ALOHA HATTERAS fronts Askins Creek, overlooks Pamlico Sound, is a 5 minute walk to the beach, and includes membership in the island's most exclusive beachfront pool/spa/fishing pier. It is also 3min drive to the island's best grocery shopping...key to keeping the chef happy! The kitchen-greatroom layout with views and cathedral ceiling is the perfect beach house configuration.
Unrestricted, panoramic views of/over water include fish jumping, birds feeding, colorful Pamlico Sound windsurfers/kiteboarders silently drifting by in the distance, and fantastic sunsets--all narrated to the sound of nature.
Come enjoy this fabulous view and it's relative isolation (...not sitting on your deck staring at your neighbor like a lot of the 'competition'...even a lot of the 'oceanfront' cottages only have a view of the back of dunes...). With the National Park beach a 5-7 minute walk away, the beachside pool a short drive away for a ‘beach scene,’ and the incredible sunset views of Askin’s Creek/Pamlico Sound from the decks and great room, Aloha Hatteras offers a package of incredibly unique settings.
Experience an intimate relationship with the beauty and magic of Hatteras Island, the gem of the outerbanks.
Aloha is Hawaiian for welcome, farewell and love. The owners, whose children grew up in the Hawaiian Islands when stationed there with the military, want you to fall in love with Hatteras Island/the ‘other islands’ of the outer banks. ALOHA HATTERAS is your passport and its deck is truly one of those “close your eyes and think of a favorite, peaceful place” kind of settings; and the view is dynamic with no neighbors in your field of view: watch the Great Egret or Blue Herons feed to the sound of song bird music and fish jumping in the morning, striking sunsets over Pamlico sound in the evening, and undiminished stars from the deck’s 6 person hot tub at night. Forget your car and walk to the beach for that early morning stroll, the midday sun, the evening tides. Windsurfers, kite boarders, and families with small children will love the privacy of the readily available, protected, shallow sandy beaches of Pamlico Sound. For those who prefer a BEACHSIDE POOL or that last shower after that last trip to the beach after checkout, enjoy the owner’s exclusive gold membership at Klub Koru. Fishermen also get free access to Hatteras Island's only fishing pier; (they also rent equipment). Klub Koru also includes access to beachside fitness classes, morning yoga at the beach, beach parking, and spa/salon services. Sports lovers or movie watchers/gamers on that infrequent rainy day will appreciate the 55 inch LCD 1080p TV with surround sound.
Bedrooms on the lower floor with 2 baths: 2 of the bedrooms have fantastic views of unrestricted panoramic views of Askin’s Creek and Pamlico Sound. (We do not provide linens and towels. However, you can rent them nearby.)
Kitchen: well equipped with pots/pans, dishes, glasses, cups, knives/cutting boards, mixer, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, and many more.
The ground level has ample concrete parking, outside shower, charcoal grill, and carport for rainy days.
The 1st floor has four bedrooms and two baths with shaded deck and fantastic views off two bedrooms.
Living room: ALOHA HATTERAS’ large upper level great room with tall cathedral ceilings has unrestricted panoramic views of Askin’s Creek and Pamlico Sound, lots of glass, screened in porch--'postcard' views of Hatteras Island's quiet side.

*Free pass to Avon Fishing Pier included ($12/person/day value)

The Outer Banks and the National Seashore offer a fascinating combination of natural and cultural resources, and provide a wide variety of recreational opportunities:
* The uncrowded, pristine beach (voted best on the coast) is perfect for families.
* Want to explore? Take the free ferry from Hatteras Village to Ocracoke Island, home of the infamous pirate, Blackbeard; also a small arts community
*Visit the Wright Brothers Memorial and Museum and the Dunes at Jockey's Ridge State Park (50 miles north).

