Beautiful home in a great location. Access to Starfish Point, Kaibo Yacht Club, and Rum Point. Great beach and dock right behind the house. Large kitchen with plenty of seating for everyone. Comfortable beds. Would stay here again!!!
Property was in good condition
What a great location. Quiet and private and so close to starfish point. The house was very well stocked and very clean. The kitchen had every appliance you could possibly need.
Loved staying in this secluded house by Star Point. The pool was patio area was perfect for the kids and for gathering together. Tons of areas to eat dinner, play cards, etc. the beach is awesome and having access to the SUPs and kayaks were great. Loved our visit!
We rented Kai Conut for a big family trip on my husbands 70 bday. We had a great trip and the house, pool and beach were so wonderful! Plenty of space for all 7 of us to spread out and sleep well. Would do again for sure!
The property is well-cared for and the kitchen is very well-equipped. We spent most of our time on the huge patio with all of the tables, chairs and lounge chairs. The pool is perfect and the children loved it. Having our own private beach was fun, and the kids found lots of conch, a sting ray and other sea creatures. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the distance from the airport, grocery shopping and restaurants. Although there are a few nearby, we missed our favorites on Seven Mile Beach. I recommend the Rum Point Club for a nice evening out. The food was wonderful. However, if you are looking for a nice quiet place to vacation, Kai Conut can't be beat!
Kaicoconut was a fantastic experience from the moment we entered the villa. Although it was just my husband and I, the house was big enough for our daughter and grandkids to all have their own rooms if they had not had school. Unbelievable views from the house, outside area was very large with plenty of options for outdoor activities. Would have been a perfect 5 star rating if the fans on the patio had worked and we didn’t have a a/c leak in the front bathroom ceiling. We took advantage of all the great restaurants on the east end, especially The Lighthouse. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. Barbara Johnson
The property was located at the secluded end of a private street right next door to Starfish Point. It was perfect for our family of 10 ranging in age from 6 months to those in their 60s - the pool was great as well as the beach. There were kayaks and standup boards as well as pool toys for the kids. Very well equipped kitchen and altogether a very comfortable layout. We would recommend it highly.
Overall, a good experience and a nice place to stay. You couldn't ask for a better location as it is literally on Star Fish Point with the primary access to Star Fish Point just across the street. Kaibo Marina is an easy walk down the street for drinks or lunch. The house fronts the sound so you have a great view of the water and can even see all of the action of Sting Ray City off in the distance. The pool is a nice bonus for relaxing, especially at night. The house is fairly well equipped and the overall condition and experience was good. We did have a problem with the ice maker not making any ice for the first day. A call to Silver Thatch brought a delivery of ice in bags to compensate. Everything else worked great. Fantastic washer and dryer, AC cooled the house very well, etc. There were a couple of negative surprises. First, one of the bedrooms that opens to the living room has two openings in the top of the door. Not even glass; literally the top two panels of the six panel door are cut out for some reason. This means that whoever is sleeping in that room has all of the noise and light from the living room coming into their room. And they have no real privacy. This was not a good experience for the couple sleeping in this room. I can't imagine why this door was cut this way, but it could be an easy fix for the owner: just replace the door with a solid door. Another minor disappointment is that the closet in the master suite is locked. This means that there is no closet for use of the renter which meant we had to have our suitcases and clothes out in the bedroom (although there was plenty of drawer space for folded clothes). I would rather see the owner set aside a locked closet in the laundry room, etc, for their owner's closet and allow the renter to have the bedroom closet to hang clothes, store suitcases, etc. In fact, only two of the five bedrooms had closets available to the renter. Overall, the house was a good experience, and we enjoyed our stay very much. I would stay there again if they replace the one bedroom door mentioned above. Silver Thatch is a great company to work with and is very responsive to needs.
Wonderful home to stay at, the last home on the north side past Rum Point. The home was great and more than enough room for two families of four. It was very clean and neat the pool our kids lived in for the week. We didn't cook much at home but full kitchen for appetizers and drinks to have at the pool and beach. We spent several hours in the ocean and did go see the Sting Rays. we went out of Rum Point through Red Sail Tours as there was a total of 12 people on the Catamaran going to the Sting Rays so we spent a lot of one on one with them and the crew! Judy and her husband are the people who care for the house and they came buy often to see if we needed anything very wonderful people and quite helpful. I would definitely return to the Cayman Islands and this home!
Everything was in good working order. The pool and beach areas were well maintained. The views from the house and terrace were exactly what landlubbers wish for when they come to the islands! And the Grand Cayman weather was lovely.
Perfect for kids and large families! All 12 of us had plenty or room! We will be back!
