Lake Austin is a part of the Colorado River; it begins below Mansfield Dam and is principally fed by the outflow of Lake Travis. The lake meanders generally from northwest to southeast, with few significant tributaries; the largest are Bull Creek, entering from the north near where Loop 360 spans the lake at the Pennybacker Bridge, and Bee Creek, entering from the west just above Tom Miller Dam, where the lake ends. Its outflow through Tom Miller Dam then becomes the principal inflow for Lady Bird Lake.Lake Austin is maintained as a constant-level lake by releases of water from Lake Travis upstream. The other Highland Lake reservoirs on the Colorado River are Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls, and Lake Travis upstream, and Lady Bird Lake downstream. This property has STR (Short Term Rental) Type 1 License from The City of Austin. Owner-Occupied. (single-family, multifamily or duplex) Owner-occupied, bungalo/garage apartment with seperate entrance type house. Are owner-occupied or associated with an owner-occupied principal residence. This can include the rental of an entire dwelling unit or If only part of the unit, include at a minimum a sleeping room (with shared full bathroom), is limited to a single party of individuals, and the owner or Inn Keeper is generally present during the rental. The first lake on the same site was named Lake McDonald, a reservoir formed by the construction of Austin Dam between 1890 and 1893. In 1900 a heavy rainstorm overwhelmed and destroyed the first Austin Dam, causing extensive flooding. The dam began to be rebuilt in 1915, but repairs were abandoned because of a contract dispute, and the unfinished dam was again destroyed in a heavy storm later that year. In 1938 the Lower Colorado River Authority began building the Tom Miller Dam; the dam was completed and the lake filled in 1939.
Lake Austin has been stocked with several species of fish intended to improve the utility of the reservoir for recreational fishing. Fish present in Lake Austin include largemouth bass, catfish, and sunfish. Lake Austin is one of the Texas Highland Lakes infested with hydrilla, a non-native aquatic plant species. The Lower Colorado River Authority has intentionally lowered the water levels in the lake in the months of January and February so that freezing air temperatures might destroy substantial portions of the hydrilla in the lake each winter. As of March 2014, hydrilla has been completely eliminated from the lake through the stocking of Asian Grass Carp by the City of Austin.
Largemouth bass anglers should concentrate their efforts in and along the edges of weed beds that line the shoreline when available. During the summer months (especially on weekends) pleasure boating activity on this reservoir makes fishing from a boat difficult, if not impossible. Anglers should plan trips early in the morning or at night this time of year. Because of the clear water conditions this can be an excellent night fishing lake for bass. Casting white spinnerbaits and topwaters or pitching jigs with heavy bait casting tackle to the weed beds and boat docks often works well. Other popular artificial lures include plastic worms and jerkbaits. For live-bait fishing try minnows suspended under corks along the weedlines. Sight fishing also works well during the spring spawn which occurs February through April, depending on the weather. Because cold water is released from Lake Travis just upstream, bass will spawn later in the year on the upper end of the lake. Look for them in the backs of major creeks, around marinas and in the numerous boat bays that line the lake. Panfishing can also be good along the edge of the weedlines and woody debris using small tube jigs or crickets on light spinning tackle, or small poppers with a fly rod

This was the perfect spot for us! We had a small elopement ceremony at a nearby venue this weekend and were looking for somewhere for our family and a few of our guests to stay. The kids loved going down to the dock and playing in the backyard and our family hung around all weekend! There was plenty of space for the wedding party to get ready ahead of time and we had a small, catered dinner here after the ceremony too! The house was very clean and had every accommodation you could think of! Tommy was great to us and made sure we had everything we needed for our special weekend! Couldn’t have asked for more!
We had a great stay, place was spacious and very clean, Tommy was very friendly, highly recommend!
We have been vacationing on Lake Austin for 10 years. We enjoying change hence we have rented many homes on this lake. This home is one of our top 3. Fabulous location especially for boating and water sport activities. Although there is no sitting & mingling area on the boat dock the property has a huge backyard from which you can view lake activity. There is ample of space in the home and the outdoor living areas for a small or large number of people without ever feeling crowded . The home is a well appointed lake home. Our adult family of 7 have vacationed at this home now 2 years in a row; it is the perfect setting for our lifestyle of being able to walk to the end of the yard, hop on the boat or jet skis, enjoy our water sports and then relax & mingle in comfort and fine surroundings. Give the house a try, you won't be disappointed.
