Charming 1910 Beach Bungalow

Seattle, Washington

Come stay at our refurbished 1910 Beach Bungalow on Alki Point. It has all the modern amenities and comfort while maintaining its old world charm. Our master bedroom with new queen bed has a attached exercise changing room that can be used as a third bedroom, with a aero bed and linens.
Our bungalow has a unique feature, the second bedroom with a queen bed and T.V. is downstairs. It has it's own seprate entrance along with a bathroom, sitting room and office area.
This is perfect for two couples. Due to limited space there are no bathtubs in either of the bathrooms, showers only. Our bungalow is surrounded by a beautiful flower garden that was featured in the 2003 West Seattle Garden tour. View the garden from the front porch or around back on our custom built deck, where you will find a hot tub, outdoor speakers, teak table and chairs, built in fish pond and lots of afternoon sun. A great place for sunbathing, entertaining or just relaxing with a good book.

Beach combing, birding, kayaking, sunsets, with views of the Olympics and Mount Rainier can be found on the beach three blocks to the south. Three blocks to the north puts you right in the middle of all the action on Alki Beach, with its sandy beach, boardwalk, bike path, restaurants and shops. This is a very popular beach, perfect for people watching, romantic walks, beautiful sunsets and city views.

The bus line is a half a block away from the bungalow where you can take it to downtown Seattle or catch the free shuttle at the bus stop to take you to the Water Taxi. You will enjoy a short ride across Elliot Bay to the Downtown Waterfront where you can easily walk to the Public Market, Stadiums, Pioneer Square, Convention Center, Theaters, and much more.

Return after a full day to our bungalow with all its comforts of home. Hot tub, LED flat screen TV with surround sound, full kitchen, new pillow top queen size beds, and much more, are all here to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Super clean, and cozy Beach Bungalow. Exactly as advertised, and the owners have mastered being available while giving space. The off street parking is a huge plus as well. The location is perfect for those looking for a quiet neighborhood, but within walking distance of the fun of Alki Beach. Take the owners advice and give West Seattle (intersection of California and Alaska) a chance. You may not need (or want) to go anywhere else. Thanks for a perfect getaway...

The property was incredible, clean and felt like home. We had our adult kids and grandkid with us, and this home was perfect for 2 couples. There is a suite downstairs like a small apartment, and the upstairs was functional and comfortable for 4 + baby. The property has a nice deck, hottub and koi pond. Everything is clean and feels like home. It made our stay in Seattle even that much better! We have stayed in other short term properties, and by far this has been the best. Thanks to Pam & Tom for such a great property!

Was able to check in early, hot tub was hot. Beds were comfortable and house was very clean! My only complaint would be there was no way to regulate the heat. The floors are heated and we couldn’t turn the temperature down. Other than that great rental!

Lovely home with plenty of space to accommodate 4 adults each with our own bed. Plenty of linens and fully stocked kitchen allowed us to prepare many meals. Home is two blocks from Alki beach which was a great place for coffee and admiring the views across the water. Thanks to Pam for sharing her home!

The Beach Bungalow was perfect for the four of us (two couples). Beautiful garden; lovely spotless home. A quick drive to Seattle’s downtown attractions and yet far enough away to provide a homey, charming respite. Pam and Tom were super responsive to our inquiries about restaurants, etc. We will definitely return.

Pam & Tom's place is wonderful! The location was perfect for a quick walk to Alki Beach, food, and grabbing an Uber was really easy! We took the water taxi into downtown and used the free shuttle around West Seattle - we had a blast! Pam and Tom were so accommodating to our needs and even let us check out late since we had an evening flight back to Montana. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here, I'm honestly hoping my travels take me back to West Seattle so I can stay again!

I can't say enough about this beach house! First it was spotless, extremely well maintained and was a bigger space overall than we expected for our family of 5. The outdoor space at the property was also much more than we expected and was extremely relaxing after a long day of exploring Seattle. The location is amazing in West Seattle... 4 min walk to the beach with a wonderful variety of restaurants and pubs. We also took advantage of taking the water taxi to downtown Seattle which was extremely convenient and fun! I would highly recommend this rental and also highly recommend Tom and Pam as Hosts. So helpful and well organized.

