At PK's Place, you're conveniently situated mid-way between Buena Vista and Salida (approximately 20 minutes to each) with easy access from Highway 285, but far enough that there's not traffic noise. With PK's Place as your basecamp, you can easily visit Salida's charming shops, restaurants and galleries or experience world-class hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and other outdoor adventures that are all close by.
All Pinon homes are "vacation ready" with a fully appointed kitchen, towels and linens. Hand, dish, shower and laundry soaps are provided, as well as toilet paper, trash bags, salt and pepper and coffee filters.
Pinon Vacation Rentals provides guest support from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm.

This place was absolutely beautiful. It had a nicely stocked kitchen and plenty of space for our family to relax. It was a great place to base our vacation out of. The next time we come to the area we will check to see if this place is available again.
This was a wonderful property for our family and two dogs! We spent two weeks, and our daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids (4 and 1) were with us the first week. Our grandson enjoyed hiking down the private trail to Brown's Creek and tossing pine cones into the creek. There were games and toys in the basement for the kiddos to play with. We enjoyed the pool table and hot tub, but the main attraction was the views! The moon and stars at night were on full display thanks to the dark skies neighborhood. And we awoke each morning to the sunrise reflecting on the Chalk Cliffs of Mt. Princeton. The home is surrounded by views of five 14ers and numerous other peaks. The many large windows ensure views from anywhere in the house. The house is well-appointed with everything you need for your stay. It's situated halfway between Salida and Buena Vista for easy access to groceries and dining. Just a few miles from numerous trailheads. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced yard, the trail, and walking along the road, which had little traffic.

This home is absolutely beautiful. The property is huge and we really appreciated the time that had been spent building the trail down to the creek. It’s rare to find a home that is both dog and kid friendly. There were dog beds and bowls, leashes and other things to make our puppies right at home. Thank you for a wonderful home with views that never stopped!

We had a great time there, the views from the bedrooms are spectacular and the house itself was great. Everything was very clean. A well stocked kitchen made cooking easy. And the hot tub under the stars really topped things off.

As a CO native, but living in the South for the last 20 years, I was so excited to have the opportunity to have views that the property offers. Even my brothers, who both still live in CO wanted to get more information on this rental for future utilization. It was perfect. Only minor cleaning issues, but during Covid, easily understood. Hope we get a chance to go back.

We had a great stay at PK’s place! The owners were incredibly kind, generous, and easy to talk to. The property was amazing! There are windows everywhere to let the beautiful outdoors in. The rooms are spacious. The decks and balconies allow for time outside. The dog yard is nice for the pups and includes rocking chairs, picnic table, grill, fire pit, and incredible scenery! The kids enjoyed the hot tub (16-21), but we older folks opted out. PK’s Place is a great year-round location to stay and enjoy the scenery of Salida. It’s close to several hiking trails, two cute towns, and we even found a frozen lake to play on! We will return!

This property has it all - scenery, amenities, and space. The nights are extremely quiet with a perfect view of the stars. We had a short weekend stay there which accomplished our goal of catching up with friends and unplugging from our hectic lives.
BV, Nathrop, and Salida are always beautiful, and this trip was no exception! The house was clean, cozy, and just what we wanted for a base camp. Evening pool and foosball games were a definite plus! Thank you!
Great combination of excellent views, beautiful home, and great location between Salida and Chalk Creek. Loved the collection of books, games, CDs, and views from every window. Great times in this home and in the region. The back deck sits about the treetops for long unimpeded views and great bird watching. Love hearing Browns Creek flowing below and spending time along the creek path.
We loved staying at this house! It was a lot more room than we needed for me, my husband and our dog Foxy, but we were very comfortable! Truly felt at home. The kitchen was fully stocked, a large dog bed & other pet items were available if needed, and the creek is a very, very short walk behind the property. Everything is organized and there are small notes for the lights, details about trash pick-up, and they do provide dish soap, laundry detergent, some toiletries, dishwasher detergent, extra linens and paper products. Management of the property is well done!! I can’t say enough about the views. I loved waking up in the mornings and seeing the mountains right out the window!! The porches and side yard were perfect for relaxing outside. The property is very close to “public lands” and a great hike, Browns Creek, which is a neat hike out and back to some falls and a lake. Out and back is 13 miles, not 12 as the signs suggest. :) Arkansas River Trail is close by too. We would definitely come back! Pinon seems to be very organized and thorough. In the future when booking other areas in Colorado, I will try to find a property managed by Pinon. The morning of check in, the company had checked in with me via text, and gave me a recommendation for a local grocery store. This was very kind of Pinon Rentals! The only minor inconvenience was that we didn’t receive our check in instructions until 7:00 pm the day of check in, which was a few minutes after we arrived to the property and I’d sent a couple texts and phone calls. When I did get ahold of someone, the lady was very nice, apologized, and sent me the instructions right away. Again, very small issue. We were exploring in Buena Vista, which is why we didn’t arrive until later anyways. If you do intend to cook, which we did, be sure to bring your own foil! :)
Ended up just being two of us, in town for a race in Buena Vista. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want or need. Views were wonderful. Super quiet, clean. Hope to come again with the family! Thank you so much.

