Homelands is a charitable trust which provides accessible luxury self catering accommodation in 9 purpose built lodges (Massney, Cardy, Keil, Drummochy, Selkirk, Largo, Lundin, Durham and Emsdorf). The lodges are situated in the picturesque village of Lundin Links overlooking Lundin Links Golf course with open views to Edinburgh over the Firth of Forth.

Lundin Links sits just 12 miles from St Andrews, the home of golf, and a short distance from the East Neuk's rugged coastline and itscharacter filled fishing villages such as Crail, Anstruther, and Pitenweem. Lower Largo and Lundin Links themselves are famed for their links to the original Robinson Crusoe (Alexander Selkirk) whose birthplace in Lower Largo is a short distance from the Lodge. The village features a bar, restaurant, sports club (including tennis courts) and a small parade of shops including pharmacy, butchers, bakers, post office, and general store all within a short distance of the lodges.

The region is famed for its outdoor sports/activities, water sports, history and fresh produce / sea food; served in many of the local restaurants which range from Michelin Starred to world famous and favoured by Royals fish and chips in Anstruther.

Further afield we are an hour from Edinburgh (Scotland's Capital City) and Dundee which houses the Discovery museum and V&A Dundee, Scotland’s first design museum

The lodges have been specifically designed with accessibility in mind and a wealth of features have been incorporated into the designs to ensure they are as accessible as possible, including specialist support equipment/ facilities such as ceiling tracking hoists, a full spacious wetroom, profiling beds, airflow mattress, Clos-o-Mat toilet (depending upon lodge) and riser/recliner chair. We can also provide a range of specialist equipment free of charge on request such as mobile hoists, various shower chairs, a shower trolley, and equipment for people who have a hearing loss. These specialist items must be booked in advance and are allocated on a first come first served basis. This is our third time at Homelands and we will be back. Just an amazing place for us 5 ladies to get together, where our wheelchair bound friend feels so welcome and at home. Lodges are excellent quality with ample space. Amenities for disabled are first class, so clean and wonderful feeling of peace and privacy. Well situated to visit all the East Neuk of Fife. Love it.

We hadn’t been on a holiday as a family for such a long time due to my husbands condition. The facilities at Homelands made this possible and we had such a wonderful time. The location made it easy to visit lots of places nearby and return to a very comfortable and purpose build lodge. The lodge was not only great for my husband but also my 4 grandchildren (ranging from babies to older children). The trip was so great, I have given our GP and neurologist the details of Homelands to pass on to other patients.

Largo was so spacious and had everything we needed both in equipment for our wheelchair using daughter but also around the rest of the house and in the kitchen. Although there was 7 adults in the house we didn’t feel crowded and could all find our own space. Sitting in the well tended garden looking out to sea was so relaxing. The surrounding villages and harbours were beautiful and nearby St Andrews and Dundee full of interest. We will definitely be booking again for next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed a week long stay in May. As a mixed age and ability group there was something for everyone. The kids enjoyed a small park with a playing field and well as a beach all in a very short walking distance. There was a garden space for them to play in too. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Everything was modern and in good condition. It felt spacious even with 8 people and the kitchen had everything we needed. A short distance away is a small convenience store and good bakers/ butchers. Thanks for a wonderful week.

We are a group of 5 who have been friends for over 50 years. One lady has MS and is wheelchair bound and we have found it increasingly difficult to find accommodation for our get together. Thank goodness for Homelands. After a recommendation this is now our second stay and we love it. Perfect for disabled people and so comfortable for us all. Can't wait to come back. Management are wonderful and go out of their way to help.

After a series of difficult family get togethers over Christmas, we decided to look for somewhere where our wheelchair user would be comfy and there would be space for both her and our 2 young grandchildren to be. The staff were very accommodating and removed a large reclining chair which made even more space for children to play and the wheelchair to be used. This Christmas was infinitely better as a result and everyone was very happy.

We've booked this place for a family Christmas that includes a wheelchair user and several neuro-diverse members but my husband I wanted a short 'preview' stay so that we could have a clear idea of what to bring to ensure everyone's comfort and happiness. We were very impressed by the overall spaciousness of the the place, especially doorways and corridors. The 2 accessible bedrooms, wet room and downstairs toilets look great - but the real test will be when we bring our wheelchair user at Christmas. Overall everything was brilliant and we had a cosy and comfy few days. It's by far the best place we've stayed in before. The only comments I'd make are VERY minor in the grand scheme of things: a few more 3 pin sockets in the kitchen and living area would be much appreciated; the lighting in the kitchen was much improved when we discovered that the under cupboard lights were rechargeable though it's still quite dim at the sink; the pasta bowls didn't really fit in the dishwasher; why is the loo roll holder in the upstairs bathroom so far from the loo?

We loved our visit to Homelands. The accommodation was brilliant and well thought out for wheelchair users. The level access, the profiling beds, the hoist, and all of the additional equipment that is available are game changers for our family holidays. Even the little things had been thought of; the little trolley with a washing bowl that was provided in order to make bed washes easier was something we’ve not seen anywhere else. The location is fabulous too. That part of Fife has beautiful countryside, gorgeous beaches and some charming little fishing villages. We will definitely be back next year.
