A newly-built guesthouse with the feel of the Old West.
We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this studio guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds. This is our guesthouse, and sits approximately 30 feet from our house. The patio shown is part of our house, and is therefore a shared space with the owners. However, we are very respectful of your privacy, and all of the facilities are yours to use during your stay.
Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.
After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.
Inside the guesthouse, you will experience the warmth of rustic and the comfort of modern from the custom-built cedar furniture and cabinetry to the knotty-pine vaulted ceiling, along with the wall of windows opening onto a fantastic view of Alpine against the mountains. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, cook-top, and pantry. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking utensils.
The queen-size custom-built bed has plenty of storage space under it in case you want to stay awhile. There is also a couch that also serves as a twin XL bed, with the linens stored under the couch.
The television is a 42-inch flat screen with satellite service.
The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.
The mode, spacious bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, and a vanity with plenty of counter space. There is also a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.

We stayed in this and it's sister property next door. The back of the houses have a long porch and you can sit out there with your tea and hanging out the a bunch of goats, chickens, and a horse. My kids (even the teens) and I loved it...so relaxing for us city people to get the farm animal vibes. This is a studio with modern amenities and comfy beds. The air conditioning was great. There are even fresh eggs in the fridge to make breakfast. Very convenient to the town and I would stay there again if we visit the area.
We were very impressed with the accommodations. It was very relaxing, peaceful and quite. It was an extra treat to have a stocked pantry to add to the food you brought.
By far the best rental experience I’ve ever had. The place was clean, welcoming, and incredibly scenic. Loved feeding the goats and chickens! The stars out here are to die for, and the mountains are surreal. The hosts are lovely and provide farm fresh eggs and wine in the fridge:) Great experience. I hope to come back!
This was the perfect location to explore Big Bend National Park, Davis Mountains and West Texas. It is so close to town and several great restaurants and grocery stores. The rental had everything we needed for a comfortable convenient stay. We loved waking up and watching all the critters while we had our coffee. After a day of walking and hiking the relaxing hot tub was amazing! This was a great spot for star gazing too. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the Big Bend area.
Great stay in a quiet location just outside of Alpine. Small guest house with kitchen, nice bathroom with great shower, and a lovely old stove. We loved the quiet, and my mom enjoyed meeting the horse, Thor, as well as the friendly cat, chickens, and goats around the property. Would definitely stay again!
Wonderful hosts! Wonderful accommodations in every way imaginable! Getting to pet and feed their animals was a bonus! If you're looking for a place to stay in the Alpine, Marfa or Marathon area look no further. It was so much better than staying in a hotel. Super clean and super comfortable bed! The hosts sent me off with plenty of fresh eggs from their chickens. Happy! :)
Proposed to my girlfriend here while we were making dinner!! Beautiful property and very well located
We loved our stay here. You are in a guest house on a property with goats, chickens, horses, and the owner doesn't mind if you interact with them. They were all really cute and we enjoyed having them as the view from out of our windows. The apt is nicely soundproofed, so you don't need to worry about being woken by any animal sounds. The accommodations were clean, cozy, and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need and we love the fresh farm eggs and local wine our hosts left us. Another bonus is the awesome hot tub that is right outside of your apt. We liked stargazing from it. Overall, it was a great experience. Thanks again!!!
My husband and I stayed at both of the properties at this location - on the outbound and inbound portion of our Big Bend adventure. We could not be happier with both properties. Our hosts thought of every detail and put so much thought into the design and comfort of each one. They had everything we could possibly have needed and more! Our hosts were so responsive and friendly. We loved the animals on the farm and enjoyed the serenity. Either rental is an excellent gateway to the Big Bend if that is your destination. We highly recommend either property and only wished we had time for a longer stay to explore more of the local area. We did find time to get up to the McDonald Observatory for a star party and that was great! The town of Alpine is very charming too. We are very appreciative to have found these properties!
Very nice and quiet
Exactly as described. Nestled in the country with just a 5 min drive to town. Fresh eggs from the hens. Hot tub with starlight view.
Enjoyed our stay, country location yet close to town, exceptionally clean, friendly, would highly recommend!
Great guest house, clean and has everything you need. Accommodating owner allowed early check in. Chicken and goats were a plus. Our only regret was not having more leftover pizza crust for the animals. The ranch dog Shadow is very friendly and has has probably greeted hundreds of people in the parking lot. Almost forgot to mention the hot tub. It was icing on the cake. Thank you for having us!
This was a beautiful place. It was just as described and better than the pictures. Lisa was very easy to talk to and check in was a breeze. We felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves. Thank you for sharing your lovely property with us. Merry Christmas!
My boyfriend and I drove 8 hours from Houston to have a quiet getaway weekend to see the stars and get some cold air. We loved sitting in the hot tub, looking at the stars. The room and accommodations were perfect for what we needed. We enjoyed the barnyard animals, too! We brought our two dogs and they loved watching the animals. Lisa and Steve were very attentive and fixed an issue with the hot tub right away, despite being out of town. (We were grateful for that because it was a major selling point for us when we rented the room.) We used the kitchenette for most meals. There were plenty of bowls, silverware, plates, etc. to use. The house is in the middle of Big Bend/Terlingua, Marfa, and Fort Davis, making it a great place to stay and see all those spots. It’s also north of Alpine a mile or two, so you’re out of the city on a quiet road. Great spot! Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks again for having us!
Our stay in the Mountain View Guest House was perfect!! The cabin was extremely clean and well stocked. The bed was super comfortable and it was a quick easy drive into Alpine or FT Davis. We loved the surrounding scenery and the farm animals.
We stayed here as a base for excursions over the course of three days. We visited nearby Davis State Park and Big Bend national park. The accommodations were exactly as described and we enjoyed being outside of town to relax outside on the patio. Our hosts were very laid back and genuine. We will definitely be back to stay at the property again.
Everything we needed for an enjoyable long weekend. Great hot tub under the stars.
All questions answered promptly.
What an absolutely awesome place! 2020 COVID restrictions changed some major travel plans for a lot of people (US) and we were no exception. Having been to Spain, Portugal, Italy (staying in places where we were surrounded by hills and mountains), this location in Alpine, TX, was like a visit to those places – wrapped up into one location! The mountains...near and distant – incredible! Exploring and experiencing nature in its pristine, raw beauty (I love cacti!), and the quaintness of Alpine itself… we were so “blown away” that Texas had such a gem! Lisa and Steve were incredibly helpful and extremely accommodating to our needs, but even more so, to our “wants”, as I had a boundless fascination with her landscape/gardens and property – and the welcoming committee of numerous ranch animals was a bonus! We love animals and growing up in a central Pennsylvania farming community, we enjoyed the encounters! Our apartment was extremely comfortable and well stocked with welcoming goodies! We are so grateful for all they did to make our trip one of the best ever and we have already advised them that we WILL be back! They have a 5+ star place!