* Discover multiple intimate restaurants with the Outer Banks own brand of beach hospitality rarely seen in vacation destinations. Fresh seafood; Avon, alone, has two shops (check out Surf's up)
* Surfers can take advantage of the location central to the Outer Banks hottest surf spots including Hatteras Light House, S-Turns, and Frisco Pier.
* Windsurfers, Kiteboarders, and Kayakers can access the warm, shallow waters of Pamlico Sound. World famous Canadian Hole Haul-over day use area and Kite Point are less than a half mile south.
*the best live music on the island is at Klub Koru on Thursday nites; make reservations

Charlie and Nadine, owners of Aloha Hatteras, were very accommodating to our family and dog. House was nicely decorated and had a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the kayak and hot tub. Deck areas were a great place to enjoy a cup of tea and/or coffee😊
The property was clean and comfortable. We loved the location with the sound views. The sunsets sound side are very nice. After staying there I would probably chose sounds side over ocean side in Avon. The walk to the beach was only 5 minutes and the sound side was so peaceful and beautiful at night. The listing matches the pictures very well. The proximity to the grocery store was very nice as others have noted. The kitchen layout is very functional for lots of people to work in at once. 8 people could fit around the round table in the dining room easily and extra people could spill over to the screened in porch table and the kitchen island if needed. The shower heads were a bit basic. I believe they show in one of the pictures. The overall stay was very nice. I would recommend. Communications about any issues were promptly answered.
Our stay was wonderful. The house was extremely clean and described perfectly in their description. The location was convenient and the deck with the hot tub was terrific. The kitchen was fully equipped for all our cooking needs. The house was a little dated but nothing to really complain about and the pictures are exactly how it looks. The beds were comfortable however the showers whether it be the shower head or actual pressure were not the greatest but extremely clean and again nothing to complain about I am just mentioning it. Overall we had a wonderful time and would rent again. Thank you.
We had a really nice time in this beautiful place. The house was very comfortable with beautiful views, and the bath tub outside was a sure hit, especially at sunset and night. Highly recommend!
Everything about this house was as advertised. Great view of the Sound. Hot tub is fantastic after a day of surf or fishing. Clean and everything is in good shape. We left our salt and pepper for future families though (hint to owners: It’s nice to have a few basics.). Great stay overall
We loved the natural setting. Large decks overlook the creek and Sound with Herons, ducks, Kingfishers. Saw a deer in the backyard. There were really no bugs on our October trip, but the addition of a screened porch is perfect for summer. The location is perfect for both beach and Sound access.
This was our second stay. My husband and I and my father had a wonderful week. The home has a beautiful location overlooking Askins Creek with a view of the sound. In September the area was very quiet. The home had new flooring and some other updates. Everything was very clean and comfortable. It was easy to communicate with the property manager. We can't wait to go back!
Property was as advertised. Beautiful location. Quiet and quaint. Beautiful views of the Pamlico sound and Atlantic. The hot tub was a definite enjoyment. Would’ve loved to have slept in a king size bed, though. However, we enjoyed our stay at Aloha Hatteras.
We had a wonderful time enjoying this property and exploring the outer banks! The back top deck has beautiful views of the sound and sunset and sits in the tree line so you feel like you're in a tree house!
We enjoyed our stay. House was as advertised so no bad experience. The dryer was left a mess from previous tenant and Nadine was great to respond with a new dryer. You can access Askins Creek from the property and we had no issues. We would rent again.
The house was better than description! Very roomy inside and family was able to keep bedroom level cold while I stayed upstairs temp more to my liking. Grandsons used the kayak and we utilized the Koru Village pool too! I loved the spacious kitchen, which made cooking easy. Everyone loved the hot tub in the evening and I enjoyed drinking my coffee on the deck in the morning. We spent one day on Ocracoke which the ferry is free and not very far from the house. The only issue is raccoons getting in the trash. I suggest keeping bags in screened in porch if cans are full. We will definitely come back to Aloha House again. Thanks Nadine for everything.
