Great place to stay for a getaway definitely recommend
We really enjoyed this quaint little cabin in Indian River. It was a great location, right off of the Sturgeon River and right by I-75. I would recommend this cabin.
Perfect property close to everything, including I-75, but hidden with rustic surroundings.
The cabin is adorable, very well organized, everything you need for your stay is there, loved the river cabin decor, walkable to town and the river is amazing. I would highly recommend it!
Very clean and nicely decorated. We loved the owls! Thank you for sharing. Close to anything outdoors that you can think of.
Cabin was clean and owner was easy to work with.
The back yard and the river are cool, but so it swinging on the 3 season porch. I definitely would go back. It was great.
This cabin is the perfect “up north” retreat. Quaint, cozy and comfortable! Nestled on the river. So close to the lake also. Easy access. Would definitely stay here again!
I have been going to River Bend Cabin for three years now. I absolutely love Indian River and Burt Lake. The location of the cabin is perfect. It it within walking distance to shops and the State Park. The cabin is clean and cute! I love sitting on the porch and reading. In the evenings you watch the river and all the birds that use it. Thanks Ana for being an great host and sharing this little get away!!
Great little cabin on the sturgeon river! It was perfect for our family of 6. Location was great, close to lots of activities and freeway. We made a few trips to Petoskey-20 minutes away. We had a great time! We will definitely plan a trip back for next year!
Had a great time. Loved the cabin and we will be back next summer.
We love kayaking down the Sturgeon River and this was the perfect spot. We kayaked in the morning and then ate lunch outside to watch everyone else go down the river. It was fun greeting everyone as the came by. The beds in the cabin were very comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay. There is also a lovely screened in porch that we enjoyed each evening. We plan on booking a stay again next summer.
Easy access, replies from the owner were almost instant, clean, kitchen was better than the picture, plenty of kitchen ware, plenty of towels and a peaceful deck to watch the river, great time
Cozy little cabin on the sturgeon river. Feels secluded when out in front along the river but very close to town and it’s conveniences. Grocery store is right across the street. Kayak rental and smoked fish shop very short walk away. The north central state bike path passes close by as well.
It was so fun to watch tubers and kayakers go by every day! The yard is small but sufficient for our needs. There was a bon fire pit and a nice porch to grill out and a stone bar for serving. The indoors are equally small but has everything one needs. One room had possibly a queen bed. Maybe it was full sized. The room with bunks were full size bunks. They are larger than you expect for a bunk bed. The only constructive feedback I’d leave is regarding the earwigs. We probably killed 3-5 indoors a day. It wasn’t so bad that it was unbearable for us and we would definitely come back but would probably bring ortho to spray the cabin perimeter before sleeping.
Great for two people but way too small for any more than that. The living area was very dark making it difficult to read.
This is my second stay at the River Bend Cabin and it was awesome! I like to kayak Burt Lake and Indian river, but this year the weather did not cooperate. So I got to spend my days reading books, writing, shopping, and sitting by the fire. The cabin is the perfect for those types of days. The shopping is all within walking distance. There are two antique shops, the Summer Shop, and more. Anna is always a great host and I will be back again next year!
We had such a great time. Nice bedding, towels, well appointed. My girls loved the porch swing and the loft and we all loved the beautiful views and the fire pit. So nice to have cable and WiFi and so much to do nearby. We enjoyed mini golf, bumper boats, a rafting trip and beautiful Burt Lake. We’d love to come back! Thank you!
Great location. Cabin with everything you need and personality on the river.
We had a great time and the cabin was very well equipped with all the essentials. Great location for kayaking, beaches and shopping. Perfect distance to Petoskey and Mackinaw City for day trips. Thanks again Anna!!
We loved your little cabin on the river! Even had a campfire each night. Nice and cozy! Thanks!
This is a nice little cabin for a family
Our family has a pleasant time at Anna’s property, particularly hanging out on the back porch and in the backyard. It is a charming cottage, and we enjoyed returning here each evening during our stay after exploring the area.
We needed a cottage for just a few days in Indian River and this was a perfect spot. Easy access to the big lakes and a scenic little backyard on the Sturgeon was ideal.
Peaceful setting right on the river.
Our family vacations are planned around fishing. We found this cabin on the river with all the lakes in the area. We enjoyed the river at the cabin and our boys caught some fish from there too! The neighbors were friendly also. Ann was wonderful to work with and gave us ideas of things to do in the area. We all had a wonderful time and Momma came home with bragging rights on biggest Smallmouth Bass!