The Mountain View guest house with everything it was picture to be. It was nestled among the foothills of the Davis Mountains with a little farm on the property. The bed was super comfortable and the property owners were very friendly and accommodating.
This guest house was perfect for us. We didn't cook meals there but we could have. The cabin had everything to do so along with some food items and staple items. There was an extra treat of fresh eggs in the frig along with a bottle of wine. Out the back window you could view the owner's goats, horses and chickens. We would definitely stay again!
This rental was great! It was everything advertised and more. These accommodations made our trip to the Davis Mountains wonderful. It’s in a great scenic location with a good view of the mountains. Would definitely recommend.
We loved our time at this property. The owners were very kind and helpful. We look forward to booking again - Thank you!
An overall amazing experience! Truly one of the best rentals we’ve used - great location, views, and amenities! Lisa was super helpful and went above & beyond to ensure a great stay!
The property is well kept and clean. The property managers are friendly and available to address any questions or concerns you have. Will recommend to friends and family as a great place to stay when in the area.
We enjoyed our stay. The space was cozy and clean. It was so much fun to be so near the goats and chickens. The location was away from town but close enough for us to shop and eat. This is also a good location to serve as home base as you visit the sites and cities in the region. Many thanks to Lisa for helping us feel welcome and comfortable!
Awesome cabin with great amenities . Host was very helpful..
We really enjoyed our stay at your property. The chickens and goats were very entertaining. Lol. The complimentary fresh eggs and wine were also greatly appreciated. If we are ever back that way, we would love to stay again.
This property has been thoughtfully prepared and is clearly maintained with love. There wasn't a single amenity we wanted for, and our hosts provided several that we didn't expect -- complimentary chardonnay, farm-fresh eggs, and plenty of chocolate! The sunrises were gorgeous facing out toward the Big Bend mountains. We'd definitely stay here again.
Lovely, helpful hosts in perfect rural setting. Hot tub was icing on the cake.
Gorgeous all around, and Lisa and Steve are fantastic. We enjoyed the comfortable furnishings and luxurious touches everywhere. The wine and fresh eggs from their hens were a lovely touch. Everything was so easy. One of our favorite stays ever!
Property was immaculate, and hosts were friendly and on site. Could not have asked for a quieter, more private accommodations on beautiful grounds!
My husband loved this property! It was so quiet and peaceful there. Clean and just as pictured. We loved it!
We have such a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for a better stay. We were given clear directions making arriving at night no problem. The rental was bright and clean, well stocked with everything we needed. The hot tub was very inviting and we had a great time watching the goats, chickens, and horse. Thank you Lisa for your generosity in sharing your beautiful home!
A wonderful property that is quiet and peaceful. It is well set up and has everything you need. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.
This rental is perfect. It is out of town, but not far. The stars are magnificent from the hot tub. Everything you could possibly need is in the unit. We would definitely choose this place again. Oh, and I forgot to mention, the animals hear are some of the friendliest around!. The cat is the official greeter, it think. Super friendly!
Such an awesome stay at a cute, clean, cozy, and beautiful guest lodge. Owners were so friendly and thoughtful. Would love to come back and stay again.
Great stay! Facility was nice. Enjoyed the hot tub and animals.
Exactly as viewed on VRBO. Clean, organized, comfortable. We had a view of the barnyard, and could feed the animals if we wanted to. Very private. The bed was AWESOME! Remote but only about 5 minutes to town. We had everything we needed for our stay and more. Will go back. Highly recommend cocktails at the Holland hotel.
What a great location for a weekend getaway! Plus our place was comfortable, cozy, had a well-stocked kitchen pantry, a welcome bottle of wine and fresh eggs. The chickens, goats and cows outside our window added to our great view of the Alpine sky.
This is an amazing property. The owners communicated with me through the whole process. Upon arrival the fire pit was burning, instructions on use of the hot tub were available, chocolates were at our bedside, fresh farm eggs and complimentary wine was provided, the peaceful setting was all it was advertised to be and the incredible craftsmanship of the unit was an incredible surprise. The owners were friendly and gracious. This property hosts the most amazing sun rise setting in the mountains and all the serenity you can imagine. I could not have asked for a better place to stay in Alpine, Texas. It was only a 2 hour drive from Big Bend and had I known the extent of the perfection we would have stayed there much longer. I will be back. Thanks to the owners for taking such pride in their accommodations. This experience far exceeded my expectations.
We had such a wonderful time at this property! Close proximity to Alpine, and a short drive to Marfa and Ft. Davis.
The guest house was beautifully decorated and wonderfully appointed with little touches making this place a welcoming for a quick or extended stay. The owners respond very quickly to any questions or concerns. We were so excited to find a place that allowed us to have our three dogs. The small farm was a great retreat from city center and super fun to be around.
Lisa and Steve have created a great place to share with others. You can tell they truly care about their guests and how they can make your stay perfect. Shanks so much!
I have only good things to say about Lisa and Steve! The rooms are huge, have all the things you need and plenty of great extras (fresh eggs!) that charm the heart. If beautiful skies and an easy home base are in your list of values, this is the ONLY place to stay in Alpine. Excellent for solo or couples (and they love pets).
We were so impressed with this vrbo! The views are amazing and it was so fun to look out our window and now only see great views but also see animals! The location is great and it is very easy to get to Ft Davis and Marfa. We also visited Big Bend and that drive wasn't bad either. The bed was so comfortable and my husband and I both slept great!
Perfect cozy little home! We arrived late after a long trip and it was easy to find. The host was so sweet. Quickly available via text and ready to assist. We loved it. I loved seeing the animals in the morning. We wish we could have stayed longer. We hope to visit again. Everything was so well thought out and was so comfortable.
My boyfriend and I explored West Texas for the first time and spent two nights here in Alpine. Woke up, enjoyed a cup of coffee, soaked in the hot tub and fed the goats, cows, chickens and horse! The animals were so sweet and the hosts were friendly, yet gave us plenty of privacy. The star gazing at night (in the hot tub again, of course), was incredible. Great water pressure in the shower too! Well stocked kitchen with everything we needed. Grilled up some steak for dinner and ate outside at the fire pit. Highly recommend this place!
Comfortable, clean, beautiful setting with lovely hosts that made us feel right at home! The animals are fun to watch and don't make a peep at night when it's time to sleep. We will be back!
We stayed two nights and found the location great for exploring both Alpine and Fort Davis. The house was clean and comfortable, we appreciated having the kitchen to cook in one night as we were pretty tired after a day of hiking. The fresh eggs from the coop were a breakfast treat! We enjoyed watching the animals, especially Speedy the goat. Lisa was a great host, everything was easy.