Nice views of the creek and sound. Beautiful sunsets. Convenient to beach, shopping.
Even though this was our first time in the Outer Banks, we felt like we lucked out by picking this house! Location is unbeatable: walk to the beach, unobstructed views from the deck (where you will spend A LOT of time), very functional house, and I could go on. Worked great for two families and would highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay in this part of the Outer Banks. Avon is a great place, with all the necessary conveniences within 5 minutes. Not much else to do than beach and rest, but I guess that’s why you come here, right?
House was as listed. Walking distance to beach and on an inlet for kayaking. Plenty of space and gorgeous sunsets. Highly recommend!
The house is just as described -- accessible, convenient, and right on Askins Creek (part of Pamlico Sound). Here are a couple notes for future travelers (most of this is also included in Nadine's documentation on the property, so you should read what she provides thoroughly): - There's a washer/dryer in a separate shed under the house. - Almost no consumables in the kitchen are included. Bring your own salt/pepper/oil/coffee filters/soap/dishwasher detergent/etc. - No towels/linens are included. Bring them from home. - Access to Koru Spa is included but everything was closed in June 2020 except for the pool. Understandable because of coronavirus. - There is a kayak and paddles included but you need a very large truck to move it. It would not fit in our Chevy Tahoe with the seats folded down. You cannot walk it to Askins Creek easily because of the mud around the creek. - Hot tub is excellent. We used it a lot. Clean and about 100 degs. - Internet works well but it is still DSL. We got about 18mbps at best. A little tough if you plan to have many people working from the house. - The town is great. Not a ton to do (again, coronavirus) but perfect for a scenic and peaceful trip. Highly recommended house overall!
This home was very clean, comfortable and roomy. The view of the creek and sound were lovely and we spent a lot of time on the deck absorbing the beauty. The neighborhood was quiet in September. The description of the home was accurate. It was easy to feel at home. We are most appreciative of the owners making it available for us to enjoy.
We really enjoyed our stay at the property. It was close to everything, beach is only s few min walk away and the views from the back deck of the house are amazing. Very nice and relaxing to enjoy the hot tub after a long day. If we come back to Avon we will def stay here again.
This is our second stay at ALoha Hatteras in Avon, N.C. We had a great time overall both times. The home was very clean. The views from the back windows are gorgeous. Enjoyed the soothing hot tub on the second floor deck each evening. Sunsets are so fantastic. Owners are super nice, friendly, and helpful. Enjoyed our second stay tremendously.
First time staying here, check in was a breeze! Great location. Plenty of room. Wish it was a little cleaner but they do allow dogs so that could be why. And wish the dock was a better set up!
Views were amazing! House was comfortable & listing was accurate. We love the location & will be back!
OVerall the house was exactly as we thought it would be. The location was great . Previous renter had not put out trash cans early enough and so it did not get emptied for another week. Trash had blown all around the property, they had used the trash can without the lid and it was windy as always. Plenty large enough for us, the views from the deck are great too, Loved staying here. Plan to stay again too.
This house met our needs however it needs some updates and repairs. The top deck is really weathered and in need of repair. Didn’t spend a lot of time outside property because of overgrowth and poor access to the water that only had plywood to stand on near water. Outdoor grill is in poor shape with uneven racks hard to cook on. Although house is a pet friendly home it smelled like it upon entrance not as if it was freshly cleaned. The sunsets from deck was beautiful every evening and house served our purpose.
Our family had a great time at Aloha Hatteras. We watched the sunset from the deck every evening and could catch sunrises on the Atlantic side, when we woke up in time (the beds are comfy). The kitchen had everything we needed and the nearby Food Lion is wonderful! It's just minutes away. You will LOVE this convenience. Loved the large dining room table. We played many board games on it! Overall, it was just what we needed. Lots of time on the ocean and the sound, connecting with family.