We took turns every evening! It's a short walk to the beach and incredible boardwalk. The garden in the back is a very peaceful place and feeding the koi every day was fun! was provided in abundance. The only disappointment was that the fireplace in the back yard was not available for use while we were there. Overall an amazing place to stay! We will definitely return!

My husband and I stayed here, along with my parents last weekend. This house is perfect and I wish we could have stayed longer. The gardens are lush, colorful, and well-tended, including a koi pond. The house has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We cooked breakfasts, went out for lunch (Duke's had the most amazing chowder with a beach view), and snacked for dinner. It is close to the beach, grocery stores, and good restaurants. The owners were so sweet and let us check in early after our cruise (texted us when it was cleaned out after the previous guest departed.) Kitchen worked very well for group cooking, with lots of spices, oils and other things you might need so check before you go and purchase if you are just staying a few days. The outdoor patio and back gardens were very enjoyable. Neighbourhood is quiet at night, although our trip ended up coinciding with a local music event which we enjoyed attending. :) Very close to the beach and other amenities are just a short car trip away. West Seattle is a great area and this bungalow is a short walk from the waterfront and local waterside recreation and restaurants, etc. The bungalow itself is fun and quirky - the collection of knick-knacks in the house and the gardens are worth exploring. The kitchen is very well equipped and while the 'extra' food and supplies from previous guests is always going to vary depending on who has been there before you, it is probably worth inspecting the fridge and the cupboards before your first major shopping trip, you'll likely find you do not have to buy as much as you thought. This is not luxury living but it is very very comfortable and felt like a home right way. Overall, I loved staying here!

This homey little house was the perfect place for us to stay in while in West Seattle for our son's wedding. It is the best-equipped vacation rental we have ever stayed in. We and our daughter & fiance all enjoyed the clean, private outdoor hot tub daily during our stay. Alki Beach, great restaurants, and shopping are just minutes away from this quiet neighborhood. Although the house was built in 1910, it has been beautifully remodeled and everything in it is up to date. We will definitely be back.

Truly one of the best vacations of my life! House is beautiful and well stocked, and hot tub works great! From getting up early every day and walking to the beach to spending time in the hot tub after a long day this house has it all! About 2 blocks from the beach and about 15 min from downtown Seattle, not to mention the gorgeous drive to and from downtown. Lots of restraunts nearby and a Safeway nearby to grab groceries. I can’t say enough good things about this place 10/10

My sister and I had a lovely stay at the Beach Bungalow. We enjoyed the proximity to Alki Beach and enjoyed walks to dinner, and the beach. The bungalow was very charming with its gardens, koi pond and eclectic artwork. The bungalow was clean and spotless! The kitchen was well-equipped, and we cooked several meals there. I would have given it 5-stars, except it was a little inconvenient having to use the separate entrance to access the 2nd bedroom and bathroom, and downstairs area. It would have been a great set-up for two separate families or if you wanted space.

Great place to stay in West Seattle!

Over the years we have rented many properties through VRBO/Home/Away and this home was truly one of our favorites. The owners were welcoming and available if needed. The house was inviting, cozy and oh so clean! The spa and koi pond were bonuses to an already positive experience. We stayed in this Beach Bungalow for 9 nights, inviting our grandchildren to some stay for a night here and there and served a couple of meals to their family there so it was great having some extra space. The location was perfect as we could easiry access the beach at different points, plus it was close to all the fun around Alki. We all hope we are able to enjoy this home again in the future. Thank you, Pam and Tom for sharing your lovely home.