Relaxing, great views, stocked with everything we might need. No fuss check-in check-out.
We arrived very late in the evening and no problem entering space and using the hot tub after an 8 hour drive in. Everything was clean and spacious. Great hostess!
Spent a lot of time just perusing the critters. especially the chickens and goats who were so polite as to keep quiet til we got up! Even the roosters!Beautiful place with plenty of room and a good kitchen
The guest room was as described, very comfortable and cozy. The animals were fun to watch and the sunrise and sunset were very nice. The owners are very friendly yet they do respect privacy. We would stay there again if ever in the area.
We loved our stay. The guest house is beautiful.
Property managers attentive without being intrusive. Very clean. Well-stocked kitchen. Nicely situated between Alpine and Fort Davis.
The property was just as described. Lisa is communicative, welcoming and hospitable. It's clean, quiet and serene. Thor, the sweet horse, is the star of the show.
We were doing a cross Texas trip and wanted something different than an interstate Hotel/Motel. This charming stop was better than expected. It was out in the West Texas Countryside complete with West Texas animals (chickens, goats, horses and cows). The bedroom window offered us a view of the mountains. The kitchen came complete with all that was needed plus a dozen very fresh eggs for breakfast. The temp outside was in the upper 90's, but the room was very cool and comfortable. This was definitely a wonderful stay.
My husband and I had a wonderfully relaxing stay in the guesthouse. It was a great location while we explored Alpine and Fort Davis. Our hosts were delightful but were also very respectful of our privacy. We will certainly consider staying again in the future.
The property is beautiful; every part of this location is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The guest house is a one-room setup with the bed, sofa & kitchen all in one space. There is a very nice, large bathroom with a great shower. Plenty of parking. Lovely landscaping and as much privacy as you like. The owners are right on site if you need anything and are very friendly. You can control how much you like to visit and talk and they respect that. It was a perfect place for my husband and I to stay for our visit to Alpine. It is located out of town but only a 3 minute drive to town. Perfect!
The property was clean, quiet, beautiful. A wonderful respite from the outside world. Loved meeting the owners and will plan to stay there again if I return.
Outstanding accommodation. This rustic getaway is wonderfully furnished and has a relaxed air. The night time sky will take your breath away and the animals will make you chuckle all day long. The host was very available with excellent communication and hospitality. I throughly enjoyed my stay and if ever in the area again, know right where I will be. Thanks
This was exactly what we were looking for in getting away and relaxing.
We loved staying here! We're very much city-folk, so the opportunity to be near livestock such as chickens, goats, cows and horses is lovely. The room itself was very well stocked with everything one would possibly need to be comfortable. The owners were very accommodating and warm. Would stay again the next time we're in the area, but for longer hopefully!
Our only regret is that we were not going to be able to really spend time in Alpine at this beautiful home! We were stopping by on our way back from the Grand Canyon and only had one night there. We have already discussed booking with Lisa again in the future for an extended stay! They had some amazing fresh eggs and wine waiting for us in the fridge. After our 12 and a half hour drive, it was exactly what we needed. I just loved everything about the place! I hope they don’t mind letting these Texas Longhorn fans stay at their property again!
From the friendliness of the owners....to the quality of the property.... to the beautiful setting.... everything here is top notch. We could not have had a more enjoyable experience to start off our trip. We certainly feel that we have new friends in Alpine and look forward to returning many times in the future!
Clean, peaceful space.
We enjoyed ourselves immensely, from the sweet animals to the hot tub, to say nothing of the view, day and night. This was a great home base for day trips in the area. Lisa and Steve are welcoming and hospitable. A grand introduction to West Texas for 2 Midwesterners!
Beautiful view of the stars, cozy area to relax and sleep, fun place outside of town, friendly farm animals! We look forward to coming again!
So many good things to say about our stay at this pet friendly accommodation. First of all, we love Alpine and the Davis Mountains. Have been there many times. This was our first stay at this VRBO. The pictures and description are accurate. The room was very clean and comfortable. Allowing pets is such a gift. No pet sitting and leaving dog behind. Having the farm animals to watch was a bonus. Chickens, goats, cows, and a horse were all friendly and entertaining. They love humans and always came to the fence for attention, when outside. They are not bothersome. We liked being just north of Alpine, which put us closer to McDonald Observatory, Fort Davis and the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center. Plenty of parking, a beautiful courtyard and views of the mountains to knock your socks off. We didn’t get to meet the owner because she was on vacation too. Very sad about that. Next time! We did communicate via email and she responded promptly. We had the entire place to ourselves. What a treat! I fed the animals, walked with the animals, built fires and relaxed in the huge hot tub with mountain and star views. Alpine has some great restaurants and a great grocery store, Porter’s. The road that the house is on, is great for walks; no traffic and awesome scenery. We look forward to staying here again! We highly recommend staying here.
Absolutely perfect place filled with plenty of relaxation. Lisa was extremely gracious and helpful throughout. Little details make all the difference and we would highly recommend staying here. We’re looking forward to our next trip back and will undoubtably stay again! Thank you for everything!!
The guesthouse is adorable and the owners are very welcoming. The space is utilized very well with a kitchenette, dining table, sitting area, comfortable bed, and plenty of storage. They had everything we needed to cook a spaghetti dinner in the kitchenette. We enjoyed excellent Wi-Fi connection, premium cable channels, and seeing the animals and mountains outside our windows. Thoughtful touches like complimentary wine and fresh farm eggs made the stay extra special. Would definitely return and highly recommend!
Lisa and Steve are not your typical hosts. They are there for almost everything you need or they will let you do your own thing, undisturbed. The animals they care for live in a very mixed community but find their own happiness. Frequently Steve or Lisa have to help one of them out of a predicament. If we didn't have other things to handle we would be continuously entertained and amused by the function of this community.
Thank You Lisa & Steve for a relaxing and enjoyable 4 days. We thoroughly enjoyed the property and getting to know your animals especially Thor. We hope to be back soon and stay at Sierra Vista. Thank You Again!!!
I'm a foodie. Tried quite a few restaurants in the area. Hands down the best ones are bread and breakfast in Alpine, blue mountain bistro in fort Davis and water stop in marfa tx. Make a reservation for blue mountain. Great hosts. Very friendly. The animals are close to the cabin but not a bother at all. My daughter loved the experience. The hosts were able to answer any questions I had about the area.
Would go back in a heartbeat! Spotless, well done little hideaway! Loved the personal touches...to us, the livestock was a plus! It isn’t everyday one gets to walk out and pet a cow or goal or just enjoy the chickens running around! So nice to temporarily escape to a different world!
Nice place. Not very private if owners are home but nice. Lots of fly's from the goats and chicken that are in pin next to house. That wasn't cool.
