Stayed Feb 14, 2023For people who love beautiful grounds and like nature and beautiful sights this is the place for you. The beach isn’t a great swimming beach but is wonderful for watching the sun rise and enjoying the beach without a crowd of people. The lagoon is fabulous! Beautiful fish calm turquoise waters. The room is small but has absolutely everything a single or couple could need for cooking a meal or adventuring. It’s small with very little light which is sufficient if you plan to spend most of your time outside enjoying the tropical beauty all around. Great pool as well and the host was so helpful and accommodating. Such a wonderful experience and so many beautiful sights to see in every direction.

Stayed Feb 15, 2024We really enjoyed our stay at Cecilia's studio in Sirenis near Akumal. The unit was small, but very clean, new, and nicely furnished with everything you need. We enjoyed walking and exploring the area including the snorkeling lagoons and beach. Snorkeling at the beach was good on calm days. We did an all inclusive day pass one day at Grand Sirenis and enjoyed it. There's an OXXO convenience store close by that actually had more options than most convenience stores. It would be a good idea to stop at a grocery store on the way to condo from airport as there isn't one nearby. We enjoyed the quietness and how few people were around especially at the beach and were fine walking almost a mile to get there. If you don't like walking or if you want to explore outside the neighborhood I'd recommend renting a car. Cecilia was an excellent host always quickly responding to questions. We'd definitely stay here again if we return to Sirenis.

Stayed Feb 6, 2023The room was just as advertised. It is just one room and a bathroom, but that is all we needed. We spent so much time exploring the area and always felt safe and secure. The neighbors we met were all very nice. We would definitely come back if the chance retured.

Stayed Dec 18, 2022I spent 5 nights here to be near family staying at Serenis. I arrived after dark which likely explains some difficulties in finding it/checking in. It’s a very small studio with only one small, narrow window just beneath the ceiling so I began to feel a bit claustrophobic after a few days until I began to leave the door open. The pool area is so lovely and tropical with a mama and baby monkey living in the tree over the pool. Ample shade, good lounges, the entire patio area is very inviting and extremely peaceful. Very nice. And the best beach towels- huge and thick. I didn’t have a car so I had a bike delivered and enjoyed the long rides to the beach and surrounds. Everything was clean and neat and overall very efficient and well appointed . It’s a really good deal for the price. Unfortunately, my stay was catastrophically ruined by the unbelievably harsh and possibly illegal treatment I received from the Grand Serenis staff. I filed reports with the Tourism Police as well as the US Consulate- all to no avail thus far. I was only able to spend 2 days with my family, one of which was a great all day tour of the ruins, snorkeling and cenotes. But as for those guest passes at the resort: BEWARE. I’m not white and was definitely not welcomed there. Followed by security, repeatedly asked to prove I’d paid for the pass, holding my passport hostage for 2 days until I finally relented and paid for passes for days I was no where near the resort. I asked over and over to speak with a manager and was denied. I had a letter from the tour company with time stamped photos proving that I was not on their property -they wouldn’t even entertain it. I can’t condemn them strongly enough, I’m telling you. I’ve been black for 70 years but I’ve never been treated like that ever in my life. And then they banned ME from ever staying there, lol. It was all so surreal, being treated like a criminal and forced to pay twice the regular price for passes I didn’t need /use in order to get my passport back. Cecellia was incredibly kind and tried her best to help , right from the beginning. She’s one of the best hosts I’ve had in the 30+ years that I’ve been renting private spaces. She’s wonderful. Thanks so much!

Stayed Mar 15, 2022Exactly what you see is what you get. No frills. Which worked fine for us, we are pretty easy and go with the flow. Hot water went out for 5 days ( over the weekend) cold showers were unavoidable but Cecilia was very apologetic and we were compensated, which greatly made my review more favorable. Directions that are in condo for getting around property are not very helpful. We needed a point of reference, “you are here” kinda thing. Verbal directions, turn right at second round about….and so on. Cecilia answered any questions promptly. You definitely need transportation, bikes would be much appreciated. We were able to get around easily with Collectivo (public shared taxi) just wait on the side of the road, they will pick you up and drop you off almost anywhere. Very reasonable rate. Worked for us may not be for everyone.

Stayed Apr 12, 2021The location is within the Sirenis resort. It is close to two All Inclusive resorts Sirenis and Bahia Principe. A Day Pass at Sirenis or Bahia is about $40 and includes breakfast, lunch and drinks. The host, Cecilia, is very helpful in giving you information about the place, the restaurants and beaches nearby. She answers your questions right away. Best way to reach her is by text or phone. The room is big enough for two people. It was clean. It has a fridge, two burners and a microwave oven. It has a safe, which is not listed in the Add. It also has beach chairs if you want to take them to a public beach. There is laundry outside your room. There is no cleaning or changing the towels during your stay. If you want that, you Cecilia can arrange it for a small fee. The only draw back is that the room has absolutely no view. It has only one small window that is high up, close to the ceiling, so you cannot see anything out. It's just for light. There is no deck or balcony either.
