As you turn down the long driveway you can already tell this is going to be a very special place. The unobstructed sweeping views are mesmerizing -- and this is before you even step foot into the house. After your ears adjust to the crashing waves and your eyes take in the endless oceanfront, you will soon notice that there are no other houses near you and there is nothing but you and the ocean. Ocean’s Crest offers the perfect setting for a classic Northern California coastal vacation as it sits on two and a half acres of ocean front property perched on a rocky bluff above Dillon Beach. You will share the property with the local deer and jack rabbits, and be inspired by the continuously soaring hawks, ravens, and California turkey vultures. As you enter the house you will be greeted with even more spectacular ocean views that stretch from Tomales Bay, Point Reyes and Dillon Beach at the south, to Bodega Bay at the north. Take a breath, relax, and enjoy Ocean’s Crest.
THE HOUSE IN A NUTSHELL:

* UPPER FLOOR (third level): One bedroom, ½ bath, laundry and loft
/sitting area with TV and games.
* LOWER FLOOR (first level): Master bedroom suite, private deck and master bath with clawfoot tub and separate shower -- all with full ocean views.
Ocean’s Crest is not your typical rental property, but our private vacation home that comes with many personal touches which we hope will make your stay in Dillon Beach more comfortable and enjoyable.
STAYING AT OCEAN’S CREST:
Ocean’s Crest sits high above the main beach area and the village of Dillon Beach. It’s on a very private bluff with a commanding view of the Pacific Ocean and of the greater Bodega Bay. It’s a mile drive to access the beach in town or you can hike directly from Ocean’s Crest and walk north on a one mile trail to a beautiful secluded beach at Estero De San Antonio which is accessible only to houses located in our development.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT OCEAN’S CREST:
1. Ocean’s Crest takes its name from the rugged steep hillside which the house is situated on and stands above the crest of the crashing ocean waves below. Once you have visited, you will understand the name.
2. The views have been mentioned many times already but let’s just mention the spectacular views one more time.
3. Privacy -- To the south you will see several houses on a ridge with Dillon Beach and Tomales Bay in the background. You can watch ocean surfers, sail surfers and kite flyers. To the north you will see the rugged coastline leading to Bodega Bay and at night you can clearly see the lights of Bodega Bay Harbor. To the west, directly in front of you, you will see fishing boats, spouting whales, soaring birds and an endless blue ocean.
4. There are comfortable, new beds in every room with USB ports near every bed.
5. Each of the four bedrooms is themed and decorated with matching fixtures, artwork and bedding (Whale Watch, Sandpiper Suite, Spyglass and The Nautilus).
6. It’s a short one-and-a-half hour drive from downtown San Francisco and the greater East Bay which makes it an ideal weekend getaway.
7. People love Ocean’s Crest! We have 5-star reviews of repeat renters going back for years.
8. Ocean’s Crest is a great multiple family vacation home, but it’s also a truly stunning setting for an intimate and romantic escape for one or two couples.
9. Relax and unwind with your favorite beverage (we have plenty of wine and martini glasses) as you look for the spouts of blue, grey and humpback whales right from the living room sofa using our high-powered telescope and several sets of binoculars that we leave out for guests.
A TOUR THROUGH THE HOUSE:
You enter on the main floor which is actually the second story of the house. The first thing you see upon entering the great room are the huge floor-to-ceiling windows stretching nearly the entire width of the house embracing the vast Pacific Ocean. As you can see from the photos, it is a view that you will never get tired of. The great room has a large sofa, two swivel chairs and a telescope for capturing whales and ships. There is a 50-inch smart TV and DVD player and a Sonos sound system. The large dining table can seat up to ten people. The kitchen is equipped with all the culinary items you’d expect to find at your own home and features a peninsula with stools to enjoy intimate breakfasts or conversation time with the chef.
Off of the great room is a spacious deck for entertaining. The deck then wraps around to a side area that has a barbeque and leads to a door which enters one of the two bedrooms that are located on this level.
On the right side of the main entry is the “Whale Watch” which is painted blue and features a king-sized bed and ocean views through a private window and a glass door that opens onto the deck. This room has a private entry to a full bathroom which is also accessed from the great room. It boasts a large shower with yet another ocean view. The closet in this bedroom has extra dining chairs, two card tables, a vacuum and an iron with a mini-ironing board.
On the left side of the main entry is the second master bedroom, “The Sandpiper Suite”. It features a queen-sized bed, a private full bath and hillside views. This is a very secluded and comfortable room which is easily accessed from the great room. The bathroom has a shower-over-the-tub and a generous sink area to spread out.
From the great room, an open stairway extends up to the open third story loft area. The loft has a fold-out double sofa and an easy chair. There are lots of board games and a large coffee table for hours of game playing. There is also a TV and DVD in the loft (this TV is not a smart TV and only operates with DVD’s or for gaming; no game consul is provided). Adjacent to the loft is a laundry area with washer and dryer which is available to our guests.
The third story also has a half-bath and the fourth bedroom which is called “Spyglass” because of the hexagon window that overlooks the ocean from the top floor. This is a great kid’s room but also works for adults as a private retreat. This nautically decorated room features a little step-stool for kids to use the toy spyglass-telescope to see out of the window in search of boats and whales. Spyglass has sleeping for four people with a twin-over-queen bunkbed and an additional separate twin bed. There are ocean views through the side and spyglass windows as well as hillside views from a third window.
