This is an open concept tiny cabin with one bath, limited food preparation (microwave and mini frig), and a queen bed. The cabin is about 13 x 24 with a front porch. This sits adjacent to a rustic 2BR 1BA cabin on the same 9.5 acres. It is bordered on two sides by TVA land. Can hike through the TVA land to the river (should be in good shape, the hill is steep), or take the paved road in front of the property. Has access via walk, hike, bike or drive to top of South Holston dam, Osceola Island and the weir dam at the trailwaters of the trout famous South Holson River.
This is referred to as "my happy place". The adjacent TVA wooded property invites you to explore, walk through the vales, hike down to the river or sit and enjoy. Clear nights reveal stars and constellations amid the occasional owl hoot or geese honking overhead to the nearby river. During dawn and dust deer can be seen passing through the pasture like fields. On rainy days a flock of turkey will wonder single file across the pasture like area to feed on the mowed field. A great place to enjoy a morning cup of Keurig generated coffee, Relax, take a deep breath, enjoy. Let your creative processes launch into orbit or catch up on the sleep you missed prior to you arrival. Or for the fisher people, grab your gear and race to the river to catch your trout.
Great for fly fishermen, in season or relaxing and enjoying the out of doors. could be an artist or writer's retreat or a pleasant place to meet family or friends.
There is limited food preparation area, so an outdoor grill is available.
Cabin was in a great location, not far from river or lake with plenty of trails around. Super cozy on the inside and perfect for a relaxing trip! Host was great to work with and did not have any problems.
I had a great stay with my dog. The place was quaint and the weather allowed me to spend time on the porch. The kitchenette had all the utensils you need and there is a counter-top oven that I even baked a pizza in; as well as a microwave. There are some barking dogs in one of the neighboring houses that makes it not as silent of a retreat at times.
I'm so thankful we stumbled upon this little gem. Had it not been for the location of this place, we wouldn't have stumbled upon the awesome dam & weir system just down the road. We got some of the most amazing pictures.
Nice quiet location and clean cabin
Fantastic location for fishing the S. Holston. The accommodations exceeded my expectations.
Very nice and quiet. I will definitely recommend to others.
We came to fish South Holston Lake for a weekend tournament. This place was perfect 10 minutes from the boat ramp, plenty of area for a boat and an outside outlet to charge your batteries. This cabin has everything you need. We will definitely be back.
Nice little cabin at a good price, location was quiet and peaceful, away from everything. Clean and comfortable.
My gf and I enjoyed our 2 night stay here leading in to the weekend. It is in close proximity to Bristol and to some incredible hikes!
The cabin was very clean, super quiet, and had everything we needed. The area was beautiful. We saw deer and heard owls at night. There is good wifi, plenty of hot water, and a small but perfectly functional kitchen. There is even a tv with free movies and tv shows! The host is very friendly and easy to get in touch with. We absolutely loved our time here.
Great place to stay. Perfect little cabin in the woods. Roomy and comfortable and super clean! We were able to walk around the property in the woods. Even came across a deer the last day of our stay. Right down the road from the Dam and some great hiking trails! John was great gave us some great options to hike and see while there.
My dogs and I had a fantastic stay at the cabin. The space was cozy and comfortable and well appointed with everything I needed. Plenty of hot water. The electric outdoor George Foreman grill was great for cooking. The grounds were open and wonderful for the dogs to run around and there were nice trails nearby for hiking. I have family in Bristol and JC and the drives to both were easy. The cabin felt wonderfully secluded yet it is close to shops, etc... really a wonderful place to stay..
Great location if you want fish.
The cabin is close to walking trails and fishing. The nearby dam is beautiful. Bristol wasn’t too far away so we were able to go in for lunch downtown. The cabin was very nice and had everything that we needed. It has a toaster oven, a grill and a hot plate so you could cook if you wanted to. A big plus was that it was dog friendly and very peaceful.
We loved the little cabin. We had everything we need, the location was perfect for us, and it felt like a world away.
We really enjoyed staying here. It was quiet and peaceful, good for some rest and relaxation. It was within walking distance to a picturesque park where we walked our dogs. Perfect for the weekend of hiking we had planned. 10/10, definitely plan to stay again.
We planned to spend most of our time outdoors. This was perfect little place to rest our heads at night and watch a movie before bed. More amenities than expected, including wine glasses and pots and pans. It was clean and welcoming. John was very communicative and helpful with all of my questions. It was perfect for what we wanted. We will be back!
We had a great stay. The cabin is clean and had more amenities than we expected. We wish there was a king size bed but the queen bed was very comfortable . Our 1st morning we made sausage, biscuits and gravy and hash browns! The area is beautiful. On the property we saw a rabbit and some turkey. Can’t say enough about beauty of the area. We hope to be able to stay again!!
Second time here. It was amazing. We will definitely be back again and again
My mom and I visited John's tiny cabin for a long weekend in August. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities that we needed for our three- night stay. It was quiet and secluded, and wonderful to getaway from everything, but also a short drive into Bristol for restaurants and shops. The cabin was also in a great location for hiking and exploring the surrounding area, and a 2-hour drive to the Smoky Mountain National Park. Highly recommend! We will definitely return!
this place was just what we needed to get away
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to this cabin. The accommodations are suitable for 2 people, the cabin is clean, and well stocked. The bed is comfortable and, in the evenings, enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to nothing but the sounds of nature. The cabin is close to Weir dam and the South Holston River. We cannot wait to get back and explore the area!
Perfect place to stay while fishing on south Holston.
1st time renting on vrbo. The cabin was more than we expected. Our time there was amazing close to everything. Perfect for just sitting on porch and relaxing. The owners are amazing people. Will definitely be going back very soon.
The cabin was great for myself for a short weekend of fishing on the Holston. A great location to the river access within two minutes from the cabin. It was quiet and clean