If you are looking for a relaxing end to a day of exploring Ft Davis or Big Bend - the Mountain View cabin is perfect. Only 25 minutes away from the Marfa lights as well! The property has an added bonus of an assortment of friendly farm animals to pet and watch. *Try dinner at Riata - before you leave Alpine Loved it all!
This was our first ever VRBO experience and we cannot not say enough positive things about Lisa and Steve's Mountain View Lodge. They made us feel extra comfortable and at home with their farm fresh eggs and wine! The check-in and out processes were extremely easy to follow. The place was absolutely adorable and perfect for a couple's getaway! The place was very clean and well stocked! There is a full sized refrigerator and freezer, cooking utensils, as well as some basic food staples for us to utilize. Lovely views of the mountains and stars especially from the hot tub which was very nice after a full day at Big Bend! They also have a chickens, goats, horses, and an extremely friendly cat that loves to snuggle right next to you! :) We definitely recommend Lisa and Steve's place to anyone heading to West Texas for a getaway! Thanks again for a great experience!
My s.o and I spent the whole day hiking around Big Bend, so we were exhausted by the end of the day. Check-In was super easy and private, as well as Check-Out. The rental was immaculately clean, and the ranch animals were a nice, refreshing view to wake up to. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one.
Enjoyed our stay in your guesthouse. Very clean, comfortable bed, and nice size bathroom. Wine and fresh eggs were a nice touch. I enjoyed our little visits and viewing the animals. I will recommend to family and friends traveling to the Big Bend area.
We stayed in Alpine for 2 nights. This was the perfect place for us. The attention to details and the little extras provided by the hosts are what make this place extra special. It is quiet yet close enough to town to pick up whatever we needed. Having use of the hot tub was welcome after a long day of hiking. Watching the animals from the room was entertaining. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in Alpine again.
My wife and I came out to West Texas to celebrate our 5th anniversary and had such a wonderful time staying at Lisa and Steve's guest house. The room was perfect, just as described and the fresh eggs and bottle of wine were a great added touch. All of the animals were such a joy to visit with and Lisa and Steve were available to ensure that our stay went well. The location is also perfect making it easy to take day trips up to Fort Davis/McDonald Observatory as well as Marfa. I highly recommend this location for a relaxing vacation in West Texas. We can't wait to come back!
This was our second visit and everything was perfect again. Our guest room with full bathroom, kitchenette and amenities was all we needed. Fresh eggs from Lisa’s hens and a bottle of wine was a nice touch. I fed the horse, the flock and the goats daily, (quite entertaining) and a soak in the hot tub after riding bikes and walking around historic Ft Davis was great. We plan on returning! Lisa and Steve are very hospitable and will do anything to make your stay successful. Our stay was 4 nights.
Everything was perfect! Thanknyou
Great place to stay...relaxing and very clean. Would definitely stay there again!
Very private and special place. Loved feeding the chickens and loving the horse.
Beautiful setting. Cozy well appointed cabin. Lisa has stocked it with everything you need. Loved the farm fresh eggs !
We really enjoyed our stay at Lisa and Steve’s farm. The unit is a spacious studio with a comfy bed and a nice sized bathroom. I was a drop concerned that I would be awoken by rooster crows, but the apartment was very quiet. And about those roosters...and chickens... and goats... and Thor the horse — it was so much fun petting them and watching them at feeding time. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back the next time I travel to Marfa/Alpine.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience in our cute and comfortable bungalow. The large property is located only a few miles from town and offers great views of the surrounding valley and mountains. We sat in the hot tub under the dark starry skies. We enjoyed watching the farm animals....they all seemed so happy. It was definitely as described......Amazing property! Thanks Lisa!
We loved waking up to the view of the sunrise peaking over the distant mountains with hues of pinks, blues, yellows and the gentle waking sounds of the chickens, and goats! The location was convenient and close enough to Marfa, Fort Davis, and Big Bend and proved to be a good central location to the many wonders of West Texas. Lisa & Steve were the quinessential hosts and we defintely enjoyed the fresh eggs, relaxing in the spa with the absolute best view EVAH! The bed was comfortable and kitchen well stocked. We'll absolutely be back as there is so much to do and see in this specail spot on the planet.
Lisa's place was a near perfect place for stay on our vacation to Big Bend. Quiet location, close by all attractions and super host. Thank you for allowing us stay.
We felt very welcomed there. It was nice of them to offer wine and farm fresh eggs to you. After spending long days in Big Bend National Park, it was nice to come back to a clean and comfortable place to stay. We also enjoyed seeing the farm animals. Thank you.
Very peaceful and quiet, with fresh eggs, butter, and coffee to get your morning started. Perfect location to explore this part of Texas. After a long day of visiting the cities in the area, was always nice to come home and enjoy the wine that was provided and seeing the animals with the mountain background.
Awesome place, highly recommend
We took full advantage of the fire pit, hot tub, grill and feeding all the sweet animals. It was very easy to find and close to town. I recommend going to Fort Davis and McDonald observatory. Check out Marfa too. Our stay at Lisa and Steve’s was unbelievably wonderful! They are fantastic people that make you feel like old friends. I will truly miss the beauty of the property and plan to come back soon. -A Husband here. Have any doubts about this place? Stop & just book it.
Lisa is very welcoming and accommodating—the space is well-furnished and comfortable, the hot tub is perfect for stargazing and we absolute loved the complementary wine and fresh eggs from her hens! The farm animals are a definite plus :) Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Loved this charming little cabin!!! Beautifully decorated, it had everything we needed, was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious for a small space. It was a joy to wake up and see the goats, chickens and horse right outside our window.
A very beautiful quiet place. This place has everything you need. The wine and the farm fresh eggs were a great touch. I wish we would have had time to meet the hosts. We just stayed one night and left fairly early in the morning. My wife loved the place. We would definitely stay their again!
Everything was perfect about our stay. Beautiful, spacious, and quiet. Very close to Alpine makes it a perfect spot to get to the areas sight seeing.
We loved our stay at the guesthouse! Lisa and Steve were gracious hosts, and the accommodations were comfortable and homey. The bottle of wine and eggs from their chickens were a welcome touch. We especially enjoyed looking out the window at the goats, chickens, horse, and cows and meeting the resident dog, Shadow. Although very close to the the center of Alpine, we felt like we were far out in the country, waking up to the rooster crowing and ending the day with a breathtaking view of the stars in the pitch-black night sky. We will definitely return.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners and their sweet dog, Shadow. They instantly made us feel welcomed. There were fresh eggs from their chickens and a bottle of wine in the fridge waiting for us. The hot tub felt refreshing every night after our long hikes at Big Bend. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to family and friends.
