Very lovely home, right in the middle of everything we wanted to do! Quiet, plenty of room for us. Chris was quick to answer any question we might have had. Had no troubles at all. Only suggestion is it needs a little better driveway sign, we drove right past lol. But we SAW MOOSE!!!!!!!!! Great time thanks Chris hope we left it in as good a shape as when we arrived!
House was beautiful. It has everything you could need on a trip. Enjoyed the hot tub.
The chalet was everything we hoped it would be and more. Very accessible, in a great part of Maine and with everything we needed. The hot tub was the perfect extra! Communication with the host was smooth and we had zero issues. Will definitely be back!
A great place to stay! Close to town- was nice to explore some of the local hikes and trails during the spring!
This place is perfect for family(s). Very spacious and plenty of room for lots of people. Perfect location for Sunday River. 15 minutes away. Hot tub was perfect working condition. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking meals. Can’t think of anything more needed for a week of skiing. If you are looking for the Ritz this isn’t your place. But if you are little more chill this place is more than perfect.
The biggest issue was that it was listed as .1 miles from Bethel center- more like 3-4 miles. We stayed +3 weeks, cutting our stay short a week: there was a mouse in upstairs storage area, kept us awake 10 days. We referred owner to an exterminator as he didn't have one- still not visited by time we left. Not clean at all- dog poop bags scattered outside, along with trash. Kitchen itself was fine but spartan for utensils, pots etc. Wrote the owner before, during, and after stay. Was not always timely. This is a CAMP- make sure to drive by and understand setting before renting.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very cozy and well appointed chalet. The hot tub was a nice bonus.
We had a wonderful family get away with our adult children. The home was cozy and suited out group perfectly. The location was perfect to access skiing and winter nature hikes. We’ll be back.
We loved our stay.. The house is very comfortable, with a well-supplied kitchen, a nice woodstove, comfortable beds, etc. We loved the hot tub and the location too--we took some great walks up the road. It's a perfect, easy place for a ski weekend. Thank you!
Great place to relax and unwind. The new kitchen is beautiful, the woodstove keeps it toasty, the bed was surprisingly comfortable and town is close by! The jacuzzi was clean and perfect temp. Would definitely stay again and bring friends! We found some really good movies and had a great time.
My friends and I loved this place. There ended up only being 3 of us, but this place can fit a lot of people. Very clean and well maintained. Thanks to the owner Chris, for renting to us. Would certainly recommend, great location too.
It was a very clean, warm house. Everything you need is there for your dining, listening, and relaxing stay. The hot tub was clean and only steps away from the living room door. Thank you so much for sharing this gem with us!
We stayed at the Chalet for a ski + work trip and could not have picked a better spot! We hit a hiccup with a faulty modem and Chris was SO helpful and made sure the phone company came out to get us fixed up ASAP 10/10 would recommend!
This is great house for being with family and friends. It's super clean and tidy. Very comfortable space. Close To Sunday River. Great time all around!
The property was very easy to find - despite being well off of the main road (which is a good thing!). The driveway was plowed and had three dedicated parking spots with room for one or two more cars if needed. The property and general area are very quite. The house was as advertised. Well stocked kitchen, two full bathrooms, 3.5 bedrooms, and basement with TV/game room and laundry. The wood burning stove is easy to use and VERY effective. The hot tub works great - but should be cleaned more frequently. An easy and scenic 15 minute drive to Sunday River. Not a luxury chalet, but it is priced right for what it is. My family and friends really enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful time staying at this property, mountain access was great, got to take our dog, and the hot tub was awesome!
Fantastic and quaint property, very comfortable and clean. We were able to bring our 2 dogs who enjoyed the yard and snow! Chris was great and very quick with communication. Highly recommend!
My stay in Bethel was great! The home was lovely, inviting, and pleasant to lounge around in. Everything was very clean and easy to find when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with both essentials and cookware. The bedrooms were comfortable for everyone. Communications with Chris were easy and he was great about making sure everything was set before we arrived.
Easy to get to, simple check-in process, lovely place that was clean and had a well-stocked kitchen. Enjoyed the peace and quiet and the hot tub immensely.
Stayed at this property with my family of 5 as well as another family of 3 and there was plenty of room for all of us. House was very clean and modern. Close to Sunday River and just under an hour to Santa's Village. Hot tub was a nice amenity to relax and unwind. Highly recommend staying here.
