If you are a person that is concerned about clean bedding, this is the property for you! This is a one bedroom, one bath cottage with all amenities. There is NO carpet in the cottage, only beautiful porcelain tile and area rugs. Owner was born in this almost world famous neighborhood and can direct you to all the local watering holes and restaurants that New Orleans is famous for. We are off the beaten path, and can steer you away from the tourist traps. The battle field of New Orleans is one mile from this property. See where General Andrew Jackson and the pirate Jean Lafitte teamed up and defeated the English and liberated the United States of America.
Swimming pool available for registered guests only 9am until 9pm daily. No outside guests allowed
Such a wonderful place! The owner, Michael, was very kind and helpful. Told us of a place to throw marshmallows to alligators. The kids had a good time with that. The pool is nice, it isn’t heated but that didn’t stop the kids from jumping in! Michael was just a phone call away for things like extra toilet paper or a blanket. My husband said the futon wasn’t the most comfortable but it is a futon. The bathroom is in the bedroom, which you can’t tell from the pictures. However, not a big deal. After flushing the toilet jiggle the handle up so it doesn’t run through the night. The yard is beautiful with all the greenery and the lizards are fun to see. Thank you so much for sharing your space! Hope this helps someone (:
Very clean and cute cottage. Owner is easy to contact and location is great. Perfect distance to avoid the hassle and bussel but still be close to the fun.
The bungalo was in a great location. Quiet, great size, and quick access to see the sites. We had a blast for our 10 year anniversary. Look forward to making another trip to New Orleans with the kids soon.
This is a beautiful, well kept and quiet property.
This is a Beautiful property it is exactly what you see online. Micheal and family were great host the cottage was cozy, clean, the pool was very refreshing , the patio area was very relax great location.
The property is amazing and the pool is beautiful! You are outside of New Orleans, but only a short drive away from all the fun. The property owner, Michael, was great and super helpful. His properties really are great! Our unit had everything you would need, including a washer and dryer and all the kitchen items you may need. My husband and I really enjoyed celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and can't wait to come back after Covid-19 ends. A lot of things were closed due to the virus, but we had fun hanging by the pool and relaxing at the house. You are also only about an hour away from Baton Rouge where you can play Top Golf, but I suggest to make a reservation before driving over.
My boyfriend and I had a lovely 6 night stay here, and the property was very clean and absolutely gorgeous! Had all the small things you may not have packed, perfectly equipped kitchen, and the hospitality of the host was the best part! Being a local he new all the best places to go and the coolest things to see to make our trip worth our while! Will definitely be staying here again in the future!
The yard and flowers were so beautiful. The fenced in saltwater pool was so refreshing and the house was clean and very cozy. The hosts were top notch!
I really hate to write this review, as I want to keep it to myself, but this is a awesome find for the area. Can’t recommend it enough. Quite and safe neighborhood. My wife and kids were with me, and I am a very cautious person. Never once was I worried about the location once we got there. Very clean and the owner was very helpful and friendly. We will be back!
This quant apartment afforded us a great place to recharge after days spent enjoying all that the city of New Orleans has to offer!
No complaints. Exceptional property. Very clean. Owner allowed us to come in early after driving 15 hours over the night to get ahead of a snowstorm. Washer and dryer were a plus. Pool was cold but our 7 year old still swam. Felt safe and comfortable.
Great cottage with a large yard my lab really enjoyed. Easy access to the sights. Used Lyft two evenings to avoid driving and drinking. Overall a great week in NOLA!
All in all a great place to stay!! Very nice people to stay with!
Very clean. Loved being in our own detached cottage and really like the area, nice and quiet. 15 minute uber ride and you are in the middle of the quarter. There is a Walmart a couple of miles down the street so you can get whatever you forgot at home. Will stay there again when I go back to New Orleans.
Great location and cozy place to conjure our energy after a jaunt into Crescent City...
Very clean , comfortable and quiet. Easy drive into the city.
Perfect for the 3 of us (2 adults and 1 dog). Clean place in a quiet neighborhood. Doesn't get better than that.
Sweet little safe area with a handful of apartments. Clean, quiet, and spacious. Plenty of grassy area for the dog. Would definitely stay here again.
A nice quiet little town with great restaurants! A relaxing and peaceful atmosphere in the courtyard and pool area.
Perfect..a few minutes from the French Quarter and Uber rides each way were $10-15.
