Raymond was excellent 👌🏾 Very attentive to anything we needed. The house accommodations were perfect for our needs. He was very knowledgeable about the city and gave great recommendations! 10/10
We had a great time staying here. The property was an the perfect size for our family. Community was nice and quiet. Grocery store and parks were right around the corner. Easy access to the Highway and city. Backyard was amazing to sit and enjoy the evening. I would highly recommend staying here when you visit chicago.
The house is lovely and comfortable. Oak Park is a beautiful neighborhood.
We have a fantastic stay! This home has everything you need to be your home away from home. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils, pots, pans, dishes and glasses you would need for any meal. The house has so much charm and was in a very nice neighborhood. Everything we could possibly need was nearby including, restaurants, grocery stores and gas stations. The owner was great with responding to anything we contacted him with and came and met us in person when we arrived which I thought was very nice. Just an overall great stay.
We had all the comforts of home. Beautiful old home. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. We walked downtown for groceries, a small town bar, and dinner. It was also a short walk to the train station. It was very easy to get to all the tourist attractions that we wanted to see in Chicago via the train and bus. Ray was absolutely amazing to work with! He would promptly respond to ANYTHING we needed.
Great house. Raymond was super quick with responses. Would highly recommend
We stayed here and enjoyed both the location (close to a grocery store and bakery) and the house itself (great kitchen, well stocked with items needed for making our own meals with plenty of room for us to host family dinners for 6 ppl). The beds and pillows were comfortable and we had plenty of towels. Raymond was a great host and very quick to respond to questions.
The place is not huge but it fit four of us comfortably. A few in our group took advantage of a nice backyard to get some fresh air. The toilet upstairs is not listed but came in handy. There is no laundry facility as far as I could tell. Overall it was comfortable.
We stayed for 2 weeks and felt so comfortable in the house and neighborhood. Would highly recommend it and look forward to returning.
Great property. Felt right at home. If we needed anything he was right there for us. The only issue is that if you are going to cook in the kitchen on the stove or use the oven, be aware the smoke alarm is very sensitive and it will go off not matter what you have on the stove! Suggest to grill. Would definitely stay here again! Neighborhood is beautiful and very friendly.
This homeless in a great location and very clean!
This property is lovely and truly a home away from home. With a large living room, dining room and kitchen, my family of 5 adults was very comfortable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We really enjoyed this 3 bdrm craftsman style house. Nice comfortable, quiet neighborhood that’s close to the freeway and rail stops. Raymond was easy going and available but you don’t need him much because he’s thought of everything in the property appointments.
We were very comfortable staying in this beautifully kept home. It's in a safe, quiet neighborhood and a short uber or train ride to whatever you may want to do in Chicago. The owner communicates well and was really flexible with the odd hours that we checked in/out. We would definitely stay here again.
Owner was very easy to communicate with, excellent house in a quiet neighborhood, close to the train downtown, close to Frank Lloyd Wright attractions. We’d stay there again!
Mr Raymond was helpful and warm. He welcomed our family of small children and small dogs and we were very much at home in the house. Thank you
The house was very nice! Location was amazing!
We very much enjoyed our stay and would return and reccomend this house to anyone. In a great Oak Park neighborhood close to shopping and transportation, the house is very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed during our stay. Ray was very helpful during our check in and gave us great info about the local area.
We loved our stay here in Chicago! The home is comfy and inviting, and the neighborhood was great! Enjoyed the nearby restaurants and the proximity to downtown was perfect for us.
My family of 4 loved the house. Pros: close to grocery store. Close enough to public transportation. Close enough to drive into the city. Ray (owner) is great to work with. The house is beautiful. Quiet neighborhood. Local suburbs offer good restaurants and family entertainment. Cons: Downstairs bed is firm. Some people like firm...my wife and I do not :). I'd still stay here but I will have something to help with the firmness of the mattress. Smoke alarm in the kitchen. Its a necessary evil...be sure to cover your pots when cooking (Bacon...yum!). Thanks for making your home available, Ray!
Great place and Raymond was supper nice and helpful. The area is awesome. Walking distance to grocery store and shops.