We loved this cabin. We stayed here when we went for a family weekend gateway to enjoy Mackinac Island. The kids fished in the river... right in the back yard and caught fish. This is a beautifully decorated and maintained property. We will be back soon for sure!
We had a great time at River Bend Cabin. We really enjoyed the access to the river and lake. We had a very pleasant evening outside by the firepit after grilling a nice dinner. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever had in a rental property, and my daughter loved sleeping in the loft. It was surprisingly easy to rent toys and a boat, and I appreciated the proximity to a nice grocery store and to the cafe serving Starbucks right across the street. I would give this property 4.5 stars if I could. For now, the loss of a star is because the kitchen is a bit under-stocked, which made cooking a bit of an adventure, and because the older appliances, windows, and heating system made climate control difficult. On a longer stay, these things would have had a bigger impact. We would definitely stay here again.
Cabin was cute, cozy, clean and super quiet. Close to everything but an awesome up north feel. Communication was easy. I would definitely recommend this place.
There isn't enough room to list all the great things about this property. If you're looking for a quiet place with that 'Up North' feel and small town atmosphere, this is the place you've been looking for. Simply decorated, and with all the comforts of home, the River Bend Cabin has it all. Of the four beds available, the one I slept on was as comfortable as mine at home. Nestled on the banks of the Sturgeon River, having coffee on the back deck while watching the Ducks was a real treat each morning. Don't pass up this opportunity to relax and wind down. Most Northern Lower Michigan destinations are within an hours' drive, so making this as a base camp for exploration is a great choice. Anna is an incredible Host & attentive to every need. Even though she is not near the Cabin itself, she & the Property Manager respond to questions & concerns within minutes. Very attentive, highly recommended, and I look forward to working with her again in the future.
Loved our stay at this comfy little cabin. Don't let the word little fool you. This cabin has all the creature comforts that made our stay really enjoyable. Has a deck off the back ( looks over the river) to enjoy an outside meal, as well as, a 3 season enclosed porch with an Awesome swinging loveseat. Rustic , yet well furnished, and decorated. Very clean. Would highly recommend.
We had a great time in a great location for lots of day trips.
This cabin on the river was cute, cozy and relaxing! The cabin's location is within walking distance to the grocery store and a great cafe. I walked to the cafe every morning to get my cup of joe and went back to the cabin to sit by the river. Burt Lake State park was extremely close. I was able to kayak from the cabin to Burt Lake and to the Indian River. Almost made it to Mullet Lake! The cabin was clean and had everything you would need, I wish I could've stayed the entire week! The cabin is great for a one person get away or a family vacation. Loved it!
This place was perfect and so peaceful. I would recommend this little place to anyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway.
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the River Bend Cabin. We were looking to get out of the city and away from work to enjoy some time together. The cabin offered everything we needed. With enough activities to do outside and in the surrounding areas, we just needed a place to eat, sleep, and socialize. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The back porch and patio were relaxing to sit and chat with family. My sons were entertained by watching the tubers/rafters/kayakers floating down the Sturgeon River. There are plenty of shops, food, and entertainment within 3 minutes of the cabin. Everything was so close, but this cabin is neatly secluded to the point that you feel like you are away from town in a small community of riverfront homes.
Anna is really easy to work with. The cabin is even better in person than the pictures show. The owner does a lot with the space of the cabin. There were 4 of us in this cabin and we are a tall family (all 6’ or taller) and we never felt cramped. Supermarket and Starbucks/ Cafe a block away. Tube/ canoe/ kayak rental within walking distance, Burt Lake State Park (Devoe Beach) a short bike ride away, Cross in the Woods was just a 2 minute car ride away and there are lots of eating choices in the area. I will put it this way; we went on a vacation at the cabin with 17 year old and 16 year old boys that didn’t want to go and once we got there they asked if we could go every year.
If you want a relaxing, yet conveniently located vacation home, this is your place. An adorable cabin with everything you need to be comfortable, and best of all, a beautiful, private view of the river. A great screen porch with a swing that my 17 year daughter wanted to take home makes for a great pairing with that morning cup of coffee. So close to Mackinaw, Petosky and other upper lower peninsula destinations, you will get away but still be close. Perfect for a girls weekend or a couple get-away.
What a quaint cottage in a beautiful location! We used this as a jumping off point to explore the Northern Lower Peninsula and were not disappointed. Close to Mackinaw City. Close to northern Michigan lakes. It was a lovely summer kick off for our family!