Trees surrounding property gave us privacy and peace. The deck hot tub was great. Highly recommend this place. Chris is a great host!
We had a great summer stay in Chris’ home. I have to say the hot tub was one of our favorite things about this home! It has all you need and we are even considering staying in the winter when we come to ski at Sunday river!! Chris is a great host!
We enjoyed the privacy and the location. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed being able to barbeque. A couple things could use attention: * hot tub water was not clear * a fly swatter or two would have been helpful * the handrail on the steps to the basement needed to extend all the way to the top of the stairs. The stairs are steep and we considered this a safety issue.
Property as advertised and Owner was super nice and responsive to queries. Great value for the space and we enjoyed it!
This house was great for our two families of four- kids in the bunk room and adults in soft, comfy beds. We had to do some shoveling to get wood from outside for the wood stove and use the grill but otherwise everything was easy and relaxing! Well equipped kitchen and location just 15 minutes from South Ridge lodge. We had some user error with the hot tub (accidentally turning the heater off?) but Chris was very responsive and we figured it out. Thank you- we had a great week!
We were a group of 8 people and had a wonderful time at this property for a weekend of skiing and snowboarding at Sunday River. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a day of skiing and the kitchen was very well equipped for large groups. Please do read the document the owner sends you and note that the property does not provide towels .
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bethel Chalet. We slept 6 guests comfortably. The hot tub was an absolute treat after a long day of skiing. Sunday River was only about a 15 min drive. There were enough utensils and cookware to make dinner multiple nights. Thank you Chris!
Great location in easy proximity to Sunday River. Place was extremely clean and as communicated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One concern, and this is more of a watch out so the owner can address, the entrance was extremely icy upon arrival which could be quite dangerous when arriving at night.
Great stay at the chalet. This was our first time staying at the chalet. 10 mins from the mountain, the chalet was a great place to return to after skiing. We used the hot tub which was so nice and relaxing. The wood stove left us warm but the chalet was plenty warm without using the stove. The chalet is not anything fancy or updated but the beds were comfortable and everything was clean and neat. We shared this place with another family and the common areas (living room and dining room) were great for coming together (8 people) to eat, play games and watching movies. We would certainly rent this property again. Great, no-frills sort of place close to Sunday River.
Cabin is cozy and clean. The hot tub makes it! We had a nice family week there. Only 15 minutes from Sunday River. We were blessed with 12” of Fran snow. Only negative was plow guy never showed up to plow us out so we had to depend on a neighbor to use his snowblower so we could get out to ski. I would recommend bringing some throws for the couch.
We enjoyed a reunion weekend with friends at the Bethel Chalet! Chris was responsive and flexible, and happy to answer questions as needed. We didn’t realize when making our reservation that we would need to bring some basic items (toilet paper, soap, etc.) or that we would need to heat the home with the wood stove. However, we were easily able to access a store to buy what we needed, and really enjoyed our stay. The scenery is so beautiful, especially in the Fall!
Enjoyed our stay at the bethel chalet which was conveniently located for hiking in the white mountains. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and quiet area the house was located in.
We had a nice experience. The property was as described and big enough for 10 of us and our two dogs.
Had a great stay we all enjoyed it
This was a great spot for a weekend get away in the summer. Checking was a breeze, we made hamburgers on the grill for dinner and chilled in the hot tug at night. On Saturday we were able to use the fully stocked kitchen to make breakfast and headed out to Frenchman’s hole for a swim and picnic and then spent the afternoon lazily floating down the river in a tube rented from Bethel Outdoor adventure all to come back to house and enjoy Kababs and an evening chilling in the hot tub.
The chalet was nice and roomy. It had a the amenities of home. We stayed on a rather warm week in the Summer. The up stairs bedroom got a little warm. You do have to sweep the deck daily or you will track pine needles everywhere. We were very happy with our stay. We are considering going back next year to make some more memories.
The location is great and the proximity to the mountain and the town of Bethel was great. The proximity to snowmobiling was also good. Hot tub was great and nice at the end of the day.
A group of friends booked for skiing. About 5 minutes drive from Bethel. 5 from Mt Abraham and 10 from Sunday River. Chris was great.Hot tub a great addition although the weather was so cold we rarely used it, instead relaxing in one of the many friendly local bars.A fantastic location, deer literally came to the door. House was clean, full of character and we'll appointed. Nice new kitchen. The wood burner was wonderful. We'd all recommend it! Great for friends or families alike. Realistically 4 separate rooms. Ideal for two couples and kids with spare landing room and big sofas for extra guests.
