Hale Aloha, a private gated oceanfront estate is one of the most secluded beachfront properties on all of Kauai. Located on Aliomanu Bay, this custom beach house offers unobstructed ocean views from most all rooms and the backdrop and grandeur of the Kalalea Mountains is post card perfect. Besides the obvious, location, location, location, Hale Aloha differentiates itself from other beautiful rentals because it was designed, remodeled and decorated for my family. Immediately apparent is the décor, this is not rental décor. The home was decorated by Gail Miller, a well published interior designer known for custom designed furniture with an island feel and the use of neutral colors to highlight the beauty of the outdoor ocean setting.
You will waken to spectacular sunrises and enjoy the benefit of the most central of locations for all Kauai adventures. Be forewarned however because once you settle into this gracious home you may not want to leave.
With your morning coffee in hand, stroll across your lawn to the inviting sand and warmed turquoise waters. It wonât be long before the routine of car, door, office, is replaced by swim, eat, visit with the fish, and watch the stars. Protected from the waves by extensive offshore reefs our very secluded beach provides the safest of locations for the youngest and oldest of swimmers and is perfect for snorkeling year round. Take one of our ocean kayaks across the bay, marvel at the colorful coral formations and visit with the turtles.
Our comfortable, yet elegant home, tells a story and sets a spectacular stage. Impassioned by all that is Hawaii, it was never our desire to trump its setting and so although our homeâs magnificent attention to detail is glamorous it has been sensitively designed to reflect a quieter slower time that retains a sense of the romanticism of old Hawaii. My personal collection of authentic surf art and rare surfboards decorate my home and compliment the easily recognized trademarks of Gail Miller.
Hale Aloha has all the conveniences to allow for gracious living, an fully appointed gourmet kitchen with a full size ice maker, wine cellar, bar sink, and beverage fridge. Enjoy dinner in the formal dining room, an informal brunch in the casual dining area, or go island style on the 75' lanai, where you can also seat 12 for a oceanfront meal.
Enjoy a game of basketball in the driveway or a game of croquet in the back yard. Take a romantic walk at night, revel in the grandeur of the milky-way and rediscover the constellations.
Be pampered by our hardwood floors, sleep in the splendor of our bedding, walk the manicured lawn through tropical landscaping, pick our plumerias and discover the joys watching lilies open and close in the Koi pond. The tranquility of this home is only outdone by the privacy afforded our guests. There are many lovely homes on Kauai, but location, design and quality of amenities make Hale Aloha unique. Come see for yourself. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Come enjoy gracious Hawaiian living with partial central new air-conditioning installed, this lovely newly repainted home can accommodate 12-14 guests.

It was perfect for a family of 13 to celebrate my 90th birthday and Thanksgiving. A large beautiful kitchen made preparing meals a delight. We all enjoyed the beautiful sunrises while having coffee on the patio.
A group of friends & I (totaling 12 adults & 3 small children) stayed at this awesome house from 10/5-10/12/19. I can not say enough about this house. It is so much more than the pictures show. It is comfortable & clean, airy & breezy. It is well stocked & has everything you might need. It is fabulous for children & has games & all kinds of kid toys. It has 2 kayaks, 4 comfortable beach chairs. It is literally a few feet from the well manicured lawn to putting your feet in the ocean. There are 3 hammocks. 7 bedrooms & 7 baths. Great snorkeling right behind the house. It’s in a great central location near both Kapa’a & the north side of the island (Hanalei & Princeville). And lastly, the home manager Jude, is incredible. She is quick to respond to all communication & will literally come out to the house at any time if something is needed. I can’t recommend this house enough & would LOVE to return one day.
The house was beautiful...as advertised. Jude, the property manager was most helpful, available, and accommodating. We hope to come back and stay here again!
Wow. What an amazing property! We felt so at home here and couldn’t have asked for a better space. The weather was not on our side this trip, but it didn’t matter because we felt so comfortable in this home. We had a group of 13 and had plenty of room. We enjoyed the kayaks, snorkel gear, croquet set, and the beach in front of the home. We also loved our experience with the concierge Sonja. She recommended a private chef who made us the most phenomenal dinner. We highly recommend chef janice! Overall, perfect experience and we would definitely return.
My wife and I and our families could not have had a better stay. The home is a magical place and we’ll always remember it fondly.
This house and property was absolutely stunning. Upon arrival we were greeted with a beautiful flower arrangement and a couple of what turned out to be the best tasting pineapple we've ever eaten. From the beginning the communication from Jude was spot on and everything came off without a hitch, from the gate code, security codes, keys, openers, etc. She missed nothing and it certainly got our vacation off to a positive start. The house was beautiful. Every room was done so thoughtfully, the décor making you feel as though you were really in a Hawaiian paradise. The kitchen needs to be recognized as being the heart of the home. The live edge dinning table became a focal point for family to gather throughout the stay. It was a magnificent piece of furniture. There were many pieces in the house that were of this magnitude. The woodwork, trim, paint, furnishings and décor were welcoming and showed the obvious pride taken in making sure the house would be something very special. It did not disappoint. As nice as the house was, the grounds surrounding the property were even better. Stunning and beautiful are certainly appropriate descriptors. From the gorgeous flower beds to the most pristine manicured lawn I have ever seen to the gently swaying palm trees, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that you were truly experiencing paradise. As you stepped thru the back gate and out onto the sand you had to take a breath as you saw the ocean for the first time. The beach was amazing, fine clean sand, no rocks in the immediate area and water that was very clear and calm, perfect for a floaty and a beverage. There was shade when you needed it, plenty of sun and snorkeling everywhere. At low tide the water was almost too shallow to snorkel where the fish were but it was so calm it was not really a problem. We very much enjoyed the 100's of fish we saw. There was plenty to do in our own little paradise. We snorkeled, kayaked, swam, got a tan, played croquet, badminton, barbequed and just really enjoyed ourselves. We found that there wasn't a need to go anywhere if we didn't want to, we had everything right there. So in parting we would like to thank you Jude for everything you did for our family to ensure that our stay was one that we will always remember as one of our best ever. The attention to every detail was really appreciated. The house and grounds were truly 5 star and the trip was a 10 out of 10. Thank you for sharing paradise.
Wow! Where to begin! This was definitely the experience of a lifetime and we hope to repeat it again very soon! As we all sat down to discuss our favorite parts of the trip and what we would want to repeat, the house was number one on the list! The setting was absolutely beautiful, the beach and views are awesome! Sometimes it was hard to leave the home to go see the rest of the island! There were so many details that were thought through and provided. The toiletry items, the very well-stocked kitchen, the outdoor toys, and even the water bucket to wash off our feet! We appreciate how well stock the home was with all of the consumable products. The welcome packet and all the information for every detail was precise and easy to find. The renovated plantation home was fresh, clean and had a welcoming feeling about it the minute we drove into the driveway. Complete with plumeria flowers from trees above dusting the walk way! And of course, your pineapple is out of this world! We look forward to our next experience on your beautiful Island! Thank you.