A group of 12 of us stayed for a weekend to celebrate turning 40. Had everything we needed, beautiful lake views, enjoyed kayaking on the water. And still easy to get to grocery store, restaurants, nail place, etc. Would recommend for a large group or family.
Tommy was great and the property is awesome. It's directly on the lake and has a beautiful view. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The bathrooms are clean and spacious enough, especially the master bath. It is a very open concept and the stained and stamped concrete floors are nice. The fireplace worked great. There are a few items that are out of order, such as the icemaker and the trash compactor, but those problems are remedied because there is ice in the fridge/freezer and plenty of trash cans around the kitchen. I would strongly recommend this place. The drive in has some steep hills, but is plenty safe and actually a beautiful ride.
This large house has a great location on lake Austin.
Property was lovely. Tommy was a great host -- he called several times before our check-in to see if he could offer any help and make sure we had what we needed. During our stay, he was helpful and responsive to requests. For example, our children wanted to play in a blowup pool, and we needed a pump -- Tommy got back to us and let us know where to find an electric pump on the property. Kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, plates, etc... Back yard was fully fenced to keep in kids and dogs. The dock was easy to swim off of. We brought our own floats, but there were some available at the property as well. The home was equipped with items for babies, like a high chair and pack n play. If you have more than one small child, you will probably need to bring additional such supplies. Checkout rules were easy to follow and well-posted. Other items that may be of interest to future guests/our host: -The ice makers did not appear to be working quickly. We had brought our own ice so it wasn't a problem for us, but if you plan on either using a cooler or using a lot of ice for drinks/cocktails, I would suggest not relying on the in-home ice-makers. -The main outdoor grill was out of order for our stay. Tommy had provided a temporary solution with another gas grill. It's size was adequate for us, but might be difficult for larger cooking needs. Ask about this if it's important to your stay. There was a larger smoker available for use, but we did not attempt that. - One of the outdoor fans did not appear to be working. As best I could tell, a bird had built a nest in the light fixture that was preventing it from spinning. This happens to us at our house as well, and just requires a clean out. I imagine this will be taken care of by the time the next guest stays. Overall, our group of five couples and five infants had a wonderful time enjoying the house for a birthday weekend. Thanks Tommy!
My friends and I had a lovely weekend getaway here over Labor Day Weekend! Thanks Tommy
Tommy and his family were great hosts. We enjoyed the house so much. We were impressed with how well-stocked the kitchen was and made almost all of our meals at the house. Tommy was hospitable and friendly, even when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house! His son took us out on the lake and was a great captain. We had such a fun 4th of July at this house and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an awesome Texas lake getaway!
Lovely setting-access to water, kayaks, campfire pit, lawn games, BBQ, all were very nice touches. Beautiful home. Perfect facilities for our family reunion of 15 people (3 children) and Passover celebration. Tommy was very accommodating to our needs and couldn’t have been nicer.
The location is great, closer to Austin than other properties we looked at on the water. My husband brought his kayak and we enjoyed going out on the water. It is very calm. We didn’t find easily accessible hiking trails near by. The property is also close to other stores and restaurants. The house itself looks like the photos. Very well maintained. We had 7 adults and 4 kids- plenty of space. One of the upstairs mattresses sunk in the middle and was not very comfortable for my sister and brother in law. The bunks are in a area just at the top of the stairs and more in a common area than separate bedroom. Fine for our family. More than enough beds including sofa bed and air mattress. Kitchen was well stocked. The pots and pans pretty worn. Overall, we had a great stay! Tommy is very quick to respond to any questions.
Nice house with plenty of room for our group of 12. Tommy was very accommodating and helpful. We had an absolutely wonderful time!
House is gorgeous and has a great view of the Colorado River from the back porch. Plenty of amenities for large gathering. Tommy is very great host and communicative. He is very helpful with getting you ready for your stay. Would recommend to for anyone wanting to stay at Lake Austin.
Tommy is a very gracious host and the house is immaculate - he really takes care of everything so you can enjoy your stay immediately upon check in. The house is absolutely beautiful and the location is perfect! We couldn’t have had a better weekend relaxing and enjoying Lake Travis. I recommend this property to anyone looking for an awesome place on Lake Travis and Tommy is a treat to work with... hope to be back here soon!