The location and quiet neighborhood were perfect for us. The house is very cute and has all of the modern conveniences that you would want. The host Raymond was also very nice and made us feel welcome. He was also very forthcoming with information about staying there and local area. The only slight negative was that the bedroom with the King bed did not stay very dark in the mornings. The other bedrooms were a bit darker in the mornings, but didn't have a King size bed. Would definitely stay there again if we return to the area.
This property was exactly what we were looking for...an affordable, comfortable place, located near the train. Our property host (Ray) was very nice and took care of all our needs.
Everything lived up to our expectations. This property is situated in a beautiful suburb of Chicago and we felt completely safe and at home. The house is lovely, clean, stocked with towels and all that we needed in the kitchen to make our meals and having a bedroom on the main floor met our needs perfectly. The furniture on the deck is really comfortable as is all of the furniture and beds. The dining room table is the perfect size for doing a jigsaw puzzle too. The host is top notch. Ray was accessible if we needed him and gave us some great tips and advice when we arrived based on what we were hoping and planning to do and gave us some new suggestions too. We had a car so we didn't use public transit. Getting on the freeway into downtown was very easy - Chicago is a big city with quite a bit of (expected) traffic, but one of us is from another big city so that helped a lot with our comfort level of getting around. The Architectural River Cruise was great, and of course we had some deep dish pizza, and wandered around downtown a bit. There are some nice quiet beaches north of the city in Evanston and we enjoyed going to the very quiet and clean Greenwood Street beach. We found a great breakfast/brunch spot called Delia's on Lake Street in Oak Park - don't miss it! Next time we're in Chicago, we'll definitely book this property again. Thanks for everything! :)
House was lovely and location was peaceful with easy access to public transport to easily get downtown.
We had a wonderful time in Oak Park. We had three young kids with us and the property provided plenty of space to spread out and was very well kept! The neighborhood is charming with great parks to visit. Easy walk to the train station for heading in to downtown Chicago each day.
This home is in a fabulous location for getting to the city. Located in a great suburb of Chicago. The neighborhood was quiet -even though it is relatively close to the tollway. We brought our dogs and walked them with no issues. The kitchen was wonderful as was the deck and BBQ. Ray the host was very nice and accommodating. We will definitely look at staying here again!
We really enjoyed our long weekend in Oak Park. This house is great for a relaxing time with family. The neighborhood is lovely and a great place to walk. This was our first time to Oak Park, even though we go to Chicago every couple of months, and we enjoyed touring the Frank Lloyd Wright properties and a couple of restaurants in the downtown area. We will definitely reserve the place again, such a tremendous alternative to a the stale, institutional hotels we have stayed in before.
Great location and host was extremely helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
My father and siblings stayed here during a recent family reunion in Oak Park. It was so cozy and well-supplied, we.ended up spending most of our time hanging out at this house! Ray replied to all my questions very promptly and came by immediately when we needed a light bulb replacement. A big thanks to Ray for such a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!
So enjoyed our stay at this lovely home in Oak Park. Centrally located for the college visits we planned. Perfect for 2 teenagers to each have their own bedrooms and we appreciated the king bed. Raymond was quick to respond to communications and easy to work with. Thank you!
Ray was helpful and patient and provided a well kept house in a shady neighborhood. The kitchen is well appointed and if you wished, you could entertain a small group in the spacious dining room. The bathroom is new. This is a terrific place for a dog. There is a fenced back yard and walking in the neighborhood is a real pleasure. The el is only several blocks away and runs frequently to downtown Chicago. Oak. Park is a treasure. It's quiet, safe and convenient to the city. Great place, great host.
Wow, this was a phenomenal place. Above and beyond experience!
I was able to stay here a couple of nights with a few of my friends and we had a lovely time! The house was absolutely beautiful and clean upon our arrival. It was also located in such a safe and quiet neighborhood. There were no issues with check-in. It was super easy and Raymond was there to greet us and show us around. He was very attentive and gave us no issues during our stay. I would most definitely book with him in the future!