We enjoyed this comfortable and attractive bungalow. It was very hard to think of any situations in need of upgrade or repair. The garden adds lots of charm, including a koi pool where we enjoyed feeding them occasionally (they are generally self-sufficient and shouldn't be overfed). I got some of the research and study I needed to get done in the downstairs office, which was very functional. Wifi good, except weak signal in master bedroom. Quirks (or charms): Many, many small, eclectic, interesting decorations and objects on sills, ledges, shelves, etc. However, ample space for storage remains for occupants. Second bedroom/exercise room/closet is great for yoga or other exercise. No bed in it, but an aero-bed is on site for use. Downstairs has a large office/sitting room, nice bathroom, satisfactory bedroom, and first class washer /dryer. If it had a kitchen it would be an independently rentable unit. Kitchen large, sunny, very well stocked. Multiple decks to sit on. Effectively no view to the Sound, although in the right place on the right days you might see sunset or a bit of Olympics. Street parking in front generally available. The carport in the back is functional, but has a learning curve for backing into it from the alleyway -- first time I was one inch away from taking out the koi tank. The location was desirable for us... quiet neighborhood, but we could do about a 1.2 mile walk to Constellation Park promenade, to Alki Point, past the lighthouse, to Alki Beach, stopping at Tully's and 3 blocks back to the house. We did this every morning we were able to. Saw an orca one day. Alas, we are not returning here for our holiday visit, some other lucky souls have reserved this gem!

Will rent this property again when I'm in town. Lovely owners who were so helpful.

After we got settled in we took a short walk down to Alki Beach and decided to get some amazing dinner at Duke's Chowder House. Everything about our stay at the bungalow was fantastic! We had dinner on the patio, enjoyed the hot tub and marveled at the beautiful garden. The place gave us what we needed. We enjoyed our stay. However, there are a lot of rules in this house. But with a lot of rules come higher expectations such a wifi password that should be present, beds that should be made, door handles that are very loose and could fall off and other small items. This was our first experience with Homeaway and maybe this many rules in a house is the norm. If so, I apologize in advance. However, we are the type of people that take someone else's place as serious as we would our own. All the rules made us feel like the owners really did not want people to stay in their home.

This is also one of the only Homeaways I've stayed in that is comfortable and really has everything you could need. We felt so at home the whole time! The only complaint I have is that there really weren't checkout directions so we weren't sure what we needed to do as far as cleaning goes. This awesome “little” house had every extra you could think of from electronics (including stero, wifi and cable TV) to cooking necessities to a hot tub. You can’t tell from the front of the house, but it is actually 2 floors when you access it theough the back (where the main entrance is). The bottom floor looks like a nice one bedroom apartment on it’s own. The wood deck is sweet with the hot tub on the top deck and the garden is just the perfect finishing touch! Pam and Tom put a lot of time and care into this house and it shows. The decor in the house was beautiful and we felt at home right away. Will definitely go back next time we’re in Seattle!

Where to start? This house is amazing and I really appreciate the effort they put in to the inside/outside décor and landscaping. The decking in the back leading from the ground level to the main floor is beautifully done and really sets this home apart from the neighboring homes and other rentals in the area. The owners have continued this effort on the interior. The decorating accessories are unique and many harken to the beach house feel while antique and period furniture fit right in with the Craftsman architecture of the home. The beds were so comfortable and the neighborhood quiet. The kitchen offered all the amenities of home. The living area was comfortable and relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The Hot Tub was a nice bonus, too! The bottom floor living area and bedroom were just as enjoyable. This home also has a washer and dryer which was nice for a long stay. It was approximately 4 miles to Downtown Seattle and a quick drive for us to get to all the sites. You get the benefit of being away from the downtown hustle and bustle but the benefit of a short drive in. Alki beach is walking distance and has an array of restaurants right on the water...you don't have to go in to the city to get great food. I recommend El Chupacabra for tacos and drinks on the beach and Luna Park Café a short distance away for breakfast. The owners notified us ahead of time on how to get in to the home and made it clear they would be available to us, but I had no need to call them in the week we were there. I cannot think of a single thing to complain about here. I feel like they really went the extra mile with their décor inside and out and that coupled with the comfort of the house puts this at the top of the list of VRBO rentals I have stayed in and I would highly encourage anyone considering a visit to Seattle to look in to renting this home.