The property was great; very nice, clean, private and cozy. Definitely a great place to stay, highly recommended. It seems a little far from french quarter, but its worth the drive (about 15/20 minutes, about 4/5 miles).
The owners made everything very easy and the location was perfect. Felt safe and was perfectly clean.
The cottage is lovely. Just right for our weekend getaway. And our four legged furry companions thought the fenced in yard rocked. The neighborhood is quiet making walks a lovely experience. The outdoor patio is tranquil filled with plants making it a pleasant oasis. And a porch swing is delightful. We didn't use the pool but it was available which is a nice bonus. Thank you Michael and Oi for a delightful stay at Miranda Villa.
We had a great time exploring New Orleans. The property was clean and quiet and we felt safe there. The owners left good information on surrounding restaurants.
Cottage was very nice and clean. Had nice big fenced yard for our dogs. Would definitely stay here again.
Great clean place with a pool. Just the right size and price. Unless you want to be closer to Bourbon street, place to be.
Michael and Oi, Thank you so much for sharing your piece of paradise with us. We had a fabulous time while in New Orleans for our first visit. We experienced the air boats and alligators first hand! Frenchmen Street was a great recommendation -- we had a fantabulous time there! The bands, entertainment and experience were fun! Hoping the water heater repair went well after our check out - thank you for accommodating our furry family and allowing us to stay put and use an alternative bath. We will be back -- Tim, Rose, Neeka and Blu - Minnesota
Great place for family and dogs!
Owner leaves a summary in how to get nto new Orleans and where to find free parking. City is about 10 minutes away. The neighborhood is quite and appears safe. Our 2 dogs loved the gated yard.
Actually perfect place to stay anytime. Third visit to New Orleans and by all factors best trip yet. Great AC, bed was high quality ( I have a sensitive back), super clean, furnished tastefully. Wifi was a little slow sometimes. Felt very safe and was fun meeting other guests at the pool. Very nice patio area with palm trees etc. It deserves all the 5 star reviews. Owner cares about the property and is very nice. My tip would be to leave the car there and Uber to French Quarter for $15 no parking hassle,, maximum fun.
Fantastic Hospitality! Pad was very quaint and peaceful.
Very clean and comfy! The cottage had all the amenities that my family needed and only a short drive from everything. Also it felt very safe!
Good accommodation, everything we needed for a self catering holiday. Topped off by brilliant hosts.
The cottage was nice and the parking was wonderful. It was great that we had driveway parking. Michael, the owner, was nice and very informative. He was able to check on us without invading on our space. The cottage was clean with modern appliances. The outdoor area is spacious and the other cottages house very nice and approachable visitors as well. We left our camera charger there when we left and Michael called to say he was mailing it to us. It has not arrived yet so hopefully he did but ultimately that one is on us.
Great stay with our two large dogs at the Mardi Gras cottage! Good sized fenced yard for our pups to run around. Hosts were helpful and cottage was clean comfortable and perfect space for us!
We had a wonderful stay here at Mardi gras cottage! So quiet and peaceful!!
The house is nice and well kept and the host very gracious. The location worked out great for dropping into New Orleans and the other stops on our itinerary.
It was clean and beautiful plus the owners are very helpful, this is the second time we have stayed at their place. When we go back to New Orleans I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.
This cottage felt just like home. It had room enough for my husband, myself and our doggy . Cottage and the fenced in yard is very well maintained.Swimming pool area was very nice. We got a little confused about which cottage was ours and Michael answered the call very promptly and helped us. We had good parking included with the rental price. We felt very safe while there. Surprised to see supplies there such as toilet paper, paper towels, bath soap and dish soap. Walmart and other eateries are close by and easy drive. We would definitely recommend Mardi Gras Cottage. Hope to go back when its warm enough to use the pool . Good books and information about New Orleans History, in case you have any spare time. Very interesting info. and can help you figure out what you would like to explore in that area.French quarters is a few miles away. Comfortable bed but is squeaky when you turn over. Toilet may need a little work, flush is very weak, but it works. Shower is great. Nice roomy refrigerator.
The Mardi Gras Cottage was perfect! The hosts, Michael and Oi were wonderful and went out of their ways to help us during our time in New Orleans. We will definitely stay there again!