The lower story is accessed through a private door at the rear of the great room. The entire first floor is the large master bedroom suite, “The Nautilus.” It is decorated in soft hues with shell motifs throughout. The first thing you notice about the Nautilus is the spectacular sweeping floor-to-ceiling views that are similar to what you saw in the great room. This is a very spacious and romantic room with a charming flame gas stove for heating and its own large, private deck. The room features a king-sized bed and a comfortable, overstuffed viewing chair. Off of the bedroom is the master bathroom with long countertops and double sinks, a glass shower and a large vintage clawfoot tub which is placed right in front of another full-sized window with sweeping ocean views.
EXPLORING THE BEACH:
There are three ways to experience the beach from Ocean’s Crest: Classic day at the beach, hike to privacy, or high-risk adventure.
1. Classic day at the beach: Load all of your beach gear and family into the car and drive down to the village at Dillon Beach. It’s best to pay for parking at the privately managed lot which is open to the public. The beach is very long, open, and sandy where you can enjoy swimming, surfing, sunbathing, and hunting for seashells. There is a small general store and restaurant nearby and restrooms are located at the parking lot.
2. Hike to privacy: A truly special experience awaits those willing to hike a one-mile trail to the Estero de San Antonio, which lies directly north of Ocean’s Crest. Wear sensible shoes as the trail has lose gravel and is very narrow and steep in some parts. From the top of the driveway, walk to the end of the cul-de-sac and pass through a cow-gate where the trail begins. Follow the bluff trail along the coast until you come to a ¼ mile long beach in front of the estuary. There are outstanding views along the hike, and rarely anybody else on the beach which makes this a unique opportunity to experience the Northern California coast without the weekend crowds of Dillon Beach proper. **make sure you stay on the designated trail and do not wander, we only have an easement to be on the trail and they do not allow dogs on this trail.
Security camera located on house / exterior of house over entryway facing driveway.
The owner's stay in the home one weekend a month , during their stay they do bring a small dog with them. We note this for those that may have severe pet allergies . We do clean and sanitize the home thoroughly after their stay in the home.
****We strongly advise our guests to purchase trip insurance for their reservation
IF the number of people exceeds the maximum allowed under the reservation contract renter agrees to forfeit their security deposit
The property Is even more amazing than the pictures! That rarely happens. The home is extremely comfortable, well appointed, great bedding, games. The VIEW wow! Our group loved that we could just sit, read, drink wine and play games all while feeling like we were right on the water (because you pretty much are right on the water). Zero complaints from anyone. Your whole family will thoroughly enjoy the property. Property manager was extremely prompt when I needed help with access. I would give it 10 stars if that were an option.
We had a wonderful time. The house was lovely and roomy. Great views of Tomales bay and the pacific.
We would absolutely stay here again! I don't think there could be a better view. We could see all the way from Bodega headlands to Tomales point with nothing between you besides the multitude of deer on the hill and hawks in the sky. I chose this house firstly because the living room is floor to ceiling windows. My elderly father could see all the stunning beauty without standing up from the couch. Also two of the bedrooms are on the main floor both with a bathroom. It was easy access to both the kitchen and living room. We had a beautiful suite downstairs with a bathroom and soaking tub. My teenagers had a sitting room, 1/2 bath and a bed room that could have slept 4 upstairs. The kitchen was well stocked. The deck was wonderful. I wish the weather would have allowed us the take advantage of it more than we could. We were all highly impressed with how sparkling clean the whole house was. Unfortunately we didn't have enough towels. Not even one per guest. But I think that may have just been a mistake/ oversite. LADIES they ask that you don't use the wash clothes to remove your eye makeup. While that is understandable, I wasn't prepared with a makeup towelette as I use wash clothes at home. It would be helpful to have this information in the pre-arrival Instructions (if it was I missed it and I apologize). Also they don't supply beach towels, which again, completely makes since. Just be prepared to bring your own if it is beach weather. (Side note....We went to Nick's Cove for lunch one day. What a great atmosphere! Good food. Not inexpensive but typical. They made seriously, one of the best Long Island Ice Tea, I've had in ages. I'd go back just for those if nothing else.) I hope we can return soon day.
We loved this house…the view was exquisite and the surrounding landscape is stunning. The house was comfortable fit for our group. Thank you!
My friends and I, 8 of us, all in our 60s, 70s,80s totally enjoyed ourselves. The house is beautiful and welcoming. It was well stocked. It had everything we needed. The only thing we changed, was we rolled up all the throw rugs. They didn’t lay flat and had bumps in them. We had a few ladies using walkers and the rugs seemed dangerous. Also since we were limited to just one can of trash and one can of recycling it would have been nice if there was not already trash in them. We managed anyway. All in all, it was wonderful! Thank you.
The house, particularly kitchen and baths were well appointed with any kind of supplies you could need. The key code sent to open the front door was incorrect, which was concerning since we arrived after sundown. The problem got resolved though not without some anxiety. Amazing location, we were 7 adults and there was more than enough room for everyone to have their space. Highly recommend this listing
Wonderful spacious home with amazing view for my 50th birthday girls weekend
We would have loved to stay longer.(2 nights) beautiful house on a cliff. Amazing ocean views . Fishing close by.