We stayed here for a long weekend. We have never stayed in Alki Beach before, but knew it was close to Seattle via Uber so we didn't need a car. Our first order of business was groceries which we were able to order from Whole Foods and while we waited we walked to the beach and enjoyed the boardwalk. UberX works well for a car service and they were about $12-14 each way to downtown Seattle and normally had about a 5 minute wait to get a car. You can also use ReachNow if you want to use a BMW or Mini car service as Alki had a number of the cars within a 10 minute walk. Hot meals can also be delivered with Uber Eats if you need a quick meal! The owners were very accommodating and their property was immaculate. Our two children 8 and 3 loved the little koi pond, and we all enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The house had clear instructions for how to operate everything, although we didn't use the TVs or entertainment center and was surprisingly decked out with tasteful decorations and trinkets. It really felt like our home for the 3 days we spent there. We only stayed on the upper level with out kids, so we didn't see much of the lower level since we didn't need the space. I highly recommend the Top Pot coffee and doughnut shop as the staff were super friendly. We walked the beach for a little over an hour every evening and the neighborhood felt safe wherever we ventured. Thanks for the great stay! Hope to be back soon.

The binder with instructions was very helpful to us, since we had never done a vacation rental before & gave good instructions & explanations for all aspects of using the house, TV remotes, etc., as well as local restaurant menus & attractions. Pam and Tom were so easy to work with and made sure to leave us a note about extra blankets and how to warm up the place if needed. Fortunately we had great weather for Seattle, a little rain but warm. Easy directions took us right to the house where once we parked our car we never had to drive until we were ready to head out down the coast to Oregon City. Alki beach is only a short walking distance away where we found a great restaurant for dinner on a patio with a great view. The next day we took the water taxi shuttle bus down 2 miles to board the water taxi boat which took us to the Seattle waterfront. All the locals were so friendly and helpful, we didn't have one bad experience, in fact I can honestly say that Seattle is by far the friendliest towards tourist that I've experienced for a long time! Once again, thanks Tom and Pam we had a great time! P.S. They even took the time and care to contact me when I accidentally left an item. They sent it to my home address and it was there before I even got home from my trip! Wow! Great customer service and wonderful bungalow, I will most definitely be back👍𣐼􎿻

We stayed 5 nights at the Charming 1910 Beach Bungalow. The property is exactly as presented in the VRBO listing. It was immaculate and very nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable, with nice linen. The upstairs bathroom is adorable! The showers had good pressure and there was plenty of hot water. There were lots of towels in the bathrooms; including beach towels for the hot tub. The kitchen was very well appointed and there were many condiments in the fridge. The gardens were beautiful, even in the rain. I enjoyed feeding the fish in the morning. The front porch and the back decks were very nice and the hot tub was perfect. My husband appreciated the office setup in the downstairs unit. The desk area was great and the internet access allowed him to do a little work while on vacation. The location is ideal, offering easy access to downtown and to the West Seattle Junction. I would definitely recommend this property and would happily stay again. It was nice to meet Pam on the front end, she is very warm and charming.

This home is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are small, so storage is limited especially for the fact of so many decorative pieces. We did enjoy our stay. We had a problem with the euro bed staying inflated from night one. Our 5 year old used it late on night one. Mind you he was tired from the long drive so he went to sleep. The next morning the bed had deflated. We tried to inflate daily, we did try to contact help no response. When we left everything was picked up, dishes were done. We got home. I was shocked to receive a call from the owner. We were asked what happened to the euro bed, clueless as we were. We stand by the fact that some prior incident caused a problem. It was not us! He is 5 !! We were asked about some pink stuff on a wash cloth, my daughter & I do not wear anything pink. PINK????? I am glad we left no makeup on the wash clothes. BRING YOUR OWN WASHCLOTHS! We paid a cleaning fee, we assumed the bedding was going to be washed, the floors and bathroom would be washed by the owner. We were rated average for cleanliness, I am a little insulted that place was nice when we left. I guess we were to wash and clean EVERYTHING BEFORE WE LEAVE TO GET AN ACCEPTABLE RATING. So in other words it is a great place, but take pictures of everything you use and how you leave it. It was great until we got home. Also the property is not small child friendly, many levels and no gates.

    Delightful, charming and homey!

Our host, Pam, was available for our questions and left helpful detailed instructions for using the items in the house.