We rented Tommy's home for a gathering of friends and family to celebrate birthdays and our "kids" returning to college for another year. We had a wide range of ages, and the house was perfect for everyone's needs. It is beautifully and thoughtfully designed, and in immaculate condition. The photos really don't capture enough how special and unique this property is. Tommy is a sweet and attentive host who greeted us upon arrival and walked us through the house and property. While he lives on the premises, he is discrete but available on a moment's notice (even to drop off emergency coffee one morning when we realized we had forgotten ours). Tommy graciously built a fire in the fire pit one evening, and took our girls on a sunset boat ride. We had a memorable weekend, and I must say that 3 nights wasn't enough to fully enjoy this piece of paradise. The lake is refreshingly cool and a joy to explore. The home's music / guitar theme makes for a fun atmosphere, and you just might convince Tommy to play his guitar. The website is accurate as to description and photos, but you must see it in person to appreciate the full experience. BTW: If you read the prior review regarding the pink flamingo float, it is still tied to the dock and was a fun addition to our dockside entertainment. This "bird-yacht" will hold your entire crew. We loved having the bikes on the front porch to zip off on a neighborhood adventure. We highly recommend renting this home, and you will certainly find a new friend in Tommy.
This property was outstanding for a recent girl's birthday weekend! We had 15 girls sleep comfortably in this wonderful house with a perfect view of the Colorado River! Tommy, the owner, was the perfect host! He was so sweet to welcome myself and my friends and give us a tour of the house upon arrival. He even had flowers there for my birthday! We had a wonderful time - the house is beautifully laid out, with a fun porch and great yard area with seating. Tommy took us on a sunset cruise around the lake the 1st night, and graciously helped us with a huge inflated Flamingo I had brought. He also helped us get great pictures - ask about the Flamingo! We had food catered in both nights, but the kitchen is well equipped to cook on site. I highly recommend this property and working with this owner - 5+ stars, for sure!
Well appointed and perfect for a family of 10 with huge great room, gormet kitchen, large fenced back yard and access to the secret to surving hot Texas weather, 68 degree Lake Austin. We took advantage of the properties boat as Sam, the owners son, taught all how to wake surf. He was a perfect fit for my older kids. It was our first time on Lake Austin and it felt more like the Carolina's for hilly beauty. Yard games, lot's of cooking and swimming in the lake. The property is on an incredibly private road with a handfull of other homes. While part of the Lakeway community, it is miles away from the hustle and bustle. Truly a place to "get away" and be with friends and family.
It was a great house! The lake and area around the house are beautiful. Had a great getaway with college roommates. The highlight was the lakefront bonfire. Tommy and staff were very helpful.
Really great house! Right on the water and a short drive to downtown Austin. Owner was very attentive and easy to deal with.
A great owner to work with and a great house.
Very nice home, we enjoyed our short wknd stay. Thank you
We rented this venue for a family gathering at the last minute. Tommy Cain's commitment to service was clear from our initial interaction via VRBO. The place is beautiful, spacious and clean. Everything was as described online. What wasn't clear was the level of service provided by Tommy. He responded to a couple of minor service calls immediately, and provided service without being intrusive. He was also so kind and interacted so well with our kids. We LOVED this property and will definitely book it again! Take note: the view is spectacular!
Holy cow this property was amazing! The view of Lake Austin was a sight to behold! The wildlife in the area was something we will never forget! Deer and wild turkey in the front yard!!! The neighborhood is quiet and secluded, perfect for morning walks and long stays! We had a small family dinner and could not believe how well stocked the kitchen was with cooking equipment. Everything you would need to cook for 10+ people. The owner(Tommy) was a fantastic host and was able to help us with any questions we had concerning the area or our stay. We can not wait to come back!
We had a wonderful time throughout our stay!! The owner, Tommy was great to communicate with and he made sure our stay went off without a hitch. We had family come in from all parts of the country and everyone had an amazing experience and they all loved the home. 14 of us were very comfortable in the house especially when the 3 downstair bedrooms have their own bathrooms. Would highly recommend staying here, and are already talking about returning in the future!
We attended a wedding at Antebellum Oaks and this property was not just lovely but very convenient to the location. The house was perfect for our family gathering and Tommy was absolutely great and responsive to any questions that we had before and during our stay. We enjoyed our stay and we would recommend it for others.