This is truly the most amazing space to nourish your soul. Beautiful house and gardens, steps from the beach, and a wonderful manager who has the most delicious pineapples ever! We will always try to stay here when we are on the island! Thank you so much!
Loved the location, space, privacy, and made time with kids and grandkids pure joy! Out the front gate, feet on the sand, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, and very low traffic. Perfect for all our young grandchildren and my sons, son in law, and I to enjoy the ‘big kid’ fun as well. Secure yard felt safe for us all, and space to play, the plantation style feel was homey and had spaces well suited for sleeping, playing games, and the huge kitchen and setee area allowed team cooking and lots of family interaction at mealtimes. House equipped with kids toys, games, and lots of yard games, and water sports. Judith was great to work with and we highly recommend this property!
Another memorable stay in paradise! Absolutely perfect place to vacation with a large group or family. Jude (manager) is incredible and every detail is well thought out. Can’t wait to return!
This house is amazing. We had a family of 10 adults and 2 children. There was plenty of space for everyone. This house is right on the beach and the views are incredible. We snorkeled and played on the beach just steps from the back yard. Judith greeted us upon arrival and was wonderfully responsive to all our questions. She even brought us some white pineapple from her farm. It was amazing and now we cannot eat regular pineapples. Thank you for allowing us to stay in this beautiful home. Aloha.
I cannot say enough positive about this home! From the minute we drove onto the driveway we felt the warm welcoming feeling, and saw all the beauty before us! The home is a very nice, charming, Plantation home that is completely updated with all the modern conveniences. The home was very well-stocked with consumable products. There was not a single detail missing. The concierge service was invaluable to the success of our vacation. The welcome packet from Jude was full of all kinds of details, cultural navigation tips, and just general information. Details about the home. The three bedrooms on the balcony that open up to breathtaking sunrise views are spacious, well stocked with beautiful linens, and I'll share the same balcony with hammocks and a lounge. we spent much of our time in this part of the house! The master bath upstairs has views of the ocean, a large soaking tub, and a walk-in shower. The chef's kitchen is spacious, very well organized, well-stocked, had everything we needed! The very large deck in the back was well-used! A large dining table, sitting area, and chaise lounges. all hard floors throughout helps keep everything very clean. Every area and item was well maintained. in fact, the home was so amazing, we often had a hard time leaving the beauty of the home to go see the rest of the fabulous Island! But don't worry, there's so much to see and do within just a few minutes of the home it made the vacation very simple and memorable. Working with Jude was a breeze! she really worked hard to make sure we didn't have to do anything unnecessary. The check-out procedures were simple, as with a check in procedures. there is not a single thing I can possibly think of that would make this home a better situation. Every detail was thought of. And Jude as well as a concierge we're able to reply to us very quickly when we had any question or concern of any sort. We will absolutely be staying at this location again in the future!
We gave this trip to our family as a Christmas present. There were fourteen of us ranging in age from 3 years to 69 years old. From the moment we arrived, we were thrilled with the property. The rooms were spacious and lovely. The bedding and all amenities were high end. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook, dine, and drink. The outdoor space was well maintained and we made good use of the kayaks, snorkeling equipment, and boogie boards. There is a large selection of aqua shoes to which we added those that we had brought with us. There are three beautiful hammocks - one on the back lawn and two on the upper balcony of the house. We took turns enjoying the ocean breeze and listening to the sound of the surf from these various spots. Two of our family members stayed in the cottage and they were very pleased with their accommodations. The cottage is done in the same high quality as the main house. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The bathrooms are furnished with a full compliment of towels, large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash as well as blow dryers. We were delighted to meet Jude Huber and hear some details of the history of the house and the area. Jude was very helpful and professional in all of our interactions with her - both before our trip and during our trip. We appreciated the connection she provided to the concierge services of Sonja Keala. Sonja made arrangements for us to take a whale watching excursion, attend a luau, and put us in touch with a great babysitting service which we used one evening. Sonja also recommended the gold seating for the luau and the train ride. Both of those recommendations enhanced our luau experience. Our entire experience was magical and we will be returning to Hale Aloha!
This house on the water in Anahola, Hawaii is absolutely beautiful. We had a small gathering of family and friends there for my daughter’s wedding and vacation. Everyone was in awe how beautiful the view was as we had our ceremony and reception in the backyard lawn area overlooking the ocean. The beds were comfy, the house was warm and inviting, beautifully decorated.. Jude, the property manager, was very helpful with planning our wedding. She recommended a phenomenal photographer, Keith Ketchum. Thank you Jude for everything! We couldn’t have picked a better venue to have a wedding or place to vacation. We will be back to stay again at this gorgeous home. Mahalo!
Words really don’t do it justice. A very, very special place.
My review will be from a different perspective on this beautiful home. We rented this home for our 50th wedding anniversary and vow renewal on the beach; it has a semi private beach. There were 8 of us – 4 generations ranging from 92 – 7 years old. It was my complete family there to be a part of this 50-year anniversary. We had the misfortune to have rented it the week that Hurricane Lane made its approach to the Hawaiian Islands, a terrible uninvited guest. We had a beautiful 2 days to enjoy the wonderful beach right behind the house – we were even blessed to see 2 Manta rays frolicking 2 feet from the beach for about 20 minutes, long enough to take some great pictures and a video. Tuesday we received the terrible news that Hurricane Lane (category 5) was approaching from the South. Jude, the manager texted me she was coming over to go over hurricane preparations and answer any questions that we had. She brought over plenty of bottled water, battery lights, & extra batteries. She really cares for her renter’s safety and well being. She also explained to us what a well built house this was and that it had withstood the wrath of Hurricane Iniki in 1992. The ocean breaker about 500 yards behind the home helps to lessen the huge waves that accompany a hurricane. The hurricane was downgraded Thursday to a category 3 and would later be downgraded to a tropical storm as it continued to turn southward. I will not lie to you – it was a very scary time and we spent much of the time watching the news and playing croquet in the back yard. Because of Hurricane Lane, the ocean was to choppy and the wind to windy the last 5 days to snorkel or kayak like we wanted to, but there was plenty of other activities to do there. We enjoyed watching the Anole lizards in the front yard and the geckos in the evening. My mother loved walking the front yard because of all the beautiful flowers. Friday we ended up having our 50-year vow renewal ceremony in the beautiful living room because of the rain, wind and humidity. The living room was beautiful and spacious enough for our family plus 7 of our nieces and nephews that had rented a house down the beach from us. After the vow renewal the rain quit and a beautiful rainbow came out long enough for us to take family photos in the beautiful back yard. The house is beautiful, well built, with a caring nice manager - the only improvement I would recommend would be screens on the windows upstairs. Thank you Judith Huber
This lovely home is located on the ocean. All 10 members of my family had a wonderful stay. There is a fully equipped kitchen and lovely dining area. Easy access to the beach, gentle water for children and good snorkeling right in front of the house! This was the perfect home for a family celebration. The house manager was very responsive to our questions asked. This property is five star!