Me and my husband and 2 dogs loved our stay at the Cottage! It was very clean and cozy and the location was perfect for us to visit New Orleans and all the other places we wanted to enjoy. The owners were so friendly and helped me with were to park when we did go to New Orleans that would be convenient and affordable and places to eat locally they gave us some great tips ! We also loved that there was other renters on the property that at the end of the day we had some great conversations with and would all exchange places we had been and our tips to a better trip but the best thing about staying in this cute cottage was that they made out pups welcome which gave us peace of mind to enjoy out vacation to the fullest!! We are definitely gonna book here again!
A great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter. Felt like going home after a long day of sightseeing and touring. Very clean and had all the essentials you need for your stay. And the owners were great and there if you need anything
I went on a girl's trip Sep 27th-Oct 1st. Michael and Miranda where wonderful host. Not only was the house fully equipped with everything you needed. Michael went out of his way to tell us where to eat and explore & how to watch out for ourselves. When we go back to New Orleans this is the only place we will stay. I have been telling all my friends about it. Michael & Miranda treated us just like one of the family!!
property was clean and private, but you are not the only ones with the pool, property houses like 4-5 rentals and all share the pool. Pool never seemed to be on so no water fountain running, no lounge chairs so bring your own.
The Mardi Gras Cottage was an excellent place to stay for our first trip to NOLA. The cottage was clean and had everything you need to relax after a long day the the city. Our grandson loved the pool and we really appreciated having a full kitchen and washer and dryer. And we sure appreciated the air conditioning after a long hot day touring. Michael and Oi went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend the Mardi Gras Cottage as your home base in New Orleans.
Nothing extra indoors. Very uncomfortable futon, hard to relax, the bed was noisy, too soft and with 2 people laying in it you rolled into the center. For the price, not we’ll stocked at all, we had to buy our own paper towels and laundry soap. The refrigerator accumulated water on back top shelf and not well stocked with larger cups/glasses. The handle to the oven was broken and very difficult to use it. The owners are very nice as well as their 2 dogs. Again, the outdoors was the best!
My 3 dogs and I really enjoyed our time at the Mardi Gras cottage. First, it is super clean and very quiet. I am a single female traveling with 3 small dogs (all dachshunds) and I felt completely safe so for those of you who might be tentative about the 9th Ward designation, I even went out to walk my dogs after midnight and at 5 AM with no issues. As with any place especially when one is not from the area, be smart and vigilant but truly, this goes for anywhere even when in one's own neighborhood. In fact, we felt so comfortable here that we stayed an extra day so we could go check out the LSU Botanical Garden and Burbank Park in Baton Rouge which are dog-friendly. Other dog-friendly activities worth exploring are the Bonnabel Boat Launch dog park in Metairie and Inshore Rip Charter in St. Bernard. Ask for Captain Ed or Captain Elliott; my 3 little guys and I had an awesome time with Captain Elliott and caught 5 fish, including one that weighed over 15 lbs. The cottage is conveniently located, within a short drive to the French Quarter however, if you are looking for a place that is away from tourist traps but still has lots of interesting things to do, Arabi is a cool spot with lots of restaurants (e.g., The Kitchen Table, Rocky and Carlo's with their enormous portion sizes, and Palms, Too casino restaurant). Be sure to visit Algiers Point for a self-guided walking tour of historic homes and beautiful architecture. Michael and Miranda are also wonderful hosts, super responsive and accommodating. They have stocked the cottage with lots of helpful guides and suggestions on restaurants and activities. Thank you Michael and Miranda for letting us stay the extra day :D.
Loved staying here for jazz fest. Great yard and the cottage had everything we needed
Cons: You have to share the pool and patio area with four other rental unit. This was never brought to our attention when talking about renting. I even mentioned that my husband has a prosthetic leg and how much he as going to enjoy the privacy of having a private pool! Other smaller things are that the bathroom is in the bedroom, which was okay as we had a child with us, but would be awkward for two couples. There are only two stools to sit at so one of us stood while eating and the only other place to sit was the futon. Not comfortable to watch a movie or trying to relax, we did bring in a chair from the patio which helped. Pros: Very nice location, decor is cute, unit is clean. A big plus is that there is a washer and dryer and some necessities in cottage, paper towels, coffee, salt, pepper, garbage bags, etc. Miranda was very nice and they have two friendly dogs😊
We chose this place because it looked quiet and had a yard for our little dog, who is not a great traveler. It exceeded our expectations. It was a true respite from the hustle and bustle of New Orleans. My only suggestion would be add some larger coffee cups and bowls. And maybe hanging hooks or bars in the bathroom.