We loved the description and photos of this place and expected a great visit to the Alpine area, but we got much more than we expected! Lisa is a the best kind of hostess and her husband Steve have set up the perfect get away with clear and easy expectations in the process. They are charming and friendly, making our stay a great one! Everything was the best... clean, quiet, cozy, comfortable, convenient to town and really cool and fun! We had everything we needed, and more than we expected. Such a great deal. We had family staying next door and thier place and stay was perfect, too. We look forward to staying there every time we visit the area. What a treat!
Peaceful atmosphere of the guest house allowed us to embrace the slow-paced lifestyle of Alpine. Can’t wait to go back!
We had a lovely stay and visit with the animals! Lisa was hospitable and generous with her eggs and peppers too 😁 We will definitely visit again!
Initially had a little difficulty finding the correct door - it's through the gate on the left side of the house and the last door before the fence. Once inside, we were met with a beautiful space as well as a bottle of wine and a carton of fresh eggs. We drank the wine in the hottub while stargazing under the clear West Texas Skies, and then woke up the next morning and made the eggs - they were delicious and the place provided everything we needed to make them. Just outside the door there is a patio area with the hottub, fire pit, and a seating area. Adjacent to that is a fenced in area with chickens, horses, and goats. I was initially concerned that the sounds of the animals might keep us awake but we couldn't hear a peep from inside the space! To the side of the house is another area where there were cows and more chickens. There were also a friendly dog and cat that came to hang out with us - they were both very sweet. Overall a great experience!
We can't say enough good about this cute casita & the hospitality of Steve & Lisa. We were out in the Alpine area for a quiet getaway this fall & were looking for a place that was scenic & easy to relax in. We definitely found it. The room was clean, private & quiet. The location was excellent being only a couple miles out of Alpine. The views were so nice & we enjoyed all of their sweet animals. Coffee in the morning & wine in the evening out on the deck was a nice way to start & end our days. We truly enjoyed our evening around the fire pit visiting with Steve & Lisa too. The place is exactly as described & we recommend it highly to anyone who is visiting in the Alpine area. We will definitely be going back!
This was a birthday get-away for my sweetheart......a life-long dream to visit the Big Bend area for her first time. Steve and Lisa, our hosts, were wonderful. The room was clean and charming with all necessary amenities. What a treat to find fresh farm eggs and a complimentary bottle of wine! Having the farm animals around made us feel at home. The views around the guest house were spectacular. It was a magical experience relaxing in the hot tub while gazing up at the starry skies. We really like the idea of signing a rock rather than the traditional guestbook. Nice touch! We had an amazing experience, and look forward to staying in the SIERRA MOUNTAIN VIEW guesthouse again.
Great, relaxing environment!
Property was everything I was expecting and even more. The owners were very sweet and very accommodating. Will definitely book again in the future
Beautiful spot! Well appointed accomodations. Enjoyed grilling dinner and home cooked breakfast with fresh eggs. Would love to return.
The photo really doesn't do it justice. Katy LOVES animals and this place is almost an Eden. The small goats, chickens and roosters, ducks, a horse, and two adopted calves just recently weened. They all lived together in the same pen / barnyard area...in harmony! Don't you wish our society could be like that - ahh, humans. What can you say. And the room was spotless. We had total privacy and comfort. I loved riding my bike from there. It's just past the airport and the DPS on the North side of town. In fact, Katy got her driver's license renewed in minutes! No one else in line! In Houston the parking is difficult and lines are incredibly long, running out the door and down the sidewalk.
We had an amazing time! Lisa was such a wonderful host. Complimentary bottle of wine, coffee, and fresh eggs. You can’t beat that. It’s the little things That make a big difference.
This is a great find! Very clean and comfortable. We'll definitely come back! We enjoyed the views and a nice morning walk looking at the mountains. There were horses, chickens, goats, and cows that came right up to the window. The owners were on the property but we only saw them when they were feeding the animals. It was nice to know they were nearby if we needed anything.
Well I’ve stayed at many places and you always hold your breath when you arrive because you never know. This property is located perfectly in alpine and just a short drive to Marfa . The guest house I stayed in was perfect , spotless and updated . The owner Lisa was great communicating prior to arriving and while I was there . The day I was there it was over 100 outside and inside the AC was working perfect to keep it at 73 :) Also the property was a mini farm , chickens goats , cows and the property was spotless ... I assure you this place is better the. Any hotel you will find . I would 100 % stayed here again.
Everything was as promised on the website. We will stay again when in the area.
My wife and I could not have been happier with our stay. The property owners very hospitable. They even gave us a bottle of wine and farm fresh eggs from their free range chickens that they own. Whether we were sitting in the hot tub or on the porch looking out at the big west Texas sky, it was something magical about it. We will definitely be back!
We loved our stay. The owner was so accommodating and the hospitality was wonderful. The room was comfortable, AC worked great, (it was over 100 degrees outside!), and there was a bottle of wine waiting for us. A great retreat after a long day of hiking. We would stay there again!
We enjoyed our one night stay in our travels to Big Bend! The hosts here have thought of everything!
Can’t wait to go back
Stayed 2 nights and if ever in the area would stay again. Clean, comfortable and the owner was a hoot! My wife loved it and said I did a great job picking out this place. I would recommend to anyone planning on staying in the area.
Everything was as advertised! The slightly outside of town location suited my tastes (as well as our dogs') well. I only saw the owners briefly but both seemed friendly. I would certainly stay again if our travels take us back to the Big Bend region.
Celebrating a friend’s birthday and spent a night after Big Bend. Such a treat as we toured the town of Alpine. Beautiful night in their room made of homemade furniture, and lovely hosts! Enjoyed finishing the night under the stars. Highly recommend!!
The property was impeccable from the landscape to the animal care. The spacious room was welcoming and there is keen attention to detail. Loved the bathroom tile work! Lisa and her husband are fabulous hosts!
We spent over a week in Lisa's and Steve's guesthouse. They are very welcoming, friendly and interesting to talk to. A clean, well equipped, comfortable space to relax, inside and on the patio. An outstanding place for birding, star gazing and exploring the area. Lisa's goats, chickens, calves, horse and dog all entertaining to watch. We brought our dog on the trip, she was fascinated by Lisa's animals. Whenever we come back to the Alpine area, there will be no need to look anywhere else to stay. Lisa and Steve, thank you for a wonderful stay.
I loved my stay, everything was perfect. My favorite part was hanging with the farm animals and hot tubbing at night. I would definitely stay again when I’m in the area.
We enjoyed our stay so much. It was exactly as described. I can highly recommend to anyone. Our sweet dog Sophia enjoyed meeting the goats, chickens and horse.
Very nice. It was a quiet get away and we were able to relax when we weren't sightseeing. Lisa and Steve have created a great little sanctuary. Will recommend this place to friends.
Beautiful view!! Very welcoming with wine, and fresh eggs! Small farm with goats, chickens, calves, friendly and sweet family dog, cat, and horse. Bed comfortable and inviting. Had everything we needed!! Highly recommend!!
