Lewis Cottage is located on Birdsong properties just 25 minutes Northwest of Downtown Nashville. Birdsong Properties is 9 private acres located on the banks of Sycamore Creek in Ashland City TN. Lewis Cottage was built in the mid 1900's for the guest of Birdsong Lodge. The 2 bedroom cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or a family weekend away from the hussle & bussle. The newly remodeled kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals for your stay.
Very much in need of repair on all accounts. Mushrooms growing in shower. Leaks. Poor A/C.
This was a great place to stay! The house has tons of character and charm. There is everything you will need for a weekend away. We went into Nashville every day and found that the 30 minute drive was a nice scenic one! This is located in the country, so we were able to see deer and listen to the birds. The king mattress was very comfortable! (Better than home mattress!) Side note: Use caution...the bathroom has little ventilation. We used the bathroom fan and a box fan, but the tiled floor was still super slick after a shower. There is a rug right in front of the shower, but adding another rug would help this issue. I would recommend staying here and would stay again if I'm in the area.
The cottage was adorable. Very clean and had everything we needed for the week. There is also a very nice yard that our dog and daughter loved playing in. It is 20 miles out of Nashville but the drive is easy and worth it. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.
We had a nice stay at the cottage the hosts were very easy to work with they sent us the information on how to access the home how to use it had ample wedding clean comfortable Pleasant stay would rent again
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Country Cottage. It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the big city (Nashville), but close enough to enjoy and get to Franklin, Leiper's Fork and Nashville. It had all we needed to make our stay a comfortable one. We even had a few visits from deer. One morning, they were almost to the hot tub. Nash, our faithful traveling companion, enjoyed walks on the property. Some things that need attention: the hot tub was not serviced before our visit and was quite dirty; there were not outside lights on in the evening anywhere on the property, and turning on the porch lights just brought numerous bugs into the house when we opened the door; since the property is advertised as pet-friendly, it would have been nice if we were made aware of the fact that there was mouse poison set out in two rooms. Not something we wanted our dog to get into. A little attention in the bathroom to the dripping shower and rocking toilet would be an asset. I'm sure the owner's would have fixed these problems if we had brought it to their attention while we were there, but I think these are things that should be part of having the place ready for the renters. Despite these minor glitches, we would stay here again and would recommend the property. It is a lovely, quiet, comfortable area. P.S. Nash and my husband enjoyed the hammock!!
We loved your cottage and it was just what we needed to get away from our busy lives. Cute, cozy and quaint! Small cottage but it fit our family of four perfectly! Loved how the cottage was decorated...I could live there! We went into Nashville one day (American Pickers Museum and Broadway Street was so much fun and only about 25 minutes away) but also took advantage of the surrounding area. We went canoeing/kayaking in Kingston, TN, loved Nashville Shores - great waterpark!, Opry Mills Outlet Mall was perfect on one of our rainy days. So much more to do...we will definitely have to come back. Thank you for renting your cottage to us! We loved it and I highly recommend.
This was the perfect getaway we loved it so much will definitely be staying here again and telling family and friends how cozy and homey the cottage felt. We got to explore the wildlife around us as well as the Cheatham dam and another park in the area. We went downtown Nashville as well, this house was perfect because we felt like we were in the middle of everything we wanted to do. Traffic was not bad 30 40 minutes to everywhere we wanted to go! Deer and rabbits in the back yard daily was an amazing site. Loved it and thank you for letting our family enjoy this beautiful home.
The cottage is absolutely beautiful. The setting is lovely. The mattresses are amazing! The attic mattress is just delicious. I am obsessed with that bed. Now, for the persnickety, the cottage was built in 1912 and is out in the country. Thus, it comes with all of the charm and issues that come with a home of that age in the country (i.e. there were bugs outside, as you'd typically find etc.). The cottage could not be cuter or more beautifully decorated. The cottage is just off of a major road, which is nice for convenience, but you can hear the traffic from the hot tub and front porch. It was a wonderful trip. I could not have been happier.
This was a perfect cottage for couples. The property was gorgeous and would be really cool for a wedding venue! House was clean and beds were comfy. Hot tub was a bonus! Uber was about 30 mins into downtown Nashville. But the little town of Pleasant View has all you need as well.
Peaceful. Jennifer was great to work with!
We enjoyed our stay at Lewis Cottage. The cottage was clean and neat. The proximity to Nashville was perfect for us. We had a wonderful time.
Great place to relax. We will be going back for sure!
We had a great stay, kitchen was stocked with spices with a variety of pots and pans, so if you like to cook it's great. The house was nicely decorated, no one was staying at the main house so it seemed very quit and secluded. if you will be staying in the area I would recommend cozy country cottage, much better then a hotel.
Perfectly clean and beautifully decorated.
The cottage was a little hard to find but the owner Jennifer was very nice and gave us directions from the restaurant that we met our friends at on Friday night and then we found it easily in the dark after our dinner. The cabin is so cozy and light and airy. The furnishings and decor are very pretty and feminine. I could picture a bride and her bridesmaids getting ready in the upstairs bedroom and dressing area. The grounds are very peaceful and lovely and our 2 dogs loved stretching their legs in the yard. The only negative that occurred was the yard man started mowing at 8am Sunday morning and I thought he should have started after we left at 11am. My husband and I wanted to get back in the hot tub that morning but did not feel comfortable doing so with him mowing the grass close to the cottage and with the mower going.... we could not enjoy a quiet cup of coffee on the porch before we left! Otherwise our stay was fantastic and we will stay there again!!