We stayed for 4 nights over St. Patty's Day. It was great. We brought our dog so it was great to be a little bit further away from the constant festivities. We had our own little cottage and were too busy in the Quarter to get to take advantage of the beautiful yard, patio and pool. Everything we needed was provided and the bed was very comfortable. It was charming.
This was our first experience staying in a VRBO. We found this cottage exactly as advertised, reservation request handled expeditiously, and thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay. It was a very easy drive into and out of New Orleans each day where we parked at the Basin Street Visitor Center (just $5 per day) and bought a three-day tour bus pass ($49 per person) which got us around the rest of the city and attractions we wanted to see. The VRBO hosts had lots of good tourist information and brochures in the rental. We were on an extended trip that included these four days, so having an in-rental washer and dryer was a godsend. Having a full kitchen with a large frig allowed us to take some of the big lunches we couldn't manage to finish home and make them our dinner several nights. The VRBO hosts were very gracious and nice to accommodate us after we almost settled in to the wrong unit on arrival. There are three or four VRBO units in this residential complex, so be careful on arrival to be sure you are at the correct unit! Also you can ignore the Beware of the Dog sign at the entry gate which threw us off a bit at first. The owners were carefully maintaining the pool even though the weather was a little cool, so I couldn't resist and took several bracing dips in the late afternoon when we returned from our touring. I can't recommend this property more highly, much more homey and a very reasonable price alternative compared to the New Orleans city hotels with their institutional feel, high rates and outrageous nightly parking fees.
We absolutely loved it and want to come back and stay here again very soon. The owners are very friendly and we appreciated their hospitality. Loved the back yard for our fur babies and we enjoyed the location-close to downtown yet far enough away for a serene quiet safe stay. Had so much fun in New Orleans and went fishing, fish market- Bringimg yummy seafood back to MN, shopping, nightlife- frenchmen street, CASINO 😁, biking, dining- loved charbroiled oysters-thanks for the recommendation!! Thank you again!!! 🌴⚘🌺😉
The cottage is very nice and clean! The overall property is nice and relaxing. Although it was February, we were able to enjoy the patio a few nights and even met our neighbors who were all very friendly. The owners of the property went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. It was so great meeting them! A short Lyft or taxi ride will get you to and from the French quarter. We didn't really venture anywhere else... afterall, it was Mardi Gras!! And that's where all the action was. I will say this, Lyft rates increase during Mardi Gras and any other really BUSY times. This property is also about 25-30 min from airport, FYI. Other than that, two thumbs up for our first NOLA experience!
It’s always nerve racking when you try to find accommodations in a city you have never been. We were so pleased by the property, clean and well lit at night. Michael was friendly and greeted us when we arrived. We used LYFT to get into town. Usually a $14 ride. The cottage was a nice respite to come home from all the fun we had in town. Can not wait to return and will definitely rebook. The cottage was impeccably clean as well. Thanks for the great experience.
This cottage was bigger than it looks in the photos. Only a 10-15 minute Lyft ride to French Quarter. Quiet area, clean house.
My fiance and I had a wonderful time staying at this house. Michael is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. He gave us some great recommendations on where to eat and fish. The house was very clean and the perfect size for us. We would highly recommend this property. Thanks again, Michael!
much more than we expected
My husband and I stayed in the Mardi Gras Cottage for 3 days before our cruise. Clean and very relaxing! Salt water pool....awesome!
Nice cottage with a short drive to the French Quarter. Enjoyed our stay!
The owner here is so much fun. He made our stay all the more better.
We spent most of our time lounging around with new friends from Australia in the swimming pool
Another great stay at the Mardi Gras Cottage. My wife and I stayed at this cottage several times and never dissappointed. The place is clean, spacious and the owner is very nice.
I enjoyed every bit of our stay - from the private entry, free parking, nice outdoor pool, CLEAN space, amazingly comfortable bed, and so much more! It was enough distance from the city to where I'm not overwhelmed with traffic & surprisingly peaceful. I adored the outdoor swing, and the smell of honeysuckle was a finishing touch. Thinking of staying here again next month for a friend's wedding. The only cons were a train ran close by every morning but for only a few times, which is bearable. The other was that oven mitts were missing! A rag just won't do for me. Pros definitely outweighed the cons.