This was our second stay at Aloha Hatteras. This home is close to the ocean, shopping, and restaurants, but on a quiet street with a beautiful view of the sunsets. It is not the fanciest or the newest but it is clean and comfortable and we would definitely stay there again. We were anxious about high water on 12 since a major storm had gone through. The owner contacted the tenants who had just checked out and let us know the current conditions. Much appreciated!
With hurricane Florence still battering the coast on the day we were to arrive, Nadine allowed us to substitute our week for the following week. We are so grateful she did this for us, and allow us a full week in this beautiful house with a breathtaking view of the sound side. We were able to catch several rainbows, at different times, that reminded us of the promise God gave all of us after the great flood. The sunsets from the deck were absolutely breathtaking!! The location of the property to nearby restaurant's, grocery stores, shops, and beach accesses could not have been better. We did not spend a lot of time traveling to get to where we wanted to be, instead we were able to spend our time being where we wanted to be. As stated, everything was in the house that we needed to enjoy our stay, cook our meals, clean our clothes, and wash our dishes without spending extra time in doing so. Being able to spend our time relaxing, unwinding, soaking in the hot tub at sunset, and getting a good nights sleep so that we could do it all over again the next day was one of the reasons for picking this location. My wife and I spend our vacations on Hatteras Island every year, and we would be more than pleased if Nadine would allow us to stay in her home from this point on. We have stayed in some beautiful homes, overlooking some beautiful landscape, ocean views, and sound side views but none that was more impressive than the view outside of her home while enjoying our meals, or just relaxing on the back deck. I look forward to the day of our future return!! Bobby & Debbie~
This was our second time at Aloha Hatteras and we enjoyed the house very much. The outside feels like it could use a little maintenance. Several of us got splinters from the outside handrails, for example, and the deck chair inventory was limited with a couple chairs broken. The Koru Club membership is a real plus. All in all we feel that we got our money's worth from our stay.
We had a delightful trip despite the 15 inches of rain that fell during our stay! The hot tub was a saving grace! Would not hesitate to rent again!
The house was spacious and well laid out, perfect for our family and grandchildren. The shower head in the Jack & Jill bathroom is old, had an erratic spray; it's not efficient and should be replaced. But we had a good week and enjoyed the reciprocity with the Beach Klub.
We loved this house! The open kitchen, living room area were great, with views out the sliding doors to the sound. The many decks and the screened outside area were nice. Relaxing in the hot tub during down time was a welcomed rest, the view day or night was beautiful. The house was clean and kitchen well stocked for any cooking. Location was great for groceries and traveling from rodanthe down to hatteras. Rain or sun this house gave us options, it was fun sitting in the hot tub in the rain! I do agree a path and dock would be nice down to the sound, but we were aware of that before we booked. I give this 5 stars it was exactly as described and we would stay again. Thanks ALOHA HATTERAS!
A week-stay vaca in Avon at Aloha Hatteras was simply perfect! Despite the cloudy weather for first three days, we explored and enjoyed the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Enjoyed watching the kite surfers on the sound from this home. Loved the hot tub at night under the stars, kayaking in the creek out front (was a bit challenging, but we managed), preparing meals in the huge kitchen and simply chillin’ in the great room. Tips: remember to bring binoculars, a bath mat (in addition to all linens needed), and go buy a kite! Thank you for sharing your home on VRBO. Oh, one last tip, check out Surfchex site and select the Avon, NC live feed for a lookout span onto ocean and soundsides, this cam is positioned approx. two blocks east of rental.
Aloha Hatteras was even better than we had hoped. We had no trouble getting the kayak into the creek and enjoyed paddling around and watching the wildlife. The walk to the beach is less than 5 minutes and it's a beautiful beach. You can see for miles and there isn't a single house in site. The house is spacious and very clean. Everything is in good condition and the beds are comfortable. As the main cook, I was SO thrilled with the kitchen. We've rented houses where there is barely enough silverware for everyone. Not the case here. There is plenty of everything and it's all nice quality. It was a pleasure to prepare meals. I think our favorite part of the house was the hottub and view from the deck. The sunsets are spectacular! On the first night, after a 13-hour drive, my 8-year-old was watching the sunset and said, We're so blessed. Some people never get to see a sunset like this. :) And he's right. It really is a special place. We were sad to leave and are looking forward to coming back next year.