My sister is getting married soon so to celebrate we had a low key girls get away at Pam and Tom's lovely beach bungalow. We had some events planned in downtown Seattle and since most of us were coming from out of state, Pam was generous enough to let us check in a little earlier so that we could drop our things off before heading to Seattle for a downtown food tour. The bungalow fit all 5 of us girls comfortably and was stocked with everything you possibly need. We enjoyed just hanging out in the kitchen or out on the deck when it wasn't raining. A few of us enjoyed the hot tub as well. The grounds were maintained so pristinely and the garden was such a delight. We enjoyed walking outside and even saying hi to the fish in the koi pond. Alki beach was less than a 10 min walk and had plenty of restaurants and shops. We were blessed with pretty great weather and I ran by the beach both days we were there. Everyone in our grouped enjoyed our stay there and recommend it to anyone just wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. We thank Pam and Tom for allowing us to share their lovely home with us.

From the moment we made our reservation, Pam and Tom were very attentive to what our needs would be during our stay and did a great job accommodating our family and making us feel perfectly at home. We had 3 generations of family staying in the house -- my parents appreciated the privacy of the downstairs suite and beautifully landscaped garden, while my kids couldn't get enough of the koi pond and the proximity to the beach and playground. We would definitely be interested in staying again if we are ever back in the area!

My mother and I have stayed in dozens of bungalow/cabin type lodgings over the years. We have always searched for the unusual with a homey feel and have always been lucky. We both agree that this bungalow is our most favorite of all for so many reasons. First of all...I have never had a cleaner, more organized place to stay. Nothing is lacking, should you need it, it's there. There is more charm than you can ever discover....everywhere you look both in the house and the lovely gardens...there is another feature, trinket or keepsake that makes you smile. The location is wonderful, neighborhood is quiet but takes minutes to get out and about to any Seattle location. We stayed ten days and could have stayed forever. We thought it would be a nice place from the pictures, but we had no idea how awesome it would be and what a wonderful stay we would have. Thanks so much Pam and Tom for sharing such a wonderful home with us. Alaine and Evelyne

My family had a wonderful stay at the Beach Bungalow. It was clean, inviting, and beautifully decorated! The bungalow is separated into 2 separate entrances, which was perfect for our family. It allowed for privacy when needed, but also provided a mutual living/dining area that was great for meals and hanging out. The beds were inviting and had amazingly soft sheets. We used the beds, aero beds, and the pack-n-play for our toddler. The entire family fit comfortably and enjoyed the beds. The owners were accommodating and made sure that everything was set up when we got to the bungalow. Our little one was obsessed with the coy pond and wandering around the back yard looking at all of the brilliant landscaping. The decor of the entire bungalow was eclectic, impressive and noteworthy. The bungalow was only a short walk to Alki beach. Although it rained the entire time we were there, we were able to take the short drive to the beach and explore the area. It was exactly as the owners had advertised in their listing. Overall, I would highly recommend this bungalow to anyone who enjoys eclectic style and a comfortable atmosphere. If we return, I would not hesitate to book this fantastic beach bungalow again. Thanks for sharing your gem!

The owner thoughfully made up the sitting room upstairs into a bedroom for my daughter rather than having her sleep downstairs alone. She loved the space, the interesting backyard and especially feeding the fish everyday. The cottage was an easy walk down to Alki Beach, a quick drive to Pike's Market and had everything we needed to be comfortable. Upstairs there is a living room with couch, eat in kitchen, large bathroom, bedroom, and a air mattress area separated from the bedroom by a curtain. Downstairs in another living area with a couch and bed, an office space, laundry room, bathroom, and bedroom. The garden, deck, hot tub areas are fantastic. We didn't want to leave! The decorations are very cute, not cluttered. There are a few staples in the pantry, dishes/cookware, area brochures, and a personal note from the hosts. There's plenty of street parking as well as a carport. I'll definitely be back!!!

We rented this wonderful, charming, and immaculate bungalow in late July and had an absolutely wonderful stay. The home is beautifully furnished, spotless, and well-equipped. Recent updates were done with an eye to detail and quality. Furnishings are very nice and the kitchen is well-stocked. The lay out makes this a perfect home for couples traveling together as the bedrooms are separate and private. The gardens are beautiful and the back decks and hot tub make for a great place to relax. As for location, we're not sure it gets any better -- although super close to downtown Seattle either by car or water taxi, Alki Beach has a great mid-century vibe of its own. This home affords great access to it all -- an easy walk to the beach and restaurants, as well as to the free shuttle to the water taxi. We would come again in again in a "North Carolina minute"! :-)