We had the pleasure of staying here during a very wet Hurricane Harvey. Having such a wonderful house was a definite highlight of the trip. Tommy's hospitality and attention to detail are difference makers! I highly recommend this property.
John was a great host who gave us our space and some good recommendations. The house is in immaculate shape, has everything you need and the swimming down by the river was great.
We managed to book this place last minute and it was a lifesaver. Although I'm not sure how it was available. This place lived up to the high expectations set in the posting--beautiful home with all of the amenities one could need plus a backyard that runs right down to the river. Tommy was communicative, helpful, and genuinely seemed to want us to enjoy ourselves. Recommend.
Beautiful lakefront property!
Great for families..each main bedroom has a bath. Loft would be great for kids. TV's abound with the right programming. Garbage cans everywhere. Well stocked with amenities in the kitchen, towels in the bathroom, linens on the beds..even TP and paper towels..so it was 100% turnkey move in. Clean up instructions and actions were simple and fast. Felt like home. One review worried us: "the landlord is on premises all the time.."; he was there but (a) Tommy was awesome and (b) we never saw him other than one day where he was putting new tires on his smoker so we could use it! Only negative for us...which was in fact detailed on the description..is that there is a boat dock..no beach. The yard does drop into the lake, but Lake Austin's shoreline is abrupt so no wading etc. into the lake. We did have inflatables and floated in the river, but there is a lot of boat activity so we bobbed around a lot. But again...exactly what was specified. Large backyard was great for relaxing in the evenings when the breeze came up. And only 35+ minutes to downtown Austin (ok when there was no traffic). Lots of quality stores were close by..a full scale HEB grocery was a highlight...and Lakeway seems like a nice city. The road leading to the house is steep and lengthy and 2 miles to "the busy road" but a great exercise hill. All in all a great house, Tommy takes great care of his visitors, and it's a great package for a visit.
Tommy is a life saver. We had booked another spot for nearly 2 months in advance and learned days before we were to arrive that there was an error in dates. We needed a place STAT for 13 of us coming in for a wedding from literally all over the world to Lake Travis. Tommy had not planned to rent his place out that weekend. In fact, he had a dinner party planned. he was canceled his own dinner party to allow us to stay with less than 48 hours notice. Tommy, we LOVED your home and we fully intend to make it our new family reunion spot. Thanks again! L and the gang
We spent Memorial Day weekend here. The house was very clean and well maintained. We took the boat out for water sports and the owner's son was the captain. He did a great job and helped several of us wake surf for the first time. The view of the water from the back porch is pretty good minus a few tree branches. It's a bit steep to get down to the boat dock but not a problem for the younger folks. The chef we booked canceled on us a few weeks before the trip, which was disappointing, but not the owner's fault. The house is well suited for a big group, as there are two fridges, two dishwashers, two ice machines, and a table that can seat 10 (as well as a smaller dining room table). The one negative is that the upstairs rooms have one bathroom that is shared, and you have to walk through the bunk bed room to get to the other room. So it's not ideal for people who want their own space. The three downstairs bedrooms all have their own bathrooms.
The house and property worked out great. It's a very nice property (I'd give it a 4 star hotel rating vs a 5 star), great kitchen, good flow, comfortable beds, with an awesome yard. We sat outside and really enjoyed the peacefulness of being by the water. Getting to the dock is challenging if you are older (steep staircase with no railing). However, we grabbed a bottle of wine and a couple of chairs and thoroughly enjoyed the views from the dock. It took us about 35 minutes to get downtown, but it was an easy ride. If you're looking for a family getaway with access to boating, this would be a great option.
Everything about this gorgeous home exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the owner who was friendly and made us feel very welcome. The home was clean and beautifully appointed. There's lots to do nearby while remaining a tranquil retreat. I highly recommend!
Owners were friendly, respectful, answered all of our questions and gave us an excellent tour of the property. This was a perfect location for a family vacation, very clean and well maintained. The kids enjoyed fishing, and we loved the fire pit! Definitely coming back!
This property was massive and amazing. It is right on the water on the shores of Lake Austin. Great outdoor patio and grill area. Would definitely stay here again!
This was the 2nd time here at this property, and we keep coming back, the Cain's are very welcoming and know how to make the stay great for their guests. Clean with everything you need to make this vacation home feel like your own.
Beautiful house and our weekend was absolutely perfect. Thank you Sean and Tommy!