This was the best property we have stayed at in the Dillon Beach area. We loved the different levels. Each family was able to take one level. The views are phenomenal. Everything was clean and welcoming. We plan on staying here again, hopefully sooner than later! Thank you to the hosts for having such a great property.
My family and I had a wonderful vacation while staying at this property. The house was well furnished and clean. It was secluded and the view of the ocean was amazing. We would definitely stay there again.
Plenty of room for our family - we loved the beautiful views from the deck and the close proximity to the beach! Coastal kitchen and the general store were so cute and nice for our morning lattes and evening dinner!
This is one of the best places I have stayed at in Dillon Beach. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and the view is the best! They have this little spot with two chairs right below the property that is one of the most relaxing places to read a book, have a drink and/or have a great conversation. We will for sure be coming back!! Loved it SO much!
We had a great time at Ocean Crest. It was very clean and great for our friends and family. It was perfect for our group of 8. The views of the ocean were amazing! We would definitely stay again.
This house was perfect for our girl’s trip! It was clean and spacious and you never get tired of the ocean views! If I had to choose one thing I wish was improved it would be the cleanliness of the windows. There was so much sea spray buildup that it was hard to see through them.
Great home for multiple families. Kids enjoyed the upstairs loft and bedroom. The beds were all very comfortable. The view of the bay from the living room was stunning. Kitchen was stocked with everything needed for cooking. We really enjoyed the home and was sad to leave.
The house was better than I thought it would be and I thought it would be outstanding. Very clean. Well stocked kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and the views, amazing! The property manager was very responsive. The location is great and private. We had a wonderful experience at Ocean Crest. I couldn't imagine it being any better.
Loved this home. Thanks so much
First of all this house has a beautiful view of the ocean. The beds are all very comfortable. It has a nice big table for plenty of people to sit around and play games or eat. We had a wonderful time.
The ocean view was spectacular day and night, from sunrise to sunset we were in awe. Beach access is a nice short hike away. It was the perfect place to celebrate my Birthday. The host was attentive and we a wonderful time. I hope to return next year.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this home. The views were stellar, all the beds are very comfortable, fully stocked kitchen- very relaxing. It was very clean which we all appreciated. We look forward to our next visit
We had a much needed rest at this beautiful place. The view is incredible and the layout very well thought out.
What a gift to stay in this gorgeous space to get away from Covid and enjoy the beauty of the ocean every step of our stay!
Ocean’s Crest was a perfect weekend getaway with all of the amenities we needed in a home. The proximity to Dillon Beach, the hiking trails and the views will keep us coming back. Thank you for your hospitality.
I can’t say enough about this location and the house. We loved everything about it. The beach and the hiking trails were awesome too. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone.
The views are incredible. The house has a great layout for a vacation with friends. Very functional. It is well stocked with kitchen supplies, games, seating, etc. We don't want to leave!
We had a wonderful time & the house was perfect. The views made it so relaxing.
We had so much fun at this property! The house had everything we needed plus some. The view was amazing and we enjoyed the board games provided. It was a wonderful place to get away from the heat and relax with family. We loved watching the deer outside and the birds soaring right in front of the window. The binoculars at the house were fun to use to look out at the wildlife and boats. We will return sometime.
We needed a retreat from our own four walls in the East Bay - basically, wanted to relocate our sheter-in-place. Needed less than a two hour car ride, preferred a deserted stretch of coast. This house suited us perfectly. Our teenage daughter could retreat to the junior suite. Our ten year old son enjoyed the view of the deer passing by, the quail, the bunnies. The adults read and cooked - all with an amazing view as promised! The surprise part - and the best part - was the cow pasture access so close to the house. Access comes with renting in the neighborhood and it is hundreds of acres of stomping around ground. Our best memory was going to see the sun set over the ocean and the buck moon rise over the valley. Not to be missed!
This house has excellent ocean views (living room and master bedroom), a very nice location, and was outfitted exactly how we expected given the rental price. To keep this from sounding like faint praise I should say that the house was exactly what we wanted for our vacation with friends.
Views are more than amazing. Living room and dining room very spacious. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was a little tight and wasn't quite a stocked as we had hoped but we managed. We would definietly stay again!
Spectacular views! Overall, a very nice stay and would definitely come back again. Couple of suggestions: the grill did not work very well (did not heat up very well) and the grills had mold. We enjoyed the master suite and the open kitchen living area. Thank you!
Customer service was excellent-John was able to get internet back online on Christmas morning! House was very nice - incredible views! Kitchen was well stocked - best we've ever seen. Only issue was that main couch and beds were too soft - common whine amongst all of us. It would be great if upstairs couch could fold into another bed for 1 person. Master bedroom downstairs was wonderful.
Lovely oceanfront property overlooking vast blue seas, rugged coastline, and local wildlife. Home is very clean and comfortable, and stocked with books, magazines and games for a relaxing family stay. Dillon Beach is a quiet coastal village, a perfect escape from the daily hustle and bustle.
Couldn’t ask for a better view! Loved hearing the ocean at night. The house met our needs perfectly...a multigenerational family gathering. Our grandson loved the frequent visits by deer out the window. Thank you for sharing your home!