Water access to the canal; not so good. A raised walkway and small pier would be nice. Location near eateries and FOOD LION is ideal. Will most likely try to come back in late November thanks again, Francis Tyson
Aloha Hatteras was great! Impressed with the fully stocked kitchen, the views from the decks and the furniture and beds were very comfortable. The house was clean and the AC works great as well. The Sunsets from the deck and living room are fantastic. We will be back!! Don and Vicki
In a great location for everything with lots of places to walk including the beach! Very quiet community and beautiful scenery from back deck. The only thing I can offer to anyone staying there is bring bug spray. As with most places with lots of vegetation and water the mosquitos were horrible! But they can can be remedied and I would go back in a heartbeat!
My family loved staying at the house! The large open floor plan and beautiful views from the deck were just a few favorites. We were able to walk to the beach in about 5 minutes!
The house has plenty of space for a large family. The open kitchen layout is great for cooking and spending time together. The view from the upstairs deck is gorgeous, especially during sunset. We did see some cockroaches while we were at the house, but they are not the same as the pesky German cockroaches in the Northeast. They do not lay eggs and come home with you. The owners of the house had an exterminator come out and spray during our stay, which took care of the issue. The outdoor grill does have a few holes in it so you might want to bring your own grill if you plan on doing charcoal grilling.
This house is well-equipped and well-designed, with plenty of space for family gathering or spreading out. We loved owner's own paintings of local vistas. The kitchen had everything we needed. We could walk to the ocean, and if we wanted to drive, public parking was available. We enjoyed access to the Pier and Beach Club provided by the owners. The open and covered decks provided lovely views of the creek and Sound. We were a little disappointed with the quite tricky access to the creek; it looked as though a small dock is under construction, but while we were there this only added another impediment.
We just finished up a great stay at Aloha Hatteras. The house and property are lovely and allowed us to enjoy the area and see everything we hoped to see. The view of Pamlico Sound is great and the tidal creek that's closer is great fun. We saw herons and terns and the coolest jumping fish. A bunch of beautiful small tree frogs had taken up residence just outside the upper door and I saw two enjoying the heat of the hot tub cover at night. The grocery store is very close and it's just a short drive to Buxton and Hatteras Light south. We also very much enjoyed the Koru Klub Gold memberships for everyone and took advantage of the pool and Avon Pier. Just didn't have time for the fitness center. We even got to meet the owner of the Koru properties and pier and that was great. He's doing a great job in Avon and it was nice be able to meet him. The Koru Beach Club also provides kayaks, surf boards, and boogie boards, which my adult sons really enjoyed. My contact with the owners was very good and helpful. All in all, a great place to stay any time of the year.
Convienent beach access/parking at the end of the street. Clean, comfortable and plenty of room for everyone. Would stay again. Thanks for a great vacation.
What a great place to spend a week! Aloha Hatteras was perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious living areas and loved our morning walks on the beach. We would recommend Aloha Hatteras for anyone looking for a nice place in a quiet Outer Banks setting with gorgeous sunset views!
Aloha Hatteras was exactly what we hoped it would be and more! It was very comfortable for 4 adults and 5 children. The sunset views were breathtaking, hot tub was a big hit after a long day on the beach, and the location is central to everything (gas store, grocery store, restaurants). It was also really nice to have access to the Club Koru amenities (we loved the pool and pier!!). We hope to return in the future!
