My family (3 adults) stayed in this charming home while visiting my adult son who moved to Ashland a little over a year ago. This home was very comfortable and has a darling outdoor front court yard that was just perfect for our visit. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Lois!
The owner is fabulous- very accommodating. My mother is disabled so it was important to have a single story home with a walk in shower. The cottage is very comfortable and suited our needs perfectly!
We have rented here every fall for multiple years, and found it well equipped, comfortable and cozy. It is well situated for walking to shopping, dining and going to the theatre. Very nice layout for two couples who enjoy making breakfast and sharing cocktails in the garden. Another great year!
We thoroughly enjoyed the home - it was well equipped, adorable, quiet and an easy walk to Downtown Ashland. We especially enjoyed the lovely front patio. We hope to book this one again.
This was the third time I have stayed at Central Avenue Cottage, and it was like “coming home”! It is so comfortable and quiet. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else while enjoying Ashland and all it has to offer within walking distance!
Great location, nice neighborhood and very comfortable home.
Cozy and homey, this is our third time staying at Central Avenue Cottage. We love the well-stocked kitchen, the oh-so comfortable beds and the wonderful porch we can relax on at the end of a busy day. We will be back!!
This cozy, well-equipped cottage, is walking distance to the theaters in a quiet residential neighborhood. Everything in it says, “Welcome to Ashland. Enjoy your stay.”
My sister, mom, and I rented this home for an 80th birthday celebration For my mother. The home was very convenient to downtown, my mother who is 80 was able to walk to the restaurant and to Shakespeare from the home. It was just the right size for the three of us. My mom stayed on the king size bed in the back room, my sister on the queen size bed, and I stayed on the pull out couch. The pull out couch with most comfortable that I’ve stayed on. It was very easy to rent and to work with the owner, I would recommend it to anyone, and we plan to go back. Thank you Lois!
Great little house, nicely appointed. Super location. Would definitely stay here again!
Always wonderful...best cottage and best location in Ashland!
What a wonderful property. Our family of 4 (2 adults/2 teens) loved our stay. The house is comfortable, well-maintained, and very convenient to everything you need in Ashland. We will definitely rent again and can't recommend highly enough! Thanks for a great place!
Lois is the perfect owner- always responsive. Cottage is perfect for two couples who enjoy the easy walk to theatres and great places to eat and shop. Wonderful front porch and beautiful small yard. Quiet air conditioning is one of many welcoming touches. Beds very comfortable/plenty of towels. The 4 of us always look forward to returning.
Great spot to walk to the plays and restaurants. Beds were comfortable and kitchen spacious and well stocked.
We had an amazing time walking to town and the theatres. The house was well appointed and very comfortable. The master suite had a comfortable desk. The kitchen was clean and comfortable. We were able to cook dinner every night. We enjoyed the garden for meals and relaxing. The front garden is shaded in the afternoon. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. Can’t wait to revisit.
nicely appointed, charming, sweet front porch to sit on. quiet neighborhood but handy to downtown. owner very friendly. no dishwasher or garbage disposal but who cares?
Wonderful house for four people! Great location - walking distance to theatre, walking trails, and shops. Beautifully decorated inside and a great setting for delightful outdoor meals. Exquisite garden. It's our second stay at Lois' house and we plan to return again. Thanks!
Great location, clean and well appointed
Lois is a wonderful host. The two cottages we shared were perfect for a gathering of five friends. On a quiet street a few minutes walk to all of downtown Ashland.
Wonderful little cottage conveniently located for OSF theater goers or anyone just wanting to spend a little time in one of Southern Oregon's great towns. Lois is a great host.
A comfortable, hospitable place to enjoy Ashland and the Shakespeare' Festival
Beautiful cottage in a great location with a wonderful hostess! Stayed here for years and will continue.
We've stayed at Central Avenue Cottage for many years now because it fits the bill for two couples who want privacy and to be within walking distance of the theaters and restaurants and shopping district. The small kitchen is great for fixing breakfast and light meals. The ambience is charming and the lighting for reading is more than adequate.