A beautiful home, well appointed, finely maintained and impeccably decorated. Perfect landing pad for our family holiday in paradise. If only the weather would have cooperated, the week would have been perfect. Thankfully Hale Aloha made the experience wonderful. Never tire of looking from the lanai through the two palm trees at the pacific. Super ono.
Staying at this house for my family reunion/vow renewal was the best decision we made when planning our Kauai vacation. First, the house/estate was BEAUTIFUL! Tropical flowers, perfectly manicured landscaping, a huge yard on the private beach, Hawaiian decoration, clean, VERY private location, etc. The kitchen was perfect for our large family meals every night. The backyard was perfect for my young nieces to run around and everyone else to enjoy the croquet set. We also enjoyed the kayak, the snorkeling gear, the toys for the kids, etc (the list goes one). The lanai made for the perfect brunch setting too. You can tell that every single detail of that house was carefully thought out. It's set up to be large enough for every couple to have their own space and bathroom, but allowed for enough open shared areas to still feel close and bond on our family vacation. Finally, Jude was a delight. Very professional but laid back and VERY accomadating. She ensured we had everything we needed, was very responsive to any questions I had, and even brought over dessert pineapples from her own plantation (best pineapple I’ve ever had). My only regret was not staying long enough. We hope to return someday. Thank you Jude!
This is a beautiful property and was perfect for our group of ten. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to start cooking (minus groceries), the pillows and beds are comfortable, plenty of bathrooms for everyone. The upstairs sunrise view is breathtaking. Plenty of seating inside and out, the homeowner has thought of everything! We had a fabulous time and would recommend this house to everyone going to Kauai.
The house was very comfortable, beautifully decorated, with room for all 14 of us (ages 1-78) to be together or to spread out. Having the beach right in front provided hours of play in the sand and in the shallow water. For surfing adventures, we went to Hanalei. The sunrises from the lanai were spectacular. Thank you, Jude, for responding promptly when we needed help. We hope to return some day!
The perfect property for our large group of 15. Everything you could ask for was provided. Jude was an awesome host, we can’t wait to come back!
The house was stunning and we loved the big yard in the front. Jude was super responsive and nice to communicate with. It’s a super family friendly place. We united 2 families from 2 different countries and the house was a great size for us all. They even had pack and plays for our baby. We really appreciate Jude as well.
We've been to Kauai on several trips over the years but this was our first time staying in Anahola and at this property. Jude, the property manager, was incredibly responsive and accommodating. If you have any questions or concerns, you will get them answered and will feel taken care of. The house was absolutely beautiful and more than accommodated our relatively small party of 7. The Hawaiian decor of the home makes for a nice touch, with authentic surfboards on the walls and interesting historic surf art strewn throughout. The beach out front is quite and we swam and kayaked almost every day. The property has enough outdoor space for children to play and we made great use of the backyard. The house was well stocked (towels, linens, kitchen supplies, etc) as well as the outdoor toys (2 Kayaks, snorkel gear, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc). I have nothing but great things to say about this home and the service. If there was a 6 star option above, I would have selected it. Thanks for everything. We hope to come back again real soon.
We just had the most incredible week at this beautiful home on Anahola Beach! Jude is a wonderful and super responsive property manager. We had 7 adults and had a ton of room to cook together as well as take multiple dips per day in the ocean. The snorkeling right in front of the house is fun and in calm waters, great for kids or older folks who are just getting used to the ocean. They also have two kayaks for use and plenty of beach gear as well as croquette and three hammocks. Beautiful linens, comfy beds, and nice organic bath supplies. Most impressive is that the house is so clean and free of bugs compared to any other house we've ever been to on Hawaii. The pictures don't even capture how magical this place is. We had a spectacular vacation and will definitely be back! Another bonus, this is a great spot on the island for convenience and exploring as it's just 30 minutes from the airport and about 30 minutes from Hanalei. We drove to Waimea Canyon in about 1.5 hours and NaPali in 45 minutes, mini golf is 15 minutes away. It's very convenient to get to grocery shopping in Kapa'a and Lihue.
What a great experience this was! The owner was helpful and responsive and a real pleasure to work with from the start. Also, I can tell you that the pictures of the property don't even do it justice. The house has so much room and everything feels comfortable and airy and impeccably maintained. Also, the reef off the private beach provides incredible snorkeling opportunities. What made this even more special for us was that we were fortunate enough to be able to get married at this amazing property while we were here. We couldn't have imagined a more beautiful backdrop for our wedding than walking out across this beautiful lawn overlooking the ocean, as the sun set in the distance! Having stayed in numerous properties in Kauai over the years, I can tell you this is definitely a rare gem. If you have the opportunity to stay here, you won't be disappointed!
The house was beautiful and in excellent condition. Plenty of room both inside and out for 9 people to enjoy themselves and be together or apart. A nice sandy beach with smaller waves was a few steps away which was great for the 5 year old. If there was an issue Jude was 10 minutes away to resolve it. We would definitely return if I can get everyone together again at the same time.
Such a beautiful home.... paradise. We spent the week here with 12 of us altogether, celebrating our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. From the moment we came on the property, there were pretty little touches... like decorative flowers set up for us in a welcoming manner. Superseded our expectations. Had everything we needed and more! Of note, only a few of the bedrooms had AC, but the winds are so strong that we really did not miss it. Jude was on top of everything, even when very minor issues came up. Also, Sonya, the concierge was spectacular in recommending wonderful excursions. We will definitely be back!!
My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in this wonderful, welcoming, home with our four children and their spouses or significant others. So there were ten of us and we were all able to enjoy a magical vacation. The indoor and outdoor spaces were generous and comfortable, and the fact that at the end of the front lawn was a little gate that opened onto our "own" beach meant we could easily head down for a quick swim or take out the kayaks at any time of the day. The home felt secluded and peaceful but at the same time it was convenient to exploring many different destinations. The house manager, Jude, was so thoughtful and very responsive to our questions and needs but also respectful of our privacy. It was a very special holiday for our family. Thank you! Hope we can come again....