We had a great time at your home. It was very large and everyone had their own space. We used the Kayak in the creek and we took it to the Haulover Day Area and kayaked back to the house. We saw about 8 Skates swim under the Kayak. We walked to the beach only once and the rest of the time we used the Koru Klub beach access. We went to the Luau on Tuesday and it was so much fun. Some days the beach was a little rough for the little ones so we went to the sound or hubby took the little ones to the pool and us girls hit the beach. We fished Canadian hole and caught some red snapper and croakers. We also fished the pier one night and although we didn't catch anything other people hauled in huge fish and a ray as big as a car. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We brought our food from home. the hose downstairs was nice for rinsing off the kayak and even the car after the ferry ride. The mosquitoes were not too bad except for one day so we used our candle which we left there and it worked well. I would stay here again in a heart beat. It was so private and yet access to everything. thanks for a lovely stay.
Aloha Hatteras is a big roomy, well appointed house. Our family of (now) 9 gathered from three corners of the US to spend a week letting down from our stresses and getting away from nearly all. Whether it was walking and shell collecting on the beach, swimming in the Koru pool, fishing, kayaking, bicycling or sampling the various restaurants, each person fully enjoyed his/her stay. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare and cook meals. The owners were accessible and responsive to all of our correspondences and they provided a wealth of helpful information about their house and the area around it. This was all of our 1st visits to the OBX and it was worth the difficulty of traveling there. Brisk breezes kept the biting insects at bay and the decks provided many hours of relaxation. We would happily recommend Aloha Hatteras to other relatives or friends.
Our stay was very relaxing. The view off the back decks provided an enjoyable experience watching up to 25 kite surfers at a time. This bay area is said to be one of the top areas in the nation for kite surfing. The ocean beaches were an easy 5 minute walk to arrive on a beach that seems to go forever. The kitchen was well supplied . The bedrooms were very comfortable. The open floor plan on the main living area could easily handle a full house.
Everything was as advertised. Having the bedrooms on the lower floor helped with relaxation and quiet time. The spacious, open floor plan of the upper floor provided a great space for group activities. The hot tub on the deck proved to be a big hit, with clear views of the stars. Views of the creek and sound were very pretty, and the walk to the beach took about 5 minutes. We enjoyed staying on the southern end of the Outer Banks, where there is less development. The town of Avon provided plenty of restaurants, as well as a nearby Food Lion. Our favorite outings were to Ocracoke Island (free ferry), numerous lighthouses, and Jockeys Ridge State Park. The owners, Charles and Nadine, were very easy to deal with. It is obvious that they are welcoming of human babies and fur babies .We had a wonderful time, and are already planning to return next year.
Great place to stay! Roomy, clean and very comfortable! LOVED all the balconies! Close to the beach, the pier, shopping and restaurants. Hope to return next year! THANKS!!!!!
After 25 yrs. vacationing on the Outer Banks this was the perfect spot. Located in south most Avon, next thing down is the National Seashore. Oceans just a short walk across the road, sound just off the deck. Great kitchen, friendly space. Owners are a pleasure to deal with, too.
This home was very accommodating for a group of 8. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook with. Even on vacation we chose to cook every night! The rooms were a good size as well. The hot tub was a nice bonus to sit in at night and enjoy the sound of the waves. This home is a good location not to far from any location you need to get to. Really close to beach access which was very convenient. We will definitely be booking again for next year!