Felt like home
Lois's cottage is perfect for two couples. We stayed three nights and found the house immaculate and well stocked. Lovely linens and all the kitchen amenities we needed. The location is ideal for a stroll into downtown Ashland for shopping and a play, but just enough off the beaten path for privacy and serenity. The yard is picture perfect and the porch ideal for relaxing with a cup of tea. If you get the chance to stay here, don't hesitate to book.
I always plan my Ashland visits around the availability of this cottage...it's the perfect house in the perfect quiet neighborhood with the perfect hostess. Ten minute walk to theaters and everything downtown, so you never need to think about parking. Always spotless and very comfortable beds.
Lois, the owner, has provided a fantastic place to stay in Ashland. The location is close enough to walk to all the attractions, the house was equipped with everything you need to cook meals, the furniture was comfortable, and the decorating superb. I felt at home from the moment I stepped in the house. Thanks for the great place!
Perfect cottage shared by two couples for third year which means we love it!! Everything we need and spotless. Location is quiet and easy walk to theatres and shopping. Quiet air conditioning. Wonderful shady front porch for relaxing. Owner is great to deal with and we are already thinking about next year!
Our family (two adults and two teenage daughters came to Ashland for the Shakespeare Festival. The plays run late (11:00 and after) so it was so nice to literally walk home and be at the doorstep within 10 minutes. The place was clean, cozy (with many books to choose from if that is your desire), and the owner couldn't have been more accommodating. Would recommend this for couples, family of 4 (provided the other 2 don't mind sharing a bed). In addition, Ashland did a phenomenal job with their downtown (again 10 minute walk) with fabulous restaurants and boutiquey shops to explore. I ran 5 miles each morning a different direction and felt very safe each time.
This little cottage is perfect. It has everything you need and it's very cutely decorated. The beds and furniture are very comfortable. It is within walking distance to the theaters, restaurants, and shops. What more could you ask for?
Have been to Ashland many times, never rented a home before. This cottage is a perfect location for enjoying Ashland. Close to everything... walking distance to every where in town for Plays, dinning and shopping or going to Lithia Park. As always our summer visits are hot... the cottage was very comfortable inside and outside with wonderful shaded areas to relax. And for being so close to middle of town it was very quite, thus we waited for the deer to walk by every evening. Space was great for two couples, and we enjoyed every day of our stay. Lois is wonderful to work with and we would stay there again any chance we get!
Everything was as advertised. Possible glitch with water supply, second year in a row, was averted by Lois and her handy person figuring out a work around. Bed set up is best for only 4 people, preferably 2 couples. Lovely gardens are a bonus.
My friend and I have been coming to Ashland for a Girls Get-away for a number of years now to enjoy OSF plays, etc., and have stayed at numerous VRBO vacation rental houses. This cottage was perfect in every way for us. We really appreciate that it is one level with no stairs, and how comfortable and convenient everything is! We are already booked for next year!
We love this house and come back year after year!
This is a true gem, perfectly located close to town, with all the comforts of home.
You have a very nice house. It's comfortable, and the rooms are spacious and pleasant. The location is very convenientto town. We enjoyed our stay. Richard Miller
Lois' charming, well-appointed, comfy & immaculate cottage is delightful. Perfect for 2 couples to enjoy Ashland.
Lois welcomed us warmly as our group of four women arrived to spend a few days in Ashland. This cottage is just as described, each room being very comfortable along with an extra space designed as a delightful office room. The artwork on the walls and the views from the cottage enhanced our stay. The gardens are inviting, with a table and chairs in the front yard to sit in the sun as well as a covered porch with comfy furniture. The kitchen was well-appointed and easy to work in, the bathrooms clean and roomy with bold, decorative towels, and the living room was a cozy gathering place for late night conversation. We enjoyed the location as we were able to walk to the theaters and around town. We especially appreciate Lois’ willingness to accommodate our special booking needs. This will be on the top of our list of places to stay in Ashland.