My family really enjoyed our stay. It was nice and quiet at night and our kids enjoyed the pool. Even our Boston enjoyed her stay. She had a nice fenced in yard to play in. Overall great place.
Very clean and charming. Everything was as described and we had a great time. Well be back! Thanks so much.
This cottage was wonderful! My friends and I had a whirlwind trip to New Orleans that most every moment was packed with things to do but in between activities this was a great place to come back to and relax. It had everything you could possibly need: towels, kitchen appliances, a few items in the kitchen like foil and ziplock bags jut in case, brochures for things to do in New Orleans. Mr. Miranda was warm and friendly and told us about some local places to eat. Definitely a 5 of 5 stars. Would definitely stay here again!
While we were only at the house long enough to get ready for bed just to wake up & take off again, we did feel comfortable & safe at the house. Michael was a very nice host who greeted us on the first night & gave us some hot spots to check out for dinner and sight seeing. I'd recommend this house if you want an authentic experience of New Orleans life away from the hustle and bustle of the French quarters.
We loved the cottage. Our dogs loved the yard. I loved sitting by the pool and drawing. We liked the neighborhood I am a walker so I felt comfortable walking by myself. We couldn't have found a more convenient location to downtown. Perfect Perfect Perfect. Thank you for a nice stay. Hope to stay again next year.
Staying here just a short drive from the French Quarter and Frenchmen street was so relaxing. Michael gave us great directions for everything we needed and the cottage was so clean and nice with the yard. We loved exploring the area and will be back again
My husband and I stayed at this cottage. We absolutely loved this cottage!! We felt very safe in the area. It was great having a driveway to park in and not have to park on the street or have to pay to park like at some hotels. The cottage is really close to the French quarter. Michael is a great host. Very helpful with suggestions on where to go. Even dropped us off one night so we did not have to take a Uber. The cottage is really clean and we felt right at home!! Has everything you will need. Perfect size for me and my husband. We will definitely stay again with one of Michael's property when we come back to the area.
It's about a 10 minute Uber ride from the Quarter, so you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy a peaceful evening. But close enough to feel like you can grab a quick ride into town for some fun. It's small...but perfect for 2 people. Well decorated and furnished. Decent bed, plenty of hot water, nice towels provided, small but efficient kitchen, full size washer and dryer. All good stuff. The pool shown in the pictures is next door...not on the same property. But there is a quaint little swing and covered patio table and chairs. Our two little dogs enjoyed the small fenced in yard. Michael is an awesome host who checked-in on us and even invited us over for a New Years Eve party he was having. We will definitely check into staying here again on our next trip!
Michael has a very comfortable bungalow that is updated and very clean. It is about 4 miles to the French Quarter. It has a breezeway for relaxing outside. If you are up early you can even hear a rooster in the distance. Nice comfortable bed. Don't forget to ask Michael how the shower turns on! My wife and I had a wonderful time here. Thanks Michael.
Michael was very helpful , place was neat and clean. We will definitely go again and hope to take other couples with us . If you're looking for a place to take friends and listen to great music and party with this is it.
Amazing ! Everything was perfect
Lovely clean apartment with all the amenities. Nice and quiet location if you are in need of respite from the hustle and bustle of the city! Only a 5-10 minute cab drive to the French Quarter though. Would recommend this place to anyone
Mardi Gras Cottage is a lovely little house, and far better than staying in a hotel for less expense. If you want privacy and don't want to stay in the city, this is perfect. No noise and no parking nightmares like the heart of the city. The house is very clean and fully equipped with anything you might need from a coffee maker to a hair dryer. The bed is very comfortable and very clean, also. Michael was a gracious host and also very helpful with suggestions on restaurants, cab and Uber services, and where to go to be close to an assortment of clubs, sights, eateries, whatever we wanted. When I come back to New Orleans, I will be staying here again! Donna from South Carolina, visited October 6-9, 2016.
Cute and clean, we would stay here again.
Our stay couldn't have been any better. The home was suitable for our needs. It was quite comfortable with plenty of space to relax. The decor and books gave it the New Orleans feel to it. Quiet neighborhood. Easy access to Shopping. Michael had great recommendations for places to eat. I highly recommend MeMe's Bar and Grille. Thanks Michael for your hospitality.
Great accommodations for our girls trip to NOLA. Cottage was comfortable and clean. Location was quiet with easy access to all of tourist spots. We all had a great time.