Our family had a wonderful experience at Kia Conut, the house was very family friendly and allowed all 10 of us to have the best vacation. Enough room for reflection time, but also group activities. We were in the pool everyday and took advantage of the kayaks and paddle boards in the ocean. Location was very private. The children loved walking to Starfish Point Beach and Kiabo (for ice cream).
Our group of 12 family members had a fantastic vacation at Kai Conut. After thoroughly exploring the island we all agreed that it was the best location we could have chosen. Very private with beautiful views, great pool, nice beach & plenty of space. Adjacent to starfish point which allowed us to take morning and evening beach walks. Very convenient to kaibo for morning coffee and evening drinks, close to rum point and activities, accessible to 7 mile area by water taxi. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was plenty of comfortable seating for eating. Plenty of room on the couch also. The only complaint would be the queen size mattress needs to be replaced. It was very uncomfortable and noisy every time you moved. The mattress on the sleeper sofa was unusable. The two teens in the group were more comfortable on the floor. Overall I would highly recommend this property and the management company was professional, courteous and helpful.
We are a group of 10, my wife and I, our two grown daughters and their husbands, and our grand kids ages 2, 5, 10 and 13. After a long (50 minute) drive from the airport in two cars, and a stop at Rum Point for lunch (and a flat tire - my bad), we arrived at Kai Conut, and were very impressed. This is the perfect place for a lot of quality pool time, a beach just steps away, and we couldn't have been happier! By the way, for some reason all of the pictures I've found show the water kind of green, it's not. Very beautiful color and calm, perfect for kayaking. We stayed eight days, and the weather was perfect. One thing I did that worked out, was to get a 36 quart cooler with wheels, and I packed it with frozen meat. Enough for five meals for 10, and six pounds of bacon! It was stuffed. No problem flying on SW and no problem (though it was inspected) at Cayman customs. Cayman has fine meat, but wow, the prices. We even brought the cooler home, filled with non-food stuff. The kitchen comes well stocked with tons of spices, utensils and small appliances (although the waffle iron didn't work). We arrived on a Sunday, and the only place open was a tiny market called Chisholm's Grocery - it was open from 3-6pm. The next day we went to Hurley's, a good grocery, on Crewe road (next to a tire shop), and were amazed at the prices. Remember, multiply the price shown (Cayman dollars) by 1.22 to get USD. Oh, then I went to the liquor store next door, ouch. But, an adventure like this had to be well stocked. Kai Conut - very comfortable, spacious, casual, relaxing and fun. The pool deck was a blast, very relaxing and room for 10 people to spread out. The hammock got used a lot. As did the kayaks & paddle boards, as well as the beach chairs on the water's edge, and my wife especially liked the covered area on the pool deck for shade. Grandkids spent most of their time in the pool. They did gather wildlife and the only time we caught a lizard was when it got trapped in the porch. My daughter, her husband and their 2 yr old, used the second master bedroom. I said it was like a separate apartment attached to the house. It's had a bath, couch, and it's own door out to the pool deck. Ok, since I'm raving so much, why only 4 stars? The answer is that the property did need a little work. There were tiles on the pool deck broken, and a screen torn open on the porch. It's not perfect, but it's close. I wish I could give 4.5!
Kai-Conut was wonderful inside and out! It was ideal for our family of 12, since it had a private swimming pool, private snorkeling beach, 2 kayaks and 2 paddleboards, swimming toys, hammock, games! The exterior was beautifully landscaped and furnished with chairs, tables and gazebo. The interior was beautifully furnished and decorated in comfortable furniture throughout. There were plenty of towels, dishes, and an incredible amount of kitchen appliances and pantry items (check before buying). It truly was a villa! The manager was prompt and attentive and made sure everything went well. Kai-Conut made our family vacation a dream vacation!
Very private and quiet😊 which we loved!! Having both a pool and a beach right out our back door was wonderful for our whole family and our 5yr old grandson. Easy walk to the Yacht Club Grill and restaurant. We would definitely return to KaiConut! (Although some of the beds could be updated😊)
We had a great time. The house was perfect and the location was ideal. The house was equipped with everything we needed. We spent most of our time either in the pool or playing on the beach. If the wind was up and we wanted to snorkel or kayak, we could just walk across the street and the water was perfectly calm on the other side of Starfish Point. At night, we would have dinner either outside, or on the screened in porch, and we could have a few drinks and play in the pool in relative privacy every night. We were surrounded by locals over the Easter weekend, which was all well and fine. They were very friendly and some offered to take us to Stingray City. Had an issue one night when someone broke into the house and took a few items while we were sleeping. One of our guests caught him in the kitchen and he ran off without further incident. Of course, it is a downer if you have to deal with police on your vacation, but this doesn't seem typical of the Cayman Islands and we took it as a one off. The manager, Judy, was very helpful and considerate. Overall it was a great vacation and we will go back.