So grateful for the opportunity to stay here, waking up to this view is such a blessing and we definitely will choose to stay here again. No kidding, four deer were waiting on us to feed them for breakfast (fresh fruit only, please). Some of our throws went directly into the bushes, but apples are biodegradable thankfully.
Great location great property. Problem was having to leave due to fires and power outage Cutting out activities and a full day of our trip.
We used this house for a small work retreat and it was amazing!
pros: view is great, private, comfortable beds, enough bathrooms, enough seating at the table, & clean. Cons: gross tap water, big windows in living room doesn’t have blinds so you’re blinded all afternoon, water pressure is weak in showers, no walking trail beach access, Couch is so uncomfortable, no washer and dryer access, & not very good lighting (track lighting is blinding if you’re sitting in certain spots of dining room).
Great location! Great views! Wifi was excellent. The house was clean but bring extra towels. The ones they had were white and some had stains, I didn’t use mine. They only had two kitchen towels so you might need a couple more. The water is on a well and doesn’t taste great so bring waters to drink. Downstairs King bed is very soft and the couch in main living area is very tired and not very comfortable. It was a nice house but could use some updates for the price. Kitchen was stocked average and some of the plates and cups have cracks so again some updates to those would be nice as well. Fridge does not have ice maker so bring ice if you want cocktails. All and all it is a clean house with great views but unfortunately there are only two chairs on the deck. Two more would have been nice. Those too are tired and could use an update. Carpet was super clean and bathrooms were clean as well. It’s a good spot for a couple days. If it had updates to the couches, bedding and outdoor furniture it would have been 5 star for sure. Secluded location was super quiet and we could see dolphins from the deck. Short drive to the beach but again they don’t have any extra amenities so bring beach towels and chairs. Dillon beach is a great spot and the house was good overall.
After a long day on the road from Oregon along Hwy #1 we arrived at this Dillon beach house. The views are amazing!! The deer are plentiful and add to this beautiful seaside house. Few issues upon arrival but a quick call to James in the morning, as we arrived late the evening before, and he dealt with it. Thanks James for making our stay in Dillon beach comfortable.
This was an amazing house to stay in and watch the ocean ! Incredible
Ocean Crest is a beautiful and comfortable home with gorgeous views of the ocean. We would love to stay here again. Thanks to the owners for sharing this home with us.
The views from all the windows were amazing when it was clear. We were here from PA with 3 of our children and their spouses for our nephews wedding and there was plenty of room for all of us.
We had a wonderful stay at this house. The only down side was that 3 of the 5 days it was so foggy we couldn't see the ocean. It was also cold. This is no fault of the homeowner but I'm posting this so that new visitors know to bring plenty of warm clothes. On the days we could see the ocean the view was amazing. We left the house every day and just a mile or so inland the sun was out and it was warm. We would definitely come back to this house. If you go, you've got to check out the bakery in Tamales. Delicious
Online the house looked lovely with an outstanding views but the house needs interior painted- draws need to cleaned out - it was rather unsettling that the closets had personal items (jeans-robe-crutches- coats) we have stayed at other houses & this was very disappointing The charge for cleaning should be refunded we left it in better shape than when we arrived
Most wonderful weather and other worldly views. Wildlife abounds. The house is fully stocked and probably the most secluded of all properties in Ocean Marin. Second time to stay there, and it was even better this time.
LOVED the house, amazing view, very easy to work with property manager. Highly recommend!!
What a view!!! The home was well kept, and is isolated from other homes. Nice layout of rooms and very cozy, plenty of room for 6 people. If you are planning on bring a boat bring tire chocks and you will need to back it down the driveway, my 22ft fit perfect. If you're adventurous you can make your way down to the hiking trail about 100 yards below the house or hike up the driveway, go to the end of Oceana street and the trail head begins there. The trail takes you to a super secluded beach at San Antonio Creek about a 25 minute hike. Bring extra towels as you are only supplied with one for your stay. There were no napkins and only one roll of paper towels. These were minor issues that fall by the wayside. I would recommend this home to anyone looking to visit Dillon Beach and we're planning our next stay already.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ocean Crest. The driveway is a little scary, but once you get past that, the house is fabulous. Four bedrooms, each with a bathroom or powder room, all very private. A great dining table with lots of room and incredible views of the bay. It's a bit remote, so bring lots of food, although the market down the hill has a pretty good selection of last minute items .
We had a great vacation with our friends. Home very spacious and the view is spectacular! Many wonderful side trips to Redwoods, delicious wild flour bakery and sightseeing.
Had a great experience
We had a small family gathering and this house had more than enough room for everyone to gather or do your own thing. Very stormy during our stay but the changing view made it even more memorable. We loved it!!
I have stayed in Dillon Beach many times, and this house takes the cake for the views. Uninterrupted views of the ocean with no houses ahead. The house layout is also great and the three floors allow for some separation and privacy. We truly enjoyed our stay and this beautiful home. Just a few things that could have been better, but did not effect our good time. The wifi did not work at all. The lights went out during our stay (through no fault of the home), and there were barely any candles around. It would've been nice to have some candles or flashlights somewhere in the house for situations like these. There were no washer and dryer, which is not a big deal, but we were with children and it would have been nice to throw their ocean soaked clothes in afterwards. We had a blast. This house was magnificent and we would definitely stay there again.