While in Seattle we went to a Mariner's game, EMP Museum(awesome!) , Chihuly Glass Garden(beautiful), Pikes Market, and found the Freemont Troll, then ate at Paseo's (which was wonderful!), also went through the Public library(amazing!). Perfect location - a couple of blocks away from Alki Beach where we walked along the beach, dined at the diverse restaurants and caught a water taxi to downtown Seattle. Perfect lodging - with 2 separate living/sleeping areas, it provided the ultimate privacy... the attention to details made us feel like we were 'home.' Perfect place for relaxing - in the beautifully decorated cottage or on the deck surrounded by the blooming flowers and the soothing sound of water. This house was quite obviously so much more than a rental home from the moment we called Pam and Tom to see if we could drop off our bags a bit early on arrival. We could not have asked for a better ending to our two weeks in Seattle than the comfort, quiet and relaxation that this gem on Alki offered us. There are so many wonderful little touches here that show just how magical a place Alki (and Seattle) are, and just what the people here are all about. The backyard was our main living space for our (much too brief) time here. From all of the wonderful plants and flowers, to the young Koi and all the fun and funky hand-crafted, artful items in the yard. We found ourselves at a point of relaxation that we haven't experienced in years. I cannot wait to come back to this fantastic, magical place. Pam and Tom...thank you soooo much for the use of your home. I'll be in touch when your next property comes available as weel. ;-)

This charming bungalow was absolutely perfect for our family. We have a 11 yr old, 4 yr old and 2 yr old and they loved this place from the moment we stepped foot. From the amazing flower gardens, fish pond, outdoor fireplace, to the hot tub. We were there visiting my mother so she joined us at the bungalow since her place could not accomidate us. She noticed how the place was full of so much character & uniqueness. I love the location & how easy it was to take the free water taxi shuttle just a few blocks away to catch the water taxi to the city or just take the water taxi shuttle or bus into Alki Beach or just walk to Alki. Lots of fun things to do right in Alki if you don't want to spend all your visit in the city. The only thing we regret is not spending more time enjoying the relaxing cozy bungalow. I suggest it! The city stuff can get very busy & tiring with small children. Such a fabulous place to stay & we will definately be staying there again the next time. You cant beat the great price!!!!! Just now rating our stay at the Beach Bungalow for our July 2012 vacation. The bungalow is quite lovely and had all the features we needed for a comfortable stay. The house, deck and yard are all neat and clean. The key code door entry worked great. My sister and I occupied the upstairs, main area of the house while my niece and her friend used the lower space for relaxing and sleeping. We enjoyed the kitchen/deck area the best and spent most of our time there. The deck looks out the back of the house at the landscaped yard, the parking space and the alley. The parking space is small and accessed via the alley and we had a tough time parking our mid-sized rental car but managed OK by posting guides at the front and back of the car and by moving the trash cans to provide more space to pull in to the property. It was impossible for us to find parking space on the street in front of, or near the house. I enjoyed walking around the residential areas and down to the beach. There are some terrific views from some side streets and some really cool "Seattle beach-style" houses to see. We wanted to cook at the bungalow to save some $$ but discovered that the nearest store (within walking distance) was on the street at the beach and had very little selection at very inflated prices. We highly anticipated the West Seattle Street Fest that happens in July and were very disappointed - not worth the bother. Walking the beach and people-watching is what we did most in West Seattle. I have to admit that there were a few times that we were uneasy about some cars cruising the beach areas and roudy parties at the beach. But there were families with kids mixed in the crowds so we didn't feel unsafe- just a little anxious... The tour of the lighthouse was informative and worth the visit. Overall, a fun trip and a nice stay at the beach bungalow. The bungalow was a good value and I would recommend it to future vacationers to Seattle. Lastly- outside of 2 days, we relied totally (from SeaTac to front door) on public transportation - Sounder train, water taxi, ferry and city bus. Had a little difficulty finding a taxi company servicing West Seattle - not sure what that was about... Anyway, a "thumbs up" for the bungalow! Hope this review helps you decide.