Our 4 generational family of 15, (ages 5mos. to 74 years), just returned from an amazing vacation from Hale Aloha Estate. You walk in the front door and you're awestruck at the beauty. The home was spacious enough to accommodate everyone and all families had their own private bathroom. There is a family unit attached to the home that's like a small apartment and also a separate cottage on the property. The super large kitchen family room with all the amenities allowed for much conversation, games and laughter while cooking. Basketball was played in the front yard, while others were enjoying kayaking and snorkeling in the bay and playing on the beach in the back. The backyard was such a wonderful place for our family to start the day, enjoy a BBQ and watch our Great-Grand Daughter (20 mos), run around safely chasing the chickens. Jude Huber, the property manager, is so gracious and accommodating in every way possible to help meet your needs and make your dream vacation come true. She even took the time to introduce herself to our family and bring us the most delicious pineapple from her farm that we have ever had. Actually it is so wonderful, that we have had some shipped home to Colorado to share with our friends. We really can't say enough about this Estate, we only hope to return soon to our family's own private resort!
The home is even better than it looks if that is possible, everyone had an amazing time. Impeccably clean, designed beautifully and spacious. Very comfortable for large groups, with everything you need. If I had to fault it for anything it would be that there is a public beach access directly next door, and the beach is pretty small.
Our group of 8 adults enjoyed a fabulous 10 days at Hale Aloha. The house could easily have absorbed a couple more adults, even without expanding into the guest house. The house has multiple communal gathering spots, but also offers privacy, especially for the folks in the air conditioned wing. We appreciated the privacy and convenience of bathrooms in every bedroom that we used. The location is perfect. We could've spent our entire time sitting on the spacious back porch, or the second-story balcony, watching the surf and soaking it in. Though the beach is technically public, we rarely saw more than a couple people on the beach or in the water, if any at all. It's not an ideal swimming or wave-surfing spot, as the water is shallow and reefy. (It's fine for a quick dip.) But the waves breaking over the reef are mesmerizing, and there are plenty of good swimming spots nearby. The kitchen is huge (though more than two cooks in the prime meal-prep space got crowded), and has many of the basic spices and oils you'll need, as well as a range of helpful appliances. (We appreciated the blender and the rice cooker.) Jude (property manager) is friendly and responsive, and if you're lucky, you may score a to-die-for pineapple from her farm. The house is well stocked with toys-- from boogie boards to a basketball and hoop to a croquet set (which is great on the putting-green-like back lawn). And lots to do on Kauai! We managed to pry ourselves away to hike to the Hanakapiai Falls (a spur off the Napali Coast hike), where we swam at the base of the falls; trek to a waterfall in Waimea Canyon (don't miss); boogie board on Kealia Beach (don't go far south on that beach-- rip tides are real); ride bikes on the path north of Kapa'a; hike (amble?) to the Ho'opi'i waterfalls where we played on the rope swing at the base of the second falls; tour the island by helicopeter; and enjoy a boat trip up the Napali Coast. (We also enjoyed massages on the balcony, arranged by the concierge.) Enjoy!
Beautiful property and very well-equipped and family friendly. We had a wonderful time here and would return in a heartbeat!
Judith pays attention to detail. The house was pristine, perfect, and felt so comfortable! There is so much space here, and it's all so comfortable and beautifully decorated w/Hawaiian memorabilia and decor. The yard and the views were amazing, watching the sunrise in bed each day w/our 5 month old grandson was a memory I'll never forget! The yard is huge w/many amenities, with the ocean just another step away to practically a private beach of calm clear waters! This was a dream house to be able to enjoy w/my whole family. We hope one day to go back! Hopefully w/more grandchildren!
We were looking for a house that would be close to the beach and give my extended family room to spend a week together without getting on each other's nerves. This house was PERFECT. There was plenty of space, 7 bedrooms (including the garage suite) for the 11 of us to spread out out. The house is casually but elegantly decorated in surfing/Hawaiian themes and immaculately clean. Although you can get some idea of this from the photos, the house is even more impressive in person. The kitchen was a wonderful spot for us to gather in the evenings while we cooked dinner for 11 people. There is plenty of space for people to lounge while others are actively working. Behind the house is a lawn that is elegantly surrounded by coconut palms. Families of chickens regularly wandered through. There are all sorts of lawn games--croquet, smash ball available. The gate opens onto a beach with some rocks but easy entry for swimming/snorkeling. There is a reef with all sorts of fish, coral and sea turtles literally right out the back gate. It gave everyone plenty to do even when just hanging out at the house. The house is in a rather rural part of the island (with gorgeous scenery) and there is not a lot near by if you are looking for restaurants, etc. There is a general store about a mile away. It is 10-15 minutes to Kapaa town and a little further to points on the North Shore. I can't recommend this property highly enough. I don't know when we'll be able to return, but I certainly hope to one day.
I set up this reservation two years ago. Wanted a home large enough for two families plus myself to spread out, relax, have our own space yet all together under one roof. The beach and it's safety also important as with five grandchildren ages 9 through 15 safety important. Having been to Kauai twice before I knew what areas to stay away from and what areas to look for that perfect house. FOUND IT! The home and grounds more beautiful then I imagined it would be. The beach.......well, it was Hawaii in every sense of the word not to mention great snorkeling just steps away! Absolutely no need for a swimming pool when having beach front that provided all the swimming anyone would want. The boards and snorkeling equipment well used. So many amenities around to keep the kids and adults busy/happy. The historical town of Kappa close by to visit. Shaved ice became a favorite. Property location made it easy to get to all those little hideaway beaches north of Kappa. Heads up....if you drive north leave early as the parking can be challenging at the most sought after beaches. On those days of exploration don't sleep in! The other side of this is how wonderful property manager Jude was to us. We enjoyed her little visits not to mention the pineapples fresh off her pineapple farm. She is proud of this property and rightly so. Thank you Jude for all! In closing I say "Ditto" to all other recent reviews of this place. Don't be afraid of renting this home. Go for it. You won't be disappointed in any way. A great home for my family of 10. My only disappointment.....having to leave. That being said....... the good memories will live on forever. PERFECT!
We arrived at Hale Aloha and I can honestly say that the house was in pristine condition. It is clean, beautiful and very well- maintained. There was no need to use filters when they took the pics because it it truly that beautiful! My husband and I brought our adult children and their spouses and there was more than enough space for our group. The ocean breezes were wonderful and the sound of the waves were like music to our ears. We utilized the very large and well-stocked kitchen to cook meals when we were there and ate on the back porch most of the time. Jude was available when we needed her and brought us the most delicious pineapples we have ever tasted. The house is stocked with everything needed for the beach and we enjoyed playing croquet and being lazy in the hammock. Our kids enjoyed Tunnels beach so much, they went 3 times- to scuba dive in the tunnels and to snorkel the reefs. We made the drive to Waimea Canyon and it was definitely worth seeing, did the river kayak adventure, golfed at the municipal course down the highway, and did a dinner cruise to see the Napali Coast (make sure you take a big dose of Bonine)! The trip was amazing and having such a beautiful house to stay in really made it a great experience. We highly recommend Hale Aloha!