We had a wonderful stay, the house is in a great location with amazing views, it is well maintained and the kitchen is very well stocked.
Very nice stay and a great way to start the new year, will be back! must have taken 300 pictures just from inside the house. Very clean.
The location of this home is spectacular. You can sit on the couch and simply stare at the remarkable view of Tomales Bay. The home is well maintained, clean and has many cute touches to make you feel like you are visiting a friend, not just renting a vacation home. The kitchen is well stocked for any meal, the appliances quite nice and the dining area has the capacity for eight or more guests. Sleeping is comfortable and nice towels and linens are provided. Wifi worked well, games are provided and the television had great reception. This is a place our family would love to visit in the future .
Spacious, well-equipped home with beautiful views. The drive down the driveway when arriving at the property for the first time was memorable. Great value, highly recommended
This home fit our needs perfectly. The multiple decks with amazing views, ample dining table, living room and kitchen area. The bedrooms were all comfortable and separated for privacy. Could not have been happier with this choice.
This property sits high on the cliffs just north of Dillons Beach. The house is just as described in the listing and was very comfortable for our four couples. The views of the beach, ocean, and cliffs were absolutely spectacular and the pictures can't do it justice! You must see for yourself! The beds were comfortable with big fluffy pillows, a set of fresh towels in each bed, and amenities in each shower. The kitchen had all the dishes, pots, and silverware we could imagine. You won't be disappointed with this home full of character!
We surprised our mom for her birthday with a weekend at Dillon beach. This house was everything we could have asked for. Spacious, comfortable, and beautiful!! We would definitely stay here again!
My wife and I completely enjoyed our stay at your house in Dillon Beach. The views of the ocean and surrounding shoreline were amazing. The house was clean and comfortable. The only negative was the lack of dining in the area, but Petaluma was close enough to suffice. We would recommend this location to anyone looking for some peace and quiet in a beautiful natural setting.
Believe me when I say it has been a year since I slept as good as I did at this house! It wasn't just the sea breeze, it was a super comfy bed, fluffy pillows, and enough space between the 7 of us that we could find quiet when needed. The showers were always hot, and because the house was well equipped and had such a beautiful view, we seldom went out for meals. It could not have been a more perfect place to enjoy food, wine and family!
Absolutely stunning views from every room. Wonderful to wake up to the ocean pounding against the rocks right below you. Peaceful and quiet. The very steep drive is a little alarming (a barrier at the bottom would be nice!) but the location is unbeatable. Comfortable beds, everything provided. Kitchen a little basic but enough for your needs. Double bedrooms over three levels mean everyone has their privacy - perfect for couples vacationing with friends. Would definitely recommend.
Nice, well kept home with spectacular views.
We loved this house. It was very cozy and you could sit for days on end looking out at that view. The week flew by too fast and we didn't want to leave. There is a private hiking area to the right of the property that we did twice, and we also walked the entire length of the beach twice. The owners were amazing and John was awesome as well -- very fast to respond to anything you may need. Don't miss the sunsets from this house, they are unbeatable. We rushed back to the house each evening to catch them since they are so spectacular. We can't wait to go back!
Went here for a retreat with my siblings to recover after the recent loss of our mother. The house was nice and clean. No complaints on anything about the condition of the accommodations. The pictures posted are very accurate. There are a couple things it would have been good to know in advance. While washer and dryer are not listed on the property description, our assumption was that there would be one. Indeed there is but locked in a closet and inaccessible to guests. I did inquire and was told something about a pump. The other major inconvenience to be aware of is there is absolutely no cell service. We had phones with 3 different carrriers AT&T, Sprint and Cricket Wireless. Zero service. Not good as there is also no landline phone. The prop manager sent instructions on how to connect cellular via internet which we tried unsuccessfully. Luckily, there were no emegencies there or at our homes. Lastly, be aware there are no regular grocery stores nearby. Other than those inconveniences, we did enjoy the place. Most likley would not go back for the reasons above
Internet was spotty at best. All else was great. Linda handled all contact with us. She was always prompt and very helpful.
We love this house, its location, and views!! This is our second spring break visit, and we'd love to come back again next year! Well-appointed house with plenty of room and everything you'd need for a blissful getaway. Can't recommend it more highly!
There were 6 of us who stayed there. We enjoyed the view. It has a very steep driveway and the house sits well above the beach. In the picture it looks like it is just off the deck. The large dining table provided a great card playing area. It was clean and comfortable. It was off season so the deli and the store had very little to purchase. We headed to Petaluma for groceries(30min drive). The next day we drove to the Dillon Beach Resort and that general store had much more to choose from grocery wise. The cafe looked delicious and smelled great, but we didn't have time to eat there. Parking was $10 at the beach and was beautiful. We also enjoyed visiting Pt. Reyes Station, Freestone (amazing bakery!!!) and a quick afternoon in Sebastopol, where we really enjoyed Plow & Hearth wine tasting in a private room. They have outdoor open fire pits that were full. We finished the day at Gravenstein Grill. Delicious!