The first thing you see when you walk through the door is the beautiful patio with swimming pool and the stunning Caribbean ocean just beyond! The house is spacious, the kitchen has updated appliances and every pot, pan and utensil you can think of available. The rooms are nicely decorated (love the island paintings!) and everything is clean, comfortable and in excellent condition! The location is perfect for providing privacy and within walking distance of Starfish Point, Kaibo Beach Club and Rum Point. We all loved our stay and would enjoy coming back! We rented a crib from Empty Suitcases, ordered groceries to be delivered from Cayman Shoppers and Judy Ebanks did an excellent job of coordinating everything for us.
Nice pool that the entire family (ages 6 mo. to 67) really enjoyed every day. BEACH: a line of tree roots and a lot of shells on the beach made it hard for young kids to walk on; the adults had no real problem with it. There is grass growing in the water pretty close to shoreline, which the kids were reluctant to play in. HOUSE: Overall, the house was fine. Had a bit of an issue with temperature control, as thermostats and return air ducts were located in individual bedrooms, so when those doors were closed it affected the temp in other rooms. The three most used doors had problems. The front door and kitchen sliding door both stuck and the door to the pool always slammed loudly. This was minor at first, but became annoying after a few days. The kitchen was well accessorized. We used and appreciated the two kayaks and the SUP, and the Pac n Play. Nice grounds. LOCATION: located at the end of a dead end street, so no traffic to speak of. Public beach right across the street which provided calm water whenever the wind was from our side of the peninsula, a plus. Walking distance to Kaibo Beach resort, which has a very protected cove and beach as well as espresso and croissants in the morning and nice meals and drinks on the beach at lunch and dinner. Good music some evenings. Rum Point is a 5 minute drive and a great place to hang out, with water toys, beach bars, many tables and beach loungers, snorkeling and swimming, and boats to Sting Ray City. Red Sail Watersports provides just about any water activity. The big thing to consider is that this area is a 45 minute drive to town and the good grocery stores, etc. This is either an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on your preference for town/shopping.
I hope I can find the words to describe how wonderful our vacation was at Kai Conut. We were a family of nine - Grandpop and Grandmom , three adult children, and 4 grandchildren, ages 14, 8, 5, and 22 months. First of all, the house was absolutely perfect for our family - large enough for us all to spread out, yet cozy enough to really have together-time. Everything we needed and more was provided - plenty of towels, kayaks, paddleboard, snorkel equipment (although we had our own), sand and pool toys, and a VERY well equipped kitchen. The home and location on a sandy beach were both perfect for small children. The best part was that we were walking distance to Kaibo Beach Bar which we frequented often. Good food and a fun atmosphere. Rum Point is very close, but too long of a walk for the little ones. We did spend a day visiting Seven Mile Beach. When we got back to Kai Conut, we all commented that we were so happy that we were on the north side of the island where everything was more private, quiet and tranquil. I would highly recommend Kai Conut for a fantastic vacation!. The grandkids can't wait to go back, and our daughter posted on FB, Quite possibly the best vacation ever and she has traveled extensively. If you go to GC, I highly recommend Nick's Private Charters for a wonderful morning or afternoon snorkeling and visiting Stingray City. Nick and Noel was so accommodating and made sure we were all having a great time which we surely did. A visit to Cayman Turtle Farm was fun for the kids. Great home in a super location on a beautiful island! You'll love it!
This was absolutely wonderful and a lovely home and area to celebrate an 80th birthday. All 11 of our family were so comfortable whether we were in the outdoor porch, the dining room, living room (sofa will accommodate 7 adults and 4 children!) or in the pool. Not the place to go if you want busyness, shops, etc., but rather quiet and privacy. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. And the sunsets at Starfish Point - not to be missed!! Hope to return sometime.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week at Kai Conut. The house was beautiful, equipped with everything we needed for the week, and the location was spectacular. Since we were in a remote area, we especially appreciated the use of the kayak, paddle board, and sand toys for the kids. Also, the communication from the manager before and during our vacation was very helpful and appreciated.