We had no issues staying here. The owner was very accommodating. We paid between $8 and $15 on each uber ride into the city, depending on the time of day and the traffic.
This Cottage was even more than was described in the write up. Very Quiet day and night, very comfortable and even easier to get to down town and the French Quarter than I had thought. We not only would be Happy to stay again, we are hoping that Michael will have room when we can make it back, I think it is going to be a very popular place.
The cottage was amazing. It was roomy enough for my husband and I and very clean. There were little amenities like extra toilet paper and laundry Detergent that helped. It was also far enough away from the excitement to be quiet but close enough that it only took about 5 minutes to get to the French Quarter. Michael was very helpful as well.
My husband and I were here to visit our son. There is nothing bad to say about this cottage! It is clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The outside seating area is perfect for relaxing. The cottage is very convenient to French Quarter. We loved that it was close but out of the hustle bustle. Mike is an awesome host. We loved listening to his stories and he gave us great tips for finding free parking, favorite local restaurants, etc. That's not to say he was overbearing or bothersome. Around enough to make you feel extremely welcome. We will definitely stay here again when visiting our son.
What a great little house, super comfortable, home away from home. We had everything we could need and more. The neighbor Fred is an Uber driver and he was also great. No worries about where to park or driving home after spending a day in the quarter. We hope to be back in the fall when our son graduates from LSU!!!
This is a great rental unit that is clean, secure and close the activities in New Orleans. This is my third time staying at the Mardi Gras Cottage and I plan to return. Much better than hotel, this unit offers spacious accommodations with free parking. I would definitely recommend this unit to others.
Great Location for us as we had plans in both Slidell and the French Quarter so convenient to both. It was also very clean and comfortable. We had a great trip and stay! Thank you for opening your vacation home to us. Terri Beth and Eric Rowland
This is our 2nd stay at this cottage and were very satisfied. Cannot beat the price and it located in a great area. Owners are very accommodating and the unit was clean and comfortable.
This cottage was perfect! It was clean and comfortable . It has a covered patio with a large table and a nice yard. No worries about parking. We always felt safe and secure. I visited with my parents at Christmas and they absolutely loved it! Michael was very helpful.
We stayed here for the week of Thanksgiving when we came back to visit family. I am a New Orleans native and after living there for 30 years I'd say I know the area very well. I specifically chose this property because of its proximity to the LA National Guard barracks and the police substation around the corner so needless to say we felt safe. The yard where the cottage sits is fenced in which is nice. The cottage is nicely decorated and has all of the basic amenities you'd expect in a small rental property. The only issues we had were very minor and not even worth mentioning to the property owner. The deadbolt on the front door was very difficult to lock and unlock with the key (felt like the lock cylinder needed to be lubricated) but from the inside it was very easy. The bed was too soft for our liking (which may be good for others) but the pull-out futon in the living room was comfortable. When opening the refrigerator it hits the oven, and likewise opening the oven the door hits the refrigerator. Again, very minor and seeing how we only went there to shower and sleep it wasn't a big deal. There were two parking spaces, one of which is slightly obstructed by a utility pole but again not really worth bringing up to the property owner. Next time we come in and want to stay in New Orleans we may choose a slightly larger property, also owned by the same person, just to give some extra leg room to sit back and enjoy a daiquiri from the shop right by the highway and watch the included satellite TV. Wi-fi would have been a great bonus to include. Overall a good stay even though the property was slightly smaller than we expected.
This place was absolutely perfect! I wish we could've stayed longer! The owner was very friendly and welcoming! I'm really excited about the pool coming soon and WILL be back in February!! Thank you so much! Love love love this place!
My wife and I stayed at the Mardi Gras Cottage recently and we had a great experience. The owner was very accomodating and friendly. The location was perfect for us, secure, peaceful, and convenient. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed the outside patio and yard area. I will definitely return and would recommend to others.
A delightful little cottage only 10 minutes drive out of New Orleans. Very clean, very comfortable, washing machine and dryer, good kitchen….everything you could want. Drove into New Orleans each day and parked in Frenchmen St…. for free…quite safe…..and a lovely short walk into the French Quarter. Highly recommended.