We had a wonderful time in this home, the views are absolutely gorgeous. The weather was perfect and the sunsets are stunning. Plenty of room for our extended family. Master bedroom downstairs is large and both the bedroom and bathroom have views of the ocean. The home was clean and the property manager had music playing for our arrival which was very nice and inviting. We had some questions about where to dine and the property manager was nice enough to give us some of his recommendations for dining out for one evening. We highly recommend this Vacation Rental, the home is nice the management company is responsive to all of our questions pertaining to the booking. Ellen
While the house is as the photo shows I was not impressed by customer service. There was a $XXX cleaning fee, but we were still charged $xx for leaving a couple of over-sized pans in sink. What is the cleaning fee for if not for cleaning such incidentals? We definitely did not leave the house in a state that it will need ~6 hours of cleaner time. We were also charged $xx for missing towels. Really? I am not even sure how to convince someone that I did not take their towels? Should I take a photo of every towel that was provided when we entered, and then a photo and location of every towel when we left? The property has one very nice bedroom, and is really good if you are a single family traveling. If more than one family, then someone will have to take the bedroom without any views. Be aware of that if booking in a group.
Very relaxing spot with amazing views throughout the house.
This oceanfront home is private and comfortable. Our two families (with an 18 month old, 4 and 7 year old) had a wonderful visit - we particularly loved hiking the nearby trails and watching the hawks, deer and of course waves right outside the windows.
You have to see in person, to understand how stunning the views are. We love staying here whenever we want a peaceful getaway. Waking up to deer outside your window with the ocean as your backdrop never gets old. Watching the sunset over the ocean and listening to the roar of the waves never gets old. This beach house is truly amazing!
The house has wonderful view to the beach without any obstruction. It had enough bathrooms for 4 couples. We've been vacationing to many places, but we all agree that this place is by far the best. The only caveat is that all the shower rooms have clear windows without curtains. Some may like it, but it was weird for us.
Everything was perfect. We had a great time!
We have traveled all over the world, but we have never seen a home setting as magnificent as this one. When we arrived, the fog had set in and we could not see the ocean. However, when I got up in the night there was a full moon shining on the Pacific ocean and it was an unbelievable site.It was the perfect way to end our trip. The house was basic but comfortable.
This is the best place to stay in Dillon Beach. The views are magnificent and the house is very well furnished. We loved it beyond words. You cannot find better views anywhere. The hosts are very helpful and we had a trip of a lifetime. One of our group was just in tears because this fulfilled a bucket list experience for her. It is an amazing place! We are so glad to have been able to stay here!!!!
My husband and I shared this home with 3 other couples. The views were definitely beautiful from the master bedroom and the living room/kitchen. We paid a significantly higher amount for the master bedroom since it was the only bedroom with dramatic views, and were super disappointed. The fireplace didn't work, even when we used the thermostat as requested. The master bathroom REEKED of urine- it was repulsive, and wafted into the bedroom. There's carpet in the bathroom, so maybe years of people missing the toilet? It was disgusting. Had to hold my breath in the restroom and shower, and couldn't take a relaxing bath because of the smell. I saw that a reviewer from a while back said it smelled as well. The decor of the house is really dated, random, and unattractive. Lots of odd art hanging on the walls, everything was mismatched and tacky. We were required to pay a high cleaning fee, which I understand, but then we were requested to do all of our dishes and take out the trash. Doing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen for a weekend with 8 people is a lot of work when you are also being paid a cleaning fee. The house cleaners were coming a half hour after we left, so I couldn't understand why we had to clean so much. I was aware that our contract said it would take up to 3 weeks to receive our very large deposit back, but I didn't think it would take that long. The owner informed me that the billing dept. would be taking care of it in two weeks, and on the third week I still hadn't received it. I think the deposits should be returned within a week- it’s a lot of money to be held for that long. Long story short- you're paying for the views. There are many other houses with beautiful views in the area, so I would choose a different home next time.
awesome weekend rental
My husband and I stayed here for a week and had an amazing relaxing time. The house is very secluded and quiet and one can hear the ocean all night. I have a stressful job and normally do not sleep well - one night I slept 11 hours. I couldn't believe it! The other rooms are not nearly as fantastic (view wise) as the master, so if going with a group the couple or person in the master should pay a little more to make it fair. Each of the bedrooms has it's own bathroom which is a plus. The area is beautiful and very quiet. We went wine tasting, hiking, tried oysters at Marshall's, and hung out in the house which was such a treat. I recommend Nick's Cove and Rockerfeller Oysters for dinner.
My family and I had the most amazing time! The pictures do not even do this property justice!! I only wish we had booked for a longer stay. You definately have a hard time heading home after staying here. The house was very bright and welcoming, and the VIEWS...AMAZING!! We can't wait to book our next family vacation!
Wonderful location with great rooms, well stocked kitchen, nice bathrooms and bedroom and spectacular views. A few difficulties were sluggish and sometimes no WiFi, small flat screen for size of living room, elaborate request to separate garbage but no separating cans, no one met us as promised and we never used a key as we found it unlocked.