My trip was a gift from my husband for me to have a solo getaway to a part of Texas I love. Lisa and Steve’s guesthouse was the perfect space, and they were great hosts. The guesthouse is super clean, well furnished and quiet. One of things I enjoyed most was being with their many chickens, goats, calves and the cottontails who romped through the pasture with the farm animals. Shadow, their friendly dog and Aggie the cat made several appearances. After hiking and driving the scenic routes, it was wonderful to come back and relax outdoors with a glass of wine and Shadow while I waited for the stars to shine. I have told friends about this great place. I plan to return for another stay. Gail Reid Austin
After camping/hiking in Big Bend for a week, this was the perfect place to relax before making the long drive home. The owner's went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The Casita has everything you need to make a meal, including fresh eggs from the owner's chickens. The hot tub has an amazing view overlooking the goat/chicken pen, and the Texas sky stretches on and on. Excellent star gazing!
What can I say? We enjoyed every second of our stay here. Lisa and Steve are fantastic hosts and went above and beyond to make us and our dog feel right at home. The animal watching while sitting on the back porch was relaxing and the accommodations are top notch. We will be back.
My boyfriend and I had the best time here! Super clean, welcoming, and beautiful. It was the perfect location and scenery to walk up to everyday. Lots of cute animals and comfy place to cook and feel like home. We are already planning on coming back to stay.
My girlfriend and I loved every bit of this place! Lisa and Steve were very welcoming, their place is beautiful and quiet, and the animals were definitely the cherry on top. I'll definitely be recommending this place to people staying in the area.
What a hidden gem! The pictures don't do it justice. Lisa was such a great host, plenty of wonderful hospitality touches & lots of privacy. We loved looking at the stars in the hot tub. My dog Bailey had a great time playing with Lisa's dog. Such a great spot & a lovely stay! Thanks, Lisa!!
Lisa is the best! She is so hospitable and welcoming, and her property is absolutely beautiful. It’s only a short drive to downtown Alpine and Marfa, but you still get the peace and quiet of being on a ranch. A perfect place to stay! I would recommend it to anyone and I’m hoping to go back soon. Thanks again, Lisa!
Lisa and Steve are great hosts. The room was big, clean and comfortable. The view from the yard was spectacular. We loved the fire pit. Unfortunately we couldn't take the strong cold wind so we didn't take advantage of the hot tub or fire pit. They had several animals, a friendly dog and an orange cat named Aggie, a horse, chickens, calves and goats. Baby goats were born while we were there. I loved the cars in the garage. The wine and fresh eggs were a nice touch. We have already told friends about this guesthouse and we will return sometime. Thanks Lisa and Steve Harold and Kieran
Animals were terrific! Very clean and nice amenities. Good location with accessibility.
Mountain View is a great stay with perfect hospitality and facilities. Wine and eggs from the “local” hens were a great and welcome touch, the guest house itself was excellent, well equipped and furnished. I enjoyed the morning welcome from the goats, hens, and horse, especially when I had something to treat them with. We hope to be back and would not hesitate to to recommend to others.
Could not have chosen a better place to stay! Place was very clean and had plenty of room for us and the dogs. Will most definitely be back on our next trip to Alpine!
From the minute we arrived, we totally enjoyed our stay. The guest house was so clean and inviting. We will definitely be going back for another stay.
Thanks again we really enjoyed staying at your property. The room was great, clean, and had everything we needed. We look forward to coming back!
I’ve stayed at this property several times. It is beautiful, clean & conveniently located for all WTX activities.
Our stay was great and the home was wonderful ! Lisa and her family really made us feel welcome and our dog Kenzo had a great time as well. The room was clean and I even got to pet and feed their horse, Thor. If you get the opportunity, you had to check this place out!
We will definitely stay at this property again. It was a perfect place for my wife and I to get away for a few days. The sunrise and sunsets are beautiful. If you are going to stay in Alpine don't think twice about staying anywhere else.
The hosts were super responsive. The place was cute and had everything we needed to make our own dinner. Waking up feeding goats and a horse? Yes, please! Bring some carrots or something for the animals to snack on and you’ll be an instant hit!
I really enjoyed my stay. Everything as it is described in the listing. The owners are there if you need them but never around when you're working or want to relax. The ranch animals lend their charm and the views are amazing. Can't imagine there is a better value out there, great experience.
Our hosts provided a super VRBO that we enjoyed immensely! It was updated, airy and very clean with a great bed. We loved being outside of town, but so very close, and the sunsets were awe inspiring. (We miss Shadow and.....the chickens, too.) We will return :)
Had a great time. Perfect place to stay.
The property was beautiful. Great weather while we were there. The cabin is very well built and furnished. We had a great stay; cooked several of our own meals(saved on eating out). We took in the Marfa Lights, Fort Davis, and we spent one day in the Big Bend National Park at the Chisos Mountains hiking. We want to say thank you to our host for sharing their property with us! They even provided us with farm fresh eggs to cook for breakfast! We did get acquainted with the animals. Very relaxing place and a million stars to look at each night.
With a hot tube, beautiful mountain views and peaceful, quite surroundings Unit was clean and comfortable with all the basics. Recommended
We stayed at Lisa’s place and it’s absolutely gorgeous. 5 minutes outside of Alpine but you feel so much further. You have a gorgeous view of the mountains and when we arrived the chickens and goats ran up to see us (Behind a fence for anyone scared) which was a lovely welcome! The place is amazing, has everything you need and more importantly a hot tub that looks out to the mountwins, Lisa also left us wairy wine and chocolates which was a nice touch. In short, book this place you won’t be disappointed.
Let's see where do I start. Hot tub- perfect 102-103deg, i know cause this is where I keep mine Grill- perfect, cooked out twice TV- perfect, got to watch the Astros win Kitchen, everything I needed, although I brought my Wolf blender for margaritas and my Technovorm coffee maker (I always do) Bathroom- very nice design even though no tub (hey just sit in the hot tub) Bed- That might be the only issue as it is a queen. My wife and I like lots of real estate but a king might not fit so well with the layout. It's hard to leave my Tempurpedic at home Views- outstanding, it's easy to just sit and stare Barnyard animals- entertaining, to say the least, they are Lisa's children (i mean pets) Stargazing- I have the ipad app and sat out every evening and up in the mornings to view the sky. Counted 16 shooting stars, most of the planets, major stars and clusters with naked eye Close to town and other activities Very easy to find Park 20ft from the door Steve, Lisa's husband is a car guy, so am I Beautiful landscaping The host were there when you needed them and not when you didn't. We will be back for sure, maybe sooner than later
Fresh eggs! A beautiful view! Great location. Peaceful and quiet. A lovely place!