We had a fantastic time at the residence and property. Owner was very gracious, accommodating and informative when we arrived and gave us a tour of the home and property. It was the perfect location for our family retreat and getaway. The kitchen was fantastic to use for the dinners we had planned and there were also tons of places to shop and eat at in the area! We all really LOVED LOVED our stay and would greatly recommend it to others. In fact we're planning our return for later this summer. Can't wait to come back and enjoy the lake with the Family.
Owners greeted us with a full tour and were available if needed for anything. Home was extraordinarily clean. Kitchen was very organized and ours beds all comfy. Tommy and his sons go over the top for their guest. The area has tons of things to do. Shopping, restaurants, golf and much more. Great property and great value!
The owner doesn't mention that he stays on property in the attached garage apartment the whole time you're there. He was creepy, always snooping and we never felt like we had any privacy. There were also cameras on the property including in private areas that he never apprised us of till someone in the group noticed. He would creepily bike or home around the property the whole time we were there. Overall, not worth the price, and feeling of being watched. Would not repeat nor recommend.
We had an awesome time staying in this property! We had a long 60th birthday weekend with friends visiting from Chicago. Our group also included two babies/toddlers. The upstairs worked perfectly to accommodate the two families with babies! The other bedrooms provided privacy and quiet from the early risers! The patio was perfect for sitting outside in the evenings and some of the guests enjoyed games provided by our host. We even had a couple people fish in the lake. The kitchen was perfect for cooking some of our meals and was large enough for several "chefs"! Our host was easy to work with and was very accommodating with our arrival and departure times...overall we LOVED our stay and have recommended it to others!!!
Our family met at the house to celebrate Christmas. The owner met us there to do a walk thru. He said that 2 out of 3 fireplaces did not work. We were really looking forward to sitting outside and enjoying the fire. When we asked him about getting it fixed, he said he would. We never heard from him again. It wouldn't have mattered because when we did sit outside, the outdoor furniture was covered in dog hair and had a distinct dog smell. And, there was dog piles in the yard. On the inside, the owner also told us that the washing machine leaked as well as the fridge. We also found that 1 of the 2 dishwashers did not work. There were lots of lights that were either burnt out or didn't have a bulb in it. And, it is not a true 5 bedroom house. The upstairs has a game room type area with an attached bedroom. The bunkbeds were in this game room. The mattress was so bad that you could feel every bar in the bed. My daughter ended up sleeping on an air mattress. We were also unaware that the owner stayed on premise. He stayed in the garage. We could hear him and his 2 dogs. It sounded at times like there was some sort of construction going on while we were trying to sleep. It was definitely awkward.
Great for our management retreat. Clean, nice and accommodative manager. Highly recommend for any occasion.
We greatly enjoyed staying at 607 River Td for Thanksgiving! We had 11 adults, and 3 babies/toddlers and we had tons of room to engage, relax & play! Tommy was very helpful in setting us up and making sure we had all we needed. We elected to do the boat ride one day and it was awesome! The only note is that there are 4 bedrooms, not 5. The double bunk beds are on a landing so it's not an enclosed bedroom. Other than that, everything was exactly as billed and a great place to stay! Highly recommend!
Tommy was an amazing host, he opened his property up to our group of friends for a long weekend. Everyone was amazed with the home and the river! Tommy went out of his way to our stay perfect! We absolutely recommend staying at this property, you won't be disappointed.
The house was incredible and very well maintained. It felt like brand new yet fully furnished. Tommy was very accommodating to a few small requests and check-out process was painless. My parents and my groomsmen stayed for a couple of days before my wedding. The cell service was not the best but Tommy added our numbers to the cellular booster so we didn't experience any issues. Would recommend this property to anyone.
We had a great weekend on the lake. Enjoyed all the amenities, comfy beds, great chef's kitchen. It was a short stay but the house was what we needed.
The house is clean and well maintained. The kitchen has all the basic appliances. Tommy was very helpful before, during and after our stay. We took our boat and he helped us put the boat in the water and dock it in the back yard. We would stay here again.
Property and lake where great
I celebrated my husband's birthday here with about 12 of our closest friends. The house is gorgeous and spacious. Tommy was extremely helpful and willing to assist with whatever was needed. Also, he provided two air mattresses for our use (the air mattresses were not the cheap kind that deflate, but high quality Serta ones that were quite comfortable). The location is close enough to Lake Travis (less than 15 minutes away) making it really easy to go boating. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!