We had a wonderful stay at this home over the July 4th long weekend. It was a mini family reunion and we had about 10 people - from grandparents in their 60s, 2 couples, kids aged 12 & 6 and 2 infants. Everyone had a great time! There was enough room for all of us to be comfortable but also enough common space to hang out, play games and have a good time. The top things, besides the amazing view, was the fact that the kitchen was really well stocked, and they provided warm down jackets which was very thoughtful and much needed. The only 2 things that I would mention that could be better were that the large glass windows in the bedrooms, while lovely, meant that there would be a lot of sunlight coming in in the morning, and there were no curtains or blinds (unless it was some ultra high tech blinds and we just couldn't find any button or anything to operate them) - this was a challenge especially for my twin infants and I didn't want them waking up too early in the morning but luckily one room on the main level was dark enough with blinds so we put them in there. The second was that the fire alarm had low battery so it kept beeping for the whole time we were there (although this is our fault; we could have let the owner or manager know and I'm sure they would have fixed it). We also walked down to the beach and then had lunch at the cafe, which was really nice - great veggie burgers! :) Thank you for renting out this lovely home, we will have some great memories of this place!
The house was very nice and the views awesome! Very comfortable beds and the house was very clean. Everything we needed in the kitchen was also provided. Only downsides for us was that the driveway was very steep and was glad we had a vehicle that could handle that. Blinds on the windows would be good to block some of the light - especially for when the sun comes up as the bedrooms get very bright early. The deck was also a little scary to go out on.
Property is very nice, excellent views, great trails to get down to private beaches. Saw dolphins, a lot of deer. Blessed with little wind for the majority of the stay. House was perfect for 8 people. Can hear waves with the windows open. Master bedroom does get a funky smell sometimes. Only one bath towel per person. Overall it was an excellent experience for the family! Would come back to the same property.
Fantastic views, house was great for 3 couples and close to everything
Our four couples (three in their early 30s, one in their early 60s) found the property to be a perfect combination of private and communal space with ocean views that took our breath away. While there was no easy access to the beach, we enjoyed hiking at Point Reyes, watching the cows from the house balcony, and amazing star gazing. The house was very clean and well appointed and provided a wonderful spot for our multi-generational get together.
The views from every room make you feel peaceful and happy to be alive. Thanks so much for a great stay.
We had a fantastic week at Dillon beach, and plan to come back, perhaps every year! The property is amazing. The ocean views are unobstructed, the sound of the waves so calming, and the house itself is both roomy and cozy. We were six adults and two kids, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen is open-plan and well-stocked with pots and pans, so we cooked at home every night, eating dinner while watching the sunset. We had to ration our wireless usage, because data is limited and cell connection spotty, but that meant more time for storytelling and games. All in all, a wonderful stay! PS: Don't miss the nearby Marshall Store for lunch, which has the best raw and barbecued oysters, with fantastic outdoor seating.
Lovely place to call home for a few days. Clean and everything you need is provided. I am a suck for my own bed and usually have problems sleeping somewhere else but even the beds were comfortable. We took in a wine festival and drove to Sonoma & Napa Valley every day of our trip which took about 45 minutes and would return every evening to our peaceful place over looking the ocean. The drive along the winding country roads never got old (just watch for cows on the road). If you are considering this place to stay don't hesitate you will not find another place any better than this.
Our week at the Dillon Beach house will be full of memories, the house is very warm, nice kitchen, 4 bedrooms, and 4 bath, we had 6 adults on this trip and there is plenty of room and area to relax... now to the scenery… every morning we all said how lucky we were to have rented this home, from the deer outside our windows every morning and evening to the peaceful sounds of the waves falling asleep and waking up, you have to see it to believe it! The owners have done a great job making sure you feel at home away from home. To the owners I want to thank you for making out trip that much more special! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Our family had a wonderful stay at this home. The ocean views are outstanding. There was plenty of room for the entire family to relax, play card games and tell family stories to the young ones who actually seemed to enjoy hearing them. The home was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped for our cooking needs. Wonderful stay, wonderful house. Thank you for sharing your home with us Teresa
This home has it all, views and privacy. Our family consists of 3 families and there was room for the adults and the children both. The property manager had soft music playing for our arrival and interior lights on which made it very nice since we arrived in the dark. Plenty of room to enjoy the family and yet we had the privacy of our own bedrooms and baths. We sat on the deck listening to the roar of the ocean (which you can certainly hear inside the home too). The home was very clean which we very much appreciated. We called the property manager John for suggestions to where to go to dinner and he got back to us within 10 minutes, he was very helpful. We enjoyed this wonderful home and we will be back again in 6 months! Carla
- The location of the house could not be more perfect. Great views, great walking trail and not a far drive from the coast. - As for the house itself, the rooms served their purpose, furniture is outdated but was fine. - Very strict with contract, no wiggle room or flexibility from the rental company. - HERE is the reason for the 3 STAR review... The master bedroom and bath were a huge selling point (claw foot tub, overlooking the ocean) and a huge disappointment. The entire bathroom was ruined by a strong moldy sewer smell. The property managers were clearly aware, by placing several different air fresheners throughout the bathroom to cover up the smell...which were no help. I was told that a repair man was there before our check in, and obviously the problem was not fixed. We had to keep the entire master bathroom closed off so that the smell wouldn't contaminate the bedroom as well. Needless to say, no baths were taken and had to use the upstairs bathroom for all needs :(
