This was a beautiful home built in 1880 on a beautiful farm. The neighboring farm has beautiful horses that we enjoyed watching, and this property had some nice relaxing cattle to watch! Mary Lynn and H.D. were very gracious hosts that made sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend if you would like a relaxing stay in a beautiful country setting.
We had an amazing weekend at this beautiful farmhouse. It was so surreal to wake up every morning surrounded by cows right outside your window. The kids absolutely loved exploring the grounds and seeing all the animals. Mary Lynn and HD were fantastic hosts - the house had everything we needed and they even purchased cereals milk and pastries for us ! We enjoyed going to Abingdon for the Virginia Creeper trail and got take out from a number of places in Bristol and Abington. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a wonderful gem that offers a beautiful, restful location, lots of indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and everything you need for a restful vacation.
Place is beautiful. very well managed. Owner is very friendly and helpful.
We had a wonderful time at this charming house. The hosts were most gracious and we enjoyed our stay. We did some hiking on the host's property without needing to drive and rented a pontoon boat on South Holston Lake for an afternoon. We also enjoyed watching the cows in the pasture nearby. Overall, a great trip.
This property was so much fun to stay at. So well decorated with many antique pieces and interesting art work. It was also comfortable with modern amenities. Mary Lynne is a gracious host.
Breathe taking views. Very quiet. They were very accommodating and friendly. Can’t wait to go back.
When we first arrived at this property, I instantly thought “what a dream”. Mrs. Mary Lynn was an amazing host. We felt so comfortable and the home had everything you could need and more. We especially enjoyed the fenced in yard for our little one to play while we sat on the big porch enjoying the land.
The property and house are exactly as advertised and the unanimous five star reviews are highly accurate and justified. Beautiful charming and more than spacious farmhouse with a view of the mountains. We were there to hike the AT. Although about a half hour drive to Damascus, it was a scenic and stress free drive and enhanced the experience. All of the necessary kitchen and household amenities were supplied. We lacked for nothing. Mary Lynn even had an abundance of non essentials which lasted well beyond our stay. Mary Lynn was also extremely available for for any questions. The only negative is that the upstairs water pressure is inadequate for showering. On the other hand, the downstairs shower has great pressure and has more than enough hot water. Bristol is also a nice area to explore with an active downtown with plenty of restaurants and music. We highly recommend this property for anyone who wants to spend a weekend in a beautiful charming house in a beautiful setting.
We loved this quiet and charming house! Mary Lynn left a basket of goodies and a cheese tray upon our arrival. She was very helpful with suggestions of things to do in town. We appreciated the stay !!!
My wife and I were able to sit outside and listen to the quietness, spend time with each other and talk about things of little importance. Our children and grandchildren were able to stop in and spend some time play and enjoying relaxing time with us. It was what we all needed.
The property was perfect for our stay in Bristol. The owners were very friendly and even provided coffee and breakfast food for our first morning. The house is a stunning old farm house that continues to hold its historic charm while providing modern conveniences. Highly recommend this house if you are staying in the Bristol area.
Great property. Very clean. Owner was quick to respond and a gracious host.
We stayed here for the NHRA race in June and it was a perfect location, close to the track and surrounding amenities but just far enough away from all the event and city traffic and noise. The house was amazing and Mary Lynn and HD were perfect hosts, they walked us through all the features, suggested area attractions, directions and had a history report on the historic farmhouse. The house and property was super clean and well-kept and they provided a nice welcome basket with goodies the day we arrived. Marry Lynn provide excellent written instructions on how to operate all appliances, AC units, lights and general house notes to help create a relaxing environment. I would recommend this property to someone looking for a relaxing weekend in the mountains away from the city and hotel scene. The icing on the cake was the view from the top of the hill overlooking the Appalachian Mountains that was simply breathtaking.
This place is a unique and wonderful experience. A beautiful farmhouse on a picturesque property. Thank you Mary Lynn!
What a weekend! We were vacationing for the first time with our “new found” brother that we met for the first time in June! We were coming from 3 different states and wanted to stay in house vs a hotel. I’m so glad I found Willow Branch!! Mary Lynn and DG were the perfect host and hostess! The charm of the 100 year old farm house with all of Mary Lynn’s special touches made us feel right at home! When we arrived a cheese board was on the kitchen table AND a basket filled with bagels, cereal and snacks (and chocolate!!) Mary Lynn showed us around the house and then left us to explore on our own. We “porch sat” the first night and listened to the coyotes off in the distance. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and when we tucked in for the night the beds were super comfortable with lovely linens and beautiful vintage quilts. We road the Creeper Trail the next day, in the rain, and were glad to have a cozy place to go back to rather than a hotel. Saturday evening we hiked part of the way up the old logging road behind the big farmhouse. On Sunday we were sorry to have to leave but we have already decided we will be back next year. Thank you again to the Satterwhite’s for a memorable stay in their lovely farmhouse!!!