The cottage was awesome! We actually referred to it as home our entire stay. Spent every night with cocktails on the patio and also every morning with coffee and the laptop/ipad planning the next days adventure! It was so nice to be in a quiet, comfortable spot so close to downtown. The recommendation to visit Frenchman St over Bourbon St was spot on, we did go to Bourbon St seeing as we were in New Orleans but we preferred the market and music on Frenchman much better! Thanks for sharing your place with us, it was wonderful!!!
I really enjoyed the cottage it was clean and nice felt like home. It had me wishing for a place like that. The owner keeps a beautiful and clean residence and is friendly and helpful
Best stay anywhere property owner is great a wealth of information. Property is outstanding we can't say enough good about the whole time. It's time to go home.home and we wish we could stay longer. Boom this property today or one of his other units one bigger and one smaller. We enjoyed the company of all. New Orleans was great also.
We loved our stay, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, close to all the main attraction of the city. Michael and his wife were very helpful, recommending places to visit and restaurants around the cottage. I highly recommend this property, it was perfect. Thank you.
We had an amazing stay. Cottage was great for the 4 of us (2 adults, 18 yo & 12 yo). Anything we needed they were right there to help with. Let him book your tours....he donates his proceeds to Wounded Warrior projects!! Would stay there again & again & again. Thank you so much Michael!!
If you are looking for a property close to the action but is actually a quiet, comfortable place to regroup, then this is the place for you. It has all the conveniences of home (comfy bed, plenty of hot water, complete kitchen for meals. You have your own parking spot and it's easy to go back and forth seeing the sights of New Orleans. This is our go to place when we return!
It is clean, quite, comfortable and hosts awesome. Highly recommend. The patio area is great for morning coffee and evening cocktails.
Our GPS sent us on a totally out of the way route. Michael and his wife came to meet us and guided us to the cottage. Very very nice people. The cottage was sooo nice...tastefully decorated inside and out. Gorgeous lush yard and flowering plants. Easy access to to all attractions and a Walmart nearby for groceries. Thank you Michael and family for sharing your space. Everything you need for a lovely and safe vacation is at the Mardi Gras Cottage. Definitely will stay again.
We absolutely loved our stay with Michael, his wife and their family. The cottage was perfect, clean and was obviously well kept up. The location was fantastic with easy access to the French Quarter and all of the major attractions that the Big Easy has to offer. The hosts were unbelievably hospitable and went out of their way to ensure all of our needs were met and questions answered. I would highly recommend this property for anyone seeking a reprieve from the Quarter. On our last night at this property we were stunned, surprised and delighted with a Crawfish and Shrimp boil. Talk about southern hospitality...don't look any further this property is definately one of the best around. Thanks so much Michael for everything, we will see you next year for sure!
This cottage is just as it is described. Everything you need while your away from your own home. We had a great time. We also appreciated owners help while we navigated The Big Easy! Highly recommend this property.
The cottage was an ideal place for the two of us to stay, very quiet yet only a short drive to the French Quarter. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and informative. We would definitely stay there again if we visited the area.
Cottage was excellent, very cozy and clean. It was a quiet area and shirt drive to French Quarters.
My husband and I stayed for 5 nights about 2 weeks after Marti Gras and it was amazing. The host could not have been friendlier and nice. The cottage was very comfortable and clean! We will definitely stay here again if we come to New Orleans again, which we hope to!!! It was an amazing getaway!
This cozy cottage was clean quiet and very inviting....the owners were sweet friendly and Informative. My next trip out here this is where I will stay!! Great location!!
My friends and I have visited New orleans for Madi gras Festival 2015 and we had such a very great stay in this place over three nights in New Orleans. Not only the place was very clean and fully arranged utilities, but also the hosts were very nice. We had so much fun and wonderful time together. We cooked together and had dinner together. They were such an amazing host I could be able to rely on. One of the most impressive moment for me was when we and the owner went out to madi gras festival together with their RV car, the owner prepared food for us and other guests, they we very very kind and generous. It made me feel like home! I promised you will never regret stay with them!
This was an absolutely awesome place to stay, not only because it was so clean and well appointed but because the owners treated us like family. This was more like a Bed and breakfast than a VRBO. They recommended places to eat and directed us to interesting things to see and do. Considering we were there over Mardi Gras, we needed all the help we could get. I would definitely recommend this accommodation when staying in New Orleans. Thank you again Michael and Oi
Had a great stay while I'm New Orleans owner was very nice and friendly and helpful with things to do and recommended a great place to eat. Nice clean cozy home. Would deff recommend
Great little cozy place to stay and close enough to everything you want to visit but not stay next to lol. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed and more. Easy to get to, plenty of parking space.