The animals were joyful to watch and pet. The stargazing was spectacular. Would absolutely return! Breakfast was a nice surprise!
Everything about this place was top notch without losing West Texas style. Room was meticulously clean. Comfortable bed. Great location for many activities. Fort Davis around 20 miles, Marfa around 20 miles. Wonderful restaurants in town. Gateway to Big Bend. Animals (chickens, horse, goats) right outside window but no farm smell. Like living on a farm but only 2 miles from town. Lisa was very accommodating and friendly. Greeting us with a dozen fresh eggs and a bottle of wine.
We loved everything about our stay. The guest house was perfect but the views and the animals were the cherry on top. We will definitely be staying again!
We celebrated our 1 year anniversary by hiking Guadalupe Peak and the South Rim at Big Bend National Park. This was the perfect middle point to stop and relax, regroup and get a good nights rest between hikes. The horse, chickens, and goats were very entertaining to watch while grilling on the patio. Then we enjoyed the hot tub to help work out some of the soreness from our first hike. The owners showed the upmost hospitality! Thank you Lisa and Steve for letting us stay at your gorgeous ranch. We will be back.
It was the perfect get away for my husband and I. We will be back.
My wife and I stayed a night. Lisa was very helpful and attentive. The space was clean and cozy. Great views with the farm animals and mountains.
It was the perfect little guesthouse for us! Everything we needed with a view and fun pets too. We would stay there again for sure! Robin San Antonio, Tx
I love visiting Alpine but the nicer hotels are on the high end. I have stayed at both of the units they offer and love them both. Since it was just me this time I stayed in the smaller unit which is definitely made for 1 person or a loving couple. Everything is clean and very nicely maintained. The bed is comfortable and the views amazing. Hosts are friendly and stay out of your way. Yes the smaller unit is essentially in their backyard but they are never imposing. If you want more privacy stay in the other unit. You would hardly even know anyone else was around except when you walk out front where you park your car. Thank you for the wine and fresh eggs. They were wonderful and appreciated. I'll be back to stay again soon.
Beautiful property and atmosphere. There were fresh eggs and bottle of wine in the fridge waiting on us to enjoy. Lisa and Steve were wonderful and enjoyed watching the animals in the evening. Beautifully furnished comfy bed. We'll definitely stay here when we come back.
The goats, the wine, the eggs, the immaculately clean room, what more could you want? Well we got more because the hot tub under the clear night sky was amazing and we even got the pleasure of meeting all the animals in the morning. Great stay, would recommend to anyone.
Our stay in Alpine was great thanks to Lisa and Steve and the amazing room we rented. The cabin was so pretty and the bed excellent for a great nights sleep. I loved the kitchen and shopped at Porters on 5th for great food and fresh vegetables. Loved drinking my coffee in the morning and watching the baby goats and beautiful bay horse. We loved our long walks and beautiful star filled nights star gazing in the hot tub. It is such a short drive to Ft. Davis were we had an amazing time . The Davis Mountains are a must see and Alpine is the best place to stay.Lisa has the grounds so beautiful with flowers and great design in the walkways and gates. I loved the modern western design in the cabin and beautiful shower. We felt so safe and loved our stay. Loved the family dog who walked with us.
My elementary-aged son and I stayed for a West Texas adventure right after school was over, and this place was amazing. Great for being at home and helping with the animals if we chose, then relaxing in the hot tub or with a fire in the fire pit. Plus we could get to Marfa, the Davis mountains, Fort Davis, and McDonald observatory easily. Owners were super helpful when I needed to print something I had forgotten to print and bring! Will stay again in this one or bring the whole family to stay in their additional property next time.
This place was wonderful! It was just enough out of town, but close enough to go up the road and enjoy the little shops downtown. It's not a far drive from big bend, mcdonald's observatory or the marfa lights. The property itself was very clean and very peaceful! The patio area was nice to sit at and enjoy the sunshine and watch the animals! Lisa and Steve were extremely friendly and helpful with information on places to see and go, definitely would rent this property again.
Everything at the property was perfect for us! Spotless accommodations, fresh eggs from their chickens and a great outdoor area for relaxing and visiting with the horse, goats, chickens and sweet dog Shadow. They are wonderful hosts and we will definitely be back!
Close to the charming downtown but just outside it so that the home was private and quiet. Clean and well designed. Loved the horse and animals.
This was an absolutely beautiful place to stay in Alpine! Lisa and Steve were very welcoming and even wrote a note to us. You can tell that they take pride in their abode! We were able to cook steaks with the grill and enjoyed the hot tub too. Being able to see the animals every morning was a plus and the goats were my favorite. It was located very close to the middle of Alpine and not that far from Fort Davis. Thanks for an amazing stay and we look forward to coming back!
This is the perfect place! Just enough out of town, but still close. The views alone are worth the stay. Hot tub looks at the mountain view, and the stars feel like an arms length away at night. Very charming room with a comfy bed. This is a must stay!
Booked for a belated birthday getaway. Wanted the bigger rental. But it was unavailable on dates of trip. This little rental was just as great! Very lovely and Lisa..... Well if you read other reviews. She was very awesome. The whole experience was awesome. And the eggs and wine are real, unlike the Marfa Lights :/ Strongly recommend for a stay. You won't be disappointed.
It was great! We loved everything, especially all the animals. If we're ever in Alpine we will definitely stay again.
We were blown away at how great this place was/is. The bungalow was finished out very nicely and we woke up every morning to a perfect view of the sun rising over the mountains. Steve and Lisa are wonderful people and gave us great information about the area. The farm fresh eggs and wine was a added plus, next time I don't have to bring my own!! This is truly a must stay and we will be back!!
What a lovely little guest house. We really enjoyed our stay, in this very clean and well cared for guest house. The bathroom was quite large, the kitchenette was stocked, and the bed was very comfortable. There was a little sitting area and a table in the corner where we ate our omelettes made from fresh eggs from the owner's chickens. And the view out the window was charming, lots of horses, chickens and baby goats. Thumbs up!!
This is an amazing little place. Lisa and Steve are friendly without being overbearing or in your way. They go out of their way to make this place adorable and incredibly clean. Everything people said about the wine and eggs are true. It just adds up and makes this feel like a special place. I would go back in a heartbeat. The hot tub was great at night after touring around all day to just sit and look at the stars. Again, it was also incredibly clean. We used this as a base camp to travel around Marfa, Big Bend, Terlingua and Fort Davis. Big Bend was much farther than I thought but I was glad to come back to a hot tub and relax after our trips. I would like to stay in that area longer next time. We only had a few nights. The animals are fun to watch when you wake up and you have everything you need if you want to cook there in the room. They even started a fire for us the first night since I requested one, but it ended up raining on us. Steve and Lisa, thank you again. This was one of my best experiences for a rental by owner.