Our family has been planning for this trip for two years before it finally came, so you can imagine our expectations were high. Every one of our expectations were met plus some! The house is well maintained and absolutely lovely. The access to the beach was phenomenal and it was a wonderful gathering place for four generations of our family. The kitchen was well stocked, the bathrooms were spotless and Jude, the property manager, was solicitous of our every need. We were so happy to find toys for our two young grandsons at the home plus lifejackets for them. The pictures do not do this house justice, and I am looking forward to our next trip to Kauai. It will definitely include staying in this house again! The only suggestion I could make is that it would be nice to have a couple of adult life jackets on the property as well. Thanks for making our stay so memorable!!
This beautiful house was perfect for our large family's vacay. We've rented several houses in Hawaii and this is by far our fave! It accommodates a large group very comfortably, with plenty of private space. There is so much to do right there on the property- we enjoyed basketball games in the front yard and baseball on the back lawn, snorkeling, kayaking in the bay, relaxing in the hammock, reading on the lanai, and of course sunrises from "our" beach. There were toys and games for the kids and almost every amenity you could desire from shampoo to water shoes to beach chairs. During dinner, the kids loved to watch a movie (of which there were dozens to choose from) in the family room, while the adults ate in the dining room listening to music. This house is really set up for both children and adults to enjoy! It's a truly incredible house in an amazing location on a magical island! We would HIGHLY recommend staying at Hale Aloha!
We were two families totalling 14 people, ranging in age from 8 to 83. The house was perfect for our families, with the number of bathrooms, large kitchen, beautiful lanai, and the private beach! The kids were always asking to return "home" rather than go sightseeing! The mornings were incredible and the sunset followed by a star-filled sky in the evenings were memorable. The kitchen was well stocked and the bathrooms all had shampoo, conditioner, and soap, with lots of towels and beach towels. The kayaks, toys, water shoes and hammock were well used during our stay. Thank you to Jude for introducing us to the Sugarloaf pineapple - what a treat! The only downside was that during our stay, it was unusually humid and hot, according to the locals, and there is only a/c in the downstairs bedrooms. Our relatives found it extremely difficult to sleep upstairs as there were no trade winds. Having a/c in the whole house, as well as screens on the windows, would have been really useful that week. Lana
Our family of 15 (some as old as 80 y/o, some as young as 16) had the most beautiful week in paradise. As amazing as this posting makes the house seem, the house itself is actually more incredible. We never felt crowded, not once, as this house is full of spacious nooks to lounge and relax. For someone who loves a good kitchen, this one does not disappoint, and we found that it was the focal point of many evenings at home. In fact, we felt like we'd done a disservice to the rest of the island, because we found ourselves wanting to stay "in" every night to gather around the warm glow of the kitchen and to watch the waves from the comfort of the beautiful porch. There are an abundance of outdoor amenities right at the house that we all enjoyed: water-shoes, kayaks, lawn games, bbq, hammock, and we found ourselves jumping from activity to activity, in an attempt to fit it all in. Oh, and the beach felt practically private - what a treat! We honestly felt like we hit the jackpot with this house and the house manager was a pleasure to work with, in all ways possible. One thing that we had not considered before arrival was the location, but it actually turned out to be perfect for our needs. We felt close enough to the sights of the north shore (20-30 min away) and south shores (a little longer), but being so close to Kapaa, we were able to explore the more "local" Kauai. And, every morning on our daily walk around the quiet neighborhood, we had beautiful views of the ocean and the mountains. We felt like we had a truly authentic stay, and we cannot wait to plan our return visit!
I wanted a family reunion so that all of us (7 adults and 4 children under 4 years old), some of whom live on the east coast of US and the rest on the east coast of Australia, could have a holiday together. We could not have chosen a better place. The house and gardens are magnificent, allowing us to share time together while providing plenty of space so that we could spend some time quietly if we needed. All of us loved the garden where the children could run and play in complete safety. The beach and lagoon gave us many hours of pleasure. The house is beautifully designed and equipped with everything we needed for our 10-day stay. Jude, the manager, is amazing. She answered all of our questions promptly and courteously, and gave us wonderful support once we arrived. We loved this house and the location and would love to return.
My wife and I brought a group of photography enthusiast for a photo tour of Kauai. We wanted a beautiful location, intimate feel and yet plenty of room in a high quality home...We got this and MORE! Truly an incredible home with a wonderful manager in Jude! Super personal and very helpful. All the small touches upon our arrival made us all feel very welcome. As a photographer, I did some images for Jude because as people say, the images do not do it justice. What I found was...well...its very hard for the images to do it justice. Its a simple plantation style home from the outside, but it is METICULOUSLY cared for and MUCH more than you realize when you arrive. EVERYTHING is perfect and just wonderful and there is SO MUCH room for everyone. On top of it all, the kitchen is AMAZING. Everything is high end. Here is an aerial video I did while there just because it was so awesome. WE WILL BE BACK!! http://youtu.be/13pqqNND3zQ Perfect location and the beach as you can see from the video is pretty much all yours. Great snorkeling right there steps from the house even if winds as it is protected by the reef. Really couldn't ask for anything more in a home, location, property manager, beach or more... FYI....Thanks for the home made Pineapple Frosty's Jude!!! YUM!
I can't say more than what the other reviews have said. This house was just amazing. The pictures are beautiful and we were so excited to stay, but they really don't do it justice. You have to be there in person to appreciate it. Jude, the house manager is equally as impressive. She made our week just that much more enjoyable. We loved her so much we invited her to our wedding, which the house was just perfect for.
Looked for the ideal home for 16 of close family members to enjoy a week on Kauai and re-new our wedding vows. Had great reviews and seemed like a good fit, but still a bit uncertain if it would live up to the hype. Upon arrival through the entry gate, we knew it was perfect! Great island feel, yet current and practical to accommodate everyone's expectations. Floor plan was so ideal in that it gave everyone there own space, and plenty of common area to entertain when we all were together. High end finishes, nice appliances and the little touches like soaps and shampoos really completed the package. Sprawling lawn, expansive patio and decks, ocean front location, plenty of parking made this an ideal fit for the group of our size. Views and setting were incredible. Worked perfectly for the vow re-newal ceremony. Jude was attentive and pleasant, but definitely gave us our space. The one negative I would have to say is that the water in front is pretty rocky and not ideal for swimming; we did find entry points, but kids had trouble. There were plenty of other sandy beaches nearby, so wasn't a big issue. Would do it again in a heartbeat!
Amazing property, true beach front, immaculate gardens and a house so well designed, decorated and maintained that it is very clear on entering the property that you are somewhere special. Jude, who manages the property was great, super helpful and attentive. Layout is perfect for kids and adults alike, the kitchen is built to entertain and decks looks directly onto Alimanu bay.
