The Walnut | East Ruston Cottages

We had an absolutely brilliant holiday at The Walnut. The property had everything we needed, owners are lovely, facilities perfect for us and our young Labrador. Easy driving distance to the beach and Broads. We couldn’t have asked for any more!

We had a great week, the cottage was very clean and a nice welcome pack to greet us on arrival. This was our second visit to the cottage, we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Great cottage and location.

We had a lovely stay a the Walnut. A warm welcome from the owners on arrival and cottage was lovely, comfortable and cosy. We had beautiful weather for our stay and took advantage of the lovely patio. Dogs loved the paddock.

We normally stay in Bumblebee on the same site but needed extra space. Walnut is charming and very well equipped. There’s been thought put into the decor, equipment and finish. It’s spotlessly clean and its location for beach and countryside walks is perfect. The owners are on site, friendly and discreet. They take a real pride in the place and providing the perfect holiday environment. We will be back, that’s the truth! Back to bumblebee in November!!

From the moment we booked we were kept up to date with all the information we required. Paul and Stella were amazing hosts. They have thought of everything you could possibly want in a holiday let. Would definately book through east Ruston cottages again

A lovely week in this gorgeous dog friendly home. Beautifully designed and spacious, friendly hosts, great paddock for the dog to run around in, in between trips to the beach and the woods. Location of fab, great access to all of the north Norfolk beaches, cafes and towns with great facilities. Addition of the hot tub was a real treat! Will stay again, either at the Walnut or Peanut or Bumblebee who are in the same location.

We had a wonderful week. Helped by fabulous weather most days. Cart Gap beach is nothing short of amazing and our Oscar loved it (as did we). The hosts, Paul and Stella are lovely and really helpful. We’re grateful to them for making everything so easy and welcoming. The arrival hamper had some lovely treats for all of us too - thank you. The hot tub is a brilliant addition to the property, we’d never used one before but it was a real novelty and we enjoyed it. The dog facilities are brilliant too and the paddock superb for having fun and games in in a safe environment. Overall, a lovely stay and we didn’t want to leave.

What a wonderful hideaway from the world! From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. The Walnut is immaculate, fresh and so welcoming. It had everything we needed for a peaceful, relaxing stay. Our pups loved the paddock and time on the beach. Dog toys, treats, towels and the outdoor dog wash were wonderful! We all came away feeling relaxed and refreshed. A great getaway with the pups!

The Walnut is a little gem. Everything is provided for both humans and dogs. It’s warm, comfortable and well equipped. The location is perfect for country and beach walks and we did both every day - a great way to wear our 9 month old puppy out!

Dogs and I loved it so much the first time, we decided to return with the husband, My collie obviously remembered it as he went straight to the basket where the dog toys are kept and demand barked for it to be opened! Fabulous beach walk in the morning, walk to a dog friendly pub for lunch followed by afternoon in hot tub over looking the fields.

1st time stay @ The Walnut & just the same std as used to from ER cottages. Clean & tidy. Nice welcome pack for both dogs & humans. Everything needed for stay is included, inc throws for dogs to sit on sofa's. Hot Tub is a nice touch, & well sheltered location. Great dog field for them to play in, seat for humans to rest on. Private parking spot just by your own gate. Owners very friendly & nothing is a issue. Actual location of cottage is good, & not far from everything you need. Love the surrounding area. so quiet & peaceful.

The Walnut was everything we hoped for and more! Stella and Paul made sure that we were settled in on our arrival and assured us that if there was anything we needed they were just next door. The Walnut is beautiful and is fully equipped for dogs and humans! The welcome hamper was lovely with delicious local produce and lots of treats for Dennis the Cockapoo - the reason we were there!! Dennis loved his trips to the beach but I think he loved the paddock even more. The Walnut is brilliantly situated for visiting lots of great places and Norfolk is probably the most ‘dog friendly’ area we have been to. There is plenty of information in The Walnut regarding places to visit and eat. One place we would thoroughly recommend is The Star we had some amazing food and Dennis was treated like a VIP with lots of meaty treats!! Many thanks to Stella and Paul because of their hard work and eye for detail we had an amazing week. We would definitely recommend The Walnut.

We couldn’t have wished for anything more Paul and Stella went above with helping us and the holiday was relaxing can’t wait to go back.

Everything was perfect, everything is to a very high standard, spotlessly clean, everything was provided, beautiful hamper, lovely surprise anniversary gift. Loved cooking with the AGA . Sharing the paddock with the other guests was good and wasn’t a problem. The hot tub was a bonus and we used it a lot, so peaceful looking at the views. We can’t wait to go back. The owners made you feel so welcome .

We absolutely loved our stay at the cosy Walnut cottage. Stella and Paul had thought of everything make you feel so welcome, like the generous welcome hamper and toweling robes. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and gazing at the beautiful views. Buster and Tom loved their runs around the paddock which is totally safe for them. If the dogs could they’d definitely be booking again soon and we’d love to return too. I would book again and recommend to friends.

Walnut cottage is beautifully presented ,immaculately clean and a perfect stay for our family and our dog . The moment you walk through the gate you are immediately drawn to hot tub ! Seating outside is so comfortable ,I don't think we have ever stayed at a cottage that has such comfortable seating areas inside and out ,it makes a big difference to a holiday to have this ,especially if you are just wanting to relax. Stella and Paul are fantastic hosts ,so welcoming and friendly and nothing was to much trouble . The welcome hamper was just what we needed after a long drive, so much thought had gone into it . The paddock for the dog was brilliant and surrounding area is very peaceful. Our dog loved the bed that was provided along with treats ,toys and towels. We hope to return to this amazing place one day . Thank you!