The house was exactly how described in the detailed description. Upon arrival we were greeted with a clean house and a nice gift bag with some essentials. Kitchen was well stocked, tons of pots and pans, dishes, cups, etc. but i think it would have been nice to have a couple extra mixing bowls and measuring cups. Bedrooms are a decent size, adjoining bathroom between 1 queen room and the room with 2 doubles was a surprise but we worked through it with limited awkward moments or inconvenience of someone forgetting to unlock the door when they were done. The outdoor shower was awesome and in a great location, all adults and kids were able to rinse after a day at the beach. The walk to the beach was convenient, if you weren't carrying too much, but there was a parking lot with vehicle access just about 100ft up from people access point that we used more often, plus i bought an off road beach pass so we drove on to carry everything. As with most of the properties by creeks or low lying water the mosquito's were rough especially while loading and unloading vehicle or sitting on lower deck(even with thermacell, citronella or fan), the upper deck wasn't so bad except when really still, only 1 or 2 nights. The 2 person kayak was nice but the launch area needs a lot of work, we brought kayaks to enjoy the ease of access, but it was not that easy. It would be nice if the path was cut about 3 or 4' wide and maybe some type of decking put down. There were various boards along the trail that was only about a foot wide and it made it more like carrying a kayak on a balance beam. Then once we got to the launch are the decaying silt and vegetation made for a very pungent smell.. All and all good stay.
Fabulous home and view! The kitchen was so well stocked with absolutely everything you would need. Close to grocery shops and great restaurants. The use of the pool and pier was perfect for the kids. Thanks for sharing your home!!
Enjoyed our stay. Steps were steep for me. (age 70) no one else had that problem. Was great view from the upper deck. Very quiet and just a short walk to both sound and ocean
First trip to NC...and what a great experience! The views we woke up to each morning and the sounds of the ocean were magnificent. The home and location were just perfect. Very clean, well-stocked, beautiful views....couldn't ask for more :-) Can't wait to go back and create more family memories at Aloha Hatteras!
Very clean, great sunset views of the sound, close to everything you need, comfortable.
We loved this house. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. View off the deck is good and with the hot tub there also the night under the stars while soaking in the tub is awesome. The landlords are a joy to deal with and the place was spotless on arrival.
I went with my extended family for a Week and we had a wonderful time. The kitchen is well stocked and everything was clean. Even though this is an older property, it was well maintained and in a great location! The membership to the gym and pool was an extra bonus although we did not take advantage of it. My family loved it so much we want to return next year! Thanks to the owners for keeping the costs reasonable!
Our family of 5 and our dog Willow loved the peacefulness of the house. The view from the top deck was wonderful. The Klub Koru membership was great for a day at the pool. Perfect location between the sound and the beach. Owner a pleasure to work with. Only recommendation would be to replace the table in the screened porch. We hoped to eat most dinners out there but the table was not level which allowed only eating on one side. We hope to come back same time next year!
Spent one week in Aloha Hatteras early march 2014. It is a nice, clean and spacious place. All went fine without any problem. The view from balconies on the creek (full of various birds species), and the sound spectacular sunsets, is just awesome. The fact that sleeping area (4 bedrooms) is on a floor, and the open living area on an other was very convenient for people with different sleeping hours, or two couples like us one a kid, the other without. The cottage is well equipped, close to food lion, gas station, ocean side beach in a walking distance. It also looks secluded, while pretty close to many things, and location is central to visit most of the outer banks, from Oregon inlet to Ocracoke one. My girlfriend loved the Yoga and exercise in the Gym. The owner was nicely careful and reactive. Thanks a lot to her. All of us just loved our stay, even if the weather was not collaborating. We will definitely try to make an other longer stay in better days, to take advantage of fishing and kayaking in the area. In few words, very nice place either to relax, or to do various activities.
We rented this house in the off season, and because we have a dog, and had a wonderful stay in Avon. The house is located overlooking the Pamlico sound, and has a shallow marsh canal behind it that you can kayak in. It is a short 2 block walk to the beach and there is a public crosswalk. There are great water views, lots of birds to watch, and if the wind is up, the kiteboarders are too. The house is spacious and has the bedrooms on one floor and a large open family kitchen/dining room/living room area on the top floor. Every floor has a wide deck and great views. This house has some age on the interior, so if you need top of the line everything, this is not your place. But if you want a relaxed beach vacation house that is clean and has everything you need, this is perfect. The owners promptly responded to communications and were very easy to deal with. Overall, a perfect week in Avon.