We can't wait to come again!
we did not want to leave the cottage was so relaxing we were up there for a wedding and my birthday and it was nice to come back and relax from all the hustle and bustle and my dog loved watching the deer as she had never seen one before we will definitely be back so beautiful and relaxing and everything u could need was there and very clean i cant not sasy enough has nice and relaxing this cottage was and the bed are amazing to
We spent 4 days, 3 nights at Lewis Cottage over Memorial Day weekend to attend a wedding and celebrate our own anniversary. The property is secluded and beautiful. The cottage itself was clean and well decorated. Everything we needed was provided and it was a short drive into town for groceries and essentials. Getting to Nashville was painless and it was nice to be able to retreat back to this beautiful oasis afterward. The hammock and hot tub were great for relaxation. The upstairs king size bed was super comfortable. The only drawbacks were no fault of the property or owners, but just the nature of a 100 year old property. Things like power outlets being scarce and inconvenient, or the warnings about the plumbing being concerning, and the shower could be updated, but we had no real issues. Overall, it is a wonderful getaway and we would gladly return. Thank you Jennifer for a great weekend!
We had a wonderful stay at the property. The property managers were great and responded quickly with all questions that we had. Service was excellent. I highly recommend this cottage for your stay.
My husband and his buddies enjoyed their weekend away in the cottage!!! Thanks for the bday greeting- he loved it!!! Thanks again!!
Beautiful property to babysit a 2 year old...he and Papa loved playing in the big open backyard where we all saw turkeys in the meadow and where we had a great egg hunt...we so enjoyed the well stocked cottage and having everything we needed plus extras..met the groundskeeper who made certain that everything was working and told us a lot of the history of the area...wish we could have found some dry wood for outside firepit...next time...thanks for making sure the hot tub was working...fun trip
We had an amazing stay for our 1st anniversary. Beautiful property with wildlife. Secluded and private. Everything was as promised. Would love to go back :)
Such a pleasant and beautiful stay in Ashland City. The cottage was absolutely perfect and precious! We were greeted with a personalized message on the chalkboard when we walked in....what a great and personal touch. Thank you!
We stayed for our anniversary and the cottage was a perfect distance from Nashville (about half an hour). We had privacy but close enough to enjoy the city. We brought our dog who loved the property as well. The place was cutely decorated and well supplied. We can't wait to go back!
My husband and I stayed in this great cottage for our 15th anniversary. We found it very comfortable with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Although we did not use the upstairs we did take a peek and found it irresistiblely cute. We did meet the grounds keeper and he gave us a little mini tour of the property sharing some of the history of the area from a locals point of view. We were close enough to Nashville to go into the city and enjoy what it had to offer and when we were done we went back to the cottage to enjoy the quiet of the country. I would highly recommend this place for anniversary or honeymoon and yes even for weddings as they are very set up for that as well and what a wonderful venue that would be!
What a great place! Quiet, peaceful, and a wonderful place to disconnect.
Jennifer was very helpful and the cottage adorable .. country :;yet close to hiking, golfing ,little towns and Nashville . We would book again for sure!
The Lewis Cottage was adorable! The grounds were easy to find and convenient to the highway but on a quaint private drive, a real treasure I didn't expect. We loved the history of the place, it just felt special. Everything you need is provided including fans! I woke up to a small doe in the yard, she seemed curious and came back for several visits. In conjunction with the lodge it would be a perfect place for a family reunion, wedding, or any event with 15-20 out-of-towners. You will not be disappointed with the Lewis Cottage.
Absolutely loved the property. We were greeted by a family of deer on the grounds. House was great! Decor was spot on. The sheets were so soft and comfy. Enjoyed the hot tub!! Loved my family visit and plan to stay at Lewis Cottage again. Thanks Jennifer!
Very nice and privately located comfortable little place in the woods. Convenient to Nashville. Affordably priced. Clean/well stocked with home essentials. Deer walking through morning and evening if your looking, among other animals(rabbit & squirrel). Just an overall very comfortable and cozy get away with romance capabilities embedded in its roots.
The cottage was as advertised. It was a cozy country cottage. It is set off the road in a quiet comfortable setting. Communicating with Jennifer was very easy and it was a pleasure doing business with her. The only things keeping this from a 5 star for me was #1) the dishwasher was filled with dirty dishes when we arrived so we had to run the dishwasher #2) a maintenance guy showed up unannounced to pick up the trash. If he showed up 30min prior it would have been a very embarrassing situation. My recommendation would be to pick-up the trash before the guests arrives OR after the guests leaves. If you must stop in while guests are there a quick heads up would be nice. I must note that neither of these issues are the owners fault and I have nothing at all negative to stay about our experience with them.
This cottage was very picturesque inside & out. The decor is very rustic/well furnished & very fit for away from home living.
We truly loved staying at the Lewis Cottage. Everything we could possibly need was there. The property was very charming and the hot tub was great. While there, we ventured into the small town of Ashland City. There were some nice shops and the Riverview Restaurant was well worth while. I highly recommend this relaxing getaway.
The cottage is absolutely charming down the very last detail. It offers a quiet country stay with lots of room for multiple guests. The cottage offered all the amenities listed on the website, as well as very clean and well maintained. The owners even have a maintenance person to assist with anything needed during the stay. Jennifer was wonderful to work with from setting up our stay and checking in throughout. I couldn't be more pleased with the cozy cottage! Would highly recommend this property to anyone and everyone! GREAT vacation spot!