The cottage was perfect for two couples. Location was great for getting to the plays and to dinners. Cottage was very clean and welcoming. We were lucky to meet Lois, who could not have been more charming or helpful.
We loved this cottage! It was Comfortable and with a delightful porch and front garden. Good lighting for reading was appreciated and beds were comfy, And a short walk to the theaters!
The property was well maintained inside and out. Lois was very friendly and accommodated a unique situation for us. There was a plumbing problem with the city water supply that didn't get fixed as quickly as it could have because Lois was off backpacking during part of our stay. She was very apologetic and very generous in compensating us for the inconvenience. We will definitely stay her again.
Very nice two bed/two bath cottage. The bedrooms and bathrooms were great . It has a finely situated location ( walk 6 blocks to downtown,or Shakespearean festival sites) with excellent amenities inside the cottage. The kitchen is well supplied for cooking. The cottage was as advertized. No disappointments. We spent three days there and would do it again. Thanks Lois!
We stayed here for 4 nights with another couple/friends. Clean, well appointed, user friendly and very cozy/cute! Close to everything and on a very quiet street :) We will come back and stay here again!
My mom, my husband and I stayed here for two nights and the house was perfect for us. It is an easy walk from the house to the theatre, dining and shopping. The house is clean, quiet and very cute. We would love to come back to Ashland and stay here again.
The cottage was very comfortable for two couples, and a nice walk to the food co-op, the plays and restaurants. Lois was very responsive during the booking process. Nice place!
We go to the Ashland Shakespeare Festival every year, and the Central Avenue Cottage owned by Lois is our favorite place to stay. Here are our reasons: The house is clean and comfortable, with plenty of room. We have had four people in our group in the house, and it worked out well. If you think you may have more people in your party than might fit comfortably in the house, ask Lois about her small rental cottage in the back. The kitchen is easy to cook in. The house has air conditioning, which works well even on hot days. The house is on a quiet street. There is a covered front porch with comfortable chairs. Sometimes we read there during the day, and often sit there at night, sipping wine and talking about the play we saw that day. The porch is completely private because of the shrubs and trees that line the fence along the street. Lois is a wonderful gardener, and you are surrounded by her nice choice of plants and trees. The house is an easy drive off the main streets to the Ashland Food Co-op, which is an organic food store that has great variety. The house is an easy walk to the Shakespeare theaters. Lois is a great person.
My husband and I have stayed in this perfect cottage and adore it. It was already booked for that weekend so we stayed in Lois' new Alley Cottage. It was as wonderful as the Central Avenue Cottage but on a smaller scale. It felt like home and worked well for three of us. There is one bedroom and an additional futon in the living room. All was lovingly appointed and well supplied. It has a charming private deck that is perfect for post theater discussions and morning coffee. It is great for two and good for more as long as they are comfortable with sleeping in the living room. A precious little jewel. We will return to it whenever we can.
My husband and I visit Ashland annually and discovered Central Avenue Cottage three years ago. We've been back with friends every year since. The cottage, surrounded by a lovely garden, is delightful. It's cozy and comfortable, is situated within easy walking distance of the theaters, has a charming living room with good reading lights and a sun-lit breakfast room. Lois thinks of everything to make our stay there easy and effortless, including a well-stocked library and kitchen. We've already made our reservations for next year.
We are just back from a wonderful 3 night stay at this cute little cottage. It was absolutely perfect for our party of two couples. The proximity to the theatres, downtown and the co-op were so convenient. While the quiet street and beautifully maintained garden gave sitting outside a lovely, secluded feeling. Can't wait for our next visit to Ashland so we can stay here again!!
We loved staying in the cottage. Lois was helpful in sharing special local places especially for hiking and outdoors activities. The walk into town is short and easy. The cottage is clean and well-maintained and stocked with all we needed. The photos were an excellent representation for what to expect. We would recommend this listing to any of our friends or family.
Comfortable, extremely clean cottage that is perfect for two couples. An easy walk to downtown and Shakespeare venues. Well stocked kitchen and lovely gardens. I would recommend this property.