Our group had an excellent weekend get away at this house on the lake. We spent the majority of our time hanging out in the huge backyard playing cornhole and tossing the football around. The house itself was very comfortable for all of the guests with ample room for everyone. The large kitchen and outdoor grilling area made it easy to prepare large meals for everyone and the outdoor fridge gave us close access to cool beer all the time. We also enjoyed the dock and the Kayaks provided a fun activity for cruising around the quiet corner of the lake. We had our friends bring over their boats for a day out on the water but Tommy offered to captain his own boat for us for a little extra if we wanted. A nice option to have if you want to enjoy more of the lake and don't have a boat. The location was very private and quiet, we had no problems. We would recommend this home to our friends and would love to come stay again sometime.
We stayed at this home for our daughters graduation weekend. Our stay was wonderful...we ended up extending our stay for one additional night. The owner was very accommodating and helpful.
Our family of 10 (5 couples/siblings) stayed here for 2 nights for a family reunion leading up to a wedding in Austin. The host, Tommy, is also the owner and builder, and his home is perfectly designed and set up for guests. We particularly enjoyed the gourmet kitchen, large living areas, outside patio, the boat tour on the river, biking in the neighborhood, and all the thoughtful amenities. Thank you, Tommy.
We had our second stay at this property and it still continues to exceed our expectations! Thank you! And we will be back again!
Our group of 10 met for a Board Meeting of a national non profit. From day one Tommy was helpful and welcoming. He worked hard to accommodate our needs and to be present as we arrived. The home was beautiful, comfortable and a wonderful place to work. We loved the large dining table for dining but for meeting around. We also could have chosen the spacious living room and the great back porch. Having brought many snacks and food for meals, we were pleased to have two refrigerators and plenty of space to put things! One surprise was a tour of Lake Austin on his boat. We had worked hard all day and were a bit drained. The great ride on the lake with his friendly son was a highlight of the stay for us. I highly recommend. By the way, many of the women loved the roads for getting their heart beat working! Penny H.
Beautiful home on the lake. Unfortunately it was a rainy weekend we could not really enjoy all of the amenities. We still had a nice time. There were a few snags with the fireplaces not working and freezer not cold enough. Tommy was great at trying to fix any issues and easy to reach.
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at this house on the river. It was easy to sleep 12 guests and large enough that people weren't constantly bumping into each other. Tommy went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and made his boat available to us. The only think I would change would be a better agreement prior to the rental on what cleaning was necessary at the house at the time of checkout, this lead to some confusion after we had left. Overall, I would definitely recommend the location to any friends headed to the Austin area.
Amazing home and experience!!!
Our group had an amazing time at this home on Lake Austin. The home was very spacious with fantastic extra features. The boat dock worked well with our large pontoon boat. I would recommend this stay to anyone.
This was by far the best house we have rented on Lake Austin/Travis for our annual Memorial Day Weekend getaway! My friends and I were all extremely comfortable - all 12 of us slept comfortably and enjoyed the beautiful house - in particular, we loved the large patio/grill/backyard for hanging out. We loved having our own private boat dock as well, made it very easy to come and go from the house. Everything in the house is new/top of the line, and I really appreciated how clean the house was. Tommy was awesome and met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the house. Thank you again, awesome house!!!
This was the perfect place for our long weekend! The house was marvelous inside and the backyard is perfect for recreational activities (our chef was amazing!.) Not to mention a great boat dock with direct access to the lake. The trip was a huge success and we are grateful to stay at such a spectacular home. Thanks for superior accommodations!
This house could not have been any more perfect for our weekend getaway. Before even entering the house, we were amazed with the property. The owner met us upon arrival and instantly made us feel welcomed. The house itself is absolutely stunning and immaculate. The lay-out of the house paired with the gourmet kitchen was the perfect set-up for our group. We were able to cook and all socialize in the kitchen without ever needing any more space. The back patio and view of the lake was more than we could have asked for – relaxing and private – just for our group to enjoy! The best part was our boat outing. The owner helped arranged this with our very own Captain! We left right from our private dock with the on-site boat. Thanks to Captain Sam for a fun-filled afternoon on Lake Austin. I highly recommend this house for any groups wanting a relaxing weekend getaway. We all would definitely stay here again. Thanks to the owner for the awesome hospitality!