We had everything but food here and Lisa was so nice and helpful. Would recommend the accommodations as the studio was lovely. Would love to stay another time for sure.
When we rented this place for our vacation, the pictures and description made us believe that we were the only ones there. We were very sad to find out that all the pictures, (the hammock, the hot tub) were on the owners house patio. The door to our little apartment opened up to the house patio. So if we were to get into the tub or the hammock (which we could not find) anyone from inside her house could watch us from inside the house. The place is very nice, and the owner, which we did not meet, was very generous with her farm fresh eggs and bottle of wine to help us enjoy our stay. The animals were awesome and fun to watch and pet, however there was another couple in the apartment next to us. I believe the entire place had about 4 or 5 apartments there. I would have not booked the place if I had known that we were going to be there with others. I wanted solitude and to be alone. The pictures on this page show and are deceptive that make you feel that you have privacy in which you have NONE unless you are inside. We ended up leaving 1 day early because we were so disappointed. I would hope that the owner will please restate that her back yard is RIGHT in front of your apartment door, as is her sliding glass doors to her home and living room. Pictures more accurately depicting privacy should also be posted.
We spent 4 nights and loved the property. It was so nice having the animals to watch. The baby goats were so entertaining. The guest house was spotless and the fresh farm eggs wonderful. We so enjoyed our visit. It was so nice to have a grill we cooked steaks. Had a wonderful New Years.
Beautiful Facility and great location to travel from ion the Big Bend Area. Owners instructions to the property and access was great I only gave it 4 stars due to all the mess left by the Peacocks all over the patio and BBQ.
We had a great time looking at the stars in the hot tub. The goats, chicken, and horses were adorable to hang out with in the morning. Great stay!
We stayed here for the second time just before Christmas 2016. The porch is a wonderful place to sit and read and drink coffee, the hot tub is a great place to watch the stars in a cold night, and Alpine is just about a five-minute drive. It's clean and if you're amused by animals it has lots of goats, chickens, peafowl, and a horse to keep you entertained. This is a great spot.
We went to Big Bend, Marfa, and McDonald Observatory over the course of a long weekend but the highlight of our trip was the time we spent at this house. First things first, the animals (chickens and goats and peacocks and a horse) are right out back from the house and they're so sweet and you're allowed to go hang out with them (there were two baby goats to pet!). The hot tub and fire pit and grill are wonderful and well maintained. Lisa was so sweet and, even though she was so great at respecting our privacy and not being intrusive, we kept seeking her out and chatting her up to learn about the area because she was so nice to talk to. The fresh laid eggs and bottle of wine and guest book were such nice touches. We had fun every place we went but were always the most excited just to get back to this lovely ranch at the end of the day and enjoy all the scenic views and amenities it has to offer. Can't wait to come back for another visit in the future.
Beautiful spot just on the outskirts of town. Made for a super relaxing weekend! Everything was very comfortable. Thank you Lisa and Steve! Will come back if we are ever in the area again.
Such a great place! Loved the fresh eggs in the morning!
Clean room, comfortable bed, hot tub, plus fresh eggs and wine made me a hero to my wife for choosing this place. Perfect ending to a great trip around the greater Big Bend area. Also, they get it with no extra fees.
My husband and I stayed here on are way to Indian Lodge for our anniversary. This place was great. Home away from home. It was cozy, but easily large enough for the two of us. We cooked dinner and breakfast, and the kitchen and furnishings were very useful. The complimentary wine and fresh eggs were a delicious and appreciated bonus! We enjoyed the peacocks, chickens, horse and goats. At night my husband and I sat out on the patio and enjoyed the stars in the night sky. Lisa was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. We would like to go back for a longer stay!
We celebrated our #30 Anniv at Lisa & Steve's newly constructed retreat. This beautiful area of Texas was a great location for our day trips to Fort Davis, McDonald Observatory & Big Bend. We looked forward to returning after our daily adventure to a charming, relaxed setting w/hot tub. They couldn't have been more accommodating and topped it off with fresh eggs! Can't wait to come back and see the Gameroom they're working on.
This casita is perfect for a couple that likes all the amenities of a home. The mini kitchen was stocked with basic pantry items and the hostess left a bottle of wine and a dozen fresh eggs in the fridge. Bed slept great. Oversized tiled shower. No bathtub, but there is a hot tub outside. The landscaping was nice and the view of the sunsets and nearby mountains was fantastic.
We would definitely stay here again.
We loved the quaint secluded cottage. The cottage was very inviting. We enjoyed our beautiful mountain view and the Farm eggs were delicious. We will definitely be back to visit and plan to book our stay with Lisa. Her hospitality and kindness was much appreciated. We loved our visit to Alpine and can't wait to come back to visit.
Thank you so much Lisa and Steve for sharing your guest house with us! We had everything we needed and then some. The bottle of wine ended the day beautifully! Hope we have the occasion to make it back that way.
As we arrived we were greeted by Shadow the ranch dog who was super sweet and waggin' her tail letting us know life is good and you will love it here! Cute little place just far enough away from town to see the beautiful stars at night as you relax and let the worries of the world melt away in the Hot Springs spa. Everything was super clean and orderly! Steve & Lisa have a real spirit of excellence about them and make you feel right at home! We wished we had booked another night here and will definitely have to come back again! Oh, they are in the process of completing a little larger getaway place on the other side of the garage that looks awesome! This will be great if you need a space for some friends or family on your West Texas journey!
We very much enjoyed our stay. The bed is super comfortable!!! The location is perfect for visiting the area. Nice and spacious plus it was very clean. Highly recommended and we would stay again if we have the opportunity.
We had a great experience staying here. Great communication from the owner. We had a late check in and it was no problem. The place itself was lovely, just enough space for the two of us. Beautiful landscaping and I loved the farm animals. Bonus wine and fresh eggs were a super sweet touch. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Our stay was incredibly relaxing. Would recommend to anyone.
My Fiance and I had a great stay here while visiting Marfa and a couple of state parks in the area. Would highly recommend.
We were in Alpine for a conference and needed to stay a couple of nights. This place was perfect for ranch people. There are chickens, goats, a horse, a dog, a cat, and a couple of peacocks to visit with; places to sit outside in the morning and evening, and it's far enough out of town to be quiet and dark at night. The owner is friendly and low-key, which I like. The little kitchen is just right and there were even fresh eggs in the fridge. There is a nice selection of pans, dishes, utensils, and appliances including a coffeemaker and a toaster. The bed is comfortable and the entire place is squeaky clean. I'll be staying here every time I have business in Alpine.
This is an extremely clean, well kept and quiet guest rental. Lisa was fantastic and very welcoming. As someone who travels routinely for business it is nice to find these hidden gems. If you are in the area and want a nice place to stay I highly recommend! I hope to stay again on my return trips.