The house has some old charm but has been updated. I loved the hard wood floors. The community is a safe, friendly environment with many shops and food options within walking distance. The house isn't quite big enough for more than 5 people but held 4 men just fine. It's 20 minutes from the big attractions of Chicago. Everything was easy to get to. I recommend strip to Navy Pier. It is beautiful.
We had a great time here! We came with our daughters, and our friends and their baby! Ray was great to work with and his home is clean and well equipped. The home is located in a nice neighborhood with a fun park around the block and restaurants within walking distance!
The house was exactly as advertised and very clean. The neighborhood was quiet and easy to get to and from downtown. It was a great stay over all.
My husband and I stayed for a week with our three boys and it was the perfect location! Blocks from 290, 1/2 block to a great park, anything in Oak Park is good but this is a very centrally convenient location. Ray took care of our parking and checked for dirty towels and bedding every day, he is really nice! We would stay again for sure.
This was our first experience with Home Away so we weren't sure what to expect. Ray was a wonderful host! He was available when we needed him but, otherwise, you didn't know he was there. The house is located on a beautiful, quiet street that is convenient to many amenities. A Lyft ride to downtown Chicago is about $30 and well worth not dealing with driving in traffic and paying for parking. We would highly recommend!
This was the perfect location for our group who were in town for a friend's wedding. Ray was very responsive and flexible with our check in time which was greatly appreciated. The kitchen is well equipped so we were able to buy groceries and cook meals together. Parking was plentiful and free. Rooms were comfortable. Overall, a great stay, thank you!
We loved the home everything was great the owner was great only reason we gave it a 3 because there was only 1 TV in the entire home and no washer and dryer and it was 6 of us that was kind of a problem because the kids were fighting over TV shows and I had to go to local laundry mat and the upstairs took forever to cool down it was very hot up there for our kids when we got back from touring everyday they couldn't go to sleep until it cool down but the owner was very nice even let us use his parking pass for downtown
Loved the home. Very quiet , clean with all the comforts of home. It was close to our daughters condo and the place where she was married. Had a wonderful visit.
We stayed for theee nights. Ray is a great host and has thought of everything. We walked to the train station to go into the city and there is a grocery store within 2 blocks. Highly recommend!
Raymond is a wonderful host, and responds quickly to all inquiries. The place is very comfortable, and the location is terrific. Walking distance to town center, train and restaurants. Will stay again!
The location of this Craftsman Style Bungalow was perfect for our guys’ weekend to Chicago. We could get to the city within fifteen to twenty minutes which was prefect for us as the car show we were in for was in the city. In addition, we could get to most sightseeing locations in about the same time. The house location is also a very short drive from Midway International Airport, MDW. Overall the house itself was a four out five for us. Pros: + The kitchen is a functional size with the dining room right off from the kitchen; + The bedrooms were clean and the beds were comfortable; + The bathrooms were clean, stocked with clean towels and necessary toiletries; + neighborhood was quiet and with no parking issues. Cons: - Initially check in time was 04:30pm which was late for us given our flight arriving at 8am and our plans being to grab breakfast somewhere, plan the rest of the day, check-in and head out. However, after speaking to owner, Raymond, he allowed us to check in at noon after cleaning services was done which we were extremely grateful for. Unfortunately check out time was 10am which we found to be early and could not be changed as cleaning services was scheduled to come in shortly after. - Half bath on second floor is functional however very small. Extras: + Raymond gave us recommendations for dining and bars which worked out for us beautifully. + Raymond allowed us to use his parking pass for parking lot in the city which left us a block away from bars he recommended to us as well as save us money as parking pass gave us discount on parking rate. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this property and are discussing revisiting later this year.
We had a great stay, very comfortable owner was great to work with. We will rent again in the future.
Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed at Ray's home for three nights. We enjoyed it very much and will plan to return when we need a place to stay in Oak Park. The house is nicely appointed, clean, and well-maintained. It is also located on a quite residential street with plenty of parking. Ray made pre-arrival, check-in, and checkout easy. I highly recommend this property.
Everything was clean and comfortable. Raymond was a great host. We consider to come back someday.
