This pretty property is all on one level, and has a fantastic location in the centre of the village - yet only five minutes walk from the beach. The cottage has been completely renovated and refurbished throughout by the current owners, to provide a high standard of accommodation.

The front door opens into the entrance hall, which leads through to a living room on the right with comfortable sofas and a smart TV. Theround dining table has seating for four people, or you can dine al fresco in the wonderful private garden. The cottage has an unusual layout, with one bathroom leading off the living room which has a shower over the bath, WC and a washbasin. The well equipped kitchen is also accessed from the living room, and has an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, slimline dishwasher and microwave.

In the other half of this quirky double roundhouse you'll find two beautifully furnished bedrooms. The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and smart TV, as well as an en-suite wet room with a shower, WC and a washbasin. Bedroom two has standard size double bed and TV.

Outside The Cranny is set within it's own cottage style garden - a private oasis in the middle of the village. There's off road parking for 1-2 cars. Up to a maximum of two dogs are welcome at The Cranny. Dogs are welcome throughout living areas of the property, but please keep them off the furniture.

We had seen this cottage on previous visits to Winterton on Sea and this time stayed here. All I can say is ‘Wow’ it lived up to and exceeded expectations. Everything about this cottage was perfect to the point I could live in it. The garden is beautiful and secure. We have booked again before leaving, I think that says it all.

We had a fantastic relaxing weekend at The Cranny. Just the two of us and the dogs. Literally a stone's throw from the pub, beach, fish and chip shop, convenience store and two excellent cafes, one of which overlooked the beach. The beach and dunes go on for miles, so there was no need to go anywhere else the whole weekend as everything was close at hand. Communication was excellent, both from Winterton Cottages and the host, with welcome texts containing all the information we needed in advance. All in all a fantastic cottage (even our escape artist dog couldn't find a way out!), very clean and welcoming. Would definitely recommend to anyone seeking a weekend away where you can just leave the car parked up until you need to go home - reluctantly!

What a wonderful cottage in a truly magnificent location. On arrival, the cottage is 'chocolate box' perfection. In a quiet location yet there is everything you need in the village. A gentle 5 minute stroll down to the beach means you have everything you could possibly need on your doorstep. The Cranny was clean and well maintained with a beautiful garden surrounding the cottage. The welcome package was a lovely surprise and went down a treat. We didn't want to leave and wished we had booked 2 weeks. We will definitely be returning and are already looking at dates for next year.

The cottage is unique, well equipped, handily tucked away near the Fisherman's Return pub and within walking distance of everything Winterton has to offer for a week by the sea. The Cranny had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday with the added bonus of a lovely wraparound garden which was safe and secure for our dog. We were worried that the village and beach would be too busy in mid August but it wasn't a problem. Everywhere was dog friendly with good signage on where to keep dogs on leads to avoid ground nesting birds or disturbance to wildlife. There was plenty of room on the long sandy beach to avoid the holiday makers and the little tern colony. We can highly recommend the walk along the beach to Horsey, watching the seals bobbing up along the way, lunch at the Nelson's Head and back via the National Nature Reserve We found that both the cafes were excellent for an early breakfast before the day trippers arrived and that it's best to book at the pub to be sure of a table. We can also recommend the Fish and Chip shop with a top tip to order online to avoid the long queues at busy times. We are already planning to return for an autumn/spring long weekend.

Although not our first visit and stay in Winterton on Sea, it was our first stay at The Cranny. It was great to find everything located so conveniently. Just around the corner from The Cranny, the Fishermans Return is only a few steps away. The local corner shop, the chip shop, Poppys Tea Room (great food) and Post office are all close. It's not too far to drive to the Co-op store if you are looking for a larger place to shop than the local store. The beach is a short walk away, across the dunes, to what I consider to be the best beach in Norfolk. My ten year old Cockapoo loves Winterton beach more than anywhere else. It was lovely to see a few seals bobbing about in the sea most days too. The Cranny itself had all the conveniences of home and the large garden was really lovely, with a couple of paved seating areas. Plenty of room for dogs to safely run around without fear of them escaping. We also visited Wroxham Barns, which is nice if you have young children as there is also a small animal farm within the site. Poppylands, a 1940's tea room, in Horsey, was well worth the visit, decked out with Union Jacks and old war memorabilia. The lunch we had there was very good. Would have loved to stay in Winterton for another week!

The Cranny is a beautiful, unusual home, in a lovely village. We absolutely loved it. Lovely walks on the doorstep, including the dunes and the beach which are wonderful and a very nice pub nearby with great meals. It was freezing when we arrived and we had some problems getting the heating to come on, but the wonderful and very helpful Kim, the housekeeper, helped us to get it going. Even though the weather was fresh we could sit out in the lovely, sheltered garden when we arrived back every day. Altogether an absolutely fabulous place to stay.

Great holiday property. Two comments: the sunny garden would benefit from having available the umbrella for the garden table and a scrubbing brush to use to clean the bird excrement from the garden furniture; the springs in the sofas are weak.

We stayed in the Cranny with my 91year old mum and it was lovely. Great quaint little cottage with everything we needed, comfortable beds and very clean. The garden was completely private and enclosed and weather being kind to us we managed to sit outside most days. Great location 5 minutes walk from beautiful clean beach with beach cafe and toilets, Poppys tea room located inside post office and convenience store and fish and chip shop again all within 5 minutes walk. Local pub Fisherman’s return only few minutes walk so all amenities were easy to get to with elderly lady with mobility walker and scooter. Easy access to Great Yarmouth with its lovely promenade plus plenty of other places to visit. Would definitely recommend and we will be back

Wonderful stay and just perfect for a weekend away by the sea. We struggled a little with the heating so it was either very warm or very cold other than that it was the perfect weekend with lovely outside space to enjoy the sun! Definitely would stay again :)

We had a lovely stay at The Cranny.. it’s a unique property in the middle of the village, close to the pub, shop and Fish&Chip shop… it’s also a minutes walk from the dunes.. it is well equipped and comfortable and unusually has a tv in each bedroom as well as the lounge which we found handy… it has a secure garden for a dog and off road parking.. the owners kindly left us some lovely goodies on arrival as well as a much welcomed bottle of milk in the fridge.. this is my second stay at this property and I have no doubt it won’t be my last.. I highly recommend

The Cranny is a short walk from the village shops and the chippy. The Fire Assembly Point can be considered as the Fisherman's Return! It is in an ideal spot and, after so many return visits, feels like home.
