Villa Etnamare is situated up on a hill overlooking the green East coast of Sicily, between Mount Etna and the Ionian sea. It is surrounded by a land of five hectares dotted with heavily laden citrus trees and flowers.
Its huge, 25 meter long infinity pool is set amongst orange and olive trees on a natural terrace offering spectacular views of the Volcano and of the whole coastline as far as Catania, Giardini Naxos and Taormina.
The villa is divided into three independent units, with private terraces. The choice to divide such a large property into a few units was made by the homeowners, who built it from the foundations, to preserve its exclusivity but at a more affordable cost.

The unit GIRASOLE and its large terrace occupy the entire south-east wing of the villa, with amazing sea and Mt. Etna views either from inside and outside.
The interiors consist of three double bedrooms, two full bathrooms with shower and a living room with a fully equipped kitchen.
Girasole is equipped with hot/cold air-conditioners, LCD TV, oven, refrigerator, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen, free wi-fi. The interior is carefully chosen with high quality materials.

SURROUNDINGS
Villa EtnAmare lies only 500 metres away from Santa Venerina. This quiet, landscaped town of 8000 inhabitants is dedicated to gastronomic tourism and offers an impressive number of excellent cafes, restaurants and wineries, many of which are within walking distance.
Two supermarkets and a couple of groceries and bakeries are 5 minutes walk, while the nearest shopping mall, Conforama, which is open even on Sunday, is at 10 minutes driving distance.

Santa Venerina is an excellent base from which to explore eastern Sicily, thanks to its very strategic position halfway between Catania and Taormina.
The town is 5 minutes drive from the motorway A18 Catania-Messina from which, in an average time of 20 minutes, you can reach the highlights of Eastern Sicily, such as Taormina, Alcantara Gorge, Catania, Acicastello, Acireale, Mt Etna and Giardini Naxos. The nearest beaches can be found at 10 minutes drive.

The villa is also an excellent starting point from which to explore Mount Etna and its surroundings. Rifugio Sapienza, the main ski area, where you can take the Etna cableway up to Mount Etna, is 10 km away from the villa.

The sun of Sicily holds the record in Europe and maintains a mild climate throughout the year. Spring is the ideal time to enjoy the culture and nature that this island has to offer. It’s well worth making a trip just to experience the Easter processions, bringing together folklore and tradition in an incredibly mystic way. The interior is spectacular, with the mountain slopes exploding in colour, while on the coast the first bathers start taking to the beaches. In autumn, throughout October and mid-November, the sea water is still warmed by the summer sun, and the daytime temperature still reaches 30°c during the warmest hours. Festivals dedicated to local products such as wine, mushrooms and sweets are organized in many towns on the slopes of Etna. Our apartments are suitable for winter, Christmas and New Year. The weather between December and March can often be mild and sunny, but each of the apartments have a cozy quality allied to good heating systems and plenty of indoor space just in case!

We were a group of 14 and had the most amazing stay at Villa Etnamare. Nadia was very responsive to our needs. The Villa was spacious and clean. The pool was amazing and the kids had a blast. The area has great restaurants and it was a great base for our vacation in Sicily.

We loved hearing the birds in the early morning with the sun coming up over the sea. It was our last few days in Sicily, time to relax before our trip home.

This place was outstanding we stayed 12 nights the communication was perfect, the assistance for ANYTHING was ideal. The orchards and flowers, deck, fireworks (not their doing but we were there at the perfect time of year I suppose) were all to dream of when we get back to Canada. The only fault and it was of NO doing of their own, is the bees love the one corner of the pool (which is exactly as awesome if not better than they described otherwise). We were in the larger of the main floor units and it was perfect for our family of 3. We could come and go, work and stay or eat home or away, it all was a dream. I would 1000% stay again. Do NOT miss out on the 5 Botti restaurant their gate is beside the front gate of EtnaMare. Be sure to also get a tour and tasting at Murgo Winery while you are visiting, honestly couldn’t have picked a better spot for us, and I’m sure you’ll love it as well. Ciao and see you soon!

Villa Etnamare is fabulous. Our apartment was very well equipped and clean, and view we had from our terrace was superb - the sea on one side and Etna on the other. Perfect sat with glass of wine in the evening. The pool is fantastic, equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas. The owners are a lovely family and very friendly, being able to answer any queries we had. The town itself has everything you need. You may think at first that there's nothing there but once you start wondering around you'll find plenty of shops and restaurants. We highly recommend the one at the end of the villa drive. We wouldn't hesitate to return to Villa Etnamare if we were in this area again. Highly recommended.

We had a relaxing stay. Coffee in the morning and wine in the evening on the lovely patio overlooking the sea. Spectacular views of Mt Etna from the pool. Nadia was very helpful with suggestions and recommendations.

We were happy with the facility in the middle of nowhere. When we arrived the town was deserted and we thought everyone moved out. Our GPS wouldn't have led us there. Follow Nadia's directions. One would never believe that such a beautiful plac could be in the middle of that area. The place was beautiful and the pool was out of this world. Everything was clean. Loved having our own washing machine. Internet was non existent for the first 2 days until Fabio rebooted things and gave us another network to access, but promptly terminated that arrangement the morning of our departure. Location was relatively convenient to shopping, beach and highways. The views in all directions were spectacular. A/C worked well. Drip coffee pot was nice but we had to use paper filter many times because the filters were not for sale in Santa Venerina which had plenty of gas stations. I would suggest visitors bring their own filters. Nadia and Fabio were welcoming.

We stayed here (in the Girasole apartment) in late May and had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. The villa is lovely: it is modern, clean and very well looked after; the rooms are large and airy, and our apartment and its beautiful terrace had stunning sea views. The grounds are also super - we enjoyed walking around them, sitting by the pool, swimming in it and just enjoying the peace and birdsong. The photos on the website don't exaggerate: if anything, the real-life experience is even better! Our wonderful hosts (Dario, Nadia, and her father) encouraged us to take fruit from the orchard, so we got to eat fresh grapefruits and cherries every day (and we would have had oranges instead if we'd been a few weeks earlier), and we swam in the pool most days (in spite of it being a bit cold - it is a few degrees cooler than Catania, being in the foothills of Etna). At this time of year (and in August), Etna is quite cloudy during the daytime, but we could see it smoking in the early morning and late afternoon. We could walk into the picturesque village (Santa Venerina), where there was a wonderful shop selling local produce, as well as a supermarket, restaurant, fish shop, butchers, cheese shop (selling ricotta made daily from sheep which grazed in the villa's pasture!), and others; we happily cooked in the villa kitchen most days. It was an easy 20 minute drive to the Giarre-Riposta station, from where we could get trains to Catania or Taormina if we didn't want to drive all the way there (and parking was fairly cheap - just a few euros, but make sure to have coins!), and we could also drive to Etna with ease. One of the days, we took the Circumetnea train around Etna from just next to the Giarra-Riposta station, which was a very pretty journey. (Again, have cash to buy tickets - no cards accepted.) Other days, we just rested at the villa, enjoying the balcony, the grounds, the peace, the views and the sounds. The whole villa and village also felt very safe. We could not have had a nicer holiday, and we would very much like to go back again. We'd highly recommend it.