Was good for kids!!
The property was fine, although we didn’t realize we needed toilet paper and had to rush out. The only niggle were that the beds were very, very soft. If you like that it is fine, but too soft for our backs. The location is fine, but to be noted it is not in walking distance of Bethel, that being said, it is a five minute drive and easy enough. Plow guy was great! I had shoveled some of the snow that the town trucks had plow over the end of the driveway and stopped for breakfast. The plow guy came right as I was resuming and even asked us to move our car to make sure the job was done so as not to block our car in. Extremely considerate! Chris responded to inquiries in a fast and timely manner and getting in was easy. We spent nights watching James Bond with the whole family- precious time! A fabulous vacation.
We stayed here over Christmas week and the home was perfect for our family. Only 15 minutes from Sunday River and a few minutes from the town of Bethel. Loved the space the house provided with three bedrooms and plenty of beds. The hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing. Chris was a huge help, responding to any questions we had within minutes. And a huge bonus, the kitchen was renovated just days before our stay...a beautiful surprise. Highly recommend for a family or two.
This place was perfect for a large group. The layout provides plenty of space for people. The house was clean and had everything we needed. It is a couple miles from the downtown/Bethel Inn area and sits on a nice private lot.
We went in the fall to see the foliage the house is a few miles outside of Bethel, and in a great location. The house matches the pictures very well and all the equipment in the house was in working order. The hot tub was a nice addition after our daily adventures.
We had a great great time there. Plenty of space for our family vacation. There is plenty of space for 10 comfortably. We had a heat spell during our summer vacation so it was a bit uncomfortable for all with no AC. Thankfully, there were room fans provided in all the bedrooms and a nice ceiling fan in the main living area to make it bearable. The basement living area and rec room were nice and cool as can be expected. I would definitely recommend to my friends.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Bethel Chalet. It was nice and clean and would stay here again if we travel to Bethel again.
The week we stayed in Bethel has been one of my best experience in Maine. The cabin we rented had plenty of privacy yet was within 10 minutes to anything we needed. The people in Bethel are very friendly and helpful. When we decide to go back to Maine this will definitely be a place I will go back too. Thank you Chris for allowing us to stay at your place.
This was a good choice for a weekend ski trip to Sunday River Mountain. We were only 15 minutes away from the mountain and all the amenities we needed were provided to us. The kitchen is a full kitchen and comes with all the dishes and cooking tools we needed for our stay. I would highly recommend this place.
If you are looking for a great family retreat after a day on the ski slopes or cross country ski-trails, the Bethel Chalet is perfect. With space spread out over three floors - the cabin has plenty of room for a large family and/or friends to relax, cook, nap, play games and enjoy a delicious outdoor hot tub under the stars. The main floor wood stove is perfect to take off the chill, the kitchen is well appointed and two full bathrooms are plenty for a crowed. We've gone back year after year because the Chalet is a 10-15 min drive to Sunday River, Mt Abram and local cross country ski locations - but far enough away to minimize the distractions and noise of ski resort nightlife. If quiet relaxation is high on your list, this place is perfect.
Originally we had some trouble finding a place that would fit 10 people, but then I stumbled across Bethel Chalets online and found it to be a great fit! Only 15 mins from Sunday River made it for an easy commute to the mountain in the morning, I believe Mt. Abrams was only 10 mins max from this house as well-- but we only went to Sunday River. Chris was easy to work with and very responsive. Driveway fit 4 cars comfortably, and though we only had 10-- we could have fit a couple more if needed with the pull out couch. Had a great porch with a hot tub and a fireplace in the living room was great to come back to after a day at the mountain. Exactly what we needed long weekend ski trip with friends!
Quiet area but close to all attractions and great restaurants, Beautiful chalet ! wish I could move in ! Must visit MNT BLUE state park and the sunday river brewery.....will return
The home was clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was awesome and we enjoyed the game room. We will rent from Chis again. Easy and enjoyable. One of the best family vacations we had with Sunday River just down the road!
We took a quick family vacation before Christmas at to Bethel and Sunday River. The snow was a little pitiful but the charm of Bethel and the great cabin made up for it. The cabin is tucked back in the woods but is also located close enough that we didn't feel like our whole vacation was spent driving. The hot tub was great after a day of skiing! We will definitely be back!