The mountain views are incredible. The neighborhood is quite and conveniently located near hiking trails, the Arkansas river, BV and Salida. The house is clean and well appointed. The only thing that could have made the stay even better would have been an extra half-bath on the main level. Still, we would highly recommend.
Pk’s place was the perfect place for our family. Every room in the house has an amazing view! We enjoyed the location between Salida and Buena Vista. Perfect for our fur baby as well!

We’ve rented a lot of different properties and this was, by far, the best one. The location is great, the scenery amazing, the house is homey and comfortable (unlike many that feel like garage sale/Walmart), and the kitchen beautifully stocked. Loved this place. Already planning our next visit.
This was an absolutely perfect place to come back to after playing in the mountains or on the river each day. Spacious, clean, comfortable and with a view that was worth waking up to in the morning. Very useable space with opportunity to spread out to read, watch tv, or play pool/fuseball. All six of us had a great time!
Great experience at PK’s place. Perfect location for activities. House was roomy and fit out needs perfectly. Kids enjoyed the game room and adults loved the patio/decks. Nice and quiet rural neighborhood.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at PK's! The neighborhood is private and quiet with easy access to everything in the area. The home provided all we needed and more, plus wonderful views from every window. We loved the deck for relaxing and the fenced yard was great for our tiny adventurous chihuahua. It was fun to BBQ and picnic surrounded by nature and the sound of the creek below! We have been to the area many times and always find more to love! We'll be back!

The “360 views” were as beautiful as the advertisement, especially the master bedroom view and the back deck. The “cow gate” roadmap instructions were initially confusing until we could recognize the pattern. Overall, a remote location with neighborhood feel to it was pleasant. We enjoyed the general layout, basement gameroom, cleanliness, and outside seating areas with unforgettable view of nighttime stars. I highly recommend this house.

The property is gorgeous and perfect for a family get together. It's nice that they allow the furry family members to come as well. Some people prior to us did not pick up dog business, but other than that, the place was great for game play, reading, cooking, views, and hiking on snow packed trails.

We loved our stay at PK’s Place! Plenty of room to spread out, a well-equipped kitchen, and wonderful views from every window. This home was a perfect base camp for our exploring! Next time we will be sure to bring our dogs too!!
We were lucky to have found PKs place to host our family getaway. The location was fantastic; mid-way between both Salida and BV, the house was less than 15 minutes from Mt. Princeton Hot Springs about 45 minutes to Monarch Mountain. The house has 3 floors, and although we didn't use the basement space it certainly was large enough to accommodate our family of 6 adults, plus 2 small children. The mountain views from all bedrooms, and being a dark sky location the nights were incredible for stargazing. We were fortunate enough to visit during a meteorshower and managed to spot a shooting star or two. Terry and Tara, property managers, were both easy to get a hold of and very responsive. Three areas of opportunity: 1. We were notified right prior to our check-in that the gas fireplace was out of order. The common living space did get cold at night, and with two young children in the house it would have been nice to know this during booking 2. Underneath the couches and beds were not cleaned, with a bandaid being found by our daughter under the bed in the upstairs master. Not ideal. 3. The hot tub was out of order (it was noted as such during listing) but if in working order would really catapult PKs place to the next level! The skys are too beautiful to not enjoy with a good at home soak. Overall our group agreed that PKs place is a wonderful option, with a rating 4 out of 5, and we will stay again. The spot cleaning and the fire place outage docking the one star.
PK’s Place is such a special place. It is very comfortable, views are incredible, great location to the Monarch ski basin. Kids loved it just as much as we (the two adults) did!
Great great place. All bedrooms have excellent views and ample space. Kitchen has all the tools you’ll need to fix meals. Lovely fenced in yard with a grill and space for dogs to hang. Great balcony on the other side of the house. Location is great for those looking to be away from Salida and BV, but still have easy access to both of them. Can definitely see staying there again in our future.

Great house. Great neighborhood and views. Cute walk way to the river. Great location. Nice grill and everything you would need to cook and/or bake! We would love to come back sometime. Our dogs loved the walks around the neighborhood and the fully fenced in yard.

The space accommodated our group very well! We hosted the Groomsmen for a wedding and we were in a great spot for photos and resting while preparing. The numerous bathrooms and futons made getting ready so easy!
My sister and I, our hubby’s and 2 dogs loved PK’s Place! The location was perfect for hiking a variety of trails in the Sawatch Range...lots of space, views, Brown’s Creek in the backyard. The home is immaculate and beautifully decorated with plenty of privacy. The location is between the charming towns of Buena Vista and Salida with unlimited outdoor activities, quaint shopping and outdoor dining. Very nice house with lots of space in perfect location for kid activities and hiking. Kitchen was well equipped. Basics generously provided (dish soap, paper towels, trash bags). Short driveway not paved, and don't count on the hot tub shown in the photos, but was otherwise fantastic. Forest with small creek behind the house was wonderful.
360 degree views all around, great layout, convenient access to the creek! Definitely would use this place again.

This house had amazing views of surrounding mountains. Close to Salida and Buena Vista. Incredibly well equipped kitchen it even had a complete spice drawer. Lovely fenced patio area and decks. For us, the living room furniture arrangement was not quite comfortable for a larger group to lounge around together, although there are many futons in other rooms
Wonderful place that is close to everything my family enjoys!!! Fishing, fourteeners, and fireworks all in the same weekend. The kitchen was so nice to cook in and the layout is so open making it easy to have a great time with my kids. Rooms are big and very clean and the view is incredible......Thank you!