The house was lovely. Tommy was very accessible, friendly, and helpful. The property was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed dinner at The Plate one night, but mostly cooked/grilled at the house. There was plenty of cookware and eating utensils. The beds were comfortable and had plenty of pillows. The two dishwashers were a plus and the master bath was a dream. The yard was huge and very well maintained. We had a great stay. Thank you Tommy!
We had a group of 12 guys down for the weekend and we had at blast at this house. It is in a nice neighborhood and on a great part of the lake. The interior of the house was extremely clean and nicely put together and had enough sleeping space for everyone. The porch and backyard were great and gave us the opportunity to play some back yard games and enjoy the weather. The dock was also a favorite hang out spot, as it gave us a chance to cool off in Lake Austin. We would definitely recommend this place to other and will book it in the future if we go back to Lake Austin!
This had to be one of the most relaxing and enjoyable places to vacation any of us can remember, conducive to relaxed, quality family time! Wonderful place and Tommy and Sean have been super accommodating every step of the way. Kudos to the Cain's for creating such an ideal getaway home. Back to Santa Fe with smiles for all! Gratefully, Ellen, Walter, Christen, Matthew, Alessandra, Jaison, Angela and Sayan
This is a beautiful property in a gorgeous setting. My family, friends, bridesmaids and distant relatives all descended on the house at different times over the weekend and we were able to host them all comfortably and in great style. Perfect for relaxing, plenty of room to be together and apart - an incredible view and expansive back porch from which to enjoy it. Tommy was so helpful and completely accessible. We look forward to returning under quieter circumstances to enjoy the peacefulness and access to the river.
From the interaction with the home owner (Tommy) to the property itself (which sits on the banks of Lake Austin), this home simply exceeded our every expectation. We had a small gathering of family for a (mini) reunion and the property had everything we needed. A true gourmet kitchen, plenty of sitting and gathering space indoors, large bedrooms, first class bathrooms, top of the line electronics (TV's), and wonderful outdoor space, from the back patio (with fireplace and grill) all the way down to the boat dock and lake. The owner even arranged for his son to take us on a boat cruise in the afternoon. WOW! We would absolutely use this property again, and would recommend it to anyone. If we could give SIX STARS we would!
Gorgeous home! We rented this home for Easter weekend. From the moment we walked through the door relaxation took over! The kitchen is amazing - made memories with my girls as we prepared meals and baked. So much room! The view is spectacular - right on the lake and even has a kayak! Home is beautifully maintained- clean and equipped with everything you need! Sad faces when it was time to go home!!!!! If you are looking for a family retreat this home has it all - communication with the owner is excellent. We love this home and give it 5 stars - truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back!
We recently rented this house for a bridesmaid retreat. The weekend went off without a hitch, thanks to the great owner, and his amazing house! You couldn't ask for a nicer home. Everything you need in the rooms, kitchen, etc. It's new, high end, and right on the lake!!! We were able to take advantage of the boat on site. The owner provided a very well trained, professional, accommodating driver. We felt extremely comfortable on the boat ride, and safe enough for our expecting bridesmaids to join. This boat rental was well worth the extra money!! I highly recommend staying here, abd would not hesitate to contact this owner the next time I have a need for a home on the lake!
BEAUTIFUL! Couldn't ask for a better way to spend time with friends and family. Stunning home with breath taking views of the hill country. EXTREMELY PRIVATE!!!! Quiet neighborhood. Everything was so clean. This place passes the white glove test without a doubt!!! Large open kitchen for casual dining with friends or a large dinner party. I LOVED being right on Lake Austin. The location was more exclusive than any hotel we could of stayed at. Very close to lots of great restaurants, bars and shopping and several well stocked large grocery stores if you prefer to do your own cooking. Everything was well maintained and very new. Couldn't of had a better time.
We were in town recently for a wedding and our family stayed at this Lake Austin waterfront estate. It was absolutely perfect! The home is very spacious and the sleeping accommodations were ideal for our large group. And speaking of large . . . the kitchen is fabulous. We enjoyed preparing meals and having the space to enjoy eating all together, whether inside or outside on the very large patio that overlooks the huge backyard and a beautiful view of the lake. I can't say enough about how pleased we were with the whole experience, not to mention how great the owner (Tommy) was with making sure all of our needs were met and showing us so much hospitality. A true gentleman! We will definitely come back when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy swimming in the lake and lounging on the boat dock. Thanks for a memorable weekend!