Three teenagers, no snow and no internet...it was perfect! The cabin is in a beautiful setting so close to great trails and majestic scenery. Our family enjoyed the great outdoors by day and the hot tub and board games at night! We all enjoyed cooking an entire Thanksgiving dinner together with minimal packing because the cabin had all of the amenities we needed. This is a beautiful cozy cabin to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy life. We look forward to returning and highly recommend it!
4 of us spent 2 nights in The Bethel Chalet earlier this month and all really enjoyed it. It was a short drive to Grafton Notch State Park and only about an hours drive to Mount Washington in NH. The place was clean and really spacious! Everything was in working order and Chris made the booking process really easy. Would highly recommend!! Thanks again!
We are a group of friends that get together each year for a ski weekend, this year we chose Sunday River and Mount Abram and stayed at the Four Seasons Chalet in Bethel, the chalet served our needs perfectly. We especially liked the large dining room table, cathedral cieling in the living room and large hot tub to soothe our muscles after a day on the slopes. I highly recomend a stay here for anyone planning on skiing Sunday River or Mount Abram.
We rented this home in Feb. 2015. It was exactly what we were looking for. It was a nice surprise to see brand new flooring throughout the entire home. We had two families (4 adults, 7 kids) and there was just enough room. The hot tub was an added bonus after a day on Sunday River, which was only 15 or so minutes away. I would love to stay here again.
We rented the Bethel Chalet this past New Year's week (Jan 2014) - the second time we've rented this cabin for a week with our family. Tucked in the Bethel woods, this cabin is very spacious for 8-11 folks and a short 15 min drive to Sunday River Mountain and three nearby x-country ski groomed trails. Very easy to come and go easily. Kitchen fully equipped to meet all our home cooking needs, play room downstairs gave the kids a place to watch movies or play fuzzball while the adults enjoyed the wood stove and outdoor hot tub under the stars, a real treat to relax muscles and warm up after a long day at the mountain. Three bedrooms, loft and basement play room gave everyone lots of space - one large family or two small families can easily share without tripping over each other. Cabin very clean when we arrived and fully supplied with towel, sheets, quilts, etc. Owner was very responsive in dealing with an unexpected power outage (that affected other houses too) and used his muscle to get Maine Power Co to get back on within a few hours. Outages rarely happen but we were impressed with his response! Absolutely no complaints. Highly recommended for families, couples, friends that want to enjoy outdoors and spend time with each other at the end of the day to just relax! Would not recommend for families with small children - during winter months - where kids are not accustomed to wood stoves and hot tubs. But if you are beyond that parenting bucket, 100% recommend.
Very nice log cabin with plenty of room for families with children. The chalet was well furnished but I found it disorganized. The kitchen cabinets have everything scattered and just thrown in without any thought. Getting something from these cabinets was a project because pot, pans, covers and glassware were just tossed in. Free cabinet space was not available because of the disorganization. The throw rug in the upstairs bath was very dirty. Dust on the dressers in the bedrooms. I concluded that housekeeping services were not monitored. Chris was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. Definitely an asset. No internet or WiFi was very inconvenient.
Great place! Very spacious and well kept. The hottub was a major highlight. Booking etc. was easy and efficient. Highly recommended.
The Chalet was perfect for our ski getaway. Close to the mountain, comfortable, well maintained, and spacious. The hot tub was wonderful! Thanks Chris.
Hi Chris, The chalet was very comfortable and well-maintained. The outdoor deck, hot tub and gas grill are perfect for summer entertaining. We enjoyed our stay very much and so did Damon, our 16-year old Lab/Boxer mix. Thanks again for your hospitality!
Our ladies' hiking group thoroughly enjoyed staying at Bethel Chalet! Had everything we needed- just brought our food and hiking boots! Many excellent hiking opportunuities nearby.
Hi Chris, Thanks you for sharing your lovely chalet with us. It gave us an opportunity to spend a wonderful week with family and friends, and attend a beautiful wedding at Sunday River. The accommodations were great and the hot tub felt wonderful. Jackie from Lewiston, ME
This chalet was great. Only 15 minutes to Sunday River made it very convenient.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the the Bethel Chalet. Although it is an older home, it is well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms updated. It was very convenient to Bethel and Sunday River. We would definitely stay here again.