We have family in America and Australia and we decided Hawaii was the place to meet for a special occasion. The house, garden and position were everything we could have dreamed of. Very special feel to the place, we are all sea people and loved the surfing memorabilia. Thank you for sharing a magical place and special thanks to Jude.
If you are looking for crowded beaches, bright lights, the pulsing base of the club...don't come here. The best and brightest lights of this location are the divine morning sunrises and the glorious night time stars. We arrived for a 10 ten stay with 10 people who ranged from ages 3 to 60, finding the estate plan intimate, yet spacious. Upon closing the front entry gate, children are provided the security to play freely (which means the adults can truly relax). Manicured yards of spongy grass and lava rock-lined planters provided hours of lizard hunting, soccer playing, Kauai chicken chasing, and croquet while those who preferred less strenuous activities lounged in the hammock or on the lanai lounge chairs. The Shangri-La backyard offers a gate between tall palms that accesses a very clean sand beach which is protected by a reef so the waves are certainly gentle. Snorkeling adventures found a few fish varieties and lots of sea cucumbers As for the house, we can't imagine a more relaxing place to spend time away from civilization...in a civilized manner (we are adventurous, but that is a different trip). There are large (seats 8-12), communal dining areas in the kitchen area, a formal dining room, and a covered lanai. And yet the floor plan allows couples time alone without infringing on others in the house (it IS Hawaii). The attention to detail is impressive. From the wood floors to the deeply cushioned seating, the surf-themed artwork to the kitchen implements, we felt as if we were staying with long time friends. Jude, the property manager, provided Aloha spirit with her personal touches of plumeria garnishes along the entryway. Her attentiveness and supportiveness from inquiry to reservation, and throughout our stay, were engaging but not intrusive. And the white pineapples (Jude and Paul farm these exquisite specialty fruit) are TO DIE FOR...sweet, succulent...perfect. All of us particularly enjoyed the gracious, informative tour of the pineapple farm with Jude and Paul. Their dog Panda put on a great show and the frosties beg to be franchised. Our experience with this location found comfort and luxury, seclusion and access, communal bonding and romantic nourishment. We can hardly wait to return next year. In other words...OMG!!! Dis place is off da hook!
I honestly don't even know where to begin! Between the gorgeous view of the beach, the perfectly manicured lawn, the spacious kitchen, and the amazing location this place is the ideal property for anyone looking for a getaway with all of the amenities! They even supplied kayaks, snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, etc! We were able to have the wedding of our dreams with NO planning whatsoever and we owe it all to Jude and this home!! Jude even gave us pineapples that she had personally grown that were as amazing as the home! We will definitely be returning for our anniversary if we can even wait that long! I have never been more please with a vacation home!!!! Thank you Jude for everything!!!
Hale Aloha is fantastic. It is just as described and portrayed by property manager, Jude. It was the perfect place for our family reunion. Approaching the home from the driveway one can see the beautiful view of the ocean thru the front door. The front yard is landscaped beautifully. Upon arrival, this was our first indication that we made a perfect choice in Hale Aloha. It looked just like a postcard! The home was pristine clean when we arrived, thanks to the hard work of Jude and team. During our stay, any questions or needs we would have, Jude would respond immediately! The home’s floor plan is well designed for a large crowd. There are plenty of gathering spaces as well as spaces for quite time and privacy, if needed. All the home’s furnishings were beautiful done and in excellent condition. The kitchen had all the amenities one could think of for entertaining a large crowd. The outdoor patios, lawn, and shrubby were meticulously maintained, creating a picture perfect view for morning sunrises and evening barbeques. The beach outside the back door was a real positive, with excellent snorkeling in the area right behind the “Gate to Paradise” The island is beautiful, with plenty to see and explore. Really appreciated Jude’s hospitality and laser attention to detail. One of the highlights of the trip was the family visit to “Hole in the Mountain Farm” for an education on white pineapple. It is a fabulous house that any family would be happy to stay in. I would highly recommend this to anyone contemplating visiting Kauai. (Had a couple of days where AC in a few more rooms might have been better. Higher than normal humidity and no trade winds but did not impact “One of the best vacations we ever had”.) Can’t thank you enough Jude! Hope to come back soon!
What a wonderful week in Hawaii in a beautiful house set in a gorgeous location. There were 15 of us ranging in age from 5 to 80 years old. There was plenty of room for all of us. We were able to rent the separate 1 bedroom unit attached to the garage as well. No problem with seating at meals by using both the large dining room and kitchen tables. The house was very thoughtfully laid out from the well-appointed bedrooms, the corresponding bathrooms, enormous chef kitchen, 2 living rooms, and wraparound deck that showcased the stunning sunrises. When we 1st arrived, the house was immaculate and well-maintained. We were welcomed with beautiful Hawaiian flowers as well as a delicious white pineapple. The house is set up for a very relaxing vacation. The kids loved playing in the large backyard. The mostly secluded beach there is protected by a reef so the kids found no problem tide-pooling or snorkeling right outside of the house. The Hale Aloha has many amenities that make the stay even more enjoyable including boogie boards, beach chairs, 2 kayaks, games, puzzles and toys. Jude is the quintessential host. She was a wealth of information and takes pride in ensuring that her guests have the best time possible during their stay at Hale Aloha. Jude was gracious enough to give us a tour of her nearby white pineapple and fruit farm. The kids loved learning about pineapples, tasting different fruit such as rambutans and longans, as well as playing with her very cute dog Panda! We highly recommend this property to anyone who wants luxury and relaxation in Hawaii. We are already planning our next trip back there! Mahalo Jude!!
House was set up perfectly for us - no bumping into one another - just great. Jude and her entire team were great!
The reviews of this house do not do it justice! We did a lot of research on houses before we chose Hale Aloha. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The house itself is immaculate and stunning - even better than the pictures show. Our entire family's jaws dropped when they walked into the house. The yard was manicured to perfection with beautiful plumeria and hibiscus all around the yard. The area is very quiet, so it was a joy to sleep at night to the sound of the waves. We even treked down the beach & over the rocks to check out the turtles feeding every morning. We were a group of 12 adults and 3 children staying at the house. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and not feel like we were on top of each other. The yard and beach were perfect for the kids to play & swim. Jude was the best property manager we could have asked for. She was there for anything that we needed and return phone calls promptly. The little touches with the flowers when we arrived and the pineapple were great. She made us feel very special and she was very accomodating. You can tell that she genuinely cares for the propery and those that rent the home. Mahalo Jude for everything! We cannot wait to come back to Hale Aloha. Much Aloha!
We shared the house with another family & enjoyed a fabulous week. The amenities were amazing, and we could not have asked for a more perfect house. The backyard was great for the kids to play on the grass, and a simple opening of the gate took us to adventures in the snorkle friendly beach. If you are looking for luxury on the beach in Kauai, look no further!