This is a very nice cabin. Although due to weather we did not get to enjoy the outdoor space as much as I would like. The outdoor space would be a very nice spot to enjoy northern Michigan. The river is beautiful. Nice quiet area that is close to everything you would need. The cabin is not huge, but is very functional and there was plenty of room for the 4 of us to spread out a little and have our space. The cabin was very clean and organized. The kitchen is very well stocked with the utensils that would be needed for any cooking that is needed. The communication with the owner was very easy, and willing to take care of anything that would come up. This cabin will be on my list to stay at again if I ever find myself in the Indian River area again. Thanks for sharing your cabin.
Stayed here with 6 men for trout opener in Michigan. We absolutely loved the cabin and location. The weather was a little cool but we had a fire in the fire pit and it was great. The radiant heat furnace works very well. It has all the conveniences of home and was decorated Upnorth Michigan. Really cool! My wife would have loved it. We caught 6 Walleye and 2 brown trout right off the sea wall in the back yard. The sturgeon river is one of the best fishing and kayak streams in Michigan. Melissa (owners sister) lives locally and is very helpful without being intrusive. I use VRBO a lot and this is one of the best. We will definitely be back next year.
It was nice to have the deck overlooking the river. The cabin is in the middle of everything! We went to Sault St Marie and toured the locks ,Gaylord in search of Elk, drove the of tunnel trees stopped for coffee and had a wonderful Polish lunch at Legs inn went to Mackinac island wonderful! The lumberjack show is a don't miss the beach is not far from the cabin it is small but very nice. The cabin was comfy and had most everything we needed one thing missing was a lighter so we had to go get one before we could have a fire. I wish the beds were more to comfy maybe I am just used to my own bed? Wendy
The cabin was as represented. Very clean. Also very small. The location right along the river was wonderful. We very much enjoyed the deck and firepit and grill. We had a wonderful time and would definitely rent it again.
Great place that is close to many different activities! Whether it is going to Mackinac to buy fudge and enjoy time on the Island. or going to Petoskey to jump off the pier and look for Petoskey stones, this is a great place to stay! You can also walk to Burt lake State park to spend time on the beautiful beach or go tubing down the cool Sturgeon river. Harbor Springs is a great place to have lunch. We also loved sitting on the back deck watching all the people float by. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!
Very nice and relaxing. Great place to unwind after sight seeing. Would recommend this cabin.
Very nice. Everything we needed. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely outdoor space on the river. Recommend this spot!
Wonderful place for our family! Extremely clean, adorably decorated, and close to everything. Located right on the river, where we spent peaceful evenings by the bonfire. Owner was available and prompt with any questions that we had. Loft was ideal for our kids. Will definitely visit again!
We've been to Indian River many times, and I am so happy to have found this cabin! Although it's right off of the main road, the backyard was so peaceful with the river right behind. It was also fun to be able see the cabin from the river on our rafting trip. The cottage was more than large enough for the 5 of us to spread out, yet cozy enough to spend quality time together. The kitchen was just the right size to be able to cook breakfast home before heading out to see the many sights in and around the area. I was wondering how the 3 teenage boys would react, and it seems like they enjoyed it as much as Mom and Dad did. The cabin was nicely decorated and the fire pit and grill were appreciated. We've already said that we'd be back, and if have the opportunity to come up to Indian River again, this will be the first home that we will be looking to book, as well as telling others about.
The River Bend Cabin in Indian River, MI was just what we needed and the listing was accurate. We had 3 people stay at the cabin for a golfing trip for 4 nights. For us we were looking for a place to sleep, shower and hang out on the peaceful river setting. The property was clean and everything we needed was provided, WiFi was great for us and the fact that it had air conditioning was great too.. The owner provided good customer service and we were in contact by text and e-mail. I would recommend this to my friends and relatives but it is small, it did fit our needs though. Indian River Golf Course is close and was in great shape and their food was good also. Vivio's has outstanding service and great pizza, ask for Sallie, she is the best.
My family and I loved this little cottage on the Sturgeon River from the moment we walked in. My daughters ages 12 and 6 went straight for the loft area as soon as they noticed it. Next was the enclosed back porch with the dinner table, another small table with a chess set, and a comfy loveseat. Very convenient to Indian River and only 35 or so miles from Mackinaw City. We enjoyed our Labor Day weekend in this area.