My significant other than I wanted to do a family vacation with 2 teens. We had no idea what to expect. We usually stay at the Hotel 1000 in downtown Seattle. We were nervous about amenities but this house is fabulous! Pam is awesome. They provide you with everything little necessity which I didn't realize would be there. The pictures do not do it justice. The upstairs main focus is the beautiful kitchen, deck, pond, peaceful, just breathtaking!!! The water pressure in the house was great (it's the little things that count) and wonderful dressing room and bedroom. The living area is beautiful but we used the back deck and kitchen more. The downstairs had a utility room with washer/dryer, bedroom with TV, and living room made up just for us for the second teenager by Pam who did I mention is wonderful?. The location is perfect, literally a block and a half from the beach where there are restaurants, coffee bars, etc. I had a BBQ while there with some friends and family...they are thinking of renting it for a week next summer so they can just hang at the beach...they live in Seattle!! That's how great we think this place is. Definitely recommend it 100% for families or a few friends for some activities and quiet time.

This wonderful Alki Beach bungalow was perfect for us to share with another couple. The home is exactly as described in the listing and so clean, very charming. Beautiful garden. So conveniently located, nice quiet neighborhood but not far from the wedding location, good places to eat, and the beach. We had everything we needed in the kitchen too. Owner was helpful in answering questions prior to our stay. We would love to stay here again!

We really appreciated the beautiful front and backyard, the hot tub and sunny decks. The kitchen was light-filled, roomy and well-stocked with cooking utensils and basic condiments. We used the hot tub, the Weber grill and the outdoor fireplace, and appreciated that there was already a bag of charcoal bricquets and kindling available. The only (slight) negative we could find was the rather limited selection of Netflix available and the lack of a DVD player. Other than that, our stay was great!

We have stayed at many places around the world, including 5 star resorts, but NONE have come close to the cleanliness of Pam's bungalow. Their attention to details on ALL levels is impressive...The grounds, the bungalow, the guest book, the kitchen supplies- EVERYTHING. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely space with people! Keep up the amazing job!

This delightful house met our every expectation and beyond. The location was perfect for us, we loved neighborhood and the community of West Seattle with its easy access to the rest of the Seattle area. The home was delightfully decorated, very clean, and had a lovely sense of home away from home. The owners were readily available to help in any way. The hot tub, heated floors, and well-equipped kitchen were especially appreciated. The separate downstairs quarters gave us all a sense of plenty of space. We joined other family members for Thanksgiving but were able to create our special dishes to bring in this wonderful kitchen. Despite the record rainfall, we enjoyed many walks to the strand and ate at two of the wonderful restaurants. We hope to come back in the summer, and enjoy the yard when the sun is shining! We would happily recommend this property to friends and family.

    What a charmer!

We stayed here with our daughter and son-in-law while we were attending a wedding. This place was immaculate. The upstairs and downstairs layout was perfect for two couples. It was like having our own private spaces. The kitchen was well-equipped for everything that we needed. The location was perfect, close to shops and wonderful restaurants, and also near the beach. Do not hesitate to book this house, it was wonderful! We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Bungalow to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary and I have to say it was worth every penny. We were not sure how this whole thing would work out and were a bit nervous considering all the fraud that goes on in the world today. We received the invoice as paid in full and a code to get in the home, but outside of that we had no idea really what to expect other than what the pictures and reviews told us. To our surprise we arrived to find the home well light both inside and out at around 8:30pm. After entering the property we found a handwritten note welcoming us - very comforting. We walked around to get familiar with the property and it didn't take long to realize how accommodating the property was. At first we thought maybe the cleaners forgot a few things as the fridge still had some jars and bottles of condiments left in it and the freezer had some ice cream and bread. However, after we reviewed the notebook which provided the house instructions, it was clear then that the items we found were there by design. We had stopped off at the local Safeway up the road prior to arriving at the property assuming there would be nothing in the home to eat or drink. We picked up several basic items (e.g. butter, bread, milk, coffee, snacks, etc.,) and found that there were plenty of items in the cupboards and pantry downstairs for us to use as we liked. It was apparent that these items had been left by previous guests - I thought this was a cool idea. There was clothes detergent and plenty of soap, shampoo and conditioner even though we had brought our own. Nice touch I thought. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, cookie sheets and small kitchen appliances such as a coffee brewer, juicer, etc. This made cooking our breakfasts in the morning very nice. There was a storm the first night so we didn't get to sit on the patio for coffee, but we certainly enjoyed the spa which is surrounded by a privacy fence on the upper deck. The bed was very comfy and we slept very well. Pillows were a little flat, but other than that all was as described. The home is immaculant and very cozy. Travel to and from the city was easy and there were plenty of wonderful views of the city from Seacrest Park at night. We are very pleased with our stay and will most definetly be back - but with friends and/or family this next time. Thank you for the great memories and for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!