Must echo other reviews that the pictures actually don't do justice to this house. Beautiful, roomy, and tasteful in all respects. The WOW factor starts even before you open the door as you can see through the house to the beach before even opening the door. Two semi-private suites. All the amenities to enjoy the beach which is literally steps away. Though not private beach it might as well have been...occasionally some locals fishing but often we had it entirely to ourselves. We had 4 children and the oldest 3 (ages 2, 3, & 8) enjoyed the beach and the ocean which is quite protected and safe. Great area for snorkeling, particularly in the mornings but even in the afternoon when tide came in. Our family of 13 all enjoyed themselves without being all over each other. Even with the kids the TV was rarely on. Jude is an outstanding and responsive manager but also unobtrusive. Would go back in a heartbeat!
We are a family of four and our dear friends who joined us at this fabulous home are a family of six and it was perfect! The kiddos could run and play in the backyard or go down to the beach (which is found just beyond the beautiful lawn) to hunt for crabs in the evening or snorkel in the morning. I am aware that there are no private beaches in HI however I don't think you could ask for a less public beach if you tried. We rarely shared the beach or the bay for that matter with more than a handful of people at a time. We woke every morning to the most magnificent view and perfectly tempered trade winds. I have to say often at the end of a vacation I am looking forward to heading home to my own bed but the week ended too soon from this magical place. We look forward to the next time we can come back and visit this little slice of perfection.
After reading the other reviews, I thought "What's left to say?" Every good thing that was said is not an exaggeration. In fact, the pictures do not do it justice..I polled the 13 members of our family, ranging from 3 and 1/2 to 66 and everything in between as to what did you like about the house. Here are some of the replies...The huge bed I slept in...the short lawn that we could play on, the hammock, the beach being right there, the sand toys and the kayaks and boogie boards...seeing the sunrise over the ocean as you woke up each morning and feeling the fresh ocean breezes wafting in ... the immaculate condition of the house when we arrived...the space to spread out and yet feel like we were all together...the great snorkeling...the huge kitchen ...the feeling you had stepped in to a Better Homes and Gardens magazine home...so beautiful...every detail of the house, the beach, Jude's thoughtfulness...really, you could not ask for anything more beautiful, comfortable, and enjoyable than this magical place! We would all love to go back!
Hale Aloha, you gave us an unforgettable week in paradise! We enjoyed an amazing vacation with family and friends celebrating our dad's upcoming 80th birthday. The property is even more beautiful than the pictures show. Young and old, everyone had a fabulous time both at the house and on the beach. We created many special memories, and Hale Aloha is at the center of them all. We hope to find our way back soon!!
I first visited this property last Oct (2012) when I was looking for my wedding venue in Kauai. I fell in love with the property immediately. It's absolutely beautiful, elegant, functional, and extremely private. From talking with Jude, the property manager instantly gave us a sense of comfort because you could tell that she truly cared for the property. And through the beautiful details of the home- you know the property is well taken care of. We ended up staying in the property for a week with our immediate family for our wedding. I can't describe how amazing the experience was. Everyone had a great time and was sad to leave. The house had everything for everyone- the moms used the nice kitchen to cook family dinners, kids walked out to the beach for swimming, dads went out kayaking, and for me, the bride...I couldn't ask for a more beautiful wedding day. The set up was amazing and the environment was absolutely intimate and warm. I highly recommend this property for anyone who wants a unforgettable family vacation in Kauai!
I'm trying to think of something to add that isn't already included in previous reviews. But at the end of the day, this home is INCREDIBLE. Our favorites parts: - Falling asleep to the waves every night - Watching the kids run around and play in the spacious and well-kept backyard - Walking three feet past the backyard onto the beach - Not having to run to the store to get foil, plastic wrap, or other incidentals for the kitchen - Being able to call Jude with anything without feeling like we were bothering her - And of course, Jude's delicious pineapples! To repeat the others, the photos truly do not do the place justice. The trim and finishes on the home make it evident that a lot of thought (and investment) has gone into making this a high-end property. It was a splurge for our group to stay here but worth every penny. We probably should've explored the island more but it was just so relaxing and comfortable at the house. At the end of the day, you can't go wrong staying here.
We are so fortunate to have stayed here twice in the last three years. My parents rented the house as an extended family vacation spot, including three adult children and our spouses, and six grand children ages 6 to 16. The location is great, the house has a sensational setting, and there are many amenities provided to the beautiful and comfortable house. The kitchen is thoroughly and well equipped, and the bedrooms are very comfortable. Through out the house, a high standard of cleanliness is maintained. The historical surfing decor is good fun, and there are relevant books and children's toys at the house. The house manager went out of her way to be helpful if ever we needed something or had a question. From the balcony, a few times I saw humpback whales spouting just beyond the reef. We did snorkel from the beach outside the house (and saw sea turtles there), although we found the snorkeling more compelling in other places. However, on Christmas day of our first stay, a Hawaiian monk seal basked on the beach near the house for hours. The teenagers enjoyed the opportunity to take out the kayaks provided, and we all treasure the many family meals we ate outside on the patio, while watching the moon rising over the coconut palm trees. All in all, it is a great, wonderful and peaceful place to stay.
If there were more starts to rate this place I would use all of them. Besides the house, location, and views, Jude the house manager is worth another 5 stars alone. We rented this house to not only have our wedding, but to have a place to share with our close family and friends for a week of relaxation. We had 11 people staying in the house and never once did it feel crowded, in fact I found myself wandering around shouting for people I couldn't find. The house itself is immaculate, with all the charm of Hawaii one could ask for. I've seen other reviews state it as well, and it can't be overstated…the pictures DO NOT do this place justice. The amazing kitchen was our favorite part of the whole house, where everyone would gather to hang, cook, and enjoy the view. Step out of the house into your spacious backyard, and step out of your backyard onto the almost private beach. We witnessed sunrises nothing short of spectacular, often enjoying them by snorkeling or kayaking with gear provided by the house. As far as the wedding, the house accommodated 35 people without a hitch. We set up a tent and dance floor in the backyard and had room to spare for a photo booth, cocktail tables, food buffet and a DJ. I cannot imagine a better setting than this private backyard overlooking the ocean. Jude the house manager may have been the best part of this whole deal. She greeted us with beautiful flowers and every detail needed, and after a quick rundown she left us in privacy. The day of the wedding we had what we thought were faulty outlets, and with one call to Jude she was there in 5 minutes…this was a Sunday! It turned out there was no problem at all but Jude was there anyway, with all the extension chords we could need just in case, along with some delicious local fruit and a grocery bag full of flowers. Bottom line: if we had an issue, Jude was there. You will not be sorry staying here and we fully intend to come back for more. I write this back at home, depressed I am gone, but truly grateful we were able to call this home for a week...If you stay, say hello to the sea turtles out back for us. With Aloha, Adam & Nikki
This home is amazing! It was very hard to say good bye to the hammock with a view of the ocean and listening to the waves crash all night from my bedroom window. My sister and I are very picky when it comes to were we stay and she said that this is THE best designed and decorated house she has ever been in. Jude, the property manager, brought us some welcome gifts of fresh pineapple and exotic fruits - she was all about aloha. The sunrise from my bedroom window is a MUST to be experienced. I'm almost hesitant in writing this review because I don't want it to be booked up the next time I want to come to Kauai. The house is on the sand with a private entrance direct from the lawn - step off the back lawn and onto the sand - it's that close! There is snorkeling directly in your back yard and in a quiet neighborhood. The beach is very secluded which would be great for a romantic trip (walking on what seems like a private beach) or a family trip - chances are very high that you will have the beach to yourself! The owner's have an appreciation for surfing history as it shows throughout the house's decor. The amenities were fantastic (beach towels, designer bath soaps, beach chairs, boogie boards, kayaks, etc.) and we would love to come again! Thank you for making our Kauai vacation a trip of a lifetime! MAHALO!