The four of us (two couples) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the small cottage. Not only is it fully furnished, it is beautifully decorated and well-maintained as reflected in the photographs. It's in walking distance to downtown Ashland and the theaters, the Ashland food co-op, restaurants, and shops. We prepared several meals and were all delighted with the accommodations and would recommend the place highly.
We (two couples) enjoyed 5 days in this lovely home. Very, very clean and all we could ask for. Easy walk to plays. Beautiful yard. The owner was very helpful and charming. We will be back!! -Jeff
Central Avenue Cottage is part of Ashland's Historical District. Its friendly neighbors greated us as we walked to the plaza, Farmers' Market, nearby theatres, eateries and Lithia Park. The grounds provide a beautiful environment enhanced by the view of surrounding trees and mountains. Cleanliness, comfort and courtesy are the earmarks of our too short stay in Ashland. The kids loved the Science Museum, white water rafting, and a tour of Jacksonville. We can't wait till next summer to relax, laugh, smell the cedars and greet our new friends again. Staying at the cottage was a wonderful life changing experience for all of us. Thanks, Lois and Anna!
The four of us, in Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, enjoyed the cottage as our home base. It is beautifully restored and set in lovely gardens. The cottage offers all one could want: comfortable furniture and beds, a remarkably well equipped kitchen and pantry, space to be together and apart. We were especially appreciative that it felt like a place someone lived rather than a B&B with all the requisite frills. We wanted for nothing. It is conveniently located on a quiet street within walking distance of all points of interest in Ashland. We look forward to another rendezvous at the Central Avenue Cottage next year.
Lois' cottage is the perfect place to enjoy Ashland. It is charming, comfortable, convenient, well-appointed and immaculate. Loved the beautiful gardens. The comfy porch is the perfect place to hang out.
After more than 20 years of vacationing in Ashland and staying at a wide variety of places, I can say without hesitation that this Central Avenue cottage is by far my favorite place to stay in Ashland. The cottage is perfectly located, beautifully appointed, comfortable and cozy, and very ingeniously renovated. Lois is a wonderful hostess. We can't wait to go back.
This is the most charming, comfortable place I've ever rented! The beds are to die for and the kitchen and bathrooms very well appointed. This is an ideal location for walking to the plays downtown, we LOVED it!!
We frequently visit family in Ashland and have tried a number of different B&Bs and hotels. This cottage is by far our favorite. The location is ideal for walking everywhere and the neighborhood is established and quiet. We loved the comfy master suite with adjoining office area and full bath. The efficient 2BR/2BA floor plan offers both space & privacy for two couples (or in our case, one couple and a single). The outdoor areas are charming and inviting - we enjoyed coffee & the paper every morning on the front porch. The amenities and gracious hostess, Lois, make this a wonderful find.
We visit Ashland frequently and have tried several different B&Bs and hotels, but this charming home is our favorite by far. The location is ideal and the accommodations are very tasteful. The king master bedroom with ensuite bath and adjoining office area is so comfortable and private. The welcoming gardens and outdoor seating offer cozy respite. Every morning we enjoyed coffee and the paper on the front porch. It's a quiet, established neighborhood, within easy walking distance to downtown (theaters, restaurants, galleries, shops) as well as a great dog park and the Bear Creek trail. This is our top choice for future visits.
What a wonderful way to spend time in Ashland. We stayed for a week, walked to the market (coop and farmers'), the plays, restaurants. Lois is a wonderful person to rent from -- easy to reach and conscientious. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We especially appreciated the two bathrooms and air conditioning. Lovely front yard for sitting! Planning next year!
Our family could not have been more pleased with the beautiful facilities provided at the Central Avenue Cottage. We were able to save money and frustration by not renting a car, because this cottage is located within easy walking distance of everything and we could purchase wonderful food at the nearby co-op for healthy meals/snacks. We were close enough to enjoy the dining, theaters and restaurants, but far enough away to have quiet afternoons surrounded by fragrant flowers on the front porch, reading from the well stock library. In the house the younger folks were thrilled to have wifi connectivity... so everybody wins. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.