Cleanliness of where we stay is very important to us. We found the Beach Bungalow very clean. Everything was provided for and was very convenient to see the sights of Seattle. Alki beach, 2 minutes away is a great place for dramatic sunsets followed by great food at Phoenecia's. We would certainly stay here again and recommend it.

We absolutely loved this house! The house was spotless, well maintained, well supplied, and full of unique touches. You can tell Pam and Tom take pride in their property. We felt so comfortable! We have two daughters, ages 8 and 12. Pam and Tom offered to set up an aero bed in the changing room off the master bedroom for the girls. They LOVED it! They had plenty of space and were extremely comfortable. We used the downstairs sitting room and bedroom for the girls to play and watch TV and for a little peace and quiet for few work calls that we had make. We all enjoyed sitting on the back deck, looking at the beautiful garden, and the pond! We had fun relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of sightseeing! We loved the Alki Beach area! We walked or drove to the beach almost every day and enjoyed quite a few of the restaurants there. We also took the free shuttle that picks you up down the block from the house to the West Seattle Water Taxi and took the water taxi into Downtown Seattle one night. We also loved how easily we could get to downtown Seattle via car. We would absolutely recommend staying in this home! Every aspect of our trip was perfect, from start to finish, and much of that was due to the experience provided by the owners and all the details they put into making our stay a memorable one! We loved Seattle and particularly the Alki Beach area and would definitely stay in this house again the next time we visit!

It was fun to see something new all the time. Thank you for providing a great home base for our visit.

This property was everything it is claimed to be in the listing. The property was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained and the owners were very generous in providing some additional things like essential grocery items in the cupboards and the fridge. They also provided a high chair for the baby (which is something we have been unable to get anywhere else). We were a little worried when arriving from the airport that it was going to be a bit out of the way, but our fears were groundless. The free shuttle bus to the water taxi that takes you downtown is only a couple of blocks down the road and the service is frequent enough for most travellers. There is a regular bus to the downtown area as well. Local restaurants are plentiful, particularly liked the Phoenicia for great pizza and the Mexican restaurant is top class. Sips Wine Bar in Downtown Seattle was great also and for really good coffee (the way Australians like it) try Caffe Umbria in the Progress Square area. There are lots of beautiful artifacts and objects in this property and if you can't keep small children under control I wouldn't recommend it.

We recently had the privilege to stay here during April 2011 and I have to say that we felt very comfortable. It was as if we were in our own home except Alki Beach was only a few blocks away as well as many parks and the Vashon Ferry was extremely close by. We will definitely stay at this "Beach Bungalow" on our next visit to Seattle and suggest that you do to, you won't regret it.

The inside was charming with all the amenities of home.... if not more. It also has a hot tub, which was great to relax in. There was also plenty of room for all our guest to have a space to themselves. Also, It was a short walk to the heart of Alki beach. Why would you stay in a hotel, when you can get more space - a house! - for the same price. I would definitely rent the house again when I come visit Seattle again.

My family stayed here while our kitchen was being remodeled due to water damage. By the end of our stay, my daughter and I did not want to leave. Just a two block walk from Alki Beach with it's shops and restaurants, this little jewel of a home is cozy and feels secluded from it's neighbors.Amenities include a fabulous jacuzzi, 4 tv's , wood floors, a master bedroom that feels like a classy berth on a yacht, a goldfish pond, and a seperate intrance to the lower level which is great for groups who require a little privacy from each other. The owner's are very helpful and being long time Seattle residents , can answer your questions about all the area has to offer. Also, the bungalow is just 15 minutes drive to downtown Seattle and a 10 minute drive to the Vashon Island ferry.