This was one of the best vacation spots I have ever been too. The location is ideal and perfect. The house itself has so much charm and personality, I don't think I will ever want to stay in a hotel in Kauai again. I went with a group of 11 and we had plenty of space. Could have even fit more! Grounds where nice and Jude (the house manager) was super attentive and helpful! Spent most the time in the beautiful kitchen and out back on the patio relaxing, chatting and listening to the waves. The entire group loved the place so much we all are positive we will return here when we come back to Kauai. Don't even hesitate, you WANT to stay at this house!
We recently stayed at Hale Aloha and held our destination wedding in the backyard. When we arrived, we were speechless! The pictures online did not do it justice. Not only was the view absolutely stunning but every detail in the house was perfect for a classic Hawaiian home. All of our guests fell in love with the home and could not have loved it more. If you are looking for an amazing Kauai vacation rental, look no further. The private beach the house looks out onto was perfect for snorkeling and kayaking and is located just minutes from great little towns. The house also includes kayaks and great lounging furniture. We are already planning a trip back! If you are looking for a destination wedding site, Hale Aloha is your spot. We could not have asked for a better location. It added so much Hawaiian charm and character to our ceremony and reception. We did not want to leave!! The only hindrance was the tiny road it's located on so plan on a shuttle of some kind but other than that, absolutely wonderful home.
This house was hands down the very best part of of the very best vacation of my life! We had 11 people staying there, 3 couples, 3 children, and 2 singles, and everyone loved it, and had a wonderful time! The beach is AMAZING. The Kitchen is AMAZING! The sunrises were AMAZING! There was enough space in the house that everyone had plenty of space. The kids loved the house. Kauai is a incredible island. The Na'Pali coast tour is a definite must see. Same with Waimea canyon. The best shave ice on the island is 3 minutes away (by car) at the defries wagaon (debest shave ice). Hanalei was an charming town, easily the groups favorite beach as well. The farmers market by the Kong Lung center by the lighthouse on Thursday was amazing. Still, with all the amazing, beautiful locations located on this tropical paradise, this house was one of my favorite memories from our amazing vacation. I can not rate this house high enough. Please, do yourself a favor and stay here.
I feel so fortunate to have had the privilege to stay in this wonderful home with our kids and grandbabies. We could not have imagined a better place for a family vacation. The home had everything we could possibly have wanted: the kitchen complete with icemaker, wine cooler, bar fridge as well as full fridge, gas stove, indoor bbq grill (didn't use it but it was nice to know we could have) plus outdoor bbq kayaks, boogie boards, kids' toys... The house is a tribute to the island, tastefully furnished and decorated. Great location, only 1/2 hour from the airport and central enough to make everywhere we wanted to go attainable in a day trip. The managers recommended Chef Juels to us who came in and cooked a couple of amazing meals and charmed us with her presence. We loved being only a couple of miles from a great fruit stand/espresso/sandwich place that made the best fresh fruit smoothies ever. Enjoyed the Bakery, Natural Foods, Fish Market...in Kilawea and fell in love with Kauai itself. Having such a great home to stay in was definitely a big factor in our vacation. Lots of room for us to hang out together but also plenty of privacy. The sights and sounds from the linai and the deck were incredible. We saw whales, snorkeled right in front of the house, kayaked, were fortunate to have amazing weather as well as a full moon and clear skies. I would recommend this property to anyone with a group. I was impressed by the photos on the listing but they cannot fully capture the character of the home and wonder of the setting. Although we were all continuing our vacations in various parts of Hawaii we all felt sad to leave. We'll be back!
Awesome house and location!
We had the most wonderful stay at Hale Aloha! We were a family of 9, and it was amazing for all of us. We had more space than we knew what do do with! The house is beautiful and the beach front location was amazing!! It really made you not want to leave the property. The house was full of everything we needed - beach/sand toys, an abundance of water shoes (that were definitely needed), 2 2-person kayaks, snorkels, towels, beach chairs, umbrellas... There was really no need to leave the house! We visited in perfect weather (early Feb) where there was a beautiful breeze and plenty of sun! There is only a/c in the bottom floor bedrooms, so FYI. It wasn't super necessary to have it in the upstairs 3 bedrooms, although it would have been nice. We just made sure we kept the ceiling fans and plug-in fans on, especially in the evening to keep away any bugs/mosquitos. There are no screens on any of the windows, so something to keep in mind as well. On a side note, when leaving the home, you should definitely set the alarm. We didn't have any problems, but our friends who stayed down the road had their home broken into. Hale Aloha has a large gate and is entirely fenced in, but given the neighboring area of Anahola, it's definitely a good idea to lock up and keep your valuables out of sight when you leave. Also, Jude, the house manager was amazing! She was very kind, helpful and welcoming. Hale Aloha is lucky to have her!
Our stay here was the best! It was our favorite place to stay in our four visits to Kauai. Our family of 10 (ages 3-86) had a fantastic experience and found the property to be exactly what we expected...only better! The house was immaculate and the amenities were excellent (kitchenware, soaps, towels, toys, etc). The beach and lanai were our favorites, along with the sunrises & Kauai evenings together. This place offers great gathering areas and many quiet private nooks. Jude was sweet, friendly and helpf ul from start to finish. The location was close to Kapaa but between Hanalei and Poipu. Our favorite island restaurants were The Beach House, Hukilau Lanai, & Duke's. The highlights of our trip were the ATV Waterfall Tour (Koala), Kee Beach & Hike, Napali coast catamaran tour, driving the Waimea Canyon, snorkling (rented at Snorkle Bob's for the week/$30) and enjoying the beach in our backyard! We will recommend this house and hope to be back in the future.