My husband and I were looking for a restful getaway after a hectic summer, and we certainly found it in this historic home set in the mountains. The house is immaculately clean and well-kept, as well as beautifully furnished and decorated. The beds are very comfortable. Even though the location is off the main roads and offers privacy, there are many things to do and see in the nearby Bristol/Abingdon area. Adding to the enjoyment of our week was the hospitality of our hosts, Mary Lynn and H.D. They were most gracious and generous to us--we were pleasantly surprised by a gift basket of treats in the kitchen, the abundance of towels on hand, and the well-equipped kitchen complete with fresh flowers. They also provided us with helpful information on sites and activities and restaurants we would enjoy. We hope the future will afford us another opportunity to visit this very special vacation spot.
We were welcomed in such an inviting way and made to feel at home. Each morning sitting on the front porch and watching the sun rise was incredible. The property is so clean and comfortable. It was such a pleasure staying here. Only wish we had more time to relax and enjoy the property. I was in town for the race with customers and we were able to enjoy this property so much more than if we would have stayed in hotels. Mary Lynn went way above and beyond!!!!!!!! An amazing trip with my customers. Highly recommend this wonderful home and will certainly stay again if in the area.
Two couples visiting Bristol for the NASCAR race Aug. 2016. This farmhouse is beautiful, and Mary Lynn and HD go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable! The property is beautiful, and I even got to see lightening bugs for the first time! The home has everything you need. We arrived to find a fruit and cheese platter and then the first morning fresh bagels that Mary Lynn delivered. The beds were comfortable and there is plenty of space to accommodate a large group. We had a wonderful stay and when we return to Bristol we will stay here again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful farmhouse. Four adults were in town for the NASCAR weekend and the house easily accommodated three unrelated individuals with plenty of privacy and just the right amount of togetherness. The house is comfortable and stocked with everything you could possibly need. Mary Lynn and HD were gracious hosts - correctly balancing friendliness and attention with leaving us to go about our business. The grounds are a refreshing change from city/suburban/corporate life - cows, horses, birds, open spaces and beautiful views. Convenient access to the track, Bristol's cute downtown and plenty of great BBQ places. We loved it! My husband and I plan to come back with family and explore hiking areas around the nearby lake.
We had such a great time! Mary was the perfect hostess!!!The grounds are outstanding! We love to hike and there was so much to see! There is a beautiful 2 mile hike to a bluff overlooking the valley! The house was beautiful and clean! The bedrooms were decorated with love and care! We had 7 of us for NASCAR. It fit us perfect. It was great being able to come to a nice quiet, beautiful place after being at NASCAR all day. There is a lake near by that we never even got to. Mary had the most beautiful cheese platter waiting for us. She also had milk and eggs in the refrigerator. The best basket of bagels, bars, cookies, bread, tea's etc. We were suppose only have 6 of us, the 7th person had another place to stay but had ridden out with us. Once he saw the house and the grounds he wouldn't leave!!!Thank you again Mary fro your great hospitality and putting up with us!!!Don't forget to look us up when you come to Cali!
We absolutely loved this rural retreat. Beautiful antique furnishings complement the vintage charm of the house, and a large wrap-around porch is perfect for morning coffee with the singing birds or evening cocktails with the fireflies. We enjoyed peace and quiet, plenty of space, all the comforts of home -- and were just a short drive to boat rental and fishing, downtown Bristol, the NASCAR track, and more. The four bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds, and I think you could easily sleep 8. The kitchen is much better equipped than other rentals we have visited, and Mary Lynn and HD are kind, hospitable, and very knowledgeable about the area. We would absolutely stay here again! Anyone who is traveling to this area and looking for some relaxation and renewal should really look no further. This farmhouse is a truly special place.
This 4 bedroom 1880 house was fantastic! It has everything, great beds, views, farm type setting. 5 min to lake, 10 min to town. The owners, Mary Lynn and HD invited us up for a sunset view from their house 1000 yds away. Mary Lynn provided fresh bagels, popcorn, bananas etc. the relaxed deck to just chill is a 10. We will be back the next time we visit from Texas
