Stayed Nov 22, 2025Welcomed by the friendly staff to be told the cottage was ready. Had a drink and put our things in the cottage. Had a light snack and went back later for a lovely dinner. Breakfast is fantastic. Nicest staff ever.

Stayed Sep 19, 2025A very old inn , full of character and popular with the locals. Better than expected accommodation. We had a cottage to begin with which was very clean, spacious and an extremely comfortable bed. Food was excellent both breakfast and evening meals with a good choice. We decided to extend our stay and were moved to room 15 to the front and on the ground floor of the hotel. Again it was very spacious, very modern and had everything for a most comfortable stay. Definitely recommend!

Stayed Aug 17, 2025The Balmoral is the perfect place to stay be it for work or leisure. The rooms are spacious and very well equipped. A fridge with complementary water and Coca Cola, combined with an excellent selection of tea and coffee. biscuits and chocolates all serve to provide the key things you might want or need. The food menu is wide ranging and the staff cannot be bettered.

Stayed Jul 20, 2025I stayed in one of the cottages, which was spacious, comfortable and at night quiet. On the whole I liked the food served in the bar. which was inexpensive and unpretentious.

Stayed Jul 8, 2025We stayed in one of the Cottages at the back of the hotel. It was really quiet and spacious. We had somewhere safe to store our bicycles ( which was very important to us). The food was home cooked and tasted good.

Stayed Jun 25, 2025The cottage with it's own garden was peaceful and well equipped. Some lovely, welcoming touches, such as fresh milk, biscuits and chocolates. To elevate the stay further, I would suggest changing the seating in the living area. The sofa was comfortable for 2, if 3 were staying could do with an armchair too. The sofa's cover was ill fitting, so detracted slightly from the lovely space. Enjoyed our stay, only too short. The breakfast was good and evening meals very tasty.

Stayed Apr 25, 2025We booked this hotel based on location. We did not realise that we would be based in a room in the annexe which was so small we ended up having to put up the ironing board to accommodate our medium sized suitcase, the hanging space is completely inadequate. En-suite facilities again very small with no space for toiletries. On reflection we would have been better off financially booking into one of the budget hotels nearby with bigger rooms, better parking and a much better breakfast

Stayed Mar 23, 2025The hotel staff were very welcoming and the cottage was comfortable, clean and offered plenty of facilities, although personally we are not accustomed to a double rather than king size bed however this did not cause any issue for our one night stay . The breakfast was generous and tasty and we would recommend.

Stayed Feb 2, 2025The accommodation was great, we really liked the privacy and quietness of the converted stables. We liked having in our minifridge with fresh milk, bottled water and coke. Dressing gowns were provided in the shower room. The complementary full size box of Thorntons chocolates was a lovely touch as was the bowl full of Celebrations minis. The staff were very friendly and helpful