I hate to give this place such a great review because I am afraid it won't be available in the future when I want it but it was truly one of the best places I have ever stayed. I would rate this like a 4 star hotel with 5 star cleanliness. The location was great and easy to get to downtown or other areas. The hosts were the nicest and most helpful I have ever had. I would encourage any one to make use of this cottage when visiting New Orleans. There were 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teens) and it worked out perfectly.
The perfect home away from home, with all the necessary amenities, clean , cozy and safe. Perfectly located to all the highlights of New Orleans. Just minutes from the French Quarters, Mercedes Benz Superdome and Bourbon street. Mike and Nikki are the perfect host willing to share their experience and familiarity of the good stuff in the area such as restaurants, attractions and activities. We will definitely recommend this cozy cottage to friends and family. Eric and Veronica. Clermont FL.
My boyfriend and I lucked up on this hidden jewel and what a find it was! From the initial conversation to the time of our arrival Mr. Miranda was available to answer any questions we had regarding our stay at his property. We travel to New Orleans several times a year but we usually stay in the French Quarter so we had some reservations about being too far from the action. However, once we arrived at the location & stepped inside the cottage all of our doubts vanished! It is truly a home away from home. The pictures are very accurate but seeing it in person does it the most justice. Every amenity including a full range stove, microwave, dishwasher, full size refrigerator and a spacious washer and dryer are available right there in that cottage for you! We were very impressed. The place was clean, neat and very modern. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get out of in the mornings while the lazy boy in the living area made it hard to get up from the T.V. The location was very convenient to wherever we wanted to go in the city and just a quick 10 minute drive to the French Quarter as Mr. Miranda said it would be. A list of important numbers such as cabs, hospitals & local eating places were available for us just in case - how thoughtful. There is also a Wal-Mart Super-Center about a mile away for whatever else you may need during your stay. Mr. Miranda is a walking wealth of information regarding this beautiful city and generous with sharing it with you. We also had the pleasure of meeting his beautiful wife, who was just as gracious as Mr. Miranda is, as well as his adorable super friendly four legged babies. Needless to say we fell in love with everything regarding this place. The value for your money, true hospitality, comfort and convenience has us sold on this place. We felt very at home and didn't want to leave. We will DEFINITELY be staying here from now on whenever we visit the city and love it so much that we have already booked it for our next trip back in the upcoming months. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the city. We wish we could give it 10 stars! Until next time....
We were a bit hesitant to book the cottage being we stayed in the French Quarter in the past. But oh how happy we are now that we have. We have new friends in New Orleans now, Michael and Oi. We no longer have to be concerned with parking, loud music all hours of the night while trying to sleep. Big garbage trucks outside our hotel window at 6 am. The Mardi Gras cottage is perfect! Super quiet, and the most comfortable bed ever! We want to thank Oi and Michael for being such great hosts. Sandi and Jeff Daniels
Awesome place to stay plenty of room for my wife, 3yr old and I. Fenced in yard so wasn't to worried to let my son play outside when we were there. It was only ten minutes from the quarter which was great could sleep at night without hearing all the partying. A must for a family with small kids. Wifi, washer and dryer, full kitchen with dishwasher and satellite tv. And no parking fee that alone save us $150 compared to hotel. If your heading to New Orleans and this place is available get it and you won't regret it.
Had a great time staying at Michael's in New Orleans. He exceeded expectations with his hospitality. The location was a short $20 cab ride from the French Quarter (oh, la la) AND the Garden District. We would recommend this property to anyone. Hats off to the Miranda's for an awesome New Orleans experience.
OK, so it has taken me 11 months to write this review. We stayed at this property last Mardi Gras season. The owner lives next door and invited us to a real Louisiana crawfish boil. WOW!!! We met real Cajuns!! The guys who actually go out on the bayous and catch the seafood that gets shipped all over the world. We learned a lot about the wonderful Louisiana culture. It was so much fun, it was actually the high light of our trip. These guys are the best. If it sounds like I am writing an ad for this property it's because I am. And these guys deserve it, they are definitely in the right business. They are super ambassadors for New Orleans. Do yourself a favor, stay here. You will be glad you did! Damian
Heerlijke rustige omgeving, van alle gemakken voorzien. Supermarkt op 5 min en dichtbij new orleans