We are a family of six and this is our first time coming to Dillon Beach, and we will be coming back again. This home was perfect for our first time to this area. I can not say enough about the fabulous views from this home, we listened to the roar of the ocean and at night we were able to view the stars clearly. The home was very clean and the property manager had soothing music on for our arrival. We had a question about the use of the BBQ and the property manager John was there to assist us within five minutes. We loved our stay here and if we could give this home more than five stars we would. Thank you for opening up your home to us and we hope we can come again for another stay! LS
We came from Los Angeles to stay here for the view and seclusion. It took us about 5 minutes before we could even enter the house. Not because we couldn't get in but because we had to process the view. Once inside we traveled to every room which was greeted with a WOW! The kids called the room upstairs while we, of course, called the room downstairs ours. While unpacking and getting a feel for the house we noticed a few things that needed attending. Not a problem because John was there to address any need we had with a gracious smile on his face. We stayed for 5 days cooking every meal in the home. They had plenty of pots and pans, dishes, and gadgets. When I needed a blender John was there with one. The beds were comfortable, warm, and cozy. The heating elements were in order and we enjoyed the fire in the bedroom. There are plenty of books not only about the areas wildlife, habitats, and history but also everything else. There were TV's which we didn't touch. We brought our devices to stream music which caused a minor problem, not enough data usage for the house. John quickly fixed that too but it would be nice to not have to think about it. We bathed in the bathtub every night which was a treat. We also walked around through the Estero and down to the beach to find treasure and fish. We saw bobcat tracks (there was a book in the house on animal tracks and their scat, so cool). We drove south and saw the lighthouse, elephant seals, and picked up oysters at all the farms we could. Thank you for a marvelous house to stay in. Food for thought: children ok but there are steep stairs. One has a door for access and the other doesn't.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with my family. It was everything we had hoped for and more. We really enjoyed that everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom.....and the master bath was exceptional. The views were amazing and the home had everything one would need for just about anything. Our one son and wife visited Napa one day which is just an hour drive and the whole family traveled to Vallejo to Ferry to San Francisco on another day. Other days were at the Jetti at Doran Park and Schoolhouse beach where my grandson was able to explore the tide pools. We are all looking forward to our next family get away at this vacation rental.
This was a beautiful home and we felt very comfortable staying here. The view to the ocean is breathtaking and we felt as though everything we needed was there at this home. We will definitely come here again on our next Dillon's beach trip.
We had a great time staying here for three nights. The rooms were all lovely, especially the Master. It has its own small patio too. There are unobstructed views throughout the house except for when the fog sets in. And even that is really cool looking! The location is very secluded and quiet. A perfect choice for a relaxing getaway. The house is stocked well and very clean. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great location with beautiful views. A great sleepy beach town getaway for adults!
This house and location has the best of everything. It feels as if you're at the edge of the world and the entire ocean view is all your own, yet you're also just a few minutes from beach walks and trails as well as a cute cafe. The common spaces feel open and accessible for multiple activities, while each bedroom has enough privacy to escape from a large group and quietly read or sleep in. When we wanted seclusion, we didn't even leave the house--hours of reading, staring at the view, cooking fine meals. When we wanted adventure, we went inland for entertainment or upshore or downshore for water activities, fishing, and hikes. The rental property manager was friendly, accessible, had great local knowledge, and made us feel welcomed. He provided extra assistance when we locked our keys in our car, all with a smile. We were there during early May and enjoyed the weather, but the dramatic landscape made me long to see the place in winter, as I'm sure it's epic. I look forward to returning in years to come!
It's located at the top of a hill, and thus affords privacy and offers a spectacular view. Everything is clean and beautiful. It's close to some good hiking and the fishing was pretty good too. I'm normally a bundle of stress, and while I stayed here I was able to forget about the real world for a while and just enjoy being alive. I wish I could've stayed for the rest of my life.
This place was beautiful! The house is at the end of a cul de sac and felt so private. Each bedroom was comfortable (especially the downstairs master). The kitchen was well equipped, the living/dining area open and welcoming ... with that view that I can't stop talking about. I will look very forward to coming here again!
Everything was amazing the minute we walked in the door! It was a cold foggy night but we arrived to a warm beautiful cozy lite up house. The house is well equipped and extremely comfortable. We couldn't wait to wake up in the morning and enjoy the spectacular views. We had coffee on the deck every morning starring out into the sea and surraounding hills. It's VERY private no houses really around you. We lucked out with great weather and just rested up. This will definelty be our destination house at Dillon Beach from now on. Can't recommend it enough!!
A steep driveway leads you down to this house perched on the edge of a cliff presiding over stunning 180 degree ocean views. It takes your breath away and then returns it, deepened and slowed down, this beautiful, serene, well-appointed house so spacious and comfortable and ideal for a group. Walks on the beach and along the estero, the infinite, changing moods of the sea from the living room windows, sunsets with the moon rising in the eastern sky, cooking and eating and laughing and talking, games and cards ..... All the time we spent with friends in this unique setting became quality time and we cannot wait to come back.
The home is lovely, with great views! We actually saw deers while we ate breakfast! The beach is not walkable from the house, which is the only negative part of the rental!
I can not say enough about the views from this home. A huge master bedroom and bath. Perfect home for entertaining. Home was very clean and offers privacy. Highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a special place to stay.