We had a wonderful time at Aloha Hatteras. It was clean, well equipped with everything we needed for a fantastic vacation. The beach was within walking distance, and the sunsets were amazing from the great room. We hope to rent this wonderful property again.
Great location and you cant beat the price. Sunsets off the back porch were amazing. Close to a couple good restaurants including a really good pizza place which is rare for the beach. That being said, the place needed some updates and a good cleaning. Whoever they have cleaning the place is not doing a good job. The bathrooms were spotless, but the rest of the place was just surface cleaned. The appliances were dirty and the we had to wash every dish before using. The bedspreads were stained and carpet needs to be cleaned. The owners were easy to deal with and answered all questions promptly. Hopefully they can get a new cleaning company. This place can be perfect with just a little attention. We did have a wonderful time.
This house is amazing! Loved the Koru Spa Village Membership. Wonderful neighborhood with walking distance to the beach, walking distance to stores. Great kitchen open concept and all utensils you need.
Great view! Within walking distance to the sound and less than a 5 minute drive to the ocean. Conveniently located near gas station, grocery store and many restaurants. We booked last minute (literally 2 days before we left) and the owners were very prompt with all communication and getting us booked. Would definitely recommend Aloha Hatteras as a vacation rental!
...quiet side of the Cape. Wonderful location for exploring. Great amenities. Kitchen outstandingly outfitted. While not directly on the beach views are very nice. Nice Food Lion store around the corner and fish markets near by. Didn't eat out much by when we did were pleased. Lovely art gallery in Rodanthe not to be missed. Quality work. Communications with owner A1. Easy in and out. Bring your own linens. Steps could be difficult for the elderly. Pet friendly. Thank you for a lovely few days and last minute arrangements.Hope to return soon.
This home is very nice and had everything we needed for our stay. I have many fond memories of our stay but one of my favorites is when my husband and I were on the top deck under a new moon. The stars are stunning! We could see the faint dusting of the milky way stretch out before us. Everything was quiet and peacful in Avon. The house itself is great. Very clean and neat. We really enjoyed having our dogs with us. We didn't want to leave.
Now I know the folks at Aloha Hatteras had no control over the weather, which was perfect, but everything else was just great. Avon is a sleepy village and we like that. An easy walk to the beach bordering the park, we were away from the crowds. We enjoyed the kayak and exploring the bay. We loved watching the birds and sea creatures. We saw a number or sea turtles and stingrays. The house is nicely set up, utilizing all space with an open, airy floorplan. There are lots of porches allowing for great views. Thank you for providing such a lovely place for our family vacation!
The home and property is very nice. Quiet subdivision.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Aloha Hatteras. The home was welcoming and well equipped. The weather could not have been better. We loved being able to make the short trip to the beach to watch the sunrise and then enjoy the gorgeous sunsets from the hot tub on the deck. Thanks for sharing your home. It had been a long time since we had visited the Outer Banks. We will be back soon!!!!! Would happily recommend this property to others. The owner and the realty folks could not have been nicer.
Outstanding location! Avon is down the banks away from the hustle and bustle. Nice dishes and glasses make for great dinners. Good resturants around the area but this full kitchen makes it easy to cook dinner and clean up. The views from the deck in the evening were simply incredible! We made several trips to a local seafood shop for top quality shrimp, tuna, salmon and of course crabs!
This is a great home; we could not have been more pleased. As advertised it is an easy walk to the main beach or an equally easy walk to the quieter beach on the Pamlico Sound. The views from the Great Room and deck are simply amazing. You have the quiet nature of Askin's Creek in the foreground and sunset over the sound in the mid-distance. The colors are breathtaking. The home feels very secluded from the bustle and neighbors, and yet the best grocery shopping within 50miles is right around the corner. The layout of the house is great and it is well outfitted with beautiful dishes, glassware, cookware and 55in flatscreen. Thank you for sharing your home...we will be back!
