Stayed Jan 1, 1We found Crossways Cottage very welcoming, clean and in a good location. The extras provided for the dog were an added bonus. It was also helpful to have a private car parking space. The village is very friendly and quiet, with plenty of walks on the doorstep and close to the beach. I would definitey recommend to anyone who is thinking of staying at Winterton-on-Sea.

Stayed Jan 3, 1First time in this cottage, we know the village well so knew its location was good etc. parking was good, nice little garden area enclosed so safe for large and smaller dogs (no grass) . Handy porch/ small conservatory great for coats and boots etc. lounge comfy . Upstairs bedroom has more room than the downstairs one. If 4 adults were staying the ones using the downstairs bedroom would struggle for space. Although we did use that room to sleep we kept our case & clothes in the room upstairs . The stairs are steep winding ones but plenty of hand rails to grab . It is a little tired but it had everything we needed at a good price. We would probably stay there again .

Stayed Jan 1, 1This is my second stay at this property and highly unlikely to be the last. The cottage is in the heart of the village and close to everything. Very comfortable, spacious and well fitted out property. We were lucky to have great weather and were able to make use of the super cute garden. Little Rufus (the sprockerpoo) had his own treats and throws were provided so he could fully enjoy the cottage and make the best of his holiday too.

Stayed Jan 3, 1Second visit to Crossways and once again it was perfect. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. Radiator on the stair wall made a lot of difference keeping it warm and cosy. The Christmas Tree gave it a lovely festive feel - we didn't want to leave. Hope to be back again soon

Stayed Jan 3, 1This is the second time we’ve stayed here. The bedrooms both have good sized beds and the property has a secure garden for the dogs. We stay out of season and so it’s lovely and quiet in the village.

Stayed Jan 1, 1This was our second stay at Crossways (last year, same dates) in Winterton, allowing our puppy Rosie her first visit to the beach. While the weather was not as good as last year, the cottage was. A comfortable, generally well appointed cottage with modern amenities a very short walk from a top dog friendly beach, which out 6 month old puppy loved. If you don't know, Winterton on Sea is a fantastic little village between Great Yarmouth and Cromer, It is the most dog friendly place I've ever been to - we have had 5 visits since 2015. This is a great escape IF you have a dog.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Lovely cottage right in the middle of the village just a few minutes from the beach. Really comfortable and very dog friendly. The pretty walled garden is a delight to sit in and the dog shower is a great addition. We all loved it! It's the second time we have stayed at Crossways and I'm sure we'll be back

Stayed Jan 1, 1Great location for the lovely sand dunes and beach , fish shop over the road , we only need one portion for Two of us, the inner sliding door doesn’t seem too lock ,it was the same last year, the Two seater settee is sagging now and was uncomfortable at times for me, but that’s too be expected in rental properties I feel, nice garden too sit in but there are now 3 Hollyhocks plants which dominate the garden and has lots of Bees buzzing around them, we were aware of them but small children might not be,shud be cut down really coz I can see children playing will get stung, but we liked it there.

Stayed Jan 1, 1We have stayed several times in Crossways Cottage with our dog, and we absolutely love it! Very comfortable layout, spotlessly clean, and so handy for the beach and amenities. Also the seating area in the garden is a boon, with comfortable chairs for reading. We certainly hope to return again before long.

Stayed Jan 3, 1Winterton cottageis located in the centre of the village a few minutes walk away from the sandy beach and fantastic coastal paths running through the sand dunes. The cottage had everything you would require including towels for your dog and outside wash down. As we were there for only 3 days we explored the surrounding area as much as we could with most attractions within 20 minutes. We especially loved the pub in the village ( a 2 minute walk) The fish and chip shop and the convenience stores were very much appreciated. We found the area so friendly striking up conversations where ever we went. The dog scene here is wonderfull with most people walking their dogs on the dunes. Had a great time and would totally recommend to anyone who wants a few days enjoying beautiful scenery and friendly locals with their dog.

Stayed Mar 3, 2025Wow! Just about says it all. We wanted a home for a short stay to try and find the place we both met fifty four years ago. We didn't realise when booking this Cottage that we were only a mile or so away. The cottage is beautiful. It was clean and tidy, had everything we needed for our holiday. The village also had everything we needed and our Dog absolutely loved the walks and the beaches as did we. Could not recommend this Cottage and Village highly enough, have already advised family and friends. We had the best time (and luckily the weather) Would not hesitate in staying here again. Loved it! Would also mention Sarah who was so helpful. We were enjoying it so much she managed to arrange one more nights stay. Thank you.

Stayed Jan 1, 1We've stayed in Winterton numerous times and are absolutely delighted to have found this gem. It’s perfectly located for the dunes, beach, great pub and the best fish and chip shop! The cottage really felt like home from the minute we got there and was lovely and clean and comfortable. We will definitely try and book again for our next visit. Rosie our dog was very happy there too!!!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was our second stay at Crossways which says it all. The location is perfect, in the centre of the village and within a few minutes walk from the wonderful sand dunes and beach. The cottage is ideal if you have a dog, the throws provided for the sofas were a nice touch though I always take plenty of my own! Poppy’s tea rooms, the Fisherman’s Return (both dog friendly) and Winterton Fish and Chips can all be recommended. A.ready planning our next visit!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A stunning cottage. Owners were super helpful and texted as soon as we were able the access the property which was before 4pm. Did get the wow factor on arrival. So cosy, lovely decor, very homely. Even the shower curtain is washed and new for each new guest. Lots of lovely extras, dog bowls, blankets, hairdryer, clothes washing supplies. (Didn’t have to pack loads or bring home lots of dirty washing!) Box of Thorntons and milk on arrival to kick start us off. Lots of storage within the property. Plenty of spaces for hanging clothes and storing bags. Loved the coat stand in the conservatory and the underfloor heating was a bonus in there for wet dog towels and damp shoes. Will be purchasing a boot tray for home! We had a top box on our car but the car port was no problem at all if we drove in front first. The road is pretty quiet and the property has a mirror so we can see oncoming traffic. Plenty of space under the carport though if you wanted to remove it and store it there. Would thoroughly recommend. Stairs are quite steep (it’s a cottage after all) but there are plenty of hand rails and sensor lights to help, especially at night. My dad who struggles on his legs chose a different property with a walk in shower but thought he may have been better here with the downstairs bedroom and toilet and well supported stairs. Poppies was lovely for breakfast, the locals were super friendly and we had some nice chats. They are clearly and rightly keen to preserve the coast line and understand the dangers so out of respect, don’t let your children run up and down the beach sand walls. There are signs to help. All in all a super find with everything we wanted! Lost count of the amount of seals we saw. Thanks to the 2 Sarah’s for being so warm and welcoming!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Thank you for a great mini break (and the chocies/dog biscuits!), you made us all feel very welcome. Such a lovely clean quiet cottage with all the home comforts. Would highly recommend to all, dog or non dog owners! The owners of the cottage had put a great deal of thought into the facilities, much appreciated. Perfect location for walks on the dunes, beach or a visit to the excellent local chip shop (who cater for all, GF/Vegan).
