotten to pack or just need extra. Each room was just like home, had everything you would need. It's like you came home to mom's she has everything you need. I would love to stay there again.
This was our second time staying at this property, and we enjoyed it every bit as much as the first. This time there were three couples, and the bedroom/bath configuration worked perfectly for us. We were able to ship our golf clubs ahead to arrive at the property, saving quite a bit of hassle at the airport. Although we were in San Antonio when there was some flooding, we still managed to see everything we wanted to, and make all our tee times! Rick checked on us to make sure there was no problem with the property and that we were OK, which was very kind. Well appointed with good WiFi and Satellite TV. Would never hesitate to stay here or recommend to anyone else. The distance from the city is really not a problem at all, so don't let it deter you from considering this home.
We were very impressed with this vacation home. It was exactly as listed, they had everything you could need in the way of dishes, linens, and etc. The beds were very comfortable. The home was well maintained and decorated very nice. Castroville is a very nice town with a lot to do and a lot to see. The drive to San Antonio is very close -- approximately 20 minutes to get to the NW side by Sea World and about the same to Lackland. The owners were great and made recommendations for eating, sights to see, and even left numbers should any issues arise (none did). They prepared a binder to make it easy to log onto the Internet, work the television, and eating recommedations. Light switches were labeled and marked so you knew what worked which light or fan. They thought of everything to make your stay very, very nice. I would highly recommend taking a look at this property for next vacation -- you will not be disappointed. Our stay was very nice and I would stay there again. My daughter said it all -- Mom, do you think they would sell this house -- I want to stay here.
We stayed here recently after leaving a different rental property due to a bad experience. We were so relieved to find that the setting and photos were exactly as pictured and described. The area is quiet, and the property manager lives across the street if needed. The location is about 30 minutes from San Antonio, but is a quick drive on US-90, and we encountered no traffic during the times we drove it. The property is clean and provides alot of room to spread out. Although there were only three of us, a larger group would be equally comfortable. WiFi works great, allowing us to keep up with work when needed, and TV is good quality with lots of channels for those who must have it. Rick was amazingly accommodating to us, letting us arrive within hours of contacting him when we needed to immediately vacate our previous property. I'm so thankful the property was available and he answered the phone when we called, moving quickly to email us the paperwork and get us on our way, keeping our trip on track. I'm only sorry I didn't choose this home the first time, basing my decision on proximity to San Antonio only was a mistake. Although we didn't have a chance to explore Castroville, we did lots of things in San Antonio. Would highly recommend LaGloria restaurant for authentic Mexican food at the very north end of the RiverWalk near the Pearl Brewery. A little out of the way, but more than worth the trip, just like this home.
The Redbud House is a great place to stay when visiting San Antonio, TX. We stayed here for our son's BMT graduation weekend. The house has all the amenities that you will need for your stay, three bedrooms, a room will a fold out futon, plenty of seating, and the house is nicely decorated. It is about 20 - 25 minutes from Lackland AFB, but it is well worth the drive. There was no traffic (unlike on the loop) so the drive was easy. The application process was painless, the owner very easy to work with, and everything went smoothly. Give this house a chance! You will not regret it.
Super a conseiller