We have finally unwound from a most pleasurable week long vacation in Kai Conut. We were expecting a beautiful villa, a terrific pool, and a great ocean beach. In a word, we were overwhelmed! Kai Conut exceeded our greatest expectations. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The adults as well as the teenagers (13 and 11) had their every wish fulfilled. The villa was immaculate, and stocked far in excess of what we anticipated. In addition to what we expected in terms of appliances, technology, bedding, towels, kayaks, a boat, swim fins and pool toys, there were tons of spices in the cabinets, coffee and sugar, paper products, etc. etc. Anyone leasing this dwelling in the future should check the cabinets before grocery shopping (although it is a long trip to the nearest super market - Kai Conut is as far away from the hustle and bustle of Grand Cayman as one can get). The remote location was exactly what we were looking for. The proximity to Kaibo Marina (just a short walk - and they have a terrific barbecue on Tuesday), and Rum Point was just right - close enough for easy access, but far enough away to ensure our privacy. We did visit George Town, 7 Mile Beach, Hell, the Blue Iguana sanctuary, and shopped for the required T-shirts and mementos (Rum Point's supply and prices were as good as any on 7 Mile beach), but were very happy that our villa was in Cayman Kai and NOT near 7 Mile Beach. The bravest among used the villa supplied kayaks and kayaked to the stingrays, rented waveruners at Rum Point, and rowed the villa's aluminum boat to check out the luminescent plankton in Finger Cay. The more sedentary sat and enjoyed the breeze and pool at Kai Conut and kept cool. We met the property manager, shortly after our arrival and were very impressed. It was obvious that she takes great care and pride of the villas in her charge. Should you ever need a recommendation for either this villa or your company, I will be happy to provide it. Thank you for a great vacation.
Fantastic property. One of the beat vacations we have had!
Your home is amazing! Absolute serenity, total privacy, and an instant sense of relaxation when we came through the front door. The views are incredible, like a slow motion panorama of paradise!! Quiet morning walks around to Starfish Beach, soft easy snorkeling just off the beach at the house, and cocktails at sunset all contributed to a dream vacation. All in our group from 7 to 70 were entranced by your island refuge. We enthusiastically endorse anyone's idea of renting your amazing house, just don't pick the weeks that we want to come back! The house had everything we needed and the property manager was incredibly friendly and helpful.
We have rented houses all over the Caribbean for more than twenty years. We only rent upscale properties and are very tough critics. In all my years, I have never written a review on a property, but this house and its owner deserve to be recognized. We rented Kaiconut for three weeks in July of 2010. KaiConut is an expansive beachfront house that is maintained in pristine condition. There are two huge master suites on opposite ends of the house that provide excellent privacy when traveling with another couple. There are two other bedrooms and a sleeping den (pull-out queen sofa bed) to accomodate larger parties. Matressses and bedding are uniformly comfortable, though upgraded sheets would be nice. The furnishings are not elaborate, but they are modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There are televisions in alll bedrooms, so the kids do not have to fight about what to watch. I am a serious cook and can vouch for the fact that the kitchen is fully equipped - including most any gadget you could possibly want. There are tons of towels, washcloths, dish towels, etc and they are of good quality. The house is equipped with a bottled water dispenser, so there's no need to buy bottled water at the grocery store. Don't bother lugging your laptop through security - the house has one hard wired into its high speed internet service. The entire house is air conditioned and has lots of ceiling fans - you will be extremely comfortable, even in summer. Outside, there is a screened porch with ceiling fans where you will likely spend lots of time - it is a wonderful, large space where we fed nine comfortably! The pool is spotless and, like the grounds, serviced every week. The pool deck / terrace is huge and has steps down to the beach. If you turn right on the beach you can walk for an hour (dragging along a nine year old who was looking at every sea shell) and end up at Rum Point. The sea floor in front of the house is mostly turtle grass and it provides interesting snorkeling. There are tons fo spiny lobsters and you can easily catch some for dinner - please only take what you are going eat. You'll also see rays, sea stars and perhaps a turtle or two. The house is a five minute walk from Kaibo Restaurant/Bar - excellent food. Don't miss the barbecue on Tuesday evening. You can drive to Rum Point beach in three minutes, or so. KaiCocnut provides comfort, security, privacy, a very quiet setting and a glorious sunset to watch every night. Highly recommended.
Our family stay at Kai Conut was the best vacation ever. The house was very spacious and the 5 bedrooms were totally capable of sleeping the 10 of us. They even provided a crib for our 7 month old. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals and if we didn't want to cook, restaurants were very close by. The property was very private and we had our own pool and beach with a pier. We also had kayaks and snorkel gear at the house to use. We had everything we needed in one place without having to leave the house. Rum Point was very close where you could sign up for snorkel trips, dive trips, and sailing trips. Also jet ski rentals. The family decided before we left Kai Conut that they wanted to come back next year.
We enjoyed our stay. The area where this home is located is very quiet and private. House is also well laid out for multi-family stay.
